An investigation has been made on heavy ion‐acoustic (HIA) nonplanar shocks and solitons in an unmagnetized, collisionless, strongly coupled plasma whose constituents are strongly correlated adiabatic inertial heavy ions, weakly correlated nonextensive distributed electrons and Maxwellian light ions. By using appropriate nonlinear equations for our strongly coupled plasma system and the well‐known reductive perturbation technique, a modified Burgers (mB) equation and a modified Korteweg‐de Vries (mK‐dV) equation have been derived. They are also numerically solved in order to investigate the basic features (viz. polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) of cylindrical and spherical shock/solitary waves in such a strongly coupled plasma system. The roles of heavy ion dynamics, nonextensivity of electrons, and other plasma parameters arised in this investigation have significantly modified the basic features of the cylindrical and spherical HIA solitary and shock waves. The findings of our results obtained from this theoretical investigation may be useful in understanding the nonlinear phenomena associated with the cylindrical and spherical HIA waves both in space and laboratory plasmas. A dusty multi-ion plasma system consisting of non-isothermal (trapped) electrons, Maxwellian (isothermal) light positive ions, warm heavy negative ions and extremely massive charge fluctuating stationary dust have been considered. The dust-ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves associated with negative ion dynamics, Maxwellian (isothermal) positive ions, trapped electrons and charge fluctuating stationary dust have been investigated by employing the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of such dust-ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves have been identified. The implications of our findings in space and laboratory dusty multi-ion plasmas are discussed.  相似文献

The effects of head-on collision on dust acoustic (DA) solitary and shock waves in dusty plasma are investigated considering positively charged inertial dust, Boltzmann distributed negatively charged heavy ions, positively charged light ions, and superthermal electrons in the plasma system. The nonlinear Korteweg-de-Vries (KdV) Burger equations are derived taking the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo method into account to study the characteristic properties of nonlinearity and production of solitary shock due to collisions. The study reveals that the amplitudes and widths of the DA shock waves are decreasing with increasing viscosity, electron to dust density ratio, and dust to ion temperature ratio, while they are increasing due to the presence of superthermal electrons. The nonlinearity of DA waves are enhanced with increasing density ratio of electron to dust and temperature ratio of dust to ion and electron, respectively, but it is reducing with superthermal electrons. The phase shifts of DA solitary waves are found to decrease with rising superthermality of electrons and increase with the density ratio of electron to dust.  相似文献

The properties of obliquely propagating ion-acoustic waves have been investigated in multi-ions magnetized plasma comprising of inertial, positively and negatively charged ion fluids, trapped electrons, and negatively charged stationary heavy ions. The propagation of the waves is oblique to the ambient magnetic field which is along the z-direction. Only fast type of modes exists in the linear regime. The reductive perturbation method was adopted to derive the Korteweg– de Vries (KdV) and Burger equations, as well as the solitary and shock wave solutions of the evolved equations, have been used to analyze the properties of the small but finite amplitude waves. The effects of the constituent plasma parameters, namely, the trapping effect of electrons, the electron degenerate temperature and the viscosity coefficient on the dynamics of the small amplitude solitary and shock waves have been examined. The influence of the magnetic field and the obliquity parameter on the propagation characteristics of ion-acoustic waves are discussed.  相似文献

The heavy ion-acoustic solitary waves(HIASWs) in a magnetized, collisionless, space plasma system(containing dynamical heavy ions and bi-kappa distributed electrons of two distinct temperatures) have been theoretically investigated. The Korteweg-de Vries(K-dV), modified K-dV(MK-dV), and higher-order MK-dV(HMK-dV) equations are derived by employing the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of HIASWs(viz. speed, polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) are found to be significantly modified by the effects of number density and temperature of different plasma species, and external magnetic field(obliqueness). The K-dV and HM-Kd V equations give rise to both compressive and rarefactive solitary structures, whereas the MK-dV equation supports only the compressive solitary structures. The implication of our results in some space and laboratory plasma situations are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Properties of nonplanar (viz. cylindrical and spherical) dust ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary and shock waves propagating in a dusty plasma containing charge fluctuating stationary dust, inertial warm ions, and non-isothermal electrons following a vortex-like distribution, are investigated by the reductive perturbation method. It has been shown that all the basic features of the DIA solitary and shock waves are significantly modified by the effects of vortex-like electron distribution, dust charge fluctuation, and nonplanar cylindrical and spherical geometries. The implications of our results in some space and laboratory dusty plasma environments are briefly discussed.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been carried out for exploring different features of ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves in a three-component magnetized plasma containing a mixture of thermal and nonthermal (energetic) inertialess electrons, warm inertial ions, and positively charged stationary dust particles. The standard Korteweg-de Vries (Burgers) equation has been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method, and its solitary (shock) wave solution has been derived and examined analytically as well as numerically. The latter exhibits characteristic properties (amplitude, width, speed, and polarity) of the ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves. It has been shown that the ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves are significantly modified by different plasma parameters (viz. parameter measuring the ratio of dust charge density to ion charge density, parameter measuring the fraction of energetic electrons, parameter measuring ion or electron temperature, and the external magnetic field). The present investigation may help in understanding the physics of various nonlinear phenomena formed in many space plasma systems, (viz. earth's mesosphere, solar wind, and cometary tails) and laboratory devices (laboratory experiments of Samarian et al., Phys. rev. E. 64 , 056407 [2001] and of Fortov et al., New J. Physics 5 , 102 [2003]).  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of cylindrical and spherical modified ion-acoustic (mIA) waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless, relativistic, degenerate multispecies plasma has been investigated theoretically. This plasma system is assumed to contain both relativistic degenerate electron and positron fluids, nonrelativistic degenerate positive and negative ions, and positively charged static heavy ions. The restoring force is provided by the degenerate pressures of the electrons and positrons, whereas the inertia is provided by the mass of positive and negative ions. The positively charged static heavy ions participate only in maintaining the quasi-neutrality condition at equilibrium. The nonplanar K-dV and mK-dV equations are derived by using reductive perturbation technique and numerically analyzed to identify the basic features (speed, amplitude, width, etc.) of mIA solitary structures. The basic characteristics of mIA solitary waves are found to be significantly modified by the effects of degenerate pressures of electron, positron, and ion fluids, their number densities, and various charge states of heavy ions. The implications of our results to dense plasmas in astrophysical compact objects (e.g., nonrotating white dwarfs, neutron stars, etc.) are briefly mentioned.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic solitary waves in unmagnetized dusty plasma whose constituents are inertial charged dust grains, Boltzmannian electrons and nonthermal ions have been investigated by taking into account finite dust temperature. The pseudopotential has been used to study solitary solution. The existence of solitary waves having negative potential is reported.  相似文献

A nonlinear propagation of cylindrical and spherical modified ion-acoustic (mIA) waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless, relativistic, degenerate multi-species plasma has been investigated theoretically. This plasma system is assumed to contain non-relativistic degenerate light ions, both non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic degenerate electron and positron fluids, and arbitrarily charged static heavy ions. The restoring force is provided by the degenerate pressures of the electrons and positrons, whereas the inertia is provided by the mass of ions. The arbitrarily charged static heavy ions participate only in maintaining the quasi-neutrality condition at equilibrium. The modified Burgers (mB) equation is derived by using reductive perturbation technique and numerically analyzed to identify the basic features of mIA shock structures. The nonlinear propagation of small amplitude dust‐acoustic (DA) solitary waves in magnetized dusty plasma consisting of negatively charged mobile dust fluid, and Boltzmann‐distributed electrons and ions with two distinct temperatures following a q‐nonextensive distribution are investigated. In this article, a number of nonlinear equations, namely, the Korteweg–de‐Vries (K‐dV) equations, have been derived by employing the reductive perturbation technique that is valid for a small but finite amplitude limit. The effects of nonextensivity of ions with two distinct temperatures and dust concentration on the amplitude and width of DA solitary waves are investigated theoretically. It is observed that both the nonextensive and low‐temperatures ions significantly modify the basic properties and polarities of DA solitary waves. It is shown that both positive and negative potential DA solitons occur in this case. The implications of these results to some astrophysical environments and space plasmas (e.g., stellar polytropes, peculiar velocity distributions of galaxies, and collisionless thermal plasma), and laboratory dusty plasma systems are briefly mentioned.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ion-acoustic (IA) shock waves (SHWs) in a nonextensive multi-ion plasma system (consisting of inertial positive light ions as well as negative heavy ions, noninertial nonextensive electrons and positrons) has been studied. The reductive perturbation technique has been employed to derive the Burgers equation. The basic properties (polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) of the IA SHWs are found to be significantly modified by the effects of nonextensivity of electrons and positrons, ion kinematic viscosity, temperature ratio of electrons and positrons, etc. It has been observed that SHWs with positive and negative potential are formed depending on the plasma parameters. The findings of our results obtained from this theoretical investigation may be useful in understanding the characteristics of IA SHWs both in laboratory and space plasmas.  相似文献

The Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equation and modified Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation are derived in strongly coupled dusty plasmas containing nonthermal ions and Boltzmann distributed electrons. It is found that solitary waves and shock waves can be produced in this medium. The effects of important parameters such as ion nonthermal parameter, temperature, density and velocity on the properties of shock waves and solitary waves are discussed.  相似文献

The basic properties of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) shock waves in an unmagnetized dusty plasma (containing inertial ions, kappa distributed electrons with two distinct temperatures, and negatively charged immobile dust grains) are investi- gated both numerically and analytically. The hydrodynamic equation for inertial ions has been used to derive the Burgers equation. The effects of superthermal bi-kappa electrons and ion kinematic viscosity, which are found to modify the basic features of DIA shock waves significantly, are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The basic features of obliquely propagating dust ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary waves in a hot adiabatic magnetized dusty plasma (containing adiabatic inertia-less electrons, adiabatic inertial ions, and negatively charged static dust) have been investigated. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation which admits a small amplitude solitary wave solution. The combined effects of plasma particle (electron and ion) adiabaticity, ion-dust collision, and external magnetic field (obliqueness), which are found to significantly modify the basic features of the small but finite-amplitude DIA solitary waves are explicitly examined. The implications of our results in space and laboratory dusty plasmas are briefly discussed.  相似文献

For a dusty plasma with a negatively charged dust fluid with Boltzmann distributed electrons and superthermal ions, the dust acoustic solitary waves have been studied in this paper. We derived a Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation and a modified KdV equation for different cases. It was shown that the superthermal distributed ion have very important effect on the characters of dust acoustic solitary waves.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear coupling of drift and ion acoustic waves are studied in a nonuniform magnetized plasma comprising of Oxygen and Hydrogen ions with nonthermal distribution of electrons. It has been observed that different ratios of ion number densities and kappa and Cairns distributed electrons significantly modify the linear dispersion characteristics of coupled drift-ion acoustic waves. In the nonlinear regime, KdV (for pure drift waves) and KP (for coupled drift-ion acoustic waves) like equations have been derived to study the nonlinear evolution of drift solitary waves in one and two dimensions. The dependence of drift solitary structures on different ratios of ion number densities and nonthermal distribution of electrons has also been explored in detail. It has been found that the ratio of the diamagnetic drift velocity to the velocity of the nonlinear structure determines the existence regimes for the drift solitary waves. The present investigation may be beneficial to understand the formation of solitons in the ionospheric F-region.  相似文献

Properties of nonlinear electrostatic solitary waves in a magnetized multicomponent system of plasma containing of warm fluid ions, weakly relativistic warm fluid electrons and q-nonextensive distributed electrons using reductive perturbation method, have been surveyed. For this purpose, a KdV soliton type solution has been employed. The dependence of solitary wave structure, solitary wave maximum amplitude, and phase velocity of soliton on the plasma parameters is defined numerically.  相似文献

The head-on collision of ion acoustic solitary waves are studied in an electron-positron-ion plasma composed of superthermal electrons, superthermal positrons, and cold ions using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The effects of the ratio of electron to positron temperature, the spectral index of electron and positron, and the concentration of positron component on the phase shift are studied. It is found that the presence of superthermal electrons and superthermal positrons play a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves. It is also been observed that the temperature ratio plays a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves.  相似文献
