In this paper, we consider a filtering problem where the signal X t satisfies a slightly nonlinear stochastic differential equation and we want to obtain estimates of X t. To this end, we decompose the nonlinearity with two techniques—a deterministic one and a stochastic one—and this leads us to two sequences of estimates which can be computed by solving finite dimensional equations. We want to compare their performances: we solve this problem in most cases if we restrict ourselves to sufficiently small times t and we give conditions which permit to conclude also for larger times  相似文献

In this paper we consider the probability density function (pdf) of a non-central χ2 distribution with arbitrary number of degrees of freedom. For this function we prove that can be represented as a finite sum and we deduce a partial derivative formula. Moreover, we show that the pdf is log-concave when the degrees of freedom is greater or equal than 2. At the end of this paper we present some Turán-type inequalities for this function and an elegant application of the monotone form of l'Hospital's rule in probability theory is given.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present a kinetic formulation of a model for the coupling of transient free surface and pressurised flows. Firstly, we revisit the system of Saint-Venant equations for free surface flow: we state some properties of Saint-Venant equations, we propose a kinetic formulation and we verify that this kinetic formulation leads to a Gibbs equilibrium that minimises (in some general case) an energy and preserves the still water steady state. Secondly, we propose a model for pressurised flows in a Saint-Venant-like conservative formulation. We then propose a kinetic formulation and we verify that this kinetic formulation leads to a Gibbs equilibrium that minimises in any case an energy and preserves the still water steady state. Finally, we propose a dual model that couples these two types of flow.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a non-local coupled system arising in the modeling of the dynamics of dislocation densities in crystals. For this system, the global existence and uniqueness are available only for continuous viscosity solutions. In the present paper, we investigate the global time existence of this system by considering BV initial data. Based on a fundamental uniform BV estimate and the finite speed of propagation property of this system, we show, in a particular setting, the global existence of discontinuous viscosity solutions of this problem.  相似文献

In this paper we describe how to compute the eigenvalues of a unitary rank structured matrix in two steps. First we perform a reduction of the given matrix into Hessenberg form, next we compute the eigenvalues of this resulting Hessenberg matrix via an implicit QR-algorithm. Along the way, we explain how the knowledge of a certain ‘shift’ correction term to the structure can be used to speed up the QR-algorithm for unitary Hessenberg matrices, and how this observation was implicitly used in a paper due to William B. Gragg. We also treat an analogue of this observation in the Hermitian tridiagonal case.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the motion of rigid bodies in a perfect incompressible fluid. The rigid-fluid system fills a bounded domain in R3. Adapting the strategy from Bourguignon and Brezis (1974) [1], we use the stream lines of the fluid and we eliminate the pressure by solving a Neumann problem. In this way, the system is reduced to an ordinary differential equation on a closed infinite-dimensional manifold. Using this formulation, we prove the local in time existence and uniqueness of strong solutions.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a Desargues configuration in the projective plane, i.e. ten points and ten lines, on each line we have three of the points and through each point we have three of the lines. We construct a rational curve of order 6 which has a node at each of the ten points. We have never seen this kind of curve in the literature, but it is well known that for anyn there exists a rational curve of ordern which has [(n–1)(n–2)]/2 nodes and ifn=6 we find a sextic with ten nodes. The purpose of this paper is to obtain a sextic of this kind as a locus of points in connection with special projectivities of the plane associated with the Desargues configuration and to find a rational parametric representation of it. A large part of this paper is done with MACSYMA: it is an application of computer algebra in algebraic geometry. Special cases, where we find a quintic, a quartic or a cubic, are given in the last section.  相似文献

In this article we introduce and investigate a particular class of n-perfect rings that we call “strong n-perfect rings.” We are mainly concerned with this class of rings in the context of pullbacks. We also exhibit a class of n-perfect rings that are not strong n-perfect. Finally, we establish the transfer of this notion to the direct product.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a straightforward pictorial representation of the double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) which enables us to translate the abstract algebraic structure of a DAHA into an intuitive graphical calculus suitable for a physics audience. Initially, we define the larger double affine Q-dependent braid group. This group is constructed by appending to the braid group a set of operators Q i , before extending it to an affine Q-dependent braid group. We show specifically that the elliptic braid group and the DAHA can be obtained as quotient groups. Complementing this, we present a pictorial representation of the double affine Q-dependent braid group based on ribbons living in a toroid. We show that in this pictorial representation, we can fully describe any DAHA. Specifically, we graphically describe the parameter q upon which this algebra is dependent and show that in this particular representation q corresponds to a twist in the ribbon.  相似文献

Constrained maximization of a sum of p1 ratios is a difficult nonconvex optimization problem (even if all functions involved are linear) with many applications in management sciences. In this paper, we first give a brief introductory survey of this problem. Then we propose a general branch-and-bound algorithm which uses rectangular partitions in the Euclidean space of dimension p. Theoretically, this algorithm is applicable under very general assumptions. Practically, we give an efficient implementation for fine fractions. Here the bounding procedures use dual constructions and the calculation of efficient points of a corresponding multiple-objective optimization problem. In this paper we study a quasilinear boundary value problem of Neumann type with discontinuous terms. In particular we consider a problem in which the p–Laplacian is involved. In order to prove the existence of solutions we replace this problem with a multivalued approximation of it and, using a variational approach for locally Lipschitz functionals, we prove two existence results for it.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive some necessary spectral conditions for the existence of graph homomorphisms in which we also consider some parameters related to the corresponding eigenspaces such as nodal domains. In this approach, we consider the combinatorial Laplacian and co-Laplacian as well as the adjacency matrix. In this paper we consider the problem of optimizing a piecewise-linear objective function over a non-convex domain. In particular we do not allow the solution to lie in the interior of a prespecified region R. We discuss the geometrical properties of this problems and present algorithms based on combinatorial arguments. In addition we show how we can construct quite complicated shaped sets R while maintaining the combinatorial properties.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with a semilinear elliptic Dirichlet problem with jumping nonlinearity and, using a completely variational method, we show that the number of solutions may be arbitrarily large provided the number of jumped eigenvalues is large enough. In order to prove this fact, we show that for every positive integer k, when a suitable parameter is large enough, there exists a solution which presents k peaks. Under the assumptions we consider in this paper, new (unexpected) phenomena are observed in the study of this problem and new methods are required to construct the k-peaks solutions and describe their asymptotic behavior (weak limits of the rescaled solutions, localization of the concentration points of the peaks, asymptotic profile of the rescaled peaks, etc.).  相似文献

In this paper we propose a generalization of the concept of the local property for divergence measures. These new measures will be called g-local divergence measures, and we study some of their properties. Once this family is defined, a characterization based on Ling’s theorem is given. From this result, we obtain the general form of g-local divergence measures as a function of the divergence in each element of the reference set; this study is divided in three parts according to the cardinality of the reference set: finite, infinite countable or non-countable. Finally, we study the problem of componible divergence measures as a dual concept of g-local divergence measures.  相似文献

In this note we study injective local morphisms of local excellent domains. In particular we are interested in the problem when the –adic topology onS restricts to a topology on R that is linearly equivalent to the –adic topology. Using a valuative criterion, we prove this in case R is analytically irreducible and is essentially of finite type, and we recover and extend a weak version of Gabrielov's rank condition. In this paper, we intend to establish relations between the way efficiency is measured in the literature on efficiency analysis and the notion of distance in topology. To this effect, we are interested particularly in the Hölder norm concept, providing a duality result based upon the profit function. Along this line, we prove that the Luenberger shortage function and the directional distance function of Chambers, Chung, and Färe appear as special cases of some l p distance (also called Hölder distance), under the assumption that the production set is convex. Under a weaker assumption (convexity of the input correspondence), we derive a duality result based on the cost function, providing several examples in which the functional form of the production set is specified.  相似文献

A Dirichlet series with multiplicative coefficients has an Euler product representation. In this paper we consider the special case where these coefficients are derived from the numbers of representations of an integer by an integral quadratic form. At first we suppose this quadratic form to be positive definite. In general the representation numbers are not multiplicative. Instead we consider the average number of representations over all classes in the genus of the quadratic form. And we consider only representations of integers of the form tk 2 with t square-free. If we divide the average representation number for these integers by a suitable factor, we do get a multiplicative function. Using results from Siegel (Ann. Math. 36:527–606, 1935), we derive a uniform expression for the Euler product expansion of the corresponding Dirichlet series. As a special case, we consider the standard quadratic form in n variables corresponding to the identity matrix. Here we use results from Shimura (Am. J. Math. 124:1059–1081, 2002). For 2≤n≤8, the genus of this particular quadratic form contains only one class, and this leads to a rather simple expression for the Dirichlet series, where the coefficients are just the number of representations of a square as the sum of n squares. Finally we consider the indefinite case, where we can get results similar to the definite case.  相似文献
