提出了一种用来描述空心光束的新理论模型——空心高斯光束模型,通过控制光束参数可以方便地调制空心光束黑斑的大小.导出了空心高斯光束经傍轴光学系统的解析传输变换公式.利用导出的公式计算分析了空心高斯光束在自由空间的传输特性.在实验上利用矩阵本征值方法设计了能输出空心高斯光束的光学谐振腔,对实验上得到的空心高斯光束进行了传输特性的研究.结果表明,理论和实验相吻合.该空心高斯光束产生的光势阱为控制冷原子提供了一条新途径. 关键词: 空心高斯光束 光学谐振腔 传输特性  相似文献

A model named modified hollow Gaussian beam (HGB) is proposed to describe a dark hollow beam with adjustable beam spot size, central dark size and darkness factor. In this modified model, both the beam spot size and the central dark size will be convergent to finite constants as the beam order approaches infinity, which are much different from that of the previous unmodified model, where the beam spot size and the central dark size will not be convergent as the beam order approaches infinity. The dependences of the propagation factor of modified and unmodified HGBs on the beam order are found to be the same. Based on the Collins integral, analytical formulas for the modified HGB propagating through aligned and misaligned optical system are derived. Some numerical examples are given.  相似文献

The normal sine hollow beam (NSHB) and anomalous sine hollow beam (ASHB) are proposed to describe the dark hollow beam (DHB). Based on the Collins formula, an analytical formula for NSHB (ASHB) through the ABCD optical system is derived. The intensity distributions of NSHB (ASHB) are characterized by the beam parameters and the propagation size. As the numerical example, the propagation properties of NSHB (ASHB) through the ABCD optical system have been demonstrated graphically. It is shown that NSHB (ASHB) will be evolved to the solid beam having the maximum light intensity in the beam center in free space. However, it will make the laser energy concentrate in the small area for NSHB (ASHB) through the convergent optical system.  相似文献

The on-axis scintillation index for a circular dark hollow beam (DHB) propagating in a weak turbulent atmosphere is formulated, and the scintillation properties of a DHB are investigated in detail. The scintillation index for a DHB reduces to the scintillation index for a Gaussian beam, an annular beam and a flat-topped beam under certain conditions. It is found that the scintillation index of a DHB is closely related to the beam parameters and can be lower than that of a Gaussian beam, an annular beam and a flat-topped beam in a weak turbulent atmosphere at smaller waist sizes and longer propagation lengths. Based on the generalized Raleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction integral, an analytical nonparaxial propagation formula of a partially coherent dark hollow beam (DHB) in free space is derived. The paraxial approximation is dealt with as a special case of our general result. By using the derived formula, the nonparaxial propagation properties of DHBs are studied and are compared with the paraxial results. It is shown that the nonparaxiality properties of a partially coherent DHB are closely related to its initial beam parameters (i.e., beam waist size, wavelength, coherence length, dark size) and the propagation distance.  相似文献

Based on the vectorial Rayleith-Sommerfeld formulae, the nonparaxial propagation properties of the vector hollow Gaussian beams (HGBs) through a circular aperture are studied in detail. We describe the derivation of the integral expressions of the propagation of nonparaxial vector HGBs through a circular aperture. The derived expression is independent the approximation of paraxial and far field, which are valid for either far and near field and for the systems in which aperture radius is comparable to or even smaller than wavelength. And it is also strict integral formula for the light field on the axis. Numerical calculation results indicate that there is no difference between derived formulae and the Collins formulae in the situation of paraxial approximation. Using the formula deduced, we calculate the propagation properties of HGBs. The calculated results indicate that the propagation field of vector hollow Gaussian beams is asymmetric in near field, while the propagation field is symmetric in far field. These research results could well shed light on the further understanding of the vectorial property of HGBs through a circular aperture, and would play a guiding role in the practical application of HGBs.  相似文献

Based on the tensor method, an analytical formula for hollow Gaussian beams (HGBs) generated by a triangular prism has been derived, and the propagation properties have been studied. It is shown that hollow elliptical Gaussian beams (HEGBs) can be obtained in the near field after the prism, and that the eccentricity of the output beam is affected by parameters such as the incidence angle, refractive index of the prism and the order of the HGB. It shows that by using a triangular prism one can conveniently obtain HEGBs.  相似文献

We present a systematic investigation on the dynamics of a hollow Gaussian beam (HGB) in metamaterials. We predict self-trapped propagation of HGBs and evolution of the beam is highly influenced by dimensionless dispersion coefficient (κ), which determines the strength of dispersion over diffraction. The evolutions of HGBs such as disappearance of single ringed intensity pattern and appearance of patterns with a central bright spot are achievable with less propagation distance in metamaterials with higher values of κ. On the other hand, metamaterials with low values of κ can preserve single ring intensity distribution over a long propagation distance without focusing. When the strength of dispersion over diffraction increases, it significantly influences the evolution of the beam and may lead to the formation of tightly focussed beam with high peak intensity at the center. The phenomenon of tight focussing is found to have some applications in trapping of nanosized particles.  相似文献

Propagation of a linearly polarized partially coherent dark hollow beam (DHB) through a high numerical aperture (NA) thin lens is formulated. The tight focusing properties, such as the degree of polarization, the intensity distribution, and the degree of coherence, of a partially coherent DHB are investigated in detail. It is found that the focusing properties of a partially coherent DHB are closely determined by the initial coherence, beam order, and the NA of the thin lens.  相似文献

We report the experimental generation of a high-quality partially coherent dark hollow beam (DHB) by coupling a partially coherent beam into a multimode fiber (MMF) with a suitable incidence angle. The interference experiment of the generated partially coherent DHB passing through double slits is demonstrated. It is found that the coupling efficiency of the MMF, the quality, and the coherence of the generated partially coherent DHB are closely controlled by the coherence of the input beam.  相似文献

We report analytic formulas for the elements of the 2 × 2 cross spectral density matrix of a partially coherent dark hollow beam (DHB) with circular symmetry propagating through the turbulent atmosphere. In this paper, we present a new model, hollow Gaussian Schell-model beams (HGSMBs), to describe the practical dark hollow beams. An analytical propagation formula for HGSMBs passing through a paraxial first-order optical system is derived based on the theory of coherence. Based on the derived formula, an application example showing the influence of spatial coherence on the propagation of beams is illustrated. It is found that the beam propagating properties of HGSMBs will be greatly affected by their spatial coherence. Our model provides a very convenient way for analyzing the propagation properties of partially coherent dark hollow beams.  相似文献

Based on the refractive beam shaping system, the transformation of a quasi-Gaussian beam into a dark hollow Gaussian beam by a phase-only liquid crystal spatial light modulator (LC-SLM) is proposed. According to the energy conservation and constant optical path principle, the phase distribution of the aspheric lens and the phase-only LC-SLM can modulate the wave-front properly to generate the hollow beam. The numerical simulation results indicate that, the dark hollow intensity distribution of the output shaped beam can be maintained well for a certain propagation distance during which the dark region will not decrease whereas the ideal hollow Gaussian beam will do. By designing the phase modulation profile, which loaded into the LC-SLM carefully, the experimental results indicate that the dark hollow intensity distribution of the output shaped beam can be maintained well even at a distance much more than 550 mm from the LC-SLM, which agree with the numerical simulation results.  相似文献

An alternative theoretical model named partially coherent hollow elliptical Gaussian beam (HEGB) is proposed to describe a partially coherent beam with an elliptical dark hollow profile. Explicit expression for the propagation factors of a partially coherent HEGB is derived. Based on the generalized Collins formula, analytical formulae for the cross-spectral density and mean-squared beam width of a partially coherent HEGB, propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system, are derived. Propagation properties of a partially coherent HEGB in free space are studied as a numerical example.  相似文献

Based on the paraxial vectorial theory of beams propagating in uniaxially anisotropic media, we have derived the analytical propagation equations of hollow Gaussian beams (HGBs) in uniaxial crystals, and given the typical numerical example to illustrate our analytical results. Due to the anisotropy crystals, the ordinary and extraordinary beams originated by incident HGBs propagate with different diffraction lengths, thus the linear polarization state and axial symmetry of incident HGBs do not remain during propagating in crystals.  相似文献

In recent years the partially coherent beams have attracted very much due to novel properties and its applications. In this paper the tight focusing properties of radially polarized partially coherent dark hollow beam (DHB) through a high numerical aperture lens are investigated numerically based on vectorial Debye theory in detail. The result shows that the optical intensity distribution in the focal region directly fluctuates due to small change in coherence length and high numerical aperture angle of the focused radially polarized partially coherent DHB.  相似文献

基于广义惠更斯-菲涅耳衍射积分公式,获得了余弦-高斯关联结构函数部分相干贝塞尔-高斯光束交叉谱密度函数通过近轴ABCD光学系统传输时的解析表达式.并因此探讨了该类光束经过自由空间传输时光强分布的演化特性.结果表明,余弦-高斯关联部分相干贝塞尔-高斯光束在合适的参数条件下能呈现自分裂等奇异传输特性.特别地,这种自分裂可实现暗空心光束的复制,即从一个暗空心光束获得四个相似的暗空心光束.并且发现这些传输特性和关联结构函数结构密切相关,因此调控关联结构函数分布以实现调制光的相干长度和空间分布性质从而可实现操控光束传输行为.由于暗空心光束在工程技术领域的重要应用价值,本文的研究结果提供了实现四暗空心光束的可能方案,从而在激光通信、微粒操控等方面具有重要的应用前景.  相似文献

We formulate and evaluate in terms of graphical outputs, source and receiver plane expressions, the complex degree of coherence, beam size variation and power in bucket performance for higher order partially coherent dark hollow beams propagating in turbulent atmosphere. Our formulation is able to cover square, rectangular, circular, elliptical geometries for dark hollow and flat-topped beams in one single expression. From the graphical outputs of the receiver plane, it is observed that higher order partially coherent dark hollow beams will initially develop an outer ring around a central lobe, but will eventually evolve towards a Gaussian shape as the propagation distance is extended. It is further observed that stronger turbulence levels and greater partial coherence have similar effects on beam profile. During propagation, modulus of complex degree of coherence of partially coherent dark hollow beams appears to rise above that of the source plane values, reaching as high as near unity. Beam size analysis shows that, among the types examined, (nearly) flat-topped beam experiences the least beam expansion. Power in bucket analysis indicates that lowest order square fully coherent dark beam offers the best power capturing.  相似文献

The propagation of phase-locked circular dark hollow beams array in a turbulent atmosphere is studied. An analytical expression for the average intensity distribution at the receiving plane is obtained based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle. The effects of turbulence, dark parameter and beam order of the beams array on the intensity pattern are studied and analyzed. It is found that the intensity pattern of the phase-locked circular dark hollow beams array will evolve from a multiple-spot-pattern into a Gaussian beam spot under the isotropic influence of the turbulence. The intensity pattern of beam array with a larger dark parameter and beam order evolves into the Gaussian-shape faster with increasing propagation distance.  相似文献
