We consider a linear system with additive noise in Hilbert space and minimize a convex functional associated with this process. A necessary and sufficient condition for a control to be optimal is derived by evaluating the subdifferential of the cost function. Then the subdifferential of the value function is characterized. Finally using these results and a conditional value function, optimal controls are characterized as a feedback law in terms of the value function.  相似文献

We consider an optimal impulse control problem on reinsurance, dividend and reinvestment of an insurance company. To close reality, we add fixed and proportional transaction costs to this problem. The value of the company is associated with expected present value of net dividends pay out minus the net reinvestment capitals until ruin time. We focus on non-cheap proportional reinsurance. We prove that the value function is a unique solution to associated Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation, and establish the regularity property of the viscosity solution under a weak assumption. We solve the non-uniformly elliptic equation associated with the impulse control problem. Finally, we derive the value function and the optimal strategy of the control problem.  相似文献

We investigate a semi-smooth Newton method for the numerical solution of optimal control problems subject to differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) and mixed control-state constraints. The necessary conditions are stated in terms of a local minimum principle. By use of the Fischer-Burmeister function the local minimum principle is transformed into an equivalent nonlinear and semi-smooth equation in appropriate Banach spaces. This nonlinear and semi-smooth equation is solved by a semi-smooth Newton method. We extend known local and global convergence results for ODE optimal control problems to the DAE optimal control problems under consideration. Special emphasis is laid on the calculation of Newton steps which are given by a linear DAE boundary value problem. Regularity conditions which ensure the existence of solutions are provided. A regularization strategy for inconsistent boundary value problems is suggested. Numerical illustrations for the optimal control of a pendulum and for the optimal control of discretized Navier-Stokes equations conclude the article.  相似文献

This article is dedicated to the study of bilevel optimal control problems equipped with a fully convex lower level of special structure. In order to construct necessary optimality conditions, we consider a general bilevel programming problem in Banach spaces possessing operator constraints, which is a generalization of the original bilevel optimal control problem. We derive necessary optimality conditions for the latter problem using the lower level optimal value function, ideas from DC-programming and partial penalization. Afterwards, we apply our results to the original optimal control problem to obtain necessary optimality conditions of Pontryagin-type. Along the way, we derive a handy formula, which might be used to compute the subdifferential of the optimal value function which corresponds to the lower level parametric optimal control problem.  相似文献

We will explain a new method for obtaining the nearly optimal domain for optimal shape design problems associated with the solution of a nonlinear wave equation. Taking into account the boundary and terminal conditions of the system, a new approach is applied to determine the optimal domain and its related optimal control function with respect to the integral performance criteria, by use of positive Radon measures. The approach, say shape-measure, consists of two steps; first for a fixed domain, the optimal control will be identified by the use of measures. This function and the optimal value of the objective function depend on the geometrical variables of the domain. In the second step, based on the results of the previous one and by applying some convenient optimization techniques, the optimal domain and its related optimal control function will be identified at the same time. The existence of the optimal solution is considered and a numerical example is also given.  相似文献

We study the optimal stopping problem for dynamic risk measures represented by Backward Stochastic Differential Equations (BSDEs) with jumps and its relation with reflected BSDEs (RBSDEs). The financial position is given by an RCLL adapted process. We first state some properties of RBSDEs with jumps when the obstacle process is RCLL only. We then prove that the value function of the optimal stopping problem is characterized as the solution of an RBSDE. The existence of optimal stopping times is obtained when the obstacle is left-upper semi-continuous along stopping times. Finally, we investigate robust optimal stopping problems related to the case with model ambiguity and their links with mixed control/optimal stopping game problems. We prove that, under some hypothesis, the value function is equal to the solution of an RBSDE. We then study the existence of saddle points when the obstacle is left-upper semi-continuous along stopping times.  相似文献

We deal with a discrete-time finite horizon Markov decision process with locally compact Borel state and action spaces, and possibly unbounded cost function. Based on Lipschitz continuity of the elements of the control model, we propose a state and action discretization procedure for approximating the optimal value function and an optimal policy of the original control model. We provide explicit bounds on the approximation errors. Our results are illustrated by a numerical application to a fisheries management problem.  相似文献

This paper concerns optimal investment problem of a CRRA investor who faces proportional transaction costs and finite time horizon. From the angle of stochastic control, it is a singular control problem, whose value function is governed by a time-dependent HJB equation with gradient constraints. We reveal that the problem is equivalent to a parabolic double obstacle problem involving two free boundaries that correspond to the optimal buying and selling policies. This enables us to make use of the well-developed theory of obstacle problem to attack the problem. The C2,1 regularity of the value function is proven and the behaviors of the free boundaries are completely characterized.  相似文献

We study the optimal liquidation problem in a market model where the bid price follows a geometric pure jump process whose local characteristics are driven by an unobservable finite-state Markov chain and by the liquidation rate. This model is consistent with stylized facts of high frequency data such as the discrete nature of tick data and the clustering in the order flow. We include both temporary and permanent effects into our analysis. We use stochastic filtering to reduce the optimal liquidation problem to an equivalent optimization problem under complete information. This leads to a stochastic control problem for piecewise deterministic Markov processes (PDMPs). We carry out a detailed mathematical analysis of this problem. In particular, we derive the optimality equation for the value function, we characterize the value function as continuous viscosity solution of the associated dynamic programming equation, and we prove a novel comparison result. The paper concludes with numerical results illustrating the impact of partial information and price impact on the value function and on the optimal liquidation rate.  相似文献

This article proposes a continuous-time model to combine seat control and overbooking policies for single-leg flights. We assume that demand is time-and-fare dependent and follows a Poisson process. No-show passengers receive refunds which depend on their fares. Overbooking penalty is a uniformly convex function of oversale. To maximize the expected revenue, airline managers seek optimal seat allocation among competing passengers. In the meantime, they need to determine an optimal aggregate overbooking upper bound, which balances the no-show refunds and oversale penalties. Our basic model shows (i) although the nested-fare structure does not hold for the face value of fares, its essence is preserved in the sense of net fares; i.e., the face value less the no-show refund; (ii) the optimal control policy is based on a set of pre-calculated time thresholds, which is easy to implement; and (iii) there exists an optimal overbooking upper bound, below which the value function strictly increases in the upper bound, and above which the value function stays constant. We further extend the basic model to consider fare-dependent no-show rates. Numerical examples are presented.  相似文献

We address the optimal control problem of a very general stochastic hybrid system with both autonomous and impulsive jumps. The planning horizon is infinite and we use the discounted-cost criterion for performance evaluation. Under certain assumptions, we show the existence of an optimal control. We then derive the quasivariational inequalities satisfied by the value function and establish well-posedness. Finally, we prove the usual verification theorem of dynamic programming.  相似文献

We consider an intensity control problem for a point process to maximize the expectation of a function of the time when the nth event occurs. We find the optimal control policy when the objective function is unimodal. Moreover, if the objective function is log-concave, so is the value function. As an application, we completely solve an intensity control problem that generalizes the problem studied by Brémaud (1976) and Defourny (2018). We study deterministic discounted optimal control problems associated with discrete-time systems. It is shown that, for small discount rates, the controllability properties of the underlying system can guarantee the convergence of the discounted value function to the value function of the average yield. An application in the theory of exponential growth rates of discrete inclusions is presented. This application motivates the analysis of infinite-horizon optimal control problems with running yields that are unbounded from below.  相似文献

We prove that the new affine stochastic differential adjoint equation exists an inverse process by applying the profound section theorem. Applying for the Bellman's principle of quasilinearization and a monotone iterative convergence method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the backward Riccati differential equation. A general deterministic time-inconsistent optimal control problem is formulated for ordinary differential equations. To find a time-consistent equilibrium value function and the corresponding time-consistent equilibrium control, a non-cooperative N-person differential game (but essentially cooperative in some sense) is introduced. Under certain conditions, it is proved that the open-loop Nash equilibrium value function of the N -person differential game converges to a time-consistent equilibrium value function of the original problem, which is the value function of a time-consistent optimal control problem. Moreover, it is proved that any optimal control of the time-consistent limit problem is a time-consistent equilibrium control of the original problem.  相似文献

We study a semi-discretisation scheme for stochastic optimal control problems whose dynamics are given by controlled stochastic delay (or functional) differential equations with bounded memory. Performance is measured in terms of expected costs. By discretising time in two steps, we construct a sequence of approximating finite-dimensional Markovian optimal control problems in discrete time. The corresponding value functions converge to the value function of the original problem, and we derive an upper bound on the discretisation error or, equivalently, a worst-case estimate for the rate of convergence.  相似文献
