This paper is concerned with the determination of exact buckling loads and vibration frequencies of multi-stepped rectangular plates based on the classical thin (Kirchhoff) plate theory. The plate is assumed to have two opposite edges simply supported while the other two edges can take any combination of free, simply supported and clamped conditions. The proposed analytical method for solution involves the Levy method and the state-space technique. By using this analytical method, exact buckling and vibration solutions are obtained for rectangular plates having one- and two-step thickness variations. These exact solutions are extremely useful as benchmark values for researchers developing numerical techniques and software for analyzing non-uniform thickness plates.  相似文献

变厚度圆板和环板是在工程设计中经常遇到的一类构件,与等厚度板相比,通过适当的沿径向厚度的变化,这种变厚度板在振动、失稳、弯曲等方面能起到更好的效果。将沿径向任意变厚度圆板、环板划分为一系列等厚度环板单元,基于Mindlin中厚板理论采用逆向推导的方式推导了其传递矩阵,建立起变厚度圆板、环板的频率方程。通过计算线性变厚度环板自由振动时的频率,并与ANSYS模态分析结果相比较,验证了计算模型的精确性。逆向推导法避免了高阶数传递矩阵推导复杂的问题,是对传递矩阵法的很好推广。  相似文献

The free vibration and stability of a variable thickness annular plate subjected to a torque are analyzed by the Ritz method. For this purpose, the transverse deflection of an annular plate is written in a series of the deflection functions of a uniform thickness annular plate without the action of a torque. The kinetic and strain energies of the plate are evaluated analytically and the frequency equation of the plate is derived by the conditions for a stationary value of the Lagrange functional. The present method is applied to annular plates with two types of radial thickness variation, power law and exponential, and the natural frequencies (the frequency parameters) and the divergence torques are calculated numerically, from which the effects of the varying thickness, inner/outer radii ratio and edge conditions are studied.  相似文献

Free vibration analysis of annular moderately thick plates integrated with piezoelectric layers is investigated in this study for different combinations of soft simply supported, hard simply supported and clamped boundary conditions at the inner and outer edges of the annular plate on the basis of the Levinson plate theory (LPT). The distribution of electric potential along the thickness direction in the piezoelectric layer is assumed as a sinusoidal function so that the Maxwell static electricity equation is approximately satisfied. The differential equations of motion are solved analytically for various boundary conditions of the plate. In this study the closed-form solution for characteristic equations, displacement components of the plate and electric potential are derived for the first time in the literature. To demonstrate the accuracy of the present solution, comparison studies is first carried out with the available data in the literature and then natural frequencies of the piezoelectric coupled annular plate are presented for different thickness-radius ratios, inner-outer radius ratios, thickness of piezoelectric, material of piezoelectric and boundary conditions. Present analytical model provides design reference for piezoelectric material application, such as sensors, actuators and ultrasonic motors.  相似文献

For infrared-convergent theories the solutions can be expressed in a closed form as convolutions over Bessel functions. The well known transfer matrix scheme of Ehrich for calculating the vibration characteristics of uniform and varying thickness discs is extended to include polar orthotropic material behaviour. The exact deflection equations for an annular element of material are used in the solution. Comparisons with alternative solutions in the literature show excellent agreement for both annular and complete discs of uniform and varying thickness profile.  相似文献

The exact vector integral solution for all the electromagnetic field components of a general flattened Gaussian laser mode is derived by using the angular spectrum method. This solution includes the pure and annular Gaussian modes as special cases. The integrals are of the form of Gegenbauer's finite integral and are computed analytically for each case, yielding fields satisfying the Maxwell equations exactly in the form of quickly converging Fourier-Gegenbauer series.  相似文献

A vibration analysis of a circular steel substrate surface bonded by a piezoelectric layer with open circuit is presented. A solution for the electrical potential along the thickness direction of the piezoelectric layer satisfying the open circuit electric boundary condition is developed for the first time. The mechanical model and solutions for the vibration analysis of the piezoelectric coupled circular plate are then established based on the developed electrical potential, the Kirchhoff plate model, and the Maxwell equation. The first four mode shapes and the corresponding resonant frequencies of the plate with two standard boundary conditions are presented in numerical simulations and compared with those of a piezoelectric coupled plate with the closed circuit condition. The simulations show that the resonant frequencies of the open circuit piezoelectric coupled plate are higher than those of the closed circuit piezoelectric coupled plate. Corresponding discussions are thus provided for the higher piezoelectric effect from the open circuit piezoelectric layer.  相似文献

This article investigates the thermal performance of convective-radiative annular fins with a step reduction in local cross section (SRC). The thermal conductivity of the fin’s material is assumed to be a linear function of temperature, and heat transfer coefficient is assumed to be a power-law function of surface temperature. Moreover, nonzero convection and radiation sink temperatures are included in the mathematical model of the energy equation. The well-known differential transformation method (DTM) is used to derive the analytical solution. An exact analytical solution for a special case is derived to prove the validity of the obtained results from the DTM. The model provided here is a more realistic representation of SRC annular fins in actual engineering practices. Effects of many parameters such as conduction-convection parameters, conduction-radiation parameter and sink temperature, and also some parameters which deal with step fins such as thickness parameter and dimensionless parameter describing the position of junction in the fin on the temperature distribution of both thin and thick sections of the fin are investigated. It is believed that the obtained results will facilitate the design and performance evaluation of SRC annular fins.  相似文献

Non-equilibrium energy transfer between electron and lattice sub-systems due to short-pulse heating is formulated and the closed form solution for electron and lattice site temperatures is presented. The electron kinetic theory approach is incorporated to formulate non-equilibrium energy transfer in the electron and lattice sub-systems. The method of Lie point symmetries is used in the exact solution of governing energy equation. In the analysis, the volumetric heat source, representing the laser heating pulse, and surface heat source, corresponding to short thermal contact of the surface, are incorporated and the analytical solutions for each heating source are presented. Electron temperature distribution obtained from the closed form solution is compared with its counterpart predicted from the numerical simulation. It is found that the results obtained from the closed form agree well with electron temperature predictions obtained from numerical simulation.  相似文献

Approximate analytic solutions for the energy of an antiferromagnetic (AF) grain, which experiences an external exchange torque from a ferromagnetic grain have been obtained for a wide range of AF thickness. The accuracy of the analytic expression is within 2.0% of the exact solution, which do not have a closed analytical form. The model predicts that there are two critical AF grain thickness for each particular exchange energy strength. Below the first critical thickness, the induced anisotropy energy is well approximated by an uniaxial anisotropy term. Above the second critical thickness the induced anisotropy is unidirectional. In the intermediate range the induced anisotropy can not be expressed simply as uniaxial or unidirectional. The exchange bias and coercivity in NiFe/IrMn films have been studied as a function of the IrMn thickness, and the results are consistent with the proposed theory.  相似文献

A theoretical study of the response of a flat plate to a sonic boom excitation is presented. For such a study, the problem of transient vibrations of elastic plates having clamped or simply supported boundary conditions under a pulse load in the shape of a capital N corresponding to a typical far-field sonic boom disturbance is discussed in a new fashion by using the concept of iso-amplitude contour lines on the surface of the plate. Series solutions consisting of products of eigenfunctions times functions of time are employed to analyse the motions. As an illustration of the technique, an elliptical plate subjected to a typical N wave arriving at normal incidence is chosen as a model because this involves a curvilinear boundary of a relatively simple shape, yet has no simple exact solution. Closed form solutions are obtained for both clamped as well as simply supported edges. The results have technical importance for the prediction of response of window panes and wall-panels to sonic boom. All details are explained by graphs.  相似文献

The exact solution of the eigenproblem of the Heisenberg Hamiltonian for the XXX model in the case of a magnetic ring with N=5 nodes is presented in a closed algebraic form. It is demonstrated that the eigenproblem itself is expressible within the extension of the prime field Q of rationals by the primitive fifth root of unity, whereas the associated Bethe parameters, i.e. pseudomomenta, phases of scattering, and spectral parameters, require some finite field extensions, such that the nonlinearity remains algebraic rather than transcendental. Classification of exact Bethe Ansatz eigenstates in terms of rigged string configurations is presented.  相似文献

This research article is dedicated to solving fractional-order parabolic equations using an innovative analytical technique. The Adomian decomposition method is well supported by natural transform to establish closed form solutions for targeted problems. The procedure is simple, attractive and is preferred over other methods because it provides a closed form solution for the given problems. The solution graphs are plotted for both integer and fractional-order, which shows that the obtained results are in good contact with the exact solution of the problems. It is also observed that the solution of fractional-order problems are convergent to the solution of integer-order problem. In conclusion, the current technique is an accurate and straightforward approximate method that can be applied to solve other fractional-order partial differential equations.  相似文献

An exact analytical solution for the q-state Potts model on a 2×∞ ladder with arbitrary two-, three-, and four-site interactions in a unit cell in presented is a closed form. This solution is used to show that the finite-size internal energy equation [6] yields an accurate value of the critical temperature for the triangular Potts lattice with three-site interactions in alternate triangular faces. It is argued that the above equation is exact at least for self-dual models on isotopic strips.  相似文献

The objective of the analysis is to obtain a closed form approximate analytical solution for the equilibrium equations of the loaded plate considering time variant damping, and to discuss the shear force effect for the problem. An exact, three-dimensional solution for the free vibrations of simply supported, rectangular plates of arbitrary thickness within the linear theory of elastodynamics is given in this paper. The solution, obtained in a semi-inverse fashion as was the solution of the elastostatic problem for such plates, satisfies all of the boundary conditions of the problem in a pointwise manner. It is found that there are two types of modes of oscillation possible which are consistent with the kinematic assumptions made to find the semi-inverse solution. Other modes of oscillation may exist in the three-dimensional theory of elastodynamics for such plates but our kinematic assumptions would not be consistent with such modes. The two types of modes found are analogous to the flexural modes of classical plate theory and the thickness-twist modes, here called breathing modes, of Mindlin plate theory. Some numerical results are given which indicate that the predictions of Mindlin plates are uncannily good approximations to the flexural frequencies given by the present, three-dimensional analysis even for very thick plates. However, the predictions of Mindlin plate theory for the thickness-twist, or breathing, frequencies are not nearly so good. These discrepancies are discussed briefly in an appendix.  相似文献

The present study deals with an exact analysis of free transverse vibrations of annular plates having small core and sliding inner edge and the outer edge being elastically restrained based on classical plate theory. This study focuses mainly on the influence of variations in the elastic restraint parameters on the fundamental frequencies of plate vibration. The natural frequencies for the first six modes of annular plate vibrations are computed for different materials and varying values of the radius parameter and these natural frequencies may correspond to either axisymmetric and/or non-axisymmetric modes of plate vibration. The extensive data of values of fundamental frequency parameter presented in this paper is believed to be of use in the design of acoustic underwater transducers, ocean and naval structures, compressor and pump elements, offshore platforms. These results may serve as bench mark values for researchers to validate their results obtained using approximate numerical methods.  相似文献

An analytical solution is presented in this paper for the vibration response of a ribbed plate clamped on all its boundary edges by employing a traveling wave solution. A clamped ribbed plate test rig is also assembled in this study for the experimental investigation of the ribbed plate response and to provide verification results to the analytical solution. The dynamic characteristics and mode shapes of the ribbed plate are measured and compared to those obtained from the analytical solution and from finite element analysis (FEA). General good agreements are found between the results. Discrepancies between the computational and experimental results at low and high frequencies are also discussed. Explanations are offered in the study to disclose the mechanism causing the discrepancies. The dependency of the dynamic response of the ribbed plate on the distance between the excitation force and the rib is also investigated experimentally. It confirms the findings disclosed in a previous analytical study [T.R. Lin, J. Pan, A closed form solution for the dynamic response of finite ribbed plates, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America 119 (2006) 917–925] that the vibration response of a clamped ribbed plate due to a point force excitation is controlled by the plate stiffness when the source is more than a quarter plate bending wavelength away from the rib and from the plate boundary. The response is largely affected by the rib stiffness when the source location is less than a quarter bending wavelength away from the rib.  相似文献

An exact solution of the governing equations of motion for the flow, induced by an impulsive start of a long flat plate, under the action of a strong transverse magnetic field with Hall currents, has been obtained in a closed form. Some interesting results along with the asymptotic cases of very small and very large times are discussed, accounting for the influence of the governing parameters on the flow character. It is seen that the time taken by the flow to attain the steady state increases due to Hall effect.
