The nonlinear propagation of ion-acoustic(IA) shock waves(SHWs) in a nonextensive multi-ion plasma system(consisting of inertial positive light ions as well as negative heavy ions, noninertial nonextensive electrons and positrons) has been studied. The reductive perturbation technique has been employed to derive the Burgers equation. The basic properties(polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) of the IA SHWs are found to be significantly modified by the effects of nonextensivity of electrons and positrons, ion kinematic viscosity, temperature ratio of electrons and positrons, etc.It has been observed that SHWs with positive and negative potential are formed depending on the plasma parameters. The findings of our results obtained from this theoretical investigation may be useful in understanding the characteristics of IA SHWs both in laboratory and space plasmas.  相似文献

The electrostatic double layer (DL) structures are studied in negative ion plasma with nonextensive electrons q-distribution. The extended Korteweg–de Vries (EKdV) equation is derived using a reductive perturbation method. It is found that both fast (compressive) and slow (rarefactive) ion acoustic (IA) DLs can propagate in such type of plasmas. The effects of various plasma physical parameters; such as nonextensivity of electrons, presence of negative ions, temperature of both positive and negative ions and different mass ratios of positive to negative ions on the formation of DL structures are discussed in detail with numerical illustrations.  相似文献

The basic properties of the nonlinear propagation of the nonplanar(cylindrical and spherical) positronacoustic(PA) shock waves(SHWs) in an unmagnetized electron-positron-ion(e-p-i) plasma containing immobile positive ions, mobile cold positrons, and superthermal(kappa distributed) hot positrons and electrons are investigated both analytically and numerically. The modified Burgers equation(mBE) is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of PA SHWs are significantly modified by the cold positron kinematic viscosity(η),superthermal parameter of electrons(κ_e),superthermal parameter of hot positrons(κ_p),the ratio of the electron temperature to hot positron temperature(σ),the ratio of the electron number density to cold positron number density(μ_e),and the ratio of the hot positron number density to cold positron number density(μ_(ph)).This study could be useful to identify the basic properties of nonlinear electrostatic disturbances in dissipative space and laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

The small amplitude dust ion-acoustic double layers in a collisionless four-component unmagnetized dusty plasma system containing nonextensive electrons, inertial negative ions, Maxwellian positive ions, and negatively charged static dust grains are investigated theoretically. Using the pseudo-potential approach and reductive perturbation method, an energy integral equation for the system has been derived and its solution in the form of double layers is obtained. The results appear that the existence regime of the double layer is very sensitive to the plasma parameters, e.g., electron nonextensivity,negative-to-positive ion number density ratio etc. It has been observed that for the selected set of parameters, the system supports rarefactive,(compressive) double layers depending upon the degree of nonextensivity of electrons.  相似文献

Using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (EPLK) method, the interaction between two ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in a multicomponent magnetized plasma (including Tsallis nonextensive electrons) has been theoretically investigated. The analytical phase shifts of the two solitary waves after interaction are estimated. The proposed model leads to rarefactive solitons only. The effects of colliding angle, ratio of number densities of (positive/negative) ions species to the density of nonextensive electrons, ion-to-electron temperature ratio, mass ratio of the negative-to-positive ions and the electron nonextensive parameter on the phase shifts are investigated numerically. The present results show that these parameters have strong effects on the phase shifts and trajectories of the two IASWs after collision. Evidently, this model is helpful for interpreting the propagation and the oblique collision of IASWs in magnetized multicomponent plasma experiments and space observations.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been carried out on the propagation of the ion–acoustic(IA) waves in a relativistic degenerate plasma containing relativistic degenerate electron and positron fluids in the presence of inertial non-relativistic light ion fluid. The Korteweg-de Vries(K-dV), modified K-dV(m K-dV), and mixed m K-dV(mm K-dV) equations are derived by adopting the reductive perturbation method. In order to analyze the basic features(phase speed, amplitude, width, etc.) of the IA solitary waves(SWs), the SWs solutions of the K-dV, m K-dV, and mm K-d V are numerically analyzed. It is found that the degenerate pressure, inclusion of the new phenomena like the Fermi temperatures and quantum mechanical effects(arising due to the quantum diffraction) of both electrons and positrons, number densities, etc., of the plasma species remarkably change the basic characteristics of the IA SWs which are found to be formed either with positive or negative potential. The implication of our results in explaining different nonlinear phenomena in astrophysical compact objects, e.g.,white dwarfs, neutron stars, etc., and laboratory plasmas like intense laser–solid matter interaction experiments, etc., are mentioned.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of cylindrical and spherical modified ion-acoustic (mIA) waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless, relativistic, degenerate multispecies plasma has been investigated theoretically. This plasma system is assumed to contain both relativistic degenerate electron and positron fluids, nonrelativistic degenerate positive and negative ions, and positively charged static heavy ions. The restoring force is provided by the degenerate pressures of the electrons and positrons, whereas the inertia is provided by the mass of positive and negative ions. The positively charged static heavy ions participate only in maintaining the quasi-neutrality condition at equilibrium. The nonplanar K-dV and mK-dV equations are derived by using reductive perturbation technique and numerically analyzed to identify the basic features (speed, amplitude, width, etc.) of mIA solitary structures. The basic characteristics of mIA solitary waves are found to be significantly modified by the effects of degenerate pressures of electron, positron, and ion fluids, their number densities, and various charge states of heavy ions. The implications of our results to dense plasmas in astrophysical compact objects (e.g., nonrotating white dwarfs, neutron stars, etc.) are briefly mentioned.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made on obliquely propagating ion‐acoustic (IA) solitary structures in a three components magneto‐plasma containing cold inertial ions, Boltzmann distributed positrons, and hot non‐thermal electrons. The Zakharov‐Kuznetsov equation has been derived by the reductive perturbation method, and its solitary wave solution has been analyzed. Multi‐dimensional instability has also studied by the small‐k (long wave‐length plane wave) perturbation expansion technique, which is found to exist in such a plasma. The effects of the external magnetic field, nonthermal electrons, obliqueness and temperature ratio have significantly modified the basic properties of small but finite‐amplitude IA solitary waves, such as amplitude, width, instability criterion and the growth rate. The present investigation contributes to the physics of the nonlinear IA waves in space and laboratory electron‐positron‐ion magneto‐plasmas in which wave damping produces an electron tail. The propagation of ion acoustic (IA) solitary waves is investigated in a magnetized electron-positron-ion (EPI) plasma with Tsalli distributed electrons and Maxwellian positrons. A non-linear Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)-type equation is derived for the potential by using the reductive perturbation method (RPM), and its solitary wave solution is analysed. For a given set of plasma parameters, the present model supports only compressive IA solitary structures. It is found that the variation of various relevant plasma parameters, like the nonextensive parameter q, temperature ratio σ , direction cosine lz , the positron concentration γ and the magnetic field strength Ω significantly alter the characteristic properties of IA solitary waves.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of small amplitude dust‐acoustic (DA) solitary waves in magnetized dusty plasma consisting of negatively charged mobile dust fluid, and Boltzmann‐distributed electrons and ions with two distinct temperatures following a q‐nonextensive distribution are investigated. In this article, a number of nonlinear equations, namely, the Korteweg–de‐Vries (K‐dV) equations, have been derived by employing the reductive perturbation technique that is valid for a small but finite amplitude limit. The effects of nonextensivity of ions with two distinct temperatures and dust concentration on the amplitude and width of DA solitary waves are investigated theoretically. It is observed that both the nonextensive and low‐temperatures ions significantly modify the basic properties and polarities of DA solitary waves. It is shown that both positive and negative potential DA solitons occur in this case. The implications of these results to some astrophysical environments and space plasmas (e.g., stellar polytropes, peculiar velocity distributions of galaxies, and collisionless thermal plasma), and laboratory dusty plasma systems are briefly mentioned.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of quantum ion acoustic wave(QIAW) is investigated in a four-component plasma composed of warm classical positive ions and negative ions,as well as inertialess relativistically degenerate electrons and positrons.A nonlinear Schrodinger equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method, which governs the dynamics of QIAW packets. The modulation instability analysis of QIAWs is considered based on the typical parameters of the white dwarf. The results exhibit that both in the weakly relativistic limit and in the ultrarelativistic limit, the modulational instability regions are sensitively dependent on the ratios of temperature and number density of negative ions to those of positive ions respectively, and on the relativistically degenerate effect as well.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear electrostatic waves in unmagnetized electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasmas are studied. The electrons and positrons are assumed to be isothermal and dynamic while ions are considered to be stationary to neutralize the plasma background only. It is found that both upper (fast) and lower (slow) Langmuir waves can propagates in such a type of pair (e-p) plasma in the presence of ions. The small amplitude electrostatic Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) solitons are also obtained using reductive perturbation method. The electrostatic potential hump structures are found to exist when the temperature of the electrons is larger than the positrons, while the electrostatic potential dips are obtained in the reverse temperature conditions for electrons and positrons in e-p-i plasmas. The numerical results are also shown for illustration. The effects of different ion concentration and temperature ratios of electrons and positrons, on the formation of nonlinear electrostatic potential structures in e-p-i plasmas are also discussed.  相似文献

Heavy-ion-acoustic (HIA) waves in an unmagnetized collisionless plasma system comprising superthermal electrons, Boltzmann distributed light ions, and adiabatic positively charged inertial heavy ions have been investigated both numerically and analytically. The well-known reductive perturbation method has been used to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) and Burgers (BG) equations. The parametric regimes for the existence of both the positive and negative solitary and shock waves have been obtained. The effects of adiabaticity of heavy ions and superthermality of electrons, which are found to notably modify the fundamental features (viz. polarity, amplitude, phase speed, etc.) of HIA solitary and shock waves, are precisely studied. The results of our theoretical investigation can be applicable to understand the characteristics and basic nonlinear structures of HIA waves both in space and laboratory plasma situations.  相似文献

An investigation has been made on heavy ion‐acoustic (HIA) nonplanar shocks and solitons in an unmagnetized, collisionless, strongly coupled plasma whose constituents are strongly correlated adiabatic inertial heavy ions, weakly correlated nonextensive distributed electrons and Maxwellian light ions. By using appropriate nonlinear equations for our strongly coupled plasma system and the well‐known reductive perturbation technique, a modified Burgers (mB) equation and a modified Korteweg‐de Vries (mK‐dV) equation have been derived. They are also numerically solved in order to investigate the basic features (viz. polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) of cylindrical and spherical shock/solitary waves in such a strongly coupled plasma system. The roles of heavy ion dynamics, nonextensivity of electrons, and other plasma parameters arised in this investigation have significantly modified the basic features of the cylindrical and spherical HIA solitary and shock waves. The findings of our results obtained from this theoretical investigation may be useful in understanding the nonlinear phenomena associated with the cylindrical and spherical HIA waves both in space and laboratory plasmas. The linear characteristics of the unstable mode of ion-acoustic waves are examined in an electrostatic electron-ion plasma composed of streaming hot electrons, non-streaming cold electrons and dynamical positive ions. The plasma under consideration is modeled by using a non-gyrotropic nonextensive q-distribution function in which the free energy source for wave excitation is provided by the relative directed motion of streaming hot electrons with respect to the other plasma species. In the frame work of kinetic model, a linearized set of Vlasov–Poisson's equations are solved to obtain the analytical expressions for dispersion relation and Landau damping rate. The threshold condition for the unstable ionacoustic wave is derived to assess the stability of the wave in the presence of nonextensive effects. Growth in the wave spectrum and nontrivial effects of q-nonextensive parameter on the ion-acoustic waves can be of interest for the readers in the regions of Saturns' s magnetosphere.  相似文献

The basic properties of nonlinear ion-acoustic (IA) waves (IAWs), particularly finite amplitude IA rogue waves (IARWs) in a plasma medium (containing pair ions, iso-thermal positrons, and non-thermal electrons) are theoretically investigated by deriving the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation (NLSE). The criteria for the modulational instability of IAWs, and the basic features of finite amplitude IARWs are identified. The modulationally stable and unstable regions are determined by the sign of the ratio of the dispersive coefficient to the nonlinear rcoefficient of NLSE. The latter is analyzed to obtain the region for the existence of the IARWs, which corresponds to the unstable region. The shape of the profile of the rogue waves depends on the non-thermal parameter$\alpha$ and the ratio of electron temperature to positron temperature. It is found that the increase in the value of the non-thermal parameter enhances both the amplitude and width of IARWs, and that the enhancement of electron (positron) temperature reduces (enhances) the amplitude and width of IARWs. It is worth to mention that our present investigation may be useful for understanding the salient features of IARWs in space (viz., upper region of Titan's atmosphere, cometary comae, and Earth's ionosphere, etc.) and laboratory (viz., plasma process ingreactor and neutral beam sources, etc.) plasmas.   相似文献

A nonlinear propagation of cylindrical and spherical modified ion-acoustic (mIA) waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless, relativistic, degenerate multi-species plasma has been investigated theoretically. This plasma system is assumed to contain non-relativistic degenerate light ions, both non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic degenerate electron and positron fluids, and arbitrarily charged static heavy ions. The restoring force is provided by the degenerate pressures of the electrons and positrons, whereas the inertia is provided by the mass of ions. The arbitrarily charged static heavy ions participate only in maintaining the quasi-neutrality condition at equilibrium. The modified Burgers (mB) equation is derived by using reductive perturbation technique and numerically analyzed to identify the basic features of mIA shock structures. The basic characteristics of mIA shock waves are found to be significantly modified by the effects of degenerate pressures of electron, positron, and ion fluids, their number densities, and various charge state of heavy ions. Propagation of both low and high frequency waves in a plasma consisting of electrons, ions, positrons and charged dust particles have been theoretically studied. The characteristics of dust acoustic wave propagating through the plasma has been analysed and the dispersion relation deduced is a generalization of that obtained by previous authors. It is found that nonlinear localization of high frequency electromagnetic field in such a plasma generates magnetic field. This magnetic field is seen to depend on the temperatures of electrons and positrons and also on their equilibrium density ratio. It is suggested that the present model would be applicable to find the magnetic field generation in space plasma.  相似文献

Ion-acoustic shock waves (IASWs) in a homogeneous unmagnetized plasma, comprising superthermal electrons, positrons, and singly charged adiabatically hot positive ions are investigated via two-dimensional nonplanar Kadomstev–Petviashvili–Burgers (KPB) equation. It is found that the profiles of the nonlinear shock structures depend on the superthermality of electrons. The influence of other plasma parameters such as, ion kinematic viscosity and ion temperature, is discussed in the presence of superthermal electrons in nonplanar geometry. It is also seen that the IASWs propagating in cylindrical/spherical geometry with transverse perturbation will be deformed as time goes on.  相似文献

The basic features and multi-dimensional instability of electrostatic (EA) solitary waves propagating in an ultra-relativistic degenerate dense magnetized plasma (containing inertia-less electrons, inertia-less positrons, and inertial ions) have been theoretically investigated by reductive perturbation method and small-k perturbation expansion technique. The Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation has been derived, and its numerical solutions for some special cases have been analyzed to identify the basic features (viz. amplitude, width, instability, etc.) of these electrostatic solitary structures. The implications of our results in some compact astrophysical objects, particularly white dwarfs and neutron stars, are briefly discussed.  相似文献
