Fractional calculus is an extension of derivatives and integrals to non-integer orders, and a partial differential equation involving the fractional calculus operators is called the fractional PDE. They have many applications in science and engineering. However not only the analytical solution existed for a limited number of cases, but also the numerical methods are very complicated and difficult. In this paper, we newly establish the simulation method based on the operational matrices of the orthogonal functions. We formulate the operational matrix of integration in a unified framework. By using the operational matrix of integration, we propose a new numerical method for linear fractional partial differential equation solving. In the method, we (1) use the Haar wavelet; (2) establish a Lyapunov-type matrix equation; and (3) obtain the algebraic equations suitable for computer programming. Two examples are given to demonstrate the simplicity, clarity and powerfulness of the new method.  相似文献

In this paper, an efficient and accurate numerical method is presented for solving two types of fractional partial differential equations. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. Our approach is based on Bernoulli wavelets collocation techniques together with the fractional integral operator, described in the Riemann‐Liouville sense. The main characteristic behind this approach is to reduce such problems to those of solving systems of algebraic equations, which greatly simplifies the problem. By using Newton's iterative method, this system is solved and the solution of fractional partial differential equations is achieved. Some results concerning the error analysis are obtained. The validity and applicability of the method are demonstrated by solving four numerical examples. Numerical examples are presented in the form of tables and graphs to make comparisons with the results obtained by other methods and with the exact solutions much easier.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to present an analytical approximation solution for linear and nonlinear multi-order fractional differential equations (FDEs) by extending the application of the shifted Chebyshev operational matrix. For this purpose, we convert FDE into a counterpart system and then using proposed method to solve the resultant system. Our results in solving four different linear and nonlinear FDE, confirm the accuracy of proposed method.  相似文献

In this article, a new method is presented for the solution of high‐order linear partial differential equations (PDEs) with variable coefficients under the most general conditions. The method is based on the approximation by the truncated double Chebyshev series. PDE and conditions are transformed into the matrix equations, which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations with the unknown Chebyshev coefficients, via Chebyshev collocation points. Combining these matrix equations and then solving the system yields the Chebyshev coefficients of the solution function. Some numerical results are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2009  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to give a Chebyshev polynomial approximation for the solution of mth-order linear delay differential equations with variable coefficients under the mixed conditions. For this purpose, a new Chebyshev collocation method is introduced. This method is based on taking the truncated Chebyshev expansion of the function in the delay differential equations. Hence, the resulting matrix equation can be solved, and the unknown Chebyshev coefficients can be found approximately. In addition, examples that illustrate the pertinent features of the method are presented, and the results of this investigation are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we present two new numerically stable methods based on Haar and Legendre wavelets for one- and two-dimensional parabolic partial differential equations (PPDEs). This work is the extension of the earlier work ,  and  from one- and two-dimensional boundary-value problems to one- and two- dimensional PPDEs. Two generic numerical algorithms are derived in two phases. In the first stage a numerical algorithm is derived by using Haar wavelets and then in the second stage Haar wavelets are replaced by Legendre wavelets in quest for better accuracy. In the proposed methods the time derivative is approximated by first order forward difference operator and space derivatives are approximated using Haar (Legendre) wavelets. Improved accuracy is obtained in the form of wavelets decomposition. The solution in this process is first obtained on a coarse grid and then refined towards higher accuracy in the high resolution space. Accuracy wise performance of the Legendre wavelets collocation method (LWCM) is better than the Haar wavelets collocation method (HWCM) for problems having smooth initial data or having no shock phenomena in the solution space. If sharp transitions exists in the solution space or if there is a discontinuity between initial and boundary conditions, LWCM loses its accuracy in such cases, whereas HWCM produces a stable solution in such cases as well. Contrary to the existing methods, the accuracy of both HWCM and LWCM do not degrade in case of Neumann’s boundary conditions. A distinctive feature of the proposed methods is its simple applicability for a variety of boundary conditions. Performances of both HWCM and LWCM are compared with the most recent methods reported in the literature. Numerical tests affirm better accuracy of the proposed methods for a range of benchmark problems.  相似文献

In this article, Haar wavelets have been employed to obtain solutions of boundary value problems for linear fractional partial differential equations. The differential equations are reduced to Sylvester matrix equations. The algorithm is novel in the sense that it effectively incorporates the aperiodic boundary conditions. Several examples with numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the simplicity and effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

In this paper, a fast numerical algorithm based on the Taylor wavelets is proposed for finding the numerical solutions of the fractional integro‐differential equations with weakly singular kernels. The properties of Taylor wavelets are given, and the operational matrix of fractional integration is constructed. These wavelets are utilized to reduce the solution of the given fractional integro‐differential equation to the solution of a linear system of algebraic equations. Also, convergence of the proposed method is studied. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique.  相似文献

We identify the stochastic processes associated with one-sided fractional partial differential equations on a bounded domain with various boundary conditions. This is essential for modelling using spatial fractional derivatives. We show well-posedness of the associated Cauchy problems in C0(Ω) and L1(Ω). In order to do so we develop a new method of embedding finite state Markov processes into Feller processes on bounded domains and then show convergence of the respective Feller processes. This also gives a numerical approximation of the solution. The proof of well-posedness closes a gap in many numerical algorithm articles approximating solutions to fractional differential equations that use the Lax–Richtmyer Equivalence Theorem to prove convergence without checking well-posedness.  相似文献

In this paper, a new and effective direct method to determine the numerical solution of pantograph equation, pantograph equation with neutral term and Multiple-delay Volterra integral equation with large domain is proposed. The pantograph equation is a delay differential equation which arises in quite different fields of pure and applied mathematics, such as number theory, dynamical systems, probability, mechanics and electrodynamics. The method consists of expanding the required approximate solution as the elements of Chebyshev cardinal functions. The operational matrices for the integration, product and delay of the Chebyshev cardinal functions are presented. A general procedure for forming these matrices is given. These matrices play an important role in modelling of problems. By using these operational matrices together, a pantograph equation can be transformed to a system of algebraic equations. An efficient error estimation for the Chebyshev cardinal method is also introduced. Some examples are given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method and a comparison is made with existing results.  相似文献

A finite integration method is proposed in this paper to deal with partial differential equations in which the finite integration matrices of the first order are constructed by using both standard integral algorithm and radial basis functions interpolation respectively. These matrices of first order can directly be used to obtain finite integration matrices of higher order. Combining with the Laplace transform technique, the finite integration method is extended to solve time dependent partial differential equations. The accuracy of both the finite integration method and finite difference method are demonstrated with several examples. It has been observed that the finite integration method using either radial basis function or simple linear approximation gives a much higher degree of accuracy than the traditional finite difference method.  相似文献

In this work successive differentiation method is applied to solve highly nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) such as Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation, Burger's equation, Fornberg–Whitham equation, and Gardner equation. To show the efficacy of this new technique, figures have been incorporated to compare exact solution and results of this method. Wave variable is used to convert the highly nonlinear PDE into ordinary differential equation with order reduction. Then successive differentiation method is utilized to obtain the numerical solution of considered PDEs in this paper. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, a boundary value problem for delay differential equations of population dynamics is considered. We obtain approximate solutions by using Chebyshev polynomial series and Newton–Raphson's procedure and give the error estimation. The method of the error estimation has been obtained in an existence theorem proved by a part of the authors. We carry out some numerical experiments by a computer language MATLAB.  相似文献

Combat modelling with partial differential equations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The limitations of the classic work of Lanchester on non-spatial ordinary differential equations for modelling combat are well known. We present work seeking to more realistically represent troop dynamics and to enable a deeper understanding of the nature of conflict. We extend Lanchesters ODEs, constructing a new physically meaningful system of partial differential equations. Spatial force movement and troop interaction components are represented with both local and non-local terms, expanding upon the swarming behaviour of fish and birds proposed by Mogilner et al. We are able to reproduce crucial behaviour such as the emergence of cohesive density profiles and troop regrouping after suffering losses in both one and two dimensions.  相似文献

This paper presents a computational method for solving a class of system of nonlinear singular fractional Volterra integro-differential equations. First, existences of a unique solution for under studying problem is proved. Then, shifted Chebyshev polynomials and their properties are employed to derive a general procedure for forming the operational matrix of fractional derivative for Chebyshev wavelets. The application of this operational matrix for solving mentioned problem is explained. In the next step, the error analysis of the proposed method is investigated. Finally, some examples are included for demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, a new computational scheme based on operational matrices (OMs) of two‐dimensional wavelets is proposed for the solution of variable‐order (VO) fractional partial integro‐differential equations (PIDEs). To accomplish this method, first OMs of integration and VO fractional derivative (FD) have been derived using two‐dimensional Legendre wavelets. By implementing two‐dimensional wavelets approximations and the OMs of integration and variable‐order fractional derivative (VO‐FD) along with collocation points, the VO fractional partial PIDEs are reduced into the system of algebraic equations. In addition to this, some useful theorems are discussed to establish the convergence analysis and error estimate of the proposed numerical technique. Furthermore, computational efficiency and applicability are examined through some illustrative examples.  相似文献

Nonlinear partial differential equation with random Neumann boundary conditions are considered. A stochastic Taylor expansion method is derived to simulate these stochastic systems numerically. As examples, a nonlinear parabolic equation (the real Ginzburg-Landau equation) and a nonlinear hyperbolic equation (the sine-Gordon equation) with random Neumann boundary conditions are solved numerically using a stochastic Taylor expansion method. The impact of boundary noise on the system evolution is also discussed.  相似文献
