利用量子技术增强Sagnac效应提高陀螺输出精度具有重要的研究意义, 是实现全自主导航的重要途径. 以相干态激光作为输入光源的光学陀螺因真空零点波动使其输出精度限制于散粒噪声极限而难以提高. 为减小真空波动的影响, 提出在激光输入的分束器的另一输入端输入压缩真空光并结合平衡零拍探测技术的方法增强Sagnac效应. 理论分析表明Sagnac效应性能得到有效提升: 干涉输出的灵敏度检测极限和动态范围均随着压缩程度的增加而呈指数级增长. 该方法只需对经典光学陀螺做少量改动就可实现, 是提高光学陀螺输出精度的一种新方法.  相似文献

The scaling behaviour of fluctuations of the Bose field (f) in the ergodic infinite volume equilibrium states of ad-dimensional Bose gas at temperatureT and density , can be classified in terms of the testfunctionsf. In the low density regime, the space of testfunctions splits up in two subspaces, leading to two different types of non-commuting macroscopic field fluctuation observables. Testfunctionsf with Fourier transform yield normal fluctuation observables. The local fluctuations of the field operators (f) must be scaled subnormally (i.e. with a negative scaling index) if the testfunctionf has . The macroscopic fluctuations of these fields can then again be described by a Bose field. The situation changes when the density of the gas exceeds the critical density. The field operators which have normal fluctuations in the low density regime need to be scaled abnormally in the high density regime, yielding classical macroscopic fluctuation observables. Another difference with the low density regime is that the space of testfunctions with splits up in two subspaces when the critical density is reached: for a first subspace the algebraic character of the macroscopic field fluctuation observables in also classical because it is necessary to scale the fluctuations of the field operators normally, while for the remaining subclass, the same negative scaling index is required as in the low density regime and hence also the algebraic character of these macroscopic fluctuations is again CCR.  相似文献

Recently, we showed [J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 38, 665 (2005)] that the `amplitude-squared squeezing', a non-classical feature, can be enhanced in mixing with a coherent light beam using a beam splitter. Here, we show that the sum squeezing in a two-uncorrelated-mode light beam (one mode is in Gaussian state and the other one is in coherent state), which is degenerate limit of amplitude-squared squeezing, may be generated or enhanced in mixing with a two-mode coherent light beam using a beam splitter.  相似文献

In order to measure the thermal noise of a mirror suspended in a vacuum it is necessary for the length measurement error due to intensity and frequency noise of the probe laser to be reduced below the thermal noise level. Here we report on an experiment to reduce the frequency and intensity noise of a 40mW Nd:YAG laser for this purpose. The frequency is stabilised using the standard reflection locking technique. To stabilise the laser intensity a technique which uses the properties of an in loop light field has been developed. This technique is capable of suppressing the intensity noise below the shot noise limit without reducing the useful laser power. A servo based on this technique has been designed and tested. The experimental results indicate that the laser noise can be reduced to a level which will allow a displacement sensitivity of 1.5 × 10-19m/ Hz for the detection of thermal noise in a frequency band of 10 to 500Hz.  相似文献

A 5050 beam splitter disentangles a two-mode squeezed vacuum state into two single-mode squeezed vacuum states. With the proper choice of parameters these two single-mode states will be identical. If one is passed through a device which shifts its phase, then the phases of the shifted and reference (unshifted) modes can be determined by the Vogel-Schleich technique [Phys. Rev. A44 (1991) 7642]. In this way the phase difference, i.e. the phase shift, can be measured to an accuracy of 1/N, whereN is the total number of photons coming into the beam splitter. We also propose an improved scheme involving the disentanglement of a shifted two-mode squeezed vacuum state. This leads to two shifted squeezed vacaum states at the output of the beam splitter. If one of these is passed through the phase shifter, then by performing homodyne measurements on the shifted and unshifted modes the phase shift can again be determined to an accuracy of 1/N.This research was supported by the National Science Foundation under grants INT-9221716 and PHY-9201912.  相似文献

The sensitivity of an interferometric gravitational wave (GW) antenna operating above a few hundred Hertz is shot-noise limited. Sub-shot-noise sensitivity can be achieved by superimposing squeezed light on the laser field. The benefits of this approach are reduced in nonideal interferometers having fringe visibility less than unity, as pointed out by Gea-Banacloche and Leuchs and recently discussed by Chickarmane. Here, we consider an interferometer described by a set of coefficients Vl(k), Vsq(k), Vlsq(k) depending on the misalignment, mismatching, and aberrations of the optical systems, as well as on the asymmetry of the beam splitter and the two-arm losses. Due to the presence of terms proportional to the product of laser times squeezed fields, we have taken into account the amplitude fluctuations of al. A simple model of the squeezed vacuum light, produced by a degenerate optical parametric oscillator (OPO), is used for calculating the dependence of the spectral density of the output of a GW antenna on the fluctuations of the OPO-cavity resonance frequency, the pump amplitude fluctuation, and the nonlinear-crystal-temperature drift. A set of figures ηsq± and rlsq±(2) are introduced for describing the effects of the amplitude fluctuations and the relative line width γla on the spectral density of the quadrature phase operator X = alasq+ h.c.  相似文献

A scheme is proposed for generating a multiphoton entangled cluster state among four modes. The scheme only uses Kerr medium, beam splitter and homodyne measurements on coherent light fields, which can be efficiently made in quantum optical laboratories. A beam splitter operator is a very important linear device in the field of quantum optics and quantum information. It can not only be used to prepare complete representations of quantum mechanics, entangled state representation, but it can also be used to simulate the dissipative environment of quantum systems. In this paper, by combining the transform relation of the beam splitter operator and the technique of integration within the product of the operator, we present the coherent state representation of the operator and the corresponding normal ordering form. Based on this, we consider the applications of the coherent state representation of the beam splitter operator, such as deriving some operator identities and entangled state representation preparation with continuous-discrete variables. Furthermore, we extend our investigation to two single and two-mode cascaded beam splitter operators, giving the corresponding coherent state representation and its normal ordering form. In addition, the application of a beam splitter to prepare entangled states in quantum teleportation is further investigated, and the fidelity is discussed. The above results provide good theoretical value in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information.  相似文献

Recently, it was found [J. Phys. B: At. Mol. & Opt. Phys. 38, 665 (2005)] that amplitude-squared squeezing, a non-classical feature, can be enhanced during linear mixing with a coherent light beam using a symmetric lossless beam splitter. Here, another example is reported of enhancement of an easily detectable non-classical feature of an optical field in a similar mixing using a symmetric lossless beam splitter. We show that the Ashtekar-Isham extension of the configuration space of Yang-Mills theories is (topologically and measure-theoretically) the projective limit of a family of finite dimensional spaces associated with arbitrary finite lattices.These results are then used to prove that is contained in a zero measure subset of with respect to the diffeomorphism invariant Ashtekar-Lewandowski measure on . We derive analytical expressions for the single mode quantum field state at the individual output ports of a beam splitter when a single-photon Fock state and a coherent state are incident on the input ports. The output states turn out to be a statistical mixture between a displaced Fock state and a coherent state. Consequently we are able to find an analytical expression for the corresponding Wigner function. Because of the generality of our calculations the obtained results are valid for all passive and lossless optical four port devices. We show further how the results can be adapted to the case of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. In addition we consider the case for which the single-photon Fock state is replaced with a general input state: a coherent input state displaces each general quantum state at the output port of a beam splitter with the displacement parameter being the amplitude of the coherent state.  相似文献

Recently Kaniel and Itin proposed a gravitational model with the wave type equation as vacuum field equation, where denotes the coframe of spacetime. They found that the viable Yilmaz-Rosen metric is an exact solution of the tracefree part of their field equation. This model belongs to the teleparallelism class of gravitational gauge theories. Of decisive importance for the evaluation of the Kaniel-Itin model is the question whether the variation of the coframe commutes with the Hodge star. We find a master formula for this commutator and rectify some corresponding mistakes in the literature. Then we turn to a detailed discussion of the Kaniel-Itin model.  相似文献

Arbitrary superpositions of any two optical coherent states are investigated as realizations of qubits for quantum information processing. Decoherence of these coherent-state qubits is described in detail, and visualized using a suitable adaptive Bloch-sphere. For the density operator describing s?photon-subtracted squeezed chaotic light (PSSCL) we search for its thermo vacuum state (a pure state) in the real-fictitious space. We find that it reduces to a thermo vacuum state of squeezed chaotic light when s = 0, and to a thermo vacuum state of the optical negative binomial field when no squeezing. The new thermo vacuum state simplifies calculating photon number average, quantum fluctuation and Mandel’s Q parameter of PSSCL. Using the method of integration within ordered product (IWOP) of operators we also derive the normalization coefficient and explicitly analytical expressions of Wigner function for PSSCL.  相似文献

We study the influence of boundary conditions on energy levels of interacting fields in a box and discuss some consequences when we hange the size of the box. In order to do this we calculate the energy levels of bound states of a scalar massive field nteracting with another scalar field through the Lagrangian = > in a one-dimensional box on which we impose Dirichlet boundary conditions. We find that the gap between the bound states changes with the size of the box in a nontrivial way. For the case where the masses of the two fields are equal and for large box the energy levels of Dashen-Hasslacher-Neveu (DHN model) are recovered and we have a kind of boson condensate for the ground state. Below a critical box size the ground-state level splits, which we interpret as particle-antiparticle production under small perturbations of box size. Below other critical sizes, and , of the box, the ground state and firstexcited state merge in the continuum part of the spectrum.  相似文献

Entangling properties of output field from beam splitter are investigated with the generalized two-mode squeezed vacuum state inputs. It is found that the entanglement are not only strongly dependent on the squeezing parameters of the input state but also quite involved with the angular parameter of the beam splitter. In this paper,we investigate the phase sensitivities in two-path optical interferometry with asymmetric beam splitters.Here,we present the optimal conditions for the transmission ratio and the phase of the beam splitter to gain the highest sensitivities for a general class of non-classical states with parity symmetry.Additionally,we address the controversial question of whether the scheme with a combination of coherent state and photon-added or photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum state is better or worse than the most celebrated one using a combination of coherent state and squeezed vacuum state.  相似文献
