The boundary value problem for the Laplace equation is studied on a domain with smooth compact boundary and with smooth internal cracks. The Neumann or the Robin condition is given on the boundary of the domain. The jump of the function and the jump of its normal derivative is prescribed on the cracks. The solution is looked for in the form of the sum of a single layer potential and a double layer potential. The solvability of the corresponding integral equation is determined and the explicit solution of this equation is given in the form of the Neumann series. Estimates for the absolute value of the solution of the boundary value problem and for the absolute value of the gradient of the solution are presented.  相似文献

We highlight the alternative presentation of the Cauchy-Riemann conditions for the analyticity of a complex variable function and consider plane equilibrium problem for an elastic transversely isotropic layer, in finite deformation. We state the fundamental problems and consider traction boundary value problem, as an example of fundamental problem-one. A simple solution of “Lame's problem” for an infinite layer is obtained. The profile of the deformed contour is given; and this depends on the order of the term used in the power series specification for the complex potential and on the material constants of the medium.  相似文献

A weak solution of the Neumann problem for the Stokes system in Sobolev space is studied in a bounded Lipschitz domain with connected boundary. A solution is looked for in the form of a hydrodynamical single layer potential. It leads to an integral equation on the boundary of the domain. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the problem are given. Moreover, it is shown that we can obtain a solution of this integral equation using the successive approximation method. Then the consequences for the direct boundary integral equation method are treated. A solution of the Neumann problem for the Stokes system is the sum of the hydrodynamical single layer potential corresponding to the boundary condition and the hydrodynamical double layer potential corresponding to the trace of the velocity part of the solution. Using boundary behavior of potentials we get an integral equation on the boundary of the domain where the trace of the velocity part of the solution is unknown. It is shown that we can obtain a solution of this integral equation using the successive approximation method.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to develop a layer potential analysis in order to show the well-posedness result of a transmission problem for the Oseen and Brinkman systems in open sets in \({\mathbb R}^m\) (\(m\in \{2,3\}\)) with compact Lipschitz boundaries and around a lower dimensional solid obstacle, when the boundary data belong to some \(L^q\)-spaces. If \(m=3\) or if the Brinkman system is given on bounded open set then there exists a solution of the transmission problem for arbitrary data. If \(m=2\) and the Brinkman system is given on exterior open set then necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of the transmission problem are stated. A solution of the transmission problem is not unique. All solutions of the problem are found.  相似文献

A complete system of homogeneous solutions of the Dirichlet problem for an anisotropic layer is constructed. These solutions represent series containing metaharmonic functions of a complex argument which depends on all three coordinates. This paper is concerned with the mathematical analysis of the scattering of a time‐harmonic electromagnetic plane wave by an open and overfilled cavity that is embedded in a perfect electrically conducting infinite ground plane, where the electromagnetic wave propagation is governed by the Maxwell equations. Above the flat ground surface and the open aperture of the cavity, the space is assumed to be filled with a homogeneous medium with a constant permittivity and permeability, whereas the interior of the cavity is filled with some inhomogeneous medium with a variable permittivity and permeability. The scattering problem is modeled as a boundary value problem over a bounded domain, with transparent boundary condition proposed on the hemisphere enclosing the inhomogeneity represented by the cavity. The existence and uniqueness of the weak solution for the model problem are established by using a variational approach. The perfectly matched layer (PML) method is investigated to truncate the unbounded electromagnetic cavity scattering problem. It is shown that the truncated PML problem attains a unique solution. An explicit error estimate is given between the solution of the original scattering problem and that of the truncated PML problem. The error estimate implies that the PML solution converges exponentially to the original cavity scattering problem by increasing either the PML medium parameter or the PML layer thickness. The convergence result is expected to be useful for determining the PML medium parameter in the computational electromagnetic scattering problem. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the Robin problem for the scalar Oseen equation in an open n‐dimensional set with compact Ljapunov boundary. We prescribe two types of Robin boundary conditions, and prove the unique solvability of these problems as well as a representation formula for the solution in form of a scalar Oseen single layer potential. The third problem for the Laplace equation is studied on an open set with Lipschitz boundary. The boundary condition is in Lp and it is fulfilled in the sense of the nontangential limit. The existence and the uniqueness of a solution is proved and the solution is expressed in the form of a single layer potential. The solution of the weak Neumann problem for the Laplace equation with a distribution as a boundary condition is studied on a general open set G in the Euclidean space. It is shown that the solution of the problem is the sum of a constant and the Newtonian potential corresponding to a distribution with finite energy supported on ∂G. If we look for a solution of the problem in this form we get a bounded linear operator. Under mild assumptions on G a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is given and the solution is constructed. This paper deals with bimetal problems of thermoelastostatics. By means of an explicit particular solution a reduction to problems of elastostatics is given. An indirect boundary integral method is applied for solving the traction boundary value problem. The solution is represented by a potential of single layer type having Green's contact tensor as the kernel. Thus, from the first the transmission conditions are satisfied. The Fredholm property of the boundary integral operator as well as the asymptotics of the potential density at an interface corner depend on the symbol of a Mellin convolution operator. The singular functions at corners can be obtained by calculating the potential for terms in the asymptotic expansion of the density.  相似文献

We consider an elliptic perturbation problem in a circle by using the analytical solution that is given by a Fourier series with coefficients in terms of modified Bessel functions. By using saddle point methods we construct asymptotic approximations with respect to a small parameter. In particular we consider approximations that hold uniformly in the boundary layer, which is located along a certain part of the boundary of the domain.  相似文献

The Neumann problem for the Poisson equation is studied on a general open subset G of the Euclidean space. The right-hand side is a distribution F supported on the closure of G. It is shown that a solution is the Newton potential corresponding to a distribution B ∈ε (clG), where ε(clG) is the set of all distributions with finite energy supported on the closure of G. The solution is looked for in this form and the original problem reduces to the integral equation TB = F. If the equation TB = F is solvable, then the solution is constructed by the Neumann series. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the equation TB = F is given for NTA domains with compact boundary. The Green’s function solution of the Helmholtz's equation for acoustic scattering by hard surfaces and radiation by vibrating surfaces, lead in both the cases, to a hyper singular surface boundary integral equation. Considering a general open surface, a simple proof has been given to show that the integral is to be interpreted like the Hadmard finite part of a divergent integral in one variable. The equation is reformulated as a Cauchy principal value integral equation, but also containing the potential at the control point. It is amenable to numerical treatment by conventional methods. An alternative formulation in the better known form, containing the tangential derivative of the potential is also given. The two dimensional problem for an open arc is separately treated for its simpler feature.  相似文献

In this paper, we have given numerical solution of the elasticity problem of settled on the wronkler ground with variable coefficient. The approximation solution of boundary value problem which is pertinent to this has been converted to integral equations, and then by using the successive approximation methods, has been reached. In addition to this, the approximation solution of the problem was put into Padé series form. We applied these methods to an example which is the elasticity problem of unit length homogeny beam, which is a special form of boundary value problem. First we calculate the successive approximation of the given boundary value problem then transform it into Padé series form, which give an arbitrary order for solving differential equation numerically.  相似文献
