Crosstalk reduction using tapered intersecting waveguides has been proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The crosstalk
with a small intersection angle of up to 20° was theoretically investigated, by applying coupled mode theory. Experimental
results show that the crosstalks between wide taper intersecting waveguides with the angles of 13 to 20° are decreased with

A new type of THz waveguides, which employs a solid polyethylene rod as the core and polyethylene tubes in a periodic array of square lattice as the cladding, is proposed. Optical properties of this new THz waveguide, especially in dispersion, confinement loss and single mode property, are investigated in detail with the plane wave expansion method and the beam propagation method. Numerical results demonstrate that the new THz waveguide can reach not only low dispersion but also low confinement loss at single mode propagation. Therefore, the square lattice structure is a better candidate as THz waveguides than the triangular ones. 相似文献

从自聚焦透镜的成像特性出发,导出了自聚焦透镜与普通透镜相同的高斯物像公式.采用理想光具组图解法分析了自聚焦透镜子午光线的成像.该成像法只需要找出基点、基面的位置,利用两条特殊光线,便可以在确定物体具体位置和高度的情况下通过图解法,得出像的具体位置和大小.对直径为1.82 mm的自聚焦透镜的物像关系进行了实验研究,结果表明图解法能够很好地分析自聚焦透镜成像. 相似文献

A compact two-dimension (2-D) finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method is used to analyze the dispersion characteristics
of single and double trapezoidal-ridge waveguides. The general 2-D FDFD formulation under orthogonal curvilinear coordinate
system is derived from the difference form of Maxwell’s equations, and modified difference formulas at the trapezoidal-ridge
section are built. After implementing the boundary conditions, the 2-D FDFD formulation is concluded as an eigen equation
and then constructed by a highly sparse matrix. By solving the matrix-eigen equation, the dispersion characteristics of the
ridged waveguides can be obtained. Computed results are in good agreements with the previously published and simulated ones,

In this paper, a novel numerical technique to solve electromagnetic boundary value problem is described. This finite element based method of lines is developed by combining finite element method and the method of lines, so that it not only has high flexibility to treat geometrically and compositionally complex problems but also maintains high accuracy of semi-analytical technique. The geometry discretization, element mapping, element trial function and standard ordinary differential equation construction are discussed in details. Our numerical result demonstrates that this method can successfully solve the complex problems with fewer mesh lines when compared with conventional method of lines. 相似文献
