No need for a metal : A combination of mass spectrometry and computational studies (density functional theory and coupled‐cluster methods) shows that [P4O10].+ is the first polynuclear nonmetal oxide cation that is capable of activating the C? H bond of methane at room temperature (see picture). This process represents a further example in the reactivity of oxygen‐centered radicals.
What's the matter? The laboratory Raman spectra for carbonic acid (H2CO3), both for the β‐polymorph and its amorphous state, are required to detect carbonic acid on the surface of the pole caps of Mars in 2009, when the Mars Microbeam Raman Spectrometer lands on the planet. The infinite coordination polymerization…? of metal ions and multitopic organic ligands is explored to fabricate metal–organic micro‐ and nanospheres that can be used as functional matrices. Maspoch and co‐workers show how this simple process affords spheres that encapsulate active substances, such as magnetic nanoparticles, organic dyes, and quantum dots, to result in multifunctional spheres. Benzophenone peresters undergo efficient photodecomposition when irradiated at 366 nm. This article reports peresters derived from benzophenone p,p′-dicarboxylic acid 1 which may produce radicals at two different centers in the same molecule. These peresters represent a unique new example of an efficient photoinitiator for acrylate and styrene polymerization. 相似文献
Playing the sax : The enantioselective total syntheses of (?)‐ and (+)‐decarbamoyloxysaxitoxin (doSTX) and (+)‐saxitoxin (STX) are reported. A new methodology was developed for the synthesis of STXs, featuring discriminative reduction of the nitro group and N? O bond in nitroisoxazolidine.
Preparation and Properties of Ti-substituted N-Heterocycles The compounds (x = 2 to 6) have been prepared by transamination of Ti(NMe2)4 with the heterocyclic amines and have been characterised by elemental analyses and 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy. The dependence on both x and n of the thermal decomposition has been studied for the series and . The results can be interpreted in terms of the steric strain of the R2N and substituents. Apart from the piperidido groups none of the ligands exhibit protective group properties comparable to the R2N groups. 相似文献
Synergy in synthesis : Strategic consideration of metathesis and Suzuki–Miyaura (SM) cross‐coupling for C? “ Quat's” the story? N‐Aryl amides are effective directing/activating groups for chlorosilane Lewis acids. This aspect has been exploited for the development of the first simple and general method for the highly enantioselective Pictet–Spengler reaction of ketimines derived from α‐ketoamides leading to quaternary α‐amino acid derivatives (see scheme).
Three attractions in one cage : Various magnetic networks are formed in the three polymorphs of an organic magnet, BBTDA(=benzo[1,2‐d:4,5‐d′]bis[1,3,2]dithiazole)?GaBr4. The three phases show quite different magnetic behaviors in spite of having the same chemical formula. Their magnetic differences originate from the relative configuration of the neighboring organic radical molecules in their crystals.
