The possible place to search for exotic states in J/ψ hadronic decays is in J/ψ →ρρπ. Because of the symmetry of identical particle and the symmetry of isospin, the physical analysis on this channel is quite complicated. In this paper, the method to use the partial wave analysis based on covariant helicity amplitude analysis to study the invariant mass spectrum of ρρπ and to find the evidence of exotic states in ρρπ spectrum is discussed. The decay amplitude for the decay sequence J/ψ→ρX, X →ρπ is given first. Then we discuss how to realize the identical particle symmetry and the isospin symmetry in the decay amplitude, which is the key point in the analysis of this channel. Then the total decay amplitude of this channel including all decay components is given. After that, how to identify the exotic states in the ρρπ spectrum is discussed. What is discussed in this paper is the theoretical basis on experimentally searching for exotic states at BEPC/BES.  相似文献

The decays of J/ψ → μ^+μ^- and J/ψ → e^+e^- are studied by Monte-Carlo simulation, based on the Beijing Spectrometer (BES)Ⅲ offtine software system. The methods of determination of the J/ψ event number via J/ψ → μ^+μ^- and J/ψ → e^+e^- are presented, respectively. These methods can be used to determine the J/ψ event number for the coming BESⅢ J/ψ data sample.  相似文献

A measurement of the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESⅢ detector in 2009 and 2012 is performed using inclusive decays of the J/ψ. The number of J/ψ events taken in 2009 is recalculated to be(223.7±1.4)×10~6, which is in good agreement with the previous measurement, but with significantly improved precision due to improvements in the BESⅢ software. The number of J/ψ events taken in 2012 is determined to be(1086.9±6.0)×10~6. In total, the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESⅢ detector is measured to be(1310.6±7.0)×106, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects and the statistical uncertainty is negligible.  相似文献

It is an ideal place to search for exotic states through J/ψ hadronic decays. In this paper,we discuss the way to use the partial wave analysis (PWA) based on covariant helicity amplitude analysis to study the invariant mass spectrum of ηπ and to find the evidence of the existence of exotic states in this channel. The formula for PWA is also given. It is the theoretical foundation of experimental physics analysis on exotic states searching in J/ψ hadronic decays. The theoretical formula can also be used in physics analysis of J/ψ decays into ωππ,φππ,ωKK,φKK and K^* (892)Kπ.  相似文献

Trigger efficiencies at BESⅢ were determined for both the J/ψ and ψ' data taking of 2009. Both dedicated runs and physics datasets are used; efficiencies are presented for Bhabha-scattering events, generic hadronic decay events involving charged tracks, dimuon events and ψ'→π+π-J/ψ, J/ψ→ 1+1- events. The efficiencies are found to lie well above 99% for all relevant physics cases, thus fulfilling the BESⅢ design specifications.  相似文献

BESⅢ data show a particular angular distribution for the decay of J/Ψ and Ψ(2 S) mesons into ■ andΣ~0Σ~0 hyperons: the angular distribution of the decay Ψ(2 S) →Σ~0Σ~0 exhibits an opposite trend with respect to the other three channels: J/Ψ→■, J/Ψ→Σ~0Σ~0 and Ψ(2 S) →■. We define a model to explain the origin of this phenomenon.  相似文献

The Beijing Spectrometer Ⅲ(BESⅢ)is a general-purpose detector used for the study of τ-charm physics at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider Ⅱ(BEPC Ⅱ).This paper presents our studies of the dE/dx measurement in the drift chamber of BESⅢ,which is important for the identification of charged particles.Corrections applied to the dE/dx measurement in data reconstruction are discussed. After our current dE/dx calibration,a resolution of about 6% has been obtained for minimum ionization particles, and a 3σ K/πseparation is obtained for momenta up to 760 MeV/c.These results meet the design goals of the BESⅢ drift chamber.  相似文献

We investigate the J/Ψ? invariant mass distribution in the e~+e~-→γJ/Ψ? reaction at a center-of-mass energy of ■=4.6 GeV measured by the BESⅢ collaboration, which concluded that no significant signals were observed for e~+e~-→γX(4140) because of the low statistics. We show, however, that the J/Ψ? invariant mass distribution is compatible with the existence of the X(4140) state, appearing as a peak, and a strong cusp structure at the D_s~*■threshold,resulting from the molecular nature of the X(4160) state, which provides a substantial contribution to the reaction. This is consistent with our previous analysis of the B~+→J/Ψ?K~+decay measured by the LHCb collaboration. We strongly suggest further measurements of this process with more statistics to clarify the nature of the X(4140) and X(4160) resonances.  相似文献

Using J/ψ decays collected with the BES Ⅲ detector, Lundcharm model parameters are optimized with J/ψlight hadron decays. The dependence of the response function on model parameters is approximated up to the quadratic term, and the model parameters are optimized by simultaneously fitting J/ψ inclusive charged track distributions and event shapes. The Monte Carlo simulations show that optimal parameters yield satisfactory MC distributions as compared to both the J/ψ and ψ(2S) data distributions. These optimal values are suggested for the Lundcharm model to produce J/ψ and ψ(2S) decays to light hadrons.  相似文献

We present physics opportunities and topics with the s states(strangeonia)that can be studied with the BES detector operating at the BEPC collider.Though the φ and η/ states have long been established experimentally, only a handful of strangeonia are well known,in contrast to the rich ccharmoium system. An overview of the s states and their experimental status is presented in this paper. The BES experiment has collected the world’s largest samples of J/ψ,ψ(2S),ψ(3770),and direct e+e-annihilations at energies below the J/ψand above 3.8 Ge V,and will continue to accumulate high quality, large integrated luminosity in theτ-charm energy region. These data, combined with the excellent performance of the BESⅢ detector, will offer unprecedented opportunities to explore the s system. In this paper we describe the experimental techniques to explore strangeonia with the BESⅢ detector.  相似文献

The principle of the method for the BESⅢ TOF calibration using cosmic ray data without magnetic field are reported in this paper. After applying calibration constants, the single-end readout time resolution could reach about 150 ps, and the time resolution for one layer is achieved to be about 110 ps. The paper also described the extraction scheme for the event start time of cosmic events.  相似文献

Coolant choice for the central beryllium pipe of the BESⅢ beam pipe   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In order to take away much more heat on the BESⅢ beam pipe to guarantee the normal particle detection,EDM-1(oil No.1 for electric discharge machining),with good thermal and flow properties was selected as the candidate coolant for the central beryllium pipe of the BESⅢ beam pipe. Its cooling character was studied and dynamic corrosion experiment was undertaken to examine its corrosion on beryllium. The experiment results show that EDM-1 would corrode the beryllium 19.9 μm in the depth in 10 years, which is weak and can be neglected.Finite element simulation and experiment research were taken to check the cooling capacity of EDM-1.The results show that EDM-1 can meet the cooling requirement of the central beryllium pipe. Now EDM-1 is being used to cool the central beryllium pipe of the BESⅢ beam pipe.  相似文献

Primary vertex reconstruction is crucial to estimate the beam profile in collision experiments. We study the principle of an iterative process, called the Kalman filter method, and apply it to primary vertex reconstruction at BESⅢ. A Newton procedure to find the zero point of the distance function's gradient is used for primary vertex finding in 3-dimensional space. Results are obtained based on raw data at BESⅢ.  相似文献

Offline calibration plays an important role in BES offline data processing. In order to achieve good spatial and momentum resolution, it is necessary to implement high precision offline calibration for the BES drift chamber. This paper studies the time-to-distance relations, which are important calibration constants for track reconstruction. The parameterization of the time-to-distance relation, studies of left-right asymmetry and studies of variation with entrance angle are performed. The impact of dead channels on the time-to-distance relation is given special attention in order to reduce the shift in measured momentum for tracks passing near dead cells. Finally we present the resolutions for barrel Bhabha events(|cos θ|< 0.8) from a J/ψ data set taken in 2012. The average spatial resolution is 123 μm and the momentum resolution for 1.548 Ge V/c Bhabha tracks is 11.9 Me V/c.  相似文献
