We study Compton scattering on the ground state of the hydrogen atom in the presence of an intense low-frequency electric field (the laser) of arbitrary polarization, for incident and scattered photons of energies around 15 keV. The adopted formalism is the nonrelativistic one developed by Voitkiv et al. [J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 36, 1907 (2003)] and applied by them for a circularly polarized laser. We explore the spectrum and the electron energy distribution in their dependence on the incident photon energy or electric field intensity, for different polarizations.  相似文献

A compact expression is derived for the part of the cross section for light scattering by axisymmetrically polarized atomic systems proportional to the third-rank state multipole. The effect of the second-order orientation determined by this state multipole on the polarization and angular distribution of the scattered light is studied. The polarization of the incident light can be arbitrary and is specified by the Stokes parameters. A number of orientation effects in the scattering process are shown to be induced precisely by the second-order orientation. In particular, when nonpolarized light is scattered by an oriented atom, the scattering intensity in the perpendicular direction depends on the second-order orientation alone. The second-order orientation also preserves circular dichroism in the linear polarization of the forward-and back-scattered light.  相似文献

研究了Kerr介质腔中非线性J-C模型的辐射谱.导出了双模初始光场处于任意量子态时辐射谱的计算公式,给出了光场处于数态、相干态和压缩真空态时的数值结果,讨论了Kerr效应和初始场强对辐射谱的影响.发现在光子数态的情况下,Kerr效应使低频峰增强、高频峰减弱,并使各峰向右移动.在初始腔场为较强的相干态时,原子辐射谱明显地分成两个拱形的梳状峰群,Kerr效应的增强使左侧峰群增高,右侧的边峰受到抑制.在压缩真空态情况下,边带峰只出现在中心频率双峰的左侧,随Kerr效应和初始场的增强,边峰个数也随之增多.无论哪种情况都破坏谱结构的对称性,在强场条件下Kerr效应的影响更加显著.  相似文献

The filtered and unfiltered intensities of electrons (30 to 50 kev) scattered in thin polycrystalline silver foils (300 to 1400 Å) were measured by means of a retarding field apparatus in the temperature range from 170 to 380 °K. Further the absorption coefficients due to the inelastic and the different elastic scattering processes were determined. It is shown, that the diffuse elastic scattering intensity increases with temperature for all values of thickness and electron energy. From the measured absorption coefficients the contributions of the different elastic scattering processes to the total background intensity are calculated. It turns out, that the main contribution is due to multiple scattering processes including both Bragg reflections and thermal diffuse scattering. Furthermore it is shown, that in contrary to the filtered diagram the background intensity of the unfiltered diagram increases with temperature only for larger scattering angles. In the small angle region a reversed temperature behaviour is observed. This effect is caused by that part of inelastically scattered electrons at low angles coming directly from the primary beam and from the low order diffraction rings.  相似文献

The fluorescence spectrum of a two-level atom excited by the field, whose state represents a superposition of the coherent states, is investigated. It is shown that to each mode of the quantum-statistical distribution of the incident field, a spectral mode of the scattered radiation corresponds, and one can determine the number of statistical modes of the incident field from the number of spectral modes of the scattered field. This result is a consequence of the fact that in the quasi-classical limit, statistical modes of the superimposed state interact with the atom independently of one another.  相似文献

The nonlinear scattering of an ultrashort laser pulse by free electrons is considered. The pulse is described in the “Mexican hat” wavelet basis. The equation of motion for a charged particle in the field of a plane electromagnetic wave has an exact solution allowing, together with the instant spectrum approximation, the calculation of the intensity of nonlinear Thomson scattering for a high-intensity laser pulse. The spectral distribution of scattered radiation for the entire pulse duration is found by integrating with respect to time. The maximum of the emission spectrum of a free electron calculated in 1019–1021 W/cm2 fields lies in the UV spectral region between 3 and 12 eV. A part of the continuous spectrum achieves high photon energies. One percent of the scattered energy for the field intensity 1020 W/cm2 is concentrated in the range ħω > 2.7 × 102 eV, for a field intensity of 1021 W/cm2 in the range ħΩ > 7.9 × 102 eV, and for an intensity of 1022 W/cm2 in the range ħΩ > 2.45 × 105 eV. These results allow us to estimate nonlinear scattering as a source of hard X-rays.  相似文献

The electrophoresis of various colloidal suspensions has been investigated by laser light scattering. The electric field was applied to the solution by means of a narrow gap electrode configuration using a frequency modulated square wave electric field. The power spectrum of the intensity fluctuations of the scattered light was determined by direct sampling of the light intensity using an A/D converter and an on-line minicomputer. This experimental arrangement is capable of measuring very small Doppler shifts.  相似文献

Coherent scattering of a two-level atom in the field of a quantized standing wave of a micromaser is considered under conditions of initial quantum correlation between the atom and the field. Such a correlation can be produced by a broadband parametric source. The interaction leading to scattering of the atom from the nonuniform field occurs in the dispersion limit or in the wing of the absorption line of the atom. Apart from the quantized field, the atom simultaneously interacts with two classical counterpropagating waves with different frequencies, which are acting in the plane perpendicular to the atom’s propagation velocity and to the wavevector of the standing wave. Joint action of the quantized field and two classical waves induces effective two-photon and Raman resonance interaction on the working transition. The effective Hamiltonian of the interaction is derived using the unitary transformation method developed for a moving atom. A strong effect is detected, which makes it possible to distinguish the correlated initial state of the atom and the field in the scattering of atom from the state of independent systems. For all three waves, scattering is not observed when systems with quantum correlation are prepared using a high-intensity parametric source. Conversely, when the atom interacts only with the nonuniform field of the standing wave, scattering is not observed in the case of the initial factorized state.  相似文献

We present a pseudopotential calculation of the driving forces for atomic migration in metals in the presence of electron currents. When electrons are scattered by impurities in a metal, we find that a force is generally exerted on each atom in the vicinity of the scattering center. Because the scattering is predominantly elastic, it is possible to express this force field as the classical electrostatic force arising from the total electronic charge, as has been assumed by Friedel and Bosvieux. The electron charge density is determined from a pseudopotential calculation, and the resulting force is expressed as a sum of effective interactions between the diffusing atom and all crystal defects.The forces on an atom arising from the electron scattering and from the applied electric field together comprise the driving force which causes a net current of atoms. The driving forces are calculated for intestitial and vacancy migration in several metals, and the results are found to compare favorably with most experimental data.  相似文献

The differential spectra of a bremsstrahlung resulting from a 0.3–2 keV electron scattering by Ar atoms are studied. Photon energies within the ultrasoft X-ray band from 124 to 190.8 eV, which is characterized by the low dynamic polarizability of the Ar atom, are considered. For the entire spectrum of photon energies (124–190.8 eV), the intensity of the bremsstrahlung differential spectra first grows with an increase in the electron energy from 0.3 to 0.7 keV and then decreases as the electron energy increases from 0.7 to 2 keV. The increase in intensity is directly proportional, and the decrease is inversely proportional to the square root of the energy of the scattered electrons. Within the context of a "low-energy" approximation, the increase in the number of photons with the electron energy is due to the contribution of the atomic excitation and ionization channels being available during the bremsstrahlung process.  相似文献

Experimental data on depolarized light scattering in neon gas are presented, for densities less than 60 amagats. The line shapes are found to be exponential, and the intensity proportional to the square of the density. The results are then discussed in terms of a moment analysis of binary collisions, to show that they can be interpreted neither in the standard DID model, nor using the anisotropic pair polarizability calculated by Heller, Harris and Gelbart or by Oxtoby and Gelbart. A possible form of the pair polarizability is presented and found to yield a satisfactory correlation function of the scattered field.  相似文献

Results of a study of energy losses and electron transfer processes for grazing scattering of fluorine atoms and anions scattering along different azimuthal orientations of the TiO2 crystal are presented. We observe strong variations in the overall intensity of scattered particles which are due to channelling effects. The energy losses do not show strong variations as a function of crystal azimuth except for the case of scattering along the (0 0 1) direction between the bridging oxygen atom rows, where we also observe differences in the energy losses of scattered ions and neutrals. We attribute this to the fact that larger F survival occurs for trajectories staying farther from the surface, when also the energy losses remain small. The overall characteristics of energy losses are attributed mainly to trajectory effects due to scattering in regions of different electron density. Measurements of the ratio of scattered ions to the total scattered flux, i.e. the ion fractions which reflect electron capture and loss processes, show that these are not the same for incident anions and atoms. A strong difference for scattering along the (0 0 1) direction is observed, where at low incident energies a strong survival of incident ions occurs. These results are tentatively discussed in terms of non resonant electron capture at lattice O sites and electron loss into the conduction band or by collisional detachment with bridging O atoms.  相似文献

The excitation of flexural waves in a thin plate (film) by harmonically modulated laser radiation and their scattering by small fractal inhomogeneities are considered. An expression for the mean fluctuation intensity for the scattered wave field is obtained. A relationship between the intensity, parameters of the laser radiation and the plate, and the fractal dimension of inhomogeneities is found. The expected frequency dependence of the flexural wave attenuation in the plate due to their scattering by fractal inhomogeneities is discussed.  相似文献

The intensity of the spin assisted Raman scattering in the Eu-chalcogenides is calculated using the excited states which were used in the analysis of the optical absorption. Various mechanisms are examined for the Raman scattering. In these mechanisms, the cross effect of the 4f spin-orbit interaction and the exciton-phonon interaction is found to be the most important for the scattering intensity. The characteristics of the Raman scattering from this mechanism are as follows: When the frequency of the incident light is in the tail region of the absorption peak, the polarization of the scattered light is perpendicular to that of the incident light; when the light in the middle region of the absorption peak is applied, the polarization of the incident light is depolarized in the scattered light; the scattering intensity decreases when the spin fluctuation is suppressed by an application of magnetic field or by lowering temperature through the Curie temperature. These characteristics in the Raman scattering have been observed in the experiments.  相似文献

理论上研究了中红外强激光分别与长程库仑原子和短程势模型原子相互作用产生的高次谐波辐射.发现在相同激光参数条件下,与长程库仑原子的谐波辐射相比,短程原子具有更低的辐射效率,但在高频区域(接近cutoff位置),二者效率相似.通过对谐波辐射的时间频率分析发现,在短程模型原子谐波辐射中,长轨道发挥更重要的作用.利用其产生的高次谐波辐射,可以产生孤立阿秒脉冲.  相似文献

We present a reciprocity and unitarity preserving formulation of the scattering of a scalar plane wave from a two-dimensional, randomly rough surface on which the Neumann boundary condition is satisfied. The theory is formulated on the basis of the Rayleigh hypothesis in terms of a single-particle Green's function G(q|k) for the surface electromagnetic waves that exist at the surface due to its roughness, where k and q are the projections on the mean scattering plane of the wave vectors of the incident and scattered waves, respectively. The specular scattering is expressed in terms of the average of this Green's function over the ensemble of realizations of the surface profile function (G(q|k)). The Dyson equation satisfied by (G(q|k)) is presented, and the properties of the solution are discussed, with particular attention to the proper self-energy in terms of which the averaged Green's function is expressed. The diffuse scattering is expressed in terms of the ensemble average of a two-particle Green's function, which is the product of two single-particle Green's functions. The Bethe-Salpeter equation satisfied by the averaged two-particle Green's function is presented, and properties of its solution are discussed. In the small roughness limit, and with the irreducible vertex function approximated by the sum of the contribution from the maximally-crossed diagrams, which represent the coherent interference between all time-reversed scattering sequences, the solution of the Bethe-Salpeter equation predicts the presence of enhanced backscattering in the angular dependence of the intensity of the waves scattered diffusely.  相似文献

The spectral properties of an incoherently pumped one-atom laser operating in a regime of strong coupling are studied. The spectrum of the field outgoing from the cavity, the spectrum of resonance fluorescence of an atom, and the spectrum of the atom—field cross-correlation function are numerically calculated. Relations between the parameters of the system for which spectral lines corresponding to eigenstates of the Jaynes—Cummings Hamiltonian are resolved are found. A method for determining the widths of resonances from the spectrum of the atom—field cross-correlation function is proposed, and a procedure for measuring this function using spectroscopy of intensity fluctuations is described.  相似文献
