In this paper, we propose a broadband all-fiber non-uniformly spaced multi-channel optical filter, which is based on the utilization of paired multi-channel fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) located at two arms of an interferometer. Unlike the traditional optical comb filter, the channel spacing may be either linearly or nonlinearly chirped. Serving as an example, two identical linearly-chirped 51-channel FBGs have been successfully employed to demonstrate the proposed filter experimentally.  相似文献

利用紫外固化材料SU-82005与热交联聚合物甲基丙烯酸甲酯一甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯[P(MMA—GMA)]分别作为波导芯层和包层材料,通过直接光刻技术,成功实现了厚度为5μm,宽度为9μm,光栅高度为4μm的起伏型高阶布拉格波导光栅滤波器。对光栅器件的谐振波长,光透射率等重要参数进行了模拟设计。测得制备的聚合物高阶布拉格波导光栅滤波器的谐振波长为1550.4nm,消光比为23dB,3-dB带宽为2nm。  相似文献

本文论述了光子扫描隧道显微镜(PSTM)的显微成像机理、成像规律,针对具体的物理模型进行数值模拟计算,并得到了与实际探测相一致的场分布规律。采用自行研制的光子扫描隧道显微镜(PSTM)的显微实验系统对多种样品进行了表面显微成像研究,获得了关于样品表面三维立体图像信息,通过多种图像处理手段对原始图像进行后期处理,得到了更具视觉效果、更为逼真的样品表面图像。  相似文献

In order to suppress sidelobes of holographic filter’s spectral response we propose to use weighting of grating intensity distribution along light propagation. This can be realized in photorefractive material (for example in LiNbO3:Fe) by using spatial selective decaying of conventional uniform grating by illumination of light through some transparent mask. Experimental results show that it is able to obtain 8 dB improvement of sidelobe level compared to uniform grating. But it is accompanied by 1.7 times expansion of main lobe and two times decrease of diffraction efficiency.  相似文献

Spin filter tunneling is considered in the low bias limit as functions of the temperature dependent barrier parameters. We demonstrate the generation of spin polarized tunneling currents in relation to the magnetic order parameter, and discuss how an interfacially suppressed order parameter leads to a temperature dependent tunneling current asymmetry. Analyzing the full parameter space reveals that the often overlooked barrier thickness plays a critical role in spin filter tunneling. With all else fixed, thicker barriers yield higher spin polarization, and allow a given polarization to be achieved at higher temperatures. This insight may open the door for new materials to serve as spin filter barriers.  相似文献

A compact channel spacing tunable polymeric three-dimensional (3D) comb filter has been designed and fabricated. This comb filter is made of three waveguides laid in two different but parallel layers: one is in the lower layer and the other two are in the upper layer. These two waveguides in upper layer do not cross each other but instead each twice cross over the waveguide in the lower layer. At each crossing point an electrode heater is deposited on the top surface to adjust the coupling ratio between these guides. By supplying power to each heater pair, respectively, the channel spacing can be selected to be either 1.6 nm or 0.8 nm; in addition a flat-top spectral response may be obtained at the 1.6 nm channel spacing if power is supplied to both the heater pairs simultaneously.  相似文献

Spectral Talbot effect in full-duty-cycle sampled fiber Bragg grating is proposed and numerically demonstrated for the first time. Based on analysis and simulations, it is shown that high-performance comb filters can be realized with the proposed structure. Moreover, it is found that channel count scales linearly with the number of samples and that high-quality filtering is still available with some fabrication errors.  相似文献

A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) pickup exploiting Intensity Modulation-Direct Detection (IM-DD) interrogation system was put forward in this paper. The feasibility of detecting the vibration of the guitar was revealed by FFT analysis. There was certain correlation between the FBG pickup and the magnetic pickup. A high signal-to-noise ratio (42.85 dB) was obtained. The FBG pickup has a frequency response range (0–3000 Hz) that is comparable to the reference pickup. The results indicated that the proposed pickup is effective to pick up the vibration. A simple structure design and low-cost interrogation system set-ups were proposed.  相似文献

Sharp edges of the reflection spectrum of fiber Bragg gratings originate the group delay. As follows from the dispersion relations, the delay of the symmetric grating grows up with the second derivative of the reflectivity with respect to the frequency. The distortion functional is proposed for filter optimization. It is the mean square delay at fixed integral reflectivity. An analytic solution for filters with minimum distortion is obtained in the limit of weak grating.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an ultra narrow band fiber grating filter which is composed of two optical circulators and two fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). Through numerical simulation and experiment investigation, a narrow-band output spectrum with 1064 nm center wavelength and 0.017 nm bandwidth is obtained. A hybrid near-field fluorescence microscopy, which combines near-field scanning optical microscopy and photon scanning tunneling microscopy, is demonstrated for nanoscale optical memory and photofabrication on spin-coated dye-doped polymer films. In this study, we simulate numerically quasi pulse propagation in a uniform nonlinear fiber Bragg grating (FBG) made of chalcogenide glasses. Because of bistability and nonlinearity behavior of FBG, the shapes of output pulse vary abruptly and strongly according to the input peak intensity. We take Gaussian pulse as input and produce saw-tooth wave and square wave in the output by suitable input amplitude and FBG length also we could reach pulse chopping and pulse compression. These all optical signal processing achieved for a few length, i.e. 6.6 mm and few intensity, i.e. 35 W/m2 because of high nonlinearity of chalcogenide glasses.  相似文献

A novel and simple design technique for triangular spectrum response of fibre Bragg grating (FBG) is presented based on a linear chirped grating. It is shown that this method is fast and can give a straightforward solution to meet a design target. The numerical simulation examples verified the effectiveness of the design method. A general approach to design for multichannel triangular spectral responses for FBG filters is proposed, which provides a solution that achieves a minimum change of refractive index for the fibre.  相似文献

A highly directional waveguide grating antenna by patterning top cladding has been proposed. Spatial separation of the grating structure from the waveguide reduces the strength of perturbation to achieve a millimeter-scale emission. The optimized grating structure offers above 70% directionality with 800 nm waveguide width. The vertical field-of-view of 15° is achieved with 100 nm wavelength bandwidth. Thanks to the its simple structure and large critical dimension, the proposed structure is suitable for manufacturing in CMOS foundries with DUV lithography.  相似文献

We propose a simple optical preprocessing for optical clock recovery using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) filter. In the proposed scheme, the signal preprocessing is performed by suppressing the carrier component through the FBG filter, and experiment shows that the clock component is larger than about 10 dB compared with other rf components within a distance of from the clock frequency component.  相似文献

We investigated the performance limitation of a frequency-tunable photonic microwave notch filter incorporating a chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG) as a group delay line. In particular, we carried out theoretical and experimental studies to analyze the impact of the reflectivity ripple (RR) and group delay ripple (GDR) in the chirped FBG on the output notch performance. The results of experimental and theoretical analyses performed on a photonic microwave notch filter in which an S-bending-based linearly chirped FBG was incorporated, revealed that the notch depth and notch frequency were significantly affected by imperfections in the chirped FBG. The notch depth was found to be decreased by the RRs, whereas significant fluctuations in the notch frequency were caused by the GDRs. On the basis of the obtained results, we conclude that the RR and the GDR are the fundamental factors that degrade the performance of chirped FBG-based photonic microwave filters.  相似文献

In this paper, we have demonstrated the quality-of-service offered by the metropolitan area network which is based on optical cross connect (OXC) and arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) demultiplexer operating at 10 Gb/s with 0.1 nm channel spacing for NRZ signal transmission. The data is successfully transmitted to a distance of 40 km with a reasonably good BER of 2.388 × 10−35. The OXC and AWG demultiplexers in the proposed architecture allow incremental expansion in terms of the number of wavelength channels to be transmitted. Dispersion and crosstalk are the main signal-degrading factors arising from the operation of the OXC and the effectiveness of each factor is individually investigated.  相似文献
