A standard completion for a quasiordered set Q is a closure system whose point closures are the principal ideals of Q. We characterize the following types of standard completions by means of their closure operators:
  1. V-distributive completions,
  2. Completely distributive completions,
  3. A-completions (i.e. standard completions which are completely distributive algebraic lattices),
  4. Boolean completions.
Moreover, completely distributive completions are described by certain idempotent relations, and the A-completions are shown to be in one-to-one correspondence with the join-dense subsets of Q. If a pseudocomplemented meet-semilattice Q has a Boolean completion ?, then Q must be a Boolean lattice and ? its MacNeille completion.  相似文献

We investigate the completeness and completions of the normed algebras (D (1)(X), ‖ · ‖) for perfect, compact plane sets X. In particular, we construct a radially self-absorbing, compact plane set X such that the normed algebra (D (1)(X), ‖ · ‖) is not complete. This solves a question of Bland and Feinstein. We also prove that there are several classes of connected, compact plane sets X for which the completeness of (D (1)(X), ‖ · ‖) is equivalent to the pointwise regularity of X. For example, this is true for all rectifiably connected, polynomially convex, compact plane sets with empty interior, for all star-shaped, compact plane sets, and for all Jordan arcs in ℂ.  相似文献

In this paper, we study sub-topical functions in the framework of abstract convexity and examine the relevant properties such as support sets, polar sets and sub-differentials for these functions. Plus-radiant and plus-co-radiant sets, and their relations with sub-topical functions are studied. Difference systems of sets (DSSs) are combinatorial structures that are generalizations of cyclic difference sets and arise in connection with code synchronization. In this paper, we give a recursive construction of DSSs with smaller redundancy from partition-type DSSs and difference sets. As applications, we obtain some new infinite classes of optimal DSSs from the known difference sets and almost difference sets.  相似文献

Rough set theory is an important tool for approximate reasoning about data. Axiomatic systems of rough sets are significant for using rough set theory in logical reasoning systems. In this paper, outer product method are used in rough set study for the first time. By this approach, we propose a unified lower approximation axiomatic system for Pawlak’s rough sets and fuzzy rough sets. As the dual of axiomatic systems for lower approximation, a unified upper approximation axiomatic characterization of rough sets and fuzzy rough sets without any restriction on the cardinality of universe is also given. These rough set axiomatic systems will help to understand the structural feature of various approximate operators.  相似文献

First, we study simultaneous metric projection onto downward and upward sets and separation properties of these sets. In this paper, we classify frame wavelet sets and frame scaling function sets in higher dimensions. Firstly, we obtain a necessary condition for a set to be the frame wavelet sets. Then, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for a set to be a frame scaling function set. We give a property of frame scaling function sets, too. We introduce and study the class of almost Dunford–Pettis sets in Banach lattices. It also discusses some of the consequences derived from this study. As an application, we characterize Banach lattices whose relatively weakly compact sets are almost Dunford–Pettis sets. Also, we establish some necessary and sufficient conditions on which an almost Dunford–Pettis set is L-weakly compact (respectively, relatively weakly compact). In particular, we characterize Banach lattices under which almost Dunford–Pettis sets in the topological dual of a Banach lattice coincide with that of L-weakly compact (respectively, relatively weakly compact) sets. Quite recently, by using semi-open (resp.α-open, preopen,β-open) sets in a topological space, the notions ofsg*-closed (resp.αg*-closed,pg*-closedβg*-closed) sets are indroduced and investigated in [8]. These subsets place between closed sets andg-closed sets due to Levine [5]. We study a construction that produces a variety of completions of a given poset. The denseness and compactness properties of the completions obtained in this way are investigated. Next we focus our attention on three specific completions of a given poset that can be obtained through this construction—two of which have been called ‘the canonical extension’ of the poset in the literature. We investigate extensions of maps to these three completions. Although the extensions of unary operators need not be operators on the completions, we show that the extensions of unary residuated maps are residuated. We also investigate extensions of n-ary maps. In particular, we have a closer look at order-preserving n-ary maps and binary residuated maps.  相似文献

Using results by McKee and Woodall on binary matroids, we show that the set of postman sets has odd cardinality, generalizing a result by Toida on the cardinality of cycles in Eulerian graphs. We study the relationship between T-joins and blocks of the underlying graph, obtaining a decomposition of postman sets in terms of blocks. We conclude by giving several characterizations of T-joins which are postman sets.  相似文献
