Let \(R\) be any \((n+1)!\) -torsion free ring and \(F,D: R\rightarrow R\) be additive mappings satisfying \(F(x^{n+1})=(\alpha (x))^nF(x)+\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^n (\alpha (x))^{n-i}(\beta (x))^iD(x)\) for all \(x\in R\) , where \(n\) is a fixed integer and \(\alpha \) , \(\beta \) are automorphisms of \(R\) . Then, \(D\) is Jordan left \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation and \(F\) is generalized Jordan left \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation on \(R\) and if additive mappings \(F\) and \(D\) satisfying \(F(x^{n+1})=F(x)(\alpha (x))^n+\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^n (\beta (x))^iD(x)(\alpha (x))^{n-i}\) for all \(x\in R\) . Then, \(D\) is Jordan \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation and \(F\) is generalized Jordan \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation on \(R\) . At last some immediate consequences of the above theorems have been given.  相似文献

In this note we are concerned with numerical solutions to Dirichlet problem $$[\phi(u')]' =f(x) \quad \mbox{in} [\alpha, \beta]; \quad u(\alpha)=A, \; u(\beta)=B, $$ where \(\phi :(-\eta , \eta ) \to \mathbb {R}\) \((\eta <+ \infty )\) is an increasing diffeomorphism with \(\phi '(y)\geq d >0\) for all \(y\in (-\eta , \eta )\) . The obtained algorithm combines the shooting method with Euler’s method and it is convergent whenever the problem is solvable. We provide numerical experiments confirming the theoretical aspects.  相似文献

A subgroup \(H\) of an Abelian group \(G\) is called fully inert if \((\phi H + H)/H\) is finite for every \(\phi \in \mathrm{End}(G)\) . Fully inert subgroups of free Abelian groups are characterized. It is proved that \(H\) is fully inert in the free group \(G\) if and only if it is commensurable with \(n G\) for some \(n \ge 0\) , that is, \((H + nG)/H\) and \((H + nG)/nG\) are both finite. From this fact we derive a more structural characterization of fully inert subgroups \(H\) of free groups \(G\) , in terms of the Ulm–Kaplansky invariants of \(G/H\) and the Hill–Megibben invariants of the exact sequence \(0 \rightarrow H \rightarrow G \rightarrow G/H \rightarrow 0\) .  相似文献

By variational methods and Morse theory, we prove the existence of uncountably many \((\alpha ,\beta )\in \mathbb R ^2\) for which the equation \(-\mathrm{div}\, A(x, \nabla u)=\alpha u_+^{p-1} -\beta u_-^{p-1}\) in \(\Omega \) , has a sign changing solution under the Neumann boundary condition, where a map \(A\) from \(\overline{\Omega }\times \mathbb R ^N\) to \(\mathbb R ^N\) satisfying certain regularity conditions. As a special case, the above equation contains the \(p\) -Laplace equation. However, the operator \(A\) is not supposed to be \((p-1)\) -homogeneous in the second variable. In particular, it is shown that generally the Fu?ík spectrum of the operator \(-\mathrm{div}\, A(x, \nabla u)\) on \(W^{1,p}(\Omega )\) contains some open unbounded subset of \(\mathbb R ^2\) .  相似文献

Let \(x_{n,k}^{(\alpha ,\beta )}\) , \(k=1,\ldots ,n\) , be the zeros of Jacobi polynomials \(P_{n}^{(\alpha ,\beta )}(x)\) arranged in decreasing order on \((-1,1)\) , where \(\alpha ,\beta >-1\) , and \(\theta _{n,k}^{(\alpha ,\beta )}=\arccos x_{n,k}^{(\alpha ,\beta )}\) . Gautschi, in a series of recent papers, conjectured that the inequalities $$n\theta_{n,k}^{(\alpha,\beta)}<(n+1)\theta_{n+1,k}^{(\alpha,\beta)} $$ and $$(n+(\alpha+\beta+3)/2)\theta_{n+1,k}^{(\alpha,\beta)}<(n+(\alpha+\beta+1)/2)\theta_{n,k}^{(\alpha,\beta)}, $$ hold for all \(n\geq 1\) , \(k=1,\ldots ,n\) , and certain values of the parameters \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \) . We establish these conjectures for large domains of the \((\alpha ,\beta )\) -plane by using a Sturmian approach.  相似文献

The paper deals with standing wave solutions of the dimensionless nonlinear Schrödinger equation where the potential \(V_\lambda :\mathbb {R}^N\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\) is close to an infinite well potential \(V_\infty :\mathbb {R}^N\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\) , i. e. \(V_\infty =\infty \) on an exterior domain \(\mathbb {R}^N\setminus \Omega \) , \(V_\infty |_\Omega \in L^\infty (\Omega )\) , and \(V_\lambda \rightarrow V_\infty \) as \(\lambda \rightarrow \infty \) in a sense to be made precise. The nonlinearity may be of Gross–Pitaevskii type. A standing wave solution of \((NLS_\lambda )\) with \(\lambda =\infty \) vanishes on \(\mathbb {R}^N\setminus \Omega \) and satisfies Dirichlet boundary conditions, hence it solves We investigate when a standing wave solution \(\Phi _\infty \) of the infinite well potential \((NLS_\infty )\) gives rise to nearby solutions \(\Phi _\lambda \) of the finite well potential \((NLS_\lambda )\) with \(\lambda \gg 1\) large. Considering \((NLS_\infty )\) as a singular limit of \((NLS_\lambda )\) we prove a kind of singular continuation type results.  相似文献

Let \(T:[0,1]\rightarrow [0,1]\) be the doubling map and let \(0 . We say that an integer \(n\ge 3\) is bad for \((a,b)\) if all \(n\) -cycles for \(T\) intersect \((a,b)\) . Let \(B(a,b)\) denote the set of all \(n\) which are bad for \((a,b)\) . In this paper we completely describe the sets: $$\begin{aligned} D_2=\{(a,b) : B(a,b)\,\text {is finite}\} \end{aligned}$$ and $$\begin{aligned} D_3=\{(a,b) : B(a,b)=\varnothing \}. \end{aligned}$$ In particular, we show that if \(b-a<\frac{1}{6}\) , then \((a,b)\in D_2\) , and if \(b-a\le \frac{2}{15}\) , then \((a,b)\in D_3\) , both constants being sharp.  相似文献

A subgroup property $\alpha $ is transitive in a group $G$ if $U \alpha V$ and $V \alpha G$ imply that $U \alpha G$ whenever $U \le V \le G$ , and $\alpha $ is persistent in $G$ if $U \alpha G$ implies that $U \alpha V$ whenever $U \le V \le G$ . Even though a subgroup property $\alpha $ may be neither transitive nor persistent, a given subgroup $U$ may have the property that each $\alpha $ -subgroup of $U$ is an $\alpha $ -subgroup of $G$ , or that each $\alpha $ -subgroup of $G$ in $U$ is an $\alpha $ -subgroup of $U$ . We call these subgroup properties $\alpha $ -transitivity and $\alpha $ -persistence, respectively. We introduce and develop the notions of $\alpha $ -transitivity and $\alpha $ -persistence, and we establish how the former property is related to $\alpha $ -sensitivity. In order to demonstrate how these concepts can be used, we apply the results to the cases in which $\alpha $ is replaced with “normal” and the “cover-avoidance property.” We also suggest ways in which the theory can be developed further.  相似文献

Let \(X\) be a completely regular Hausdorff space and \(C_b(X)\) be the Banach lattice of all real-valued bounded continuous functions on \(X\) , endowed with the strict topologies \(\beta _\sigma ,\) \(\beta _\tau \) and \(\beta _t\) . Let \(\mathcal{L}_{\beta _z,\xi }(C_b(X),E)\) \((z=\sigma ,\tau ,t)\) stand for the space of all \((\beta _z,\xi )\) -continuous linear operators from \(C_b(X)\) to a locally convex Hausdorff space \((E,\xi ),\) provided with the topology \(\mathcal{T}_s\) of simple convergence. We characterize relative \(\mathcal{T}_s\) -compactness in \(\mathcal{L}_{\beta _z,\xi }(C_b(X),E)\) in terms of the representing Baire vector measures. It is shown that if \((E,\xi )\) is sequentially complete, then the spaces \((\mathcal{L}_{\beta _z,\xi }(C_b(X),E),\mathcal{T}_s)\) are sequentially complete whenever \(z=\sigma \) ; \(z=\tau \) and \(X\) is paracompact; \(z=t\) and \(X\) is paracompact and ?ech complete. Moreover, a Dieudonné–Grothendieck type theorem for operators on \(C_b(X)\) is given.  相似文献

Consider the instationary Boussinesq equations in a smooth bounded domain \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb {R}^3\) with initial values \(u_0 \in L^2_{\sigma }(\Omega )\) , \( \theta _0 \in L^2(\Omega )\) and gravitational force \(g\) . We call \((u,\theta )\) strong solution if \((u,\theta )\) is a weak solution and additionally Serrin’s condition \(u \in L^s(0,T; L^q(\Omega ))\) holds where \( 1 satisfy \(\frac{2}{s} + \frac{3}{q} =1\) . In this paper we show that \(\int _0^{\infty } \Vert e^{-tA} u_0 \Vert _q^s \, dt < \infty \) is necessary and sufficient for the existence of such a strong solution \((u,\theta )\) in a sufficiently small interval \([0,T[\, , 0 < T\le \infty \) . Furthermore we show that strong solutions are uniquely determined and that they are smooth if the data are smooth. The crucial point is the fact that we have required no additional integrability condition for \(\theta \) in the definition of a strong solution \((u,\theta )\) .  相似文献

A \(k\times u\lambda \) matrix \(M=[d_{ij}]\) with entries from a group \(U\) of order \(u\) is called a \((u,k,\lambda )\) -difference matrix over \(U\) if the list of quotients \(d_{i\ell }{d_{j\ell }}^{-1}, 1 \le \ell \le u\lambda ,\) contains each element of \(U\) exactly \(\lambda \) times for all \(i\ne j.\) Jungnickel has shown that \(k \le u\lambda \) and it is conjectured that the equality holds only if \(U\) is a \(p\) -group for a prime \(p.\) On the other hand, Winterhof has shown that some known results on the non-existence of \((u,u\lambda ,\lambda )\) -difference matrices are extended to \((u,u\lambda -1,\lambda )\) -difference matrices. This fact suggests us that there is a close connection between these two cases. In this article we show that any \((u,u\lambda -1,\lambda )\) -difference matrix over an abelian \(p\) -group can be extended to a \((u,u\lambda ,\lambda )\) -difference matrix.  相似文献

For an entire function \(f:\mathbb C\mapsto \mathbb C\) and a triple \((p,\alpha , r)\in (0,\infty )\times (-\infty ,\infty )\times (0,\infty ]\) , the Gaussian integral mean of \(f\) (with respect to the area measure \(dA\) ) is defined by $$\begin{aligned} {\mathsf M}_{p,\alpha }(f,r)=\left( \,\, {\int \limits _{|z| Via deriving a maximum principle for \({\mathsf M}_{p,\alpha }(f,r)\) , we establish not only Fock–Sobolev trace inequalities associated with \({\mathsf M}_{p,p/2}(z^m f(z),\infty )\) (as \(m=0,1,2,\ldots \) ), but also convexities of \(r\mapsto \ln {\mathsf M}_{p,\alpha }(z^m,r)\) and \(r\mapsto {\mathsf M}_{2,\alpha <0}(f,r)\) in \(\ln r\) with \(0 .  相似文献

Let \(p\) be a prime and let \(A\) be a nonempty subset of the cyclic group \(C_p\) . For a field \({\mathbb F}\) and an element \(f\) in the group algebra \({\mathbb F}[C_p]\) let \(T_f\) be the endomorphism of \({\mathbb F}[C_p]\) given by \(T_f(g)=fg\) . The uncertainty number \(u_{{\mathbb F}}(A)\) is the minimal rank of \(T_f\) over all nonzero \(f \in {\mathbb F}[C_p]\) such that \(\mathrm{supp}(f) \subset A\) . The following topological characterization of uncertainty numbers is established. For \(1 \le k \le p\) define the sum complex \(X_{A,k}\) as the \((k-1)\) -dimensional complex on the vertex set \(C_p\) with a full \((k-2)\) -skeleton whose \((k-1)\) -faces are all \(\sigma \subset C_p\) such that \(|\sigma |=k\) and \(\prod _{x \in \sigma }x \in A\) . It is shown that if \({\mathbb F}\) is algebraically closed then $$\begin{aligned} u_{{\mathbb F}}(A)=p-\max \{k :\tilde{H}_{k-1}(X_{A,k};{\mathbb F}) \ne 0\}. \end{aligned}$$ The main ingredient in the proof is the determination of the homology groups of \(X_{A,k}\) with field coefficients. In particular it is shown that if \(|A| \le k\) then \(\tilde{H}_{k-1}(X_{A,k};{\mathbb F}_p)\!=\!0.\)   相似文献

We prove the following extension of one direction in Marty’s theorem: If $k$ is a natural number, $\alpha >1$ and $\mathcal{F }$ is a family of functions meromorphic on a domain $D$ all of whose poles have multiplicity at least $\frac{k}{\alpha -1}$ , then the normality of $\mathcal{F }$ implies that the family $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \frac{|f^{(k)}|}{1+|f|^\alpha }\,:\, f\in \mathcal{F }\right\} \end{aligned}$$ is locally uniformly bounded.  相似文献

Consider a multivalued formal function of the type 1 $$\begin{aligned} \varphi (s) : = \sum _{j=0}^k\,c_j(s).s^{\lambda + m_j}.(\mathrm{Log}\,s)^j, \end{aligned}$$ where \(\lambda \) is a positive rational number, \(c_j\) is in \({{\mathrm{\mathbb {C}}}}[[s]]\) and \(m_j \in \mathbb {N}\) for \(j \in [0,k-1]\) . The theme associated with such a \(\varphi \) is the “minimal filtered integral equation” satisfied by \(\varphi \) , in a sense which is made precise in this article. We study such objects and show that their isomorphism classes may be characterized by a finite set of complex numbers, when we assume the Bernstein polynomial of \(\varphi \) to be fixed. For a given \(\lambda \) , to fix the Bernstein polynomial is equivalent to fix a finite set of integers associated with the logarithm of the monodromy in the geometric situation described below. Our aim is to construct some analytic invariants, for instance in the following situation, let \(f : X \rightarrow D\) be a proper holomorphic function defined on a complex manifold \(X\) with values in a disc \(D\) . We assume that the only critical value is \(0 \in D\) and we consider this situation as a degenerating family of compact complex manifolds to a singular compact complex space \(f^{-1}(0)\) . To a smooth \((p+1)\) -form \(\omega \) on \(X\) such that \(\mathrm{d}\omega = 0 = \mathrm{d}f \wedge \omega \) and to a vanishing \(p\) -cycle \(\gamma \) chosen in the generic fiber \(f^{-1}(s_0), s_0 \in D \setminus \{0\}\) , we associated a “vanishing period” \(F_{\gamma }(s) : = \int _{\gamma _s} \omega \big /\mathrm{d}f \) which has an asymptotic expansion at \(0\) of the form \((1)\) above, when \(\gamma \) is chosen in the spectral subspace of \(H_p(f^{-1}(s_0), {{\mathrm{\mathbb {C}}}})\) for the eigenvalue \(\mathrm{e}^{2i\pi .\lambda }\) of the monodromy of \(f\) . Here \((\gamma _s)_{s \in D^*}\) is the horizontal multivalued family of \(p\) -cycles in the fibers of \(f\) obtained from the choice of \(\gamma \) . The aim of this article was to study the module generated by such a \(\varphi \) over the algebra \(\tilde{\mathcal {A}}\) , which is the \(b\) -completion of the algebra \(\mathcal {A}\) generated by the operators \(\mathrm{a} : = \times s\) and \(\mathrm{b} : = \int _{0}^{s}\) .  相似文献

We prove that for a topological space \(X\) with the property that \( H_{*}(U)=0\) for \(*\ge d\) and every open subset \(U\) of \(X\) , a finite family of open sets in \(X\) has nonempty intersection if for any subfamily of size \(j,\,1\le j\le d+1,\) the \((d-j)\) -dimensional homology group of its intersection is zero. We use this theorem to prove new results concerning transversal affine planes to families of convex sets.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{R }$ be a prime ring of characteristic different from $2, \mathcal{Q }_r$ the right Martindale quotient ring of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{C }$ the extended centroid of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{I }$ a nonzero left ideal of $\mathcal{R }, F$ a nonzero generalized skew derivation of $\mathcal{R }$ with associated automorphism $\alpha $ , and $n,k \ge 1$ be fixed integers. If $[F(r^n),r^n]_k=0$ for all $r \in \mathcal{I }$ , then there exists $\lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $F(x)=\lambda x$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{I }$ . More precisely one of the following holds: (1) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -inner automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $b,c \in \mathcal{Q }_r$ and $q$ invertible element of $\mathcal{Q }_r$ , such that $F(x)=bx-qxq^{-1}c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ . Moreover there exists $\gamma \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $\mathcal{I }(q^{-1}c-\gamma )=(0)$ and $b-\gamma q \in \mathcal{C }$ ; (2) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -outer automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $c \in \mathcal{Q }_r, \lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ , such that $F(x)=\lambda x-\alpha (x)c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ , with $\alpha (\mathcal{I })c=0$ .  相似文献

We generalise the operations of augmentation and concatenations defined in Cooper et al. (Compos Math 131(2):121–160, 2002) in order to obtain multigerms of analytic (or smooth) maps \((\mathbb {K}^n,S)\rightarrow (\mathbb {K}^p,0)\) with \(\mathbb {K}=\mathbb {C}\) or \(\mathbb {R}\) from monogerms and some special multigerms. We then prove that any corank 1 codimension 2 multigerm in Mather’s nice dimensions \((n,p)\) with \(n\ge p-1\) can be constructed using augmentations and these operations.  相似文献

If $G$ is a triangle-free graph, then two Gallai identities can be written as $\alpha (G)+\overline{\chi }(L(G))=|V(G)|=\alpha (L(G))+\overline{\chi }(G)$ , where $\alpha $ and $\overline{\chi }$ denote the stability number and the clique-partition number, and $L(G)$ is the line graph of  $G$ . We show that, surprisingly, both equalities can be preserved for any graph $G$ by deleting the edges of the line graph corresponding to simplicial pairs of adjacent arcs, according to any acyclic orientation of  $G$ . As a consequence, one obtains an operator $\Phi $ which associates to any graph parameter $\beta $ such that $\alpha (G) \le \beta (G) \le \overline{\chi }(G)$ for all graph $G$ , a graph parameter $\Phi _\beta $ such that $\alpha (G) \le \Phi _\beta (G) \le \overline{\chi }(G)$ for all graph $G$ . We prove that $\vartheta (G) \le \Phi _\vartheta (G)$ and that $\Phi _{\overline{\chi }_f}(G)\le \overline{\chi }_f(G)$ for all graph  $G$ , where $\vartheta $ is Lovász theta function and $\overline{\chi }_f$ is the fractional clique-partition number. Moreover, $\overline{\chi }_f(G) \le \Phi _\vartheta (G)$ for triangle-free $G$ . Comparing to the previous strengthenings $\Psi _\vartheta $ and $\vartheta ^{+ \triangle }$ of $\vartheta $ , numerical experiments show that $\Phi _\vartheta $ is a significant better lower bound for $\overline{\chi }$ than $\vartheta $ .  相似文献
