The rotation set, , of a Lebesgue measurable real valued function on the circle is the set of R for which converges as n for almost every x. Z. L. Buczolich has constructed a non-integrable function whose rotation set contains at least countably many irrational rotations. In this paper we construct a function whose rotation set has uncountable intersection with each non-empty open subset of R.  相似文献

On recurrence     
Summary LetT be a non-singular ergodic automorphism of a Lebesgue space (X,L,) and letf: X be a measurable function. We define the notion of recurrence of such a functionf and introduce the recurrence setR(f)={:f– is recurrent}. If , then R()={0}, but in general recurrence sets can be very complicated. We prove various conditions for a number to lie in R(f) and, more generally, forR(f) to be non-empty. The results in this paper have applications to the theory of random walks with stationary increments.  相似文献

Let X be a completely regular space. The customary -field is the coarsest -field on the space of Bairemeasures on X which makes (A) measurable for any Baire set A. We compare the customary -field with the Baire and Borel -field induced by the weak* topology which lies on the dual space C(X). In (2.3) it is shown that the customary -field is just the Baire -field. In part 3 necessary and sufficient conditions are given under which the set of -smooth measures is measurable with respect to the Borel -field which lies on the positive cone of the space of finitely additive, regular measures C(X). Finally, a decomposition theorem for generalized kernels is proved. The -smooth part of a generalized kernel is a kernel again if certain conditions are fulfilled.  相似文献

In this paper we continue the study of structures of various types initiated by the author in the earlier paper Structures of extensions (Ref. Zh. Mat., 1974, 4A361). The present paper is devoted to the so-called structure of topological type. By a structure of topological type on the set X is meant a topological structure, defined on some set obtained from X, and possibly additional sets, by a totally ordered sequence of operations of unions of sets, products of sets, and passage to the set of subsets. We study certain structures of topological type: bitopological (Sec. 2) and settopological (Sec. 3). A bitopological structure on the set X is any topological structure on the set X×X, and a bitopological space is a pair (X,). This concept is a natural extension of the concept of a bitopological space as a set X on which there are given two topological structures 1 and 2-these structures define a structure =1×2 on the set X×X. A settopological structure on the set X is any topological structure on the set={A¦A. If X is a smooth curve defined over the real numbers , we show that K n (X) is the sum of a divisible group and a finite elementary Abelian 2-group when n 2. We determine the torsion subgroup of K n (X), which is a finite sum of copies of and 2, only depending on the topological invariants of X() and X(), and show that (for n 2) these torsion subgroups are periodic of order 8.  相似文献

In the context of a transient Borel right Markov process with a fixed excessive measure , we characterize the regular strongly supermedian kernels, producing smooth measures by the Revuz correspondence. In the case of the measures charging no -semipolar sets, this is the analytical counterpart of a probabilistic result of Revuz, Fukushima, and Getoor and Fitzsimmons, concerning the positive continuous additive functionals. We also consider the case of the measures charging no set that is both -polar and -negligible (U being the potential part of ), answering to a problem of Revuz.  相似文献

We prove two central limit theorems for real identically distribution random variables where the distribution is a complex-valued Borel measure . The results involve the weak convergence of the suitably scaledn-fold convolution of certain complex atomic or absolutely continuous measures of spectral radius 1 to ahypergaussian measure whose Fourier-Stieltjes transform is exp(–2 for a positive integer . The proof uses a generalization of the method of characteristic functions. Counter-examples are given to rather more general statements that had appeared previously in the literature. This research arose in connection with problems related to general tauberian theorems on the line for complexvalued summability methods which are discussed at the end of the paper. Some interesting examples are given generalizing well-known theorems related to Euler and Borel summability.  相似文献

Using a new lemma indicated by the title, and a recent measure preserving version of Lusin's Theorem, we prove the following theorem: Any isomorphism-invariant measure theoretic property which is typical for automorphisms of a Lebesgue space is also typical for Lebesgue measure preserving homeomorphisms of the unit cubeI n ,n2. We also prove a partial converse of this theorem. Taken together, these results clarify the relationship between pairs of theorems proved by several authors, which established the typicality of specific properties (such as ergodicity and weak mixing) separately in the measurable and continuous cases.  相似文献

We define a subdivision functor G for semisimplicial sets such that GXGY implies XY for all pairs of semisimplicial sets X, Y and (GX)1(GY)1 implies XY, too, but only, as far as we know, for pairs of weakly degenerate semisimplicial sets X, Y. These results are analogous to theorems on simplicial complexes which have been proved by Finney [1] and Segal [6].
