We have evidence that an organic and an inorganic salt of antimony were reduced and methylated biologically by microorganisms in laboratory experiments. The organoantimony compound produced was trimethylstibine [(CH3)3Sb] and was detected in a culture headspace. This was confirmed by matching the compound's retention time in capillary gas chromatography, as detected by fluorine-induced chemiluminescence, with a com- mercial standard and by its mass spectrum determined with gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC–MS). (CH3)3Sb was detected in the headspace of soil samples amended with either potassium antimonyltartrate or potassium hexahydroxyantimonate and augmented with any one of three different nitrate-containing growth media. The identity of the microorganisms in soil that accomplished this are as yet unknown. Of 48 soil samples amended with these two compounds, 24 produced trimethylstibine. Bioreduction of trimethyldibromoantimony was also detected in a liquid monoculture of Pseudomonas fluorescens K27 which also produced tri- methylstibine. This headspace production of (CH3)3Sb was determined to be linked to the culture's cell population as measured by optical density. This microbe, however, did not biomethylate either potassium antimonyltartrate or potassium hexahydroxyantimonate in any experiments we performed. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

建立了碱熔样电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法测定锑矿中总锑的方法。探讨了熔样时间、熔样温度、溶解液酸度及组成对测定结果的影响。以过氧化钠作为熔剂,于650℃熔样15 min,加入1.0 g/L酒石酸调节样品溶液的酸度以防止水解,用电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法测定锑的含量,方法线性范围为0.00~50.0 mg/L,检出限为50.0μg/g,8个样品独立测定结果的相对标准偏差均小于5%(n=11),标准样品测定结果与标准值基本吻合。该方法适用于锑矿中总锑的含量测定。 相似文献

The filamentous fungus Scopulariopsis brevicaulis produces volatile trimethylstibine, found in the culture headspace, when grown in an antimony(III)‐rich medium under aerobic conditions. The trimethylstibine was purged from cultures using a continuous flow of compressed air and trapped in a U‐shaped tube containing Supelcoport SP 2100 at −78 °C. The trap contents were determined by using GC–ICP–MS methodology. Typically between 60 and 500 pg of trimethylstibine was trapped during sampling (12 h) from cultures containing 1000 g Sb ml−1 as potassium antimony tartrate. The total production of trimethylstibine over 18 days of growth was estimated at 10 ng. Intensive poultry production generates over 100,000 t of litter annually in West Virginia and 9×106 t nationwide. Current available technological alternatives based on thermophilic anaerobic digestion for residuals treatment

The bioaccumulation and excretion of antimony by the freshwater alga Chlorella vulgaris , which had been isolated from an arsenic-polluted environment, are described. When this alga was cultured in a medium containing 50 μg cm−3 of antimony(III) for 14 days, it was found that Chlorella vulgaris bioaccumulated antimony at concentrations up to 12 000 μg Sb g−1 dry wt after six days' incubation. The antimony concentration in Chlorella vulgaris decreased from 2570 to 1610 μg Sb g−1 dry wt after the cells were transferred to an antimony-free medium. We found that the excreted antimony consists of 40% antimony(V) and 60% antimony(III). This means that the highly toxic antimony(III) was converted to the less toxic antimony (V) by the living organism. Antimony accumulated in living Chlorella vulgaris cells was solvent-fractionated with chloroform/methanol (2:1), and the extract residue was fractionated with 1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Gel-filtration chromatography of the solubilized part showed that antimony was combined with proteins whose molecular weight was around 4×104 in the antimony-accumulated living cells. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Cultures of the fungus Scopulariopsis brevicaulis were grown in antimony-rich media. Although volatile compounds of other elements were readily detected in the culture headspace, volatile antimony compounds were formed irreproducibly and at only ultratrace levels. In order to monitor the media for nonvolatile methylantimony compounds, a method of sample preparation was developed, based on solid-phase extraction. This enabled the separation of large quantities of soluble inorganic antimony species from trace amounts of organoantimony compounds before speciation by HG–GC–AAS. By this methodology methylated antimony compounds were detected at concentrations of 0.8– 7.1 µg Sbl−1 in all media in which S. brevicaulis was grown in the presence of antimony(III) compounds. These methylantimony species were not detected in any of the nonliving or medium-only controls. Methylated compounds were not detected where S. brevicaulis was grown in the presence of antimony(V) compounds. Abstract A sensitive and selective voltammetric method for determination of antimony(III) using Alizarin Red S (ARS) as complexing agent is described. The method is based on the monitoring the oxidation peak of antimony(III)-ARS complex at ?520 mV in ammonium-ammonia buffer (pH = 7.5). The peak current was measured by scanning the potential from ?700 mV versus Ag/AgClto more positive potentials without accumulation in the presence of 1 × 10?6 mol L?1 of ARS. The limit of detection (3 s) and limit of quantification (10 s) of the method were calculated from calibration curve as 1.45 µg L? and 4.8 µg L? respectively. The calibration plot for antimony(III) was linear in the range of 4.8–30 µg L?. The interference of various ions was examined. Serious interference from Al(III), Fe(III), Cu(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II) was eliminated by addition of EDTA to the solution. The method was applied to drinking water samples. The recoveries were in the range 94% – 105%. The results obtained from the developed method were compared with those from the differential-pulse anodic-stripping method and no statistically significant difference was found. 相似文献

Microbial degradation of a tetramethylarsonium salt during incubation at 25°C was investigated under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Two media (1/5 ZoBell 2216E and inorganic salt medium), added with the sediments or suspended substances as the sources of the microorganisms, were used. Degradation of the tetramethylarsonium salt occurred only in the ZoBell medium: under anaerobic conditions, trimethylarsine oxide and dimethylarsinic acid were derived with the sediments, and dimethylarsinic acid with the suspended substances, the salt degrading more rapidly with the former than with the latter. Small amounts of two metabolites, trimethylarsine oxide and inorganic arsenic(V), was also derived in the aerobically incubated ZoBell medium added with the suspended substances. This result means that the tetramethylarsonium salt is degraded to inorganic arsenic, which is the starting material for arsenic circulation in marine ecosystems, via trimethylarsine oxide and dimethylarsinic acid. 相似文献

以某垃圾焚烧厂焚烧炉产生的烟道气为研究对象,采用酒石酸提取,对烟道气中sb形态进行了分析,用HG-AFS分别测出样品中Sb(Ⅲ)和总Sb的量,差减法得到Sb(V)的量。结果表明,sb(Ⅲ)和总sb检出限分别为0.13μg/L和0.11μg/L,相对标准偏差(RSD,n=11)分别为5.8%和6.3%,加标回收率在84.8%-113%。 相似文献

建立用氢化物发生–原子荧光光度计同时测定锌锭样品中砷和锑含量的方法。采用硝酸一次溶样,加入酒石酸防止锑水解。加入硫脲–抗坏血酸混合溶液作为还原剂和掩蔽剂,消除干扰元素的影响,对实验条件进行了优化。砷和锑的负高压分别为220,200 V,灯电流分别为80,60 mA,还原剂为1%硼氢化钾溶液(含0.5%KOH),载流为10%盐酸溶液,还原时间为30 min。测定砷的线性范围为0~80 ng/mL,相关系数r=0.999 8,检出限为0.35μg/L,测定结果的相对标准偏差为3.18%(n=11);测定锑的线性范围为0~80 ng/mL,相关系数r=0.999 6,检出限为0.42μg/L,测定结果的相对标准偏差为4.32%(n=11),砷和锑的加标回收率在97.46%~100.30%之间。用该方法对标准样品进行测定,测定结果与标准值相符。该方法基体干扰少,灵敏度高,适合于锌锭中砷和锑的日常测定。 相似文献

氢化物发生-原子荧光光谱法是土壤环境中锑检测所广泛使用的方法.土壤的消解前处理分别采用王水微波消解(半消解)、混酸全消解(硝酸+高氯酸+氢氟酸)方式.研究结果表明王水微波消解对锑的检测效果较好,标准土壤9次测定值的相对标准偏差为3.6%,实际样品的回收率为96%-102%.而采用混酸全消解的方式测定值偏低,实际样品的回收率为78%~86%,而且精密度超过5%,这是由于在赶酸过程中样品易被蒸干而造成痕量锑元素的损失. 相似文献

A new synthesis method of nanomaterials using the impulse plasma in liquid by the low voltage spark discharge is presented. The bismuth and antimony nanopowders were for the first synthesized by electric discharge method in liquid. The impulse plasma in liquid enables us to quench from plasma state, by which we can synthesize nanomaterials, nanorods, etc. In addition, the applied power is 100 times smaller than those of arc discharge. Single noble metal permanent modifiers such as, Rh, Ir, and Ru, as well as mixed tungsten plus noble metal (W–Rh, W–Ru, W–Ir) permanent modifiers thermally deposited on the integrated platform of a transversally heated graphite atomizer (TGA) were employed for the determination of antimony in sludge, soil, sediment, coal, ash and water samples by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS).Microwave digests of solid samples and water samples were directly introduced into different pre-treated platforms of graphite tubes. The performance of the modifiers for accurate antimony determination in real samples depended strongly on the type of permanent modifier chosen. The single noble metal (Rh, Ir and Ru) permanent modifiers were suitable for analyte determinations in simpler matrices, such as waters (recoveries of certified values 95–105%), but the analyte recoveries of certified values in sludge, soil, sediment, coal, and ash samples were always lower than 90%. On the other hand, for the determination of antimony, using W–Rh, W–Ru, and W–Ir permanent modifiers presented recoveries of certified values within 95–105% for all the samples.Long-term stability curves obtained for the determination of antimony in environmental samples with different permanent modifiers (Rh, Ir, Ru, W–Rh, W–Ir, W–Ru) showed that the improvement in tube lifetime depends on the tungsten deposit onto the platform. The tungsten plus noble metal permanent modifier presents a tube lifetime of at least 40% longer compared to a single permanent modifier. 相似文献
