Migrating diurnal tide in the MLT region is examined by the application of Hough mode decomposition with the tide delineated from the SABER/TIMED temperatures over 2002-2006. The decomposition results show that in the height range 60-100km, the (1, 1) mode is the most predominant among eight leading Hough modes including four propagating and four trapped modes. It exhibits a sustained maximum at 97 km and significant semi-annual oscillation. Additionally, a novel feature of inter-annual variation with period of about two years is clearly seen in the (1, 1) mode, e.g., repeated maxima are seen at the March equinox of 2002, 2004 and 2006, respectively. This feature is further manifested by the tidal amplitudes in the height range 70-100km in the height-time cross-section at the equator. It is likely of the QBO as the height range just coincides to where the zonal mean zonal winds derived by using the UARS data exhibiting the QBO. The other results show that the (1, 2) mode is important at 〈 80 km exhibiting comparable amplitude to that of the (1, 1) mode, and in particular the nearly anti-correlation with the (1, 1) mode. The tide at about 85 km is suggested of rather complex as the four trapped modes exhibit maximum at these heights, which indicates the presence of local excitations or sources at below.  相似文献

Summary Principal purposes of the International Space Year (ISY) have been discussed. In view of the increasing significance of ecological problems it is becoming clear that there have to be two key directions of the ISY programmes: 1) various problems relevant to the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (global climate change, global biosphere dynamics, regional ecological problems: desertification, forest decline, acid rains etc.); 2) comparative planetology. One of the most urgent problems is connected with the accomplishment, of the ?Mission to Planet Earth? which has to be based on the creation of an optimal global system of satellite and conventional ecological observations (especially for various typical ecosystems). Studies of the other planets have to be coordinated with requirements of further investigations in the field of the Earth's ecology.  相似文献

pH-dependent aggregation of thiol-capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) in solutions was observed with a confocal microscope. The average size of the QD aggregates increased from 28 nm to 1.4 μm as the pH decreased from 12 to 3. The basic condition improved the dispersion of QDs while the acidic condition caused the detachment of surface ligands, leading to the aggregation of QDs. A PL lifetime of 80 ns was detected for QDs at pH from 12 to 7, while it was shortened to 57 and 34 ns at pH 5 and 3, respectively, due to the formation of surface defects.  相似文献

The origin and destination (O-D) matrix estimation is an important problem in traffic networks. We apply the gravitation model to express the preference attachment and to analyse the statistical characteristics of the traffic flow in each O-D pair in theory. It is found that the distribution of the future O-D matrix decays as a power law. Additionally, different exponents are obtained for both the constant and variable link cost.  相似文献

Global solar radiation data for sites in Chile are analysed and presented in a form suitable for their use in engineering. A new model for monthly average data is developed to predict monthly average global radiation with acceptable accuracy by using actinographic data due to scarcing of pyranometer data. Use of the new quadratic model is proposed because of its relatively wider spectrum of values for Angstrom coefficients ao, al, and a2.  相似文献

In this report we have investigated the temperature dependence of photoluminescence (PL) from self-assembled InAs quantum dots (QDs) covered by an InAlAs/InGaAs combination layer. The ground state experiences an abnormal variation of PL linewidth from 15 K up to room temperature. Meanwhile, the PL integrated intensity ratio of the first excited state to the ground state for InAs QDs unexpectedly decreases with increasing temperature, which we attribute to the phonon bottleneck effect. We believe that these experimental results are closely related to the partially coupled quantum dots system and the large energy separation between the ground and the first excited states.  相似文献

We demonstrate the advantages of using high levels of rhodium (2000–3200 ppm) to dope barium titanate for achieving finite absorption coefficients (0.36 cm-1), high two-beam coupling gain (11.5 cm-1), and acceptable response time (7 s) at 1.06 μm. We also report on the mass spectroscopy measurements on Rh:BaTiO3 samples indicating a small segregation coefficient for rhodium (below 0.01) and the presence of a relatively large concentration (6000 ppm) of unintentionally added strontium. Six kinds of Ni-A1 alloy nanowires are optimized by means of simulated annealing. The optimized structures show that the Ni-A1 alloy nanowires are helical shell structures that are wound by three atomic strands, which is very similar to the case with pure metallic nanowires. The densities of states (DOS), transmission function T( E), current-voltage (I - V) curves, and the conductance spectra of these alloy nanowires are also investigated. Our results indicate that the conductance spectra depend on the geometric structure properties and the ingredients of the alloy nanowires. We observe and study the nonlinear contribution to the I-V characteristics that are due to the quantum size effect and the impurity effect. The addition of Ni atoms decreases the conductance of the Ni-A1 alloy nanowire because the doping atom Ni change the electronic band structures and the charge density distribution. The interesting statistical results shed light on the physics of quantum transport at the nano-scale.  相似文献

In the introductory part the paper presents some SODAR results on diurnal variations of different boundary layer structures from measurements during the KOPEX-experiment at a city station and a suburban station. In Sect. 1 the investigations about wave processes in the planetary boundary layer are discussed. The composition and size of optically active CdxZn1−xSe/ZnSe quantum dots are estimated with a previously developed method. The results are then compared with those obtained for CdxZn1−xSe/Zn0.97Be0.03Se QDs. We show that introducing Be into the barrier material enhances both Cd composition and quantum size effect of optically active quantum dots.  相似文献

The rate of a chemical reaction is expressed in terms of the correlation functions which are found from the full system of hydrodynamic equations in reactive systems. In the limiting cases one obtains all three types of behavior of reaction rates near the critical points found in experiments (slowing-down, speeding-up, insensitivity to criticality). We use the Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) to quantify underlying trends in long-term correlated records. Our approach is based on the fact that different orders of DFA are affected differently by trends. For a given instrumental record of length N, we compare the fluctuation exponent α0 of DFA0 where trends are not being eliminated, with the fluctuation exponent α2 of DFA2 where possible linear trends in the instrumental record are being eliminated. From this we deduce numerically the probability density p(A) that in the considered long-term correlated record, a linear trend with a slope between A and occurs. Without loss of generality we focus on Gaussian distributed data. As an example, we apply our analysis to several long temperature records (Melbourne, Oxford, Prague, Pusan, Uppsala, and Vienna), where we discuss the trends within the last 90 years, which may originate from both, urban and global warming.  相似文献

Nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent (NLLE) is applied to quantitatively determine the local predictability limit of chaotic systems. As an example, we find that the local predictability limit of Henon attractor varies considerably with time, and some underlying phase-spatial structure does not appear. The local predictability limit of initially adjacent points in phase space may be completely different. This will cause difficulties in making the long-time analogue forecast.  相似文献

The effects of partial substitution of Mn for Co on the thermoelectric properties of Ca3MnxCo4−xO9 (x=0, 0.03, 0.9), prepared by sol-gel process, were investigated at the temperatures from 380 K down to 5 K. The results indicate that the substitution of Mn for Co results in increase in thermopower at temperatures >∼80 K, and substantial (23-31% at 300 K) decrease in lattice thermal conductivity in the whole temperature range investigated. The temperature behavior of ZT suggests that Ca3MnxCo4−xO9 with light Mn substitution would be a promising candidate for high-temperature thermoelectric applications.  相似文献

At the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Center, a monostatic Doppler SODAR has been operated near a 200 m high meteorological tower. Vertical profiles of the components of the wind vector and of the variances of the vertical wind and of the horizontal wind direction have been sampled continuously from the SODAR and the tower instruments as 30-min mean values. During seven episodes lasting more than 2 h, the instantaneous vertical wind speed was measured simultaneously by a sonic anemometer and the SODAR, and spectra were calculated. An intercomparison of the spectra and wind data measured directly by the SODAR and the tower instruments has been performed by a linear regression and correlation analysis referring to different height levels of measurement and stability classes.Systematic and statistically distributed differences among the data measured by the SODAR and the in situ instruments are discussed. Our investigation shows that the variance of only the vertical wind speed can be measured reliably by a SODAR. The variances of the horizontal wind direction and the elevation angle of the wind vector should not be used in a routine manner from a SODAR.  相似文献

In a systematic investigation has been found that ligands play an important role in both the water-phase preparation and optical properties of CdTe quantum dots. Experiments were performed using three typical thioalkyl acids as ligands, namely mercaptoacetic acid (MAA), l-cysteine (Cys) and reduced glutathione (GSH). The growth rate and size-distribution of CdTe quantum dots (QDs) are shown to depend on the type of ligands. A proper choice of ligand enables to make lager nanocrystals with narrower size-distribution. The effects of pH (buffer solution), illumination, heating and cations on the spectroscopic properties of CdTe QDs for the three ligands are reported. In addition, three same-size CdTe QDs were individually characterized by micellar electrokinetic capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescent detection, which proved their monodisperse size-distribution and different electric charge distribution on the surface for each of the three different type of QDs.  相似文献

The effects of Cr doping on Mn sites in the electron-doped manganites La0.9Te0.1MnO3 have been studied by preparing the series La0.9Te0.1Mn1−xCrxO3 (0.05≤x≤0.20). Upon Cr doping, both the Curie temperature TC and magnetization M are suppressed. The resistivity measurements indicate that there exists a weak metal-insulator (M-I) transition for the sample with x=0.05, with an increase in the doping level, the M-I transition disappears and the resistivity increases. Thermopower S(T) exhibits a maximum near TC for all samples. By fitting the S(T) and ρ(T) curves, it is found that the temperature dependences of both S(T) and ρ(T) in the high temperature paramagnetic (PM) region follow the small polaron conduction (SPC) mechanism for all samples. The fitting parameters obtained imply changes of both the average-hopping distance of the polarons and the polaron concentration with Cr doping in our studied samples. In the case of the thermal conductivity κ(T), the variation of κ(T) is analyzed based on the combined effects due to the suppression of the local Mn3+O6 Jahn-Teller (JT) lattice distortion because of the substitution of Cr3+ for Mn3+ ions, which results in the increase in κ, and the introduction of the disorder due to Cr-doping, which contributes to the decrease in κ.  相似文献

Effects of NaN3 added in Fe-C system to synthesize nitric diamond at high pressure and high temperature are investigated. Diamond crystals with high nitrogen concentration are synthesized by the system of Fe-C and NaN3 additive at pressure 5.8 GPa and at temperatures 1750-1780 K for 15 min. The synthetic diamond crystals have a cubo-octahedral or octahedral shape with yellowish green or green colour. Some disfigurements are observed on the surfaces of most diamond crystals. The composition and content of inclusions formed by iron in diamond are changed and iron nitride is detected in diamond crystals synthesized with Fe-C-NaN3 additive. As the amount of NaN3 additive increases, Fe3C decreases and iron nitride increases with α-Fe being nearly constant. Moreover, the nitrogen concentrations in diamond crystals synthesized with 1.5 wt% NaN3 additive is up to 2250ppm in substitutional form.  相似文献

The analysis of EPR spectra obtained from iron doped KTaO3 crystals in the as-grown state revealed three dominant iron centers: Fe3+-OI, axial Fe-centers with spinS = 3/2 and rhombic Fe3+. By comparison with data from literature possible assignments for the center withS = 3/2 are discussed. For the rhombic species the temperature dependence of the main parameters of the Spin- Hamiltonian was measured. The result makes it most plausible that only one rhombic iron center exists in KTaO3, in contrast with literature. The understanding of the EPR spectra allows us to assign transitions, observed at very low magnetic fields by optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR), to this rhombic Fe center. On this basis, the magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) of this defect could be identified using the method of tagged-MCD. This spectrum is compared to the tagged-MCD of Fe3+-O1 and of axial Fe4+ centers, which may be generated metastably by optical charge transfer. Considerably different structures in the MCD spectra of both Fe3+ centers indicate different local surroundings and electronic states.Dedicated to O. F.
