Chiral-bridged rod molecules (CBRs) that consisted of bis(penta-p-phenylene) conjugated to an opened or closed chiral bridging group as a rigid segment and oligoether dendrons as flexible segments were synthesized and characterized. In the bulk state, both molecules self-assemble into a hexagonal columnar structure, as confirmed by X-ray scatterings and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations. Interestingly, these structures display opposite Cotton effects in the chromophore of the aromatic unit in spite of the same chirality (R,R) of the chiral bridging groups. The molecules were observed to self-assemble into cylindrical micellar aggregates in aqueous solution, as confirmed by light scattering and TEM investigations, and exhibit intense signals in the circular dichroism (CD) spectra, which are indicative of one-handed helical conformations. The CD spectra of each molecule showed opposite signals to each other, which were similar to those in the bulk. Notably, when the opened CBR was added to a solution of closed CBRs up to a certain concentration, the CD signal of the closed CBR was amplified. This implies that both molecules co-assemble into a one-handed helical structure because the opened chiral bridge is conformationally flexible, which is inverted to co-assemble with the closed CBR. These results demonstrate that small structural modifications of the chiral moiety can transfer the chiral information to a supramolecular assembly in the opposite way.  相似文献

A circular dichroism (CD) spectral study on chiral aromatic chain imides possessing anthracene and naphthalene moieties with bulky N substituents showed that their helical chirality based on folding remained for a reasonably long time without racemization in solution. Racemization due to conformational equilibration occurred very slowly, requiring over 1 week at ambient temperature. Their CD spectra both in solution and in the solid state gave similar CD signals, suggesting retention of helicity observed in the solid state even after dissolving. As an application of this novel chiral folding of aromatic chain imides, a chiral photochromic system was investigated based on the photo [4 + 4] cycloaddition and its thermal cycloreversion of an anthracene-naphthalene system. The foldamer possessing an anthracene moiety in the center connected with two naphthalene moieties below and above it by iminodicarbonyl linkers was prepared for this purpose. Induced CD was observed for the foldamer with (S)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethyl substituents at the imide nitrogen atoms. Chiral photochromic cycles were monitored by CD spectral measurement.  相似文献

The transfer and dynamic fixation of chirality in cyclic azobenzenes using R-(+)-1-phenylethylalcohol (R-PEA) and S-(-)-1-phenylethylalcohol (S-PEA) as solvents or additives are investigated. The cyclic azobenzenes used in this study carry a 1,5-dioxynaphthalene moiety as rotating unit, connected to the photoisomerizing (E-Z) azobenzene unit with spacers of varying lengths. With suitable lengths of the spacers the molecules exhibit stable enantiomers originated from the element of planar chirality in the E form due to the stopped rotation of the rotor, while in the Z form the allowed rotation results in racemization. The CD spectra of racemic compounds in the E form in chiral solvents were inert or almost negligible before irradiation, while 366 nm irradiation causing E-Z photoisomerization resulted in induction of clear CD bands. The thermal or photochemical reverse Z-E isomerization causes a change in the CD spectra to new ones which are reasonably matching with the spectra of the pure enantiomers recorded in non-chiral solvents. The obtained new CD spectra are maintained even in a racemic solvent system attained by the dilution with an equal amount of chiral solvent of opposite stereostructure. These results indicate that the chirality is transferred from the chiral solvents or additives to the racemizing Z form of cyclic azobenzene and it is fixed in the non-racemizing E form. The molecule without racemization in both E and Z forms did not show any significant induced CD bands irrespective of E-Z isomerizations. The molecule showing racemization in E and Z forms just shows the non-fixed induced CD. The property of photo-switchable racemization is necessary for the effective transfer and temporal fixation of the chirality in this type of chirality sensors.  相似文献

In this study, a series of novel CD chiral stationary phases were fabricated by immobilization of mono‐6A‐deoxy‐N3‐cyclodextrin onto silica surfaces followed by click regulation of CD primary face with 4‐pentynoic acid (acidic moiety), 2‐propynylamine (alkaline moiety) and L‐propargylglycine (chiral amino acid moiety), respectively. Enantioseparations of various kinds of racemates including dansyl‐amino acids, chiral lactides and diketones were conducted in reversed phase modes on these chiral stationary phases, where nearly forty diketones and chiral lactides were firstly separated on cyclodextrin stationary phases. 4‐Pentynoic acid moiety can make the retention ability decline while amine moiety significantly enhanced the retention ability of the stationary phases. For most of the studied analytes, the chiral amino acid moiety had the most positive effects on both the retention time and the resolution. The inclusion complexation between chiral analytes and cyclodextrins were also investigated by fluorescence method.  相似文献

The copper mediated oxidative coupling of optically active quaternaphthalenes having a 2-hydroxynaphthyl moiety gave configurationally defined optically active octinaphthalenes. The absolute configuration was determined by comparison with products of [6+2] coupling. The CD spectra of bi-, ter-, quater-, sexi- and octinaphthalenes suggested that the absolute configuration of the chiral axis could be deduced from the intensity of their Cotton effects.  相似文献

The sign of the Cotton effects near 320 and 400 nm in the CD spectra of the N-2,4-dinitrophenyl derivatives of chiral 1-alkyl-2-propynylamines and 1-alkyl-2-propenylamines correlates with their absolute configurations. The Cotton effects are generated by the coupled oscillator methanism and their sign is the same as the chirality (right-handed screw for positive chirality) of the interaction of the dominant oscillators of the 2,4-dinitrophenylamino chromophore with that of the amine moiety, the chirality of the interaction being deduced by conformational analysis.  相似文献

A new chiral probe molecule for mono-alcohols is developed by using 1,2-dihydro-1-hydroxy-2,3,1-benzodiazaborine (DAB) bearing an acridine moiety 1 . In the presence of mono-alcohols, DAB 1 forms borate 2 by boronic ester formation, followed by coordination of the acridine moiety to the boron atom. Borate 2 has a chiral center on the boron atom and works as a stereodynamic circular dichroism (CD) probe molecule for chiral mono-alcohols based on the π–π interaction between the acridine moiety and the carbon–carbon unsaturated moiety on mono-alcohols.  相似文献

A pair of copper(II) complexes 1 and 2 exhibit an enantiomeric chiral center at the oxygen atom that coordinates to the metal center. The configurations of the oxygen atom chirality and the chelate ring conformation are simply controlled by protected/free hydroxyl groups of the sugar moiety, yielding mirror image CD spectra. In this system, repulsive and attractive forces are used to regulate chirality on the copper-coordinated oxygen atom both in the solid state and in solution.  相似文献

The synthesis of an optically active hemiporphyrazine with chiral binaphthyl substituents ( 1 ) is reported, providing the first example of the incorporation of an intrinsically chiral moiety into the macrocyclic core of a hemiporphyrazine analogue. A negative circular dichroism (CD) signal is observed in the 325–450 nm region of the CD spectrum of (S,S)‐ 1 , while mainly positive bands are observed in the 220–325 nm region. Mirror symmetry is observed across the entire wavelength range of the CD spectra of (R,R)‐ 1 and (S,S)‐ 1 . An irreversible one‐electron oxidation wave with an onset potential at 1.07 V is observed by cyclic voltammetry, along with a reversible one‐electron reduction wave at ?0.85 V. Density functional calculations reproduce the experimentally observed data and trends, and provide further insight into the nature of the electronic transitions.  相似文献

Six sugar-pendant 2,2'-dipicolylamine (DPA) ligands (L1-3 and L'1-3) have been prepared. OH-protected and unprotected D-glucose, D-mannose, and D-xylose were attached to a DPA moiety via an O-glycoside linkage. X-ray crystallography of the copper(II) complexes (1-5) with these ligands revealed that the anomeric oxygen atom is coordinated to the metal center in the solid state, generating a chiral center at the oxygen atom. The CD spectra of these copper complexes in methanol or aqueous solution exhibit Cotton effects in the d-d transition region, which indicates that the ether oxygen atoms remain coordinated to the metal center and the oxygen-atom chirality is preserved even in solution. For complexes 1 and 2, the inverted oxygen-atom chirality and chelate-ring conformation in the solid state are well correlated with the mirror-image CD spectra in methanol solution. The concomitant inversion of the asymmetric configuration around the copper center was also observed in a methanol solution of complex 3 and a pyridine solution of complex 2. The square-pyramidal/octahedral copper(II) centers also exhibited characteristic absorption and CD spectra.  相似文献

Here, we report the mechanisms of chiral transfer at various length scales in the self-assembly of enantiomeric chiral block copolymers (BCPs*). We show the evolution of homochirality from molecular chirality into phase chirality in the self-assembly of the BCPs*. The chirality of the molecule in the BCP* is identified from circular dichroism (CD) spectra, while the handedness of the helical conformation in the BCP* is determined from a split-type Cotton effect in vibrational circular dichroism spectra. Microphase separation of the BCP* is exploited to form a helical (H*) phase, and the handedness of helical nanostructure in the BCP* is directly visualized from transmission electron microscopy tomography. As examined by CD and fluorescence experiments, significant induced CD signals and a bathochromic shift of fluorescence emission for the achiral perylene moiety as a chemical junction of the BCPs* can be found while the concentration of the BCPs* in toluene solution is higher than the critical micelle concentration, suggesting a twisting and shifting mechanism initiating from the microphase-separated interface of the BCPs* leading to formation of the H* phase from self-assembly.  相似文献

The planar 3,4‐diphosphinidenecyclobutene (DPCB) can be remarkably twisted into a C2‐type helical structure by dual coordination of a AuCl moiety. A prompt chirality control of the twisted DPCB skeleton ligated by the digold units affords the enantiopure structure by exchanging the chloride ligands for chiral [1,1′‐binaphthalene]‐2,2′‐dicarboxylate. The chirality of the diaurated 2,2′‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl (BIPHEP) system can be controlled prior to that of DPCB. Mixing of a DPCB‐bis(chlorogold) complex with the chiral silver salt dynamically leads to a single diastereomer, which was characterized by the 31P NMR spectrum and the CD couplet patterns in the visible (DPCB) area. The absolute configuration of the singly induced helical structure was assigned by the theoretical CD spectra determined by TD‐DFT calculations. Intramolecular alkoxycyclization of hexa‐4,5‐dien‐1‐ol catalyzed by the asymmetric DPCB‐digold structure were also attempted.  相似文献

Peptidomimetic foldamers were synthesized by oligomerizing derivatives of the δ-amino acid analogue, 2-(2-aminophenoxy)alkanoic acid. Single-crystal analysis of the tetramer reveals a 21-helical secondary structure stabilized by hydrogen bonding and the coiled stacking of aromatic rings. The M-helicity of 2-aminophenoxyacetic acid oligomers was induced by the incorporation of only a single chiral carbon of the N-terminal (R)-2-(2-nitrophenoxy)propionamide moiety. The solution state CD spectra demonstrated that the resulting helix induced a substantial Cotton effect. The secondary structure was further characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

A chiral macrocyclic Schiff base ligand and its binuclear metal complexes of Fe, Co, Ni and Cu were synthesized by a modified method with 1,2‐diaminocyclobexane as the starting material, which is readily obtained. The characters of those complexes were studied by elemental analyses, MS, NMR, FT‐IR, UV‐Vis and CD (Circular Dichroism) spectra. Furthermore, the electronic absorption spectra and CD spectra properties of the chiral complexes were discussed.  相似文献

The CD spectroscopy of a chiral compound in solution yields an average CD value derived from all of the conformations of a chiral molecule. By contrast, CD spectroscopy of cold chiral molecules in the gas phase distinguishes specific conformers of a chiral molecule, but the weak CD effect has limited the practical application of this technique. Reported herein is the first resonant two‐photon ionization CD spectra of ephedrines in a supersonic jet using circularly polarized laser pulses, which were generated by synchronizing the oscillation of the photoelastic modulator with the laser firing. The spectra exhibited well‐resolved CD bands which were specific for the conformations and vibrational modes of each enantiomer. The CD signs and magnitudes of the jet‐cooled chiral molecules were very sensitive to their conformations and thus offered crucial information for determining the three‐dimensional structures of chiral species, as conducted in combination with quantum chemical calculations.  相似文献
