Novel mesoporous SBA-16 type of hybrids TTA-S16 and DBM-S16 were synthesized by co-condensation of modified β-diketone (TTA-Si and DBM-Si, DBM=1,3-diphenyl-1,3- propanepione, TTA=2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in the presence of Pluronic F127 as template, which were confirmed by FTIR, XRD, 29Si CP-MAS NMR, and N2 adsorption measurements. Novel organic-inorganic mesoporous luminescent hybrid containing RE3+ (Eu3+, Tb3+) complexes covalently attached to the functionalized ordered mesoporous SBA-16 (TTA-S16 and DBM-S16), which were designated as bpy-RE-TTA-S16 and bpy-RE-DBM-S16, were obtained by sol-gel process. The luminescence properties of these resulting materials were characterized in detail, and the results reveal that mesoporous hybrid material bpy-Eu-TTA-S16 present stronger luminescent intensities, longer lifetimes, and higher luminescent quantum efficiencies than the corresponding DBM-containing materials bpy-Eu-DBM-S16, while bpy-Tb-DBM-S16 exhibit the stronger characteristic emission of Tb3+ and longer lifetime than the corresponding TTA-containing materials bpy-Tb-TTA-S16.  相似文献

Time-resolved luminescence bioassay technique using lanthanide complexes as luminescent probes/sensors has shown great utilities in clinical diagnostics and biotechnology discoveries. In this work, a novel terpyridine polyacid derivative that can form highly stable complexes with lanthanide ions in aqueous media, (4′-hydroxy-2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine-6,6′′-diyl) bis(methylenenitrilo) tetrakis(acetic acid) (HTTA), was designed and synthesized for developing time-resolved luminescence pH sensors based on its Eu3+ and Tb3+ complexes. The luminescence characterization results reveal that the luminescence intensity of HTTA–Eu3+ is strongly dependent on the pH values in weakly acidic to neutral media (pKa = 5.8, pH 4.8–7.5), while that of HTTA–Tb3+ is pH-independent. This unique luminescence response allows the mixture of HTTA–Eu3+ and HTTA–Tb3+ (the HTTA–Eu3+/Tb3+ mixture) to be used as a ratiometric luminescence sensor for the time-resolved luminescence detection of pH with the intensity ratio of its Tb3+ emission at 540 nm to its Eu3+ emission at 610 nm, I540 nm/I610 nm, as a signal. Moreover, the UV absorption spectrum changes of the HTTA–Eu3+/Tb3+ mixture at different pHs (pH 4.0–7.0) also display a ratiometric response to the pH changes with the ratio of absorbance at 290 nm to that at 325 nm, A290 nm/A325 nm, as a signal. This feature enables the HTTA–Eu3+/Tb3+ mixture to have an additional function for the pH detection with the absorption spectrometry technique. For loading the complexes into the living cells, the acetoxymethyl ester of HTTA was synthesized and used for loading HTTA–Eu3+ and HTTA–Tb3+ into the cultured HeLa cells. The luminescence imaging results demonstrated the practical utility of the new sensor for the time-resolved luminescence cell imaging application.  相似文献

We have successfully synthesized Eu3+-doped TbPO4 nanowires, which are orderly organized to form bundle-like structure. A thermal treatment up to 600 °C does not modify the size, shape and structure of as-synthesized sample. Due to the energy overlap between Tb3+ and Eu3+, an efficient energy transfer occurs from Tb3+ to Eu3+. The effects of Eu3+ concentration and thermal treatment on the luminescent properties of Eu3+ are investigated. The increase of Eu3+ concentration leads to the increase of the energy transfer efficiency from Tb3+ to Eu3+, but also enhances the probability of the interaction between neighboring Eu3+, which results in the concentration quenching. With the heat-treatment, the luminescence of Eu3+ presents an obvious increase, but almost no change for the luminescence of Tb3+. This difference is explained based on the TGA, DTA, and fluorescent decay dynamics analyses.  相似文献

Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation and photoluminescent (PL) properties of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ion-doped aluminate phosphors, GdCaAl3O7:Eu3+ and GdCaAl3O7:Tb3+ have been investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate that the phosphor GdCaAl3O7 forms without impurity phase at 900 °C. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images show that the particle size of the phosphor is less than 3 μm. Upon excitation with VUV irradiation, the phosphors show a strong emission at around 619 nm corresponding to the forced electric dipole 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+, and at around 545 nm corresponding to the 5D47F5 transition of Tb3+. The results reveal that both GdCaAl3O7:RE3+ (RE=Eu, Tb) are potential candidates as red and green phosphors, respectively, for use in plasma display panel (PDP).  相似文献

Lanthanide sensitized luminescence and chemiluminescence (CL) are of great importance because of the unique spectral properties, such as long lifetime, large Stokes shifts, and narrow emission bands characteristic to lanthanide ions (Ln3+). With the fluoroquinolone (FQ) compounds including enoxacin (ENX), norfloxacin (NFLX), lomefloxacin (LMFX), fleroxacin (FLRX), ofloxacin (OFLX), rufloxacin (RFX), gatifloxacin (GFLX) and sparfloxacin (SPFX), the luminescence and CL properties of Tb3+–FQ and Eu3+–FQ complexes have been investigated in this contribution. Ce4+–SO32− in acidic conditions was taken as the CL system and sensitized CL intensities of Tb3+–FQ and Eu3+–FQ complexes were determined by flow-injection analysis. The luminescence and CL spectra of Tb3+–FQ complexes show characteristic peaks of Tb3+ at 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. Complexes of Tb3+–ENX, Tb3+–NFLX, Tb3+–LMFX and Tb3+–FLRX display relatively strong emission intensity compared with Tb3+–OFLX, Tb3+–RFX, Tb3+–GFLX and Tb3+–SPFX. Quite weak peaks with unique characters of Eu3+ at 590 nm and 617 nm appear in the luminescence and CL spectra of Eu3+–ENX, but no notable sensitized luminescence and CL of Eu3+ could be observed when Eu3+ is added into other FQ. The distinct differences on emission intensity of Tb3+–FQ and Eu3+–FQ might originate from the different energy gap between the triplet levels of FQ and the excited levels of the Ln3+. The different sensitized luminescence and CL signals among Tb3+–FQ complexes could be attributed to different optical properties and substituents of these FQ compounds. The detailed mechanism involved in the luminescence and CL properties of Tb3+–FQ and Eu3+–FQ complexes has been investigated by analyzing the luminescence and CL spectra, quantum yields, and theoretical calculation results.  相似文献

The study concentrates on the syntheses of modified 2-hydroxynicotinic acid by 3-(triethoxysilyl)-propyl isocyanate (TESPIC) and the preparation of their corresponding organic-inorganic molecular-based hybrid material with the two components equipped with covalent bonds. The bridging unit is a derivative of 2-hydroxynicotinic acid which is utilized to coordinate to Tb3+, Eu3+ or Zn2+ and further occurred hydrolysis and polycondensation processes by functional triethoxysilyl groups. Ultraviolet absorption, phosphorescence spectra, and luminescence spectra were applied to characterize the photophysical properties of the obtained hybrid material and the above spectroscopic data present that the triplet energy of modified 2-hydroxynicotinic acid efficiently initiates the antenna effect and matches with the emissive energy level of metal ions. As a result, the intramolecular energy transfer process completed within these molecular-based hybrids and strong green or red emissions of Ln3+ have been obtained.  相似文献

Physicochemical properties of new isostructural homo- and heteronuclear coordination polymers of terbium and europium with 1,4-bis-(4-methoxycarbonyl-3-hydroxyphenoxycarbonyl)butane (H2L) differing in the composition have been studied. The Tb2L3·H2O compound has exhibited efficient sensibilized green luminescence, whereas the corresponding europium-containing polymer EuL3·H2O has shown practically no luminescence due to mismatch of energies of the ligand triplet level and the Eu3+ ion emitting level. Heteronuclear terbium-europium polymers (Tb1.5Eu0.5L3·H2O, TbEuL3·H2O, and Tb0.5Eu1.5L3·H2O) show luminescence via the intramolecular transfer of the exiting energy from Tb3+ emitting level to Eu3+.  相似文献

Three rare earth borosilicate oxyapatites, RE5Si2BO13 (RE=La, Gd, Y), were synthesized via wet chemical method, of which RE5Si2BO13 (RE=Gd, Y) were first reported in this work. In the three oxyapatites, [BO4] and [SiO4] share the [TO4] tetrahedral oxyanion site, and RE3+ ions occupy all metal sites. The differential scanning calorimetry-thermo gravimetry measurements and high temperature powder X-ray diffraction pattern revealed a vitrification process within 300-1200 °C, which was due to the glass-forming nature of borosilicates. From the VUV excitation spectra of Eu3+ and Tb3+ in RE5Si2BO13, the optical band gaps were found to be 6.31, 6.54 and 6.72 eV for RE5Si2BO13 (RE=La, Gd, Y), respectively. The emission and excitation bands of Eu3+ and Tb3+ are discussed relating with their coordination environments. Among the three hosts, Y5Si2BO13 would be the best for Eu3+ and Tb3+-doped phosphors.  相似文献

Luminescent Eu3+/Tb3+ doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanofibers (MBGNFs) with average diameter of 100-120 nm were fabricated by electrospinning method. Pluronic P123 and N-cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) were used as co-surfactants to generate porous structure of the nanofibers. N2 adsorption-desorption measurement reveals that the MBGNF:Eu3+ have a surface area of 188 m2 g−1, a pore volume of 0.246 cm3 g−1 and average pore size of 4.17 nm, and the MBGNF:Tb3+ have a surface area of 171 m2 g−1, a pore volume of 0.186 cm3 g−1 and average pore size of 3.65 nm. Photoluminescence measurements reveal that the MBGNF:Eu3+ show strong red emission dominated by the 5D0 → 7F2 transition of Eu3+ at 614 nm with a lifetime of 1.356 ms, and MBGNF:Tb3+ show strong green emission dominated by the 5D4 → 7F5 transition of Tb3+ at 544 nm with a lifetime of 1.982 ms. The biocompatibility tests on L929 fibroblast cells using MTT assay reveal low cytotoxicity of MBGNF. These luminescent nanofibers show sustained release properties for ibuprofen (IBU) in vitro. The emission intensities of Eu3+ in the drug delivery system vary with the released amount of IBU, thus making the drug release be easily tracked and monitored by the change of the luminescence intensity.  相似文献

MCM-41 mesoporous silica has been functionalized with two kinds of macrocylic calixarene derivatives Calix[4] and Calix[4]Br (Calix[4]=P-tert-butylcalix[4]arene, Calix[4]Br=5.11,17.23-tetra-tert-butyl-25.27-bihydroxy-26.28-bibromopropoxycalix[4]arene) through condensation approach of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in the presence of the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) surfactant as a template. Novel organic-inorganic mesoporous luminescent hybrid containing RE3+ (Eu3+, Tb3+) complexes covalently attached to the functionalized ordered mesoporous MCM-41, which are designated as RE-Calix[4]-MCM-41 and RE-Calix[4]Br-MCM-41, respectively, are obtained by sol-gel process. It is found that they all have high surface area, uniform in the mesostructure and good crystallinity. Measurement of the photoluminescence properties show the mesoporous material covalently bonded Tb3+ complexes (Tb-Calix[4]-MCM-41 and Tb-Calix[4]Br-MCM-41) exhibit the stronger characteristic emission of Tb3+ and longer lifetime than the corresponding Eu-containing materials Eu-Calix[4]-MCM-41 and Eu-Calix[4]Br-MCM-41 due to the triplet state energy of modified organic ligands Calix[4]-Si and Calix[4]Br-Si match with the emissive energy level of Tb3+ very well.  相似文献

We present an efficient way to search a host for ultraviolet (UV) phosphor from UV nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. With the guidance, Na3La2(BO3)3 (NLBO), as a promising NLO material with a broad transparency range and high damage threshold, was adopted as a host material for the first time. The lanthanide ions (Tb3+ and Eu3+)-doped NLBO phosphors have been synthesized by solid-state reaction. Luminescent properties of the Ln-doped (Ln=Tb3+, Eu3+) sodium lanthanum borate were investigated under UV ray excitation. The emission spectrum was employed to probe the local environments of Eu3+ ions in NLBO crystal. For red phosphor, NLBO:Eu, the measured dominating emission peak was at 613 nm, which is attributed to 5D0-7F2 transition of Eu3+. The luminescence indicates that the local symmetry of Eu3+ in NLBO crystal lattice has no inversion center. Optimum Eu3+ concentration of NLBO:Eu3+ under UV excitation with 395 nm wavelength is about 30 mol%. The green phosphor, NLBO:Tb, showed bright green emission at 543 with 252 nm excited light. The measured concentration quenching curve demonstrated that the maximum concentration of Tb3+ in NLBO was about 20%. The luminescence mechanism of Ln-doped NLBO (Tb3+ and Eu3+) was analyzed. The relative high quenching concentration was also discussed.  相似文献

Adducts of lanthanide β-diketonates of the general formula LnL3(TPTZ) were synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction [Ln = Eu3+, Tb3+, Er3+; L is the conjugate base of dibenzoylmethane (DBM), 1-benzoylacetone (BA), thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA), or 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-1,3-butanedione (BTFA); TPTZ = 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine, a rigid Lewis base with a large π system]. The lanthanide ion in each of these complexes is nonacoordinate with six β-diketonate oxygen atoms and three TPTZ nitrogen atoms, forming a coordination polyhedron best describable as a monocapped square antiprism. Characteristic red, green, and near infrared luminescence was observed for the Eu3+, Tb3+, and Er3+ complexes, respectively. All complexes showed significantly enhanced luminescence quantum yields when compared with the corresponding aqua analogues, with one of the Eu3+ complexes displaying a quantum yield of 69.7% in chloroform.  相似文献

Novel luminescent silicone hybrids (LSHs) containing lanthanide ions were prepared via different sol–gel processes. The precursor, dimethyl ester‐functionalized silane, was synthesized via a facile amino‐ene reaction. The coordinated assembly of the ester ligands and lanthanide ions (Eu3+, Tb3+ and Dy3+) occurred. The ester ligands were immobilized onto the Si‐O network backbone during the preparation of the silicone hybrid materials. The particle size can be controlled to ca 50 nm by adjusting the solvent ratio. The obtained materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), 13C NMR, 28Si NMR, X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, high‐resolution scanning electronic microscopy and luminescent (excitation and emission) spectroscopy. The coordination state and photophysical performance of the compounds were studied in detail. The terbium‐ and europium‐containing materials show sharp green and red emissions, respectively, which indicate that efficient intramolecular energy transfer took place in these LSHs.  相似文献

Nearly monodisperse, homogeneous and well-defined one-dimensional Tb(1−x)(OH)3:xEu3+ (x=0-3 mol%) nanorods have been prepared through hydrothermal method. The size of the Tb(OH)3:Eu3+ rods could be modulated from nano- to micro-scale by using different amount of ammonia solution. They present highly crystallinity in spite of the moderate reaction temperature. Under ultraviolet excitation into the ff transition of Tb3+ at 382 nm, Tb(OH)3 samples show the characteristic emission of Tb3+ corresponding to 5D47F6, 5, 4, 3 transitions; whereas Tb(OH)3:Eu3+ samples mainly exhibit the characteristic emission of Eu3+ corresponding to 5D07F1, 2, 4 transitions due to an efficient energy transfer occurs from Tb3+ to Eu3+. The increase of Eu3+ concentration leads to the increase of the energy transfer efficiency from Tb3+ to Eu3+. The PL colors of Tb(OH)3:xEu3+ phosphors can be easily tuned from green, yellow, orange, to red by changing the doping concentration (x) of Eu3+.  相似文献

The crystal and electronic structures, and luminescence properties of Eu2+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ activated LiSi2N3 are reported. LiSi2N3 is an insulator with an indirect band gap of about 5.0 eV (experimental value ∼6.4 eV) and the Li 2s, 2p states are positioned on the top of the valence band close to the Fermi level and the bottom of the conduction band. The solubility of Eu2+ is significantly higher than Ce3+ and Tb3+ in LiSi2N3 which may be strongly related to the valence difference between Li+ and rare-earth ions. LiSi2N3:Eu2+ shows yellow emission at about 580 nm due to the 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. Double substitution is found to be the effective ways to improve the luminescence efficiency of LiSi2N3:Eu2+, especially for the partial replacement of (LiSi)5+ with (CaAl)5+, which gives red emission at 620 nm, showing highly promising applications in white LEDs. LiSi2N3:Ce3+ emits blue light at about 450 nm arising from the 5d1→4f15d0 transition of Ce3+ upon excitation at 320 nm. LiSi2N3:Tb3+ gives strong green line emission with a maximum peak at about 542 nm attributed to the 5D47FJ (J=3-6) transition of Tb3+, which is caused by highly efficient energy transfer from the LiSi2N3 host to the Tb3+ ions.

In this work, a latent energy-transfer process in traditional Eu3+,Tb3+-doped phosphors is proposed and a new class of Eu3+,Tb3+-doped Na4CaSi3O9 (NCSO) phosphors is presented which is enabled by luminescence decay dynamics that optimize the electron-transfer energy process. Relative to other Eu3+,Tb3+-doped phosphors, the as-synthesized Eu3+,Tb3+-doped NCSO phosphors show improved large-scale tunable emission color from green to red upon UV excitation, controlled by the Tb3+/Eu3+ doping ratio. Detailed spectroscopic measurements in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)/UV/Vis region were used to determine the Eu3+–O2− charge-transfer energy, 4f–5d transition energies, and the energies of 4f excited multiplets of Eu3+ and Tb3+ with different 4fN electronic configurations. The Tb3+→Eu3+ energy-transfer pathway in the co-doped sample was systematically investigated, by employing luminescence decay dynamics analysis to elucidate the relevant energy-transfer mechanism in combination with the appropriate model simulation. To demonstrate their application potential, a prototype white-light-emitting diode (WLED) device was successfully fabricated by using the yellow luminescence NCSO:0.03Tb3+, 0.05Eu3+ phosphor with high thermal stability and a BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ phosphor in combination with a near-UV chip. These findings open up a new avenue to realize and develop multifunctional high-performance phosphors by manipulating the energy-transfer process for practical applications.  相似文献

Highly uniform and well‐dispersed CaF2 hollow spheres with tunable particle size (300–930 nm) have been synthesized by a facile hydrothermal process. Their shells are composed of numerous nanocrystals (about 40 nm in diameter). The morphology and size of the CaF2 products are strongly dependent on experimental parameters such as reaction time, pH value, and organic additives. The size of the CaF2 hollow spheres can be controlled from 300 to 930 nm by adjusting the pH value. Nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements suggest that mesopores (av 24.6 nm) exist in these hollow spheres. In addition, Ce3+/Tb3+‐codoped CaF2 hollow spheres can be prepared similarly, and show efficient energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ and strong green photoluminescence of Tb3+ (541 nm, 5D47F5 transition of Tb3+, the highest quantum efficiency reaches 77 %). The monodisperse CaF2:Ce3+/Tb3+ hollow spheres also have desirable properties as drug carriers. Ibuprofen‐loaded CaF2:Ce3+/Tb3+ samples still show green luminescence of Tb3+ under UV irradiation, and the emission intensity of Tb3+ in the drug‐carrier system varies with the released amount of ibuprofen, so that drug release can be easily tracked and monitored by means of the change in luminescence intensity. The formation mechanism and luminescent and drug‐release properties were studied in detail.  相似文献

Three novel lanthanide complexes with the ligand 4,4-difluoro-1-(1,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)butane-1,3-dione (HL), namely [LnL3(H2O)2], Ln = Eu, Gd and Tb, were synthesized, and, according to single-crystal X-ray diffraction, are isostructural. The photoluminescent properties of these compounds, as well as of three series of mixed metal complexes [EuxTb1-xL3(H2O)2] (EuxTb1-xL3), [EuxGd1-xL3(H2O)2] (EuxGd1-xL3), and [GdxTb1-xL3(H2O)2] (GdxTb1-xL3), were studied. The EuxTb1-xL3 complexes exhibit the simultaneous emission of both Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions, and the luminescence color rapidly changes from green to red upon introducing even a small fraction of Eu3+. A detailed analysis of the luminescence decay made it possible to determine the observed radiative lifetimes of Tb3+ and Eu3+ and estimate the rate of excitation energy transfer between these ions. For this task, a simple approximation function was proposed. The values of the energy transfer rates determined independently from the luminescence decays of terbium(III) and europium(III) ions show a good correlation.  相似文献

A lanthanide‐complex‐based ratiometric luminescence probe specific for peroxynitrite (ONOO?), 4′‐(2,4‐dimethoxyphenyl)‐2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine‐6,6′′‐diyl]bis(methylenenitrilo)tetrakis(acetate)‐Eu3+/Tb3+ ([Eu3+/Tb3+(DTTA)]), has been designed and synthesized. Both [Eu3+(DTTA)] and [Tb3+(DTTA)] are highly water soluble with large stability constants at ≈1020, and strongly luminescent with luminescence quantum yields of 10.0 and 9.9 %, respectively, and long luminescence lifetimes of 1.38 and 0.26 ms, respectively. It was found that the luminescence of [Tb3+(DTTA)] could be quenched by ONOO? rapidly and specifically in aqueous buffers, while that of [Eu3+(DTTA)] did not respond to the addition of ONOO?. Thus, by simply mixing [Eu3+(DTTA)] and [Tb3+(DTTA)] in an aqueous buffer, a ratiometric luminescence probe specific for time‐gated luminescence detection of ONOO? was obtained. The performance of [Tb3+(DTTA)] and [Eu3+/Tb3+(DTTA)] as the probes for luminescence imaging detection of ONOO? in living cells was investigated. The results demonstrated the efficacy and advantages of the new ratiometric luminescence probe for highly sensitive luminescence bioimaging application.  相似文献
