Energy transfer from higher modes of capillary vibrations of an incompressible liquid charged drop to the lowest fundamental mode under four-mode resonance is studied. The resonance appears when the problem of nonlinear axisymmetric capillary vibration of a drop is solved in the third-order approximation in amplitude of the multimode initial deformation of the equilibrium shape of the drop. Although the resonant interaction mentioned above builds up the fundamental mode even in the first order of smallness, its amplitude turns out to be comparable to a quadratic (in small parameter) correction arising from nonresonant nonlinear interaction, since the associated numerical coefficients are small.  相似文献

A nonlinear version of resonance ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) theory is presented. This is important for NDT-purposes as damage manifests itself more pronounced and in an earlier stage by changes in the nonlinear elastic constants. General equations are derived for the 1-D case, describing the interaction between the modes due to the presence of nonlinearity. An analytical solution of these equations is derived which predicts the shift of the resonance frequency versus amplitude in a bar with localized damage. The damage was modelled as a finite region, having a constant cubic nonlinearity, in an otherwise linear 1-D bar. The analytical expressions for the shifts in resonance frequency at different modes were used to infer information about the position, nonlinearity and width of the damage. Unlike other techniques, the proposed method does not require scanning to locate the defect, as it lets the different modes, each with a different vibration pattern, probe the structure.  相似文献

Optical switching in a guided-mode resonant grating (GMRG) with a Kerr medium was numerically simulated by the nonlinear finite differential time domain (FDTD) method. The asymmetric resonant grating was adopted to have two resonant reflection peaks for the pump light and the probe light. When the pump light had a wavelength which was slightly longer than the resonant wavelength, the light was suddenly enhanced at a certain intensity because of the nonlinear resonance phenomenon. This resonance is effective in reducing the pump intensity for optical switching. When we assumed the resonant grating of polydiacetylene toluene sulphonate (PTS) with a linear refractive index of 1.88, a third-order susceptibility of 8.5 × 10⊃−0 esu and Q factors of resonant reflection which were ∼800, the pump light of 15 kW/mm⊃ changed transmittance of the probe light from 0 to 80%. 2005 The Optical Society of Japan  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study of the nonlinear flexural vibration of a cement-based material with distributed microcracks caused by an important deterioration mechanism, alkali-silica reaction (ASR). The general equation of motion is derived for the flexural vibration of a slender beam with the nonlinear hysteretic constitutive relationship for consolidated materials, and then an approximate formula for excitation-dependent resonance frequency is obtained. A downward shift of the resonance frequency is related to the nonlinearity parameters defined in the constitutive relationship. Vibration experiments are conducted on standard mortar bar samples undergoing progressive ASR damage. The absolute nonlinearity parameters are determined from these experimental results using the theoretical solution in order to investigate their dependence on the damage state of the material. With the progress of the ASR damage, the absolute value of the hysteresis nonlinearity parameter increases by as much as six times from the intact (undamaged) state in the sample with highly reactive aggregate; this is in contrast to a change of about 16% in the linear resonance frequency. It is demonstrated that the combined theoretical and experimental approach developed in this research can be used to quantitatively characterize ASR damage in mortar samples and other cement-based materials.  相似文献

Moving from a general plate theory, a modified general classical laminated plate theory (MGCLPT) exhibiting nonlinear curvatures but still allowing for some worth features of linear curvature models (von Karman) is formulated. Starting from MGCLPT partial differential equations, a minimal discretized model suitable for the analysis of resonant finite-amplitude vibrations of symmetric cross-ply laminates, with immovable or movable supports, is obtained via the Galerkin procedure. Periodic responses of a single-mode model and of a 3:1 internally resonant two-mode model excited at primary resonance are obtained via the multiple time scale method. The influence of various system parameters (thickness ratio, plate aspect, number of laminae, kind of material, mode number) is addressed, and the comparison of nonlinear vibration results as obtained with the MGCLPT and the von Karman models for different boundary conditions shows some interesting differences.  相似文献

In the current work, the nonlinear vibration of an embedded double-walled carbon nanotube (DWCNT) aroused by nonlinear van der Waals (vdW) interaction forces from both surrounding medium and adjacent tubes is studied. Using both Euler–Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam models, the relation between deflection amplitudes and resonant frequencies of the DWCNT is derived through harmonic balance method. It is found that the nonlinear vdW forces from the surrounding medium result in noncoaxial vibration of the embedded DWCNT. The noncoaxial vibration includes both uni-directional and bi-directional vibration modes. It is found that the surrounding matrix has more prominent effect on the uni-directional vibration in comparison to the bi-directional vibration. The axial load effect on the vibrational behavior of the embedded DWCNT is also discussed. Due to the influence of the surrounding polymer, the prediction on the resonant frequencies of embedded CNTs is quite different from that for free-standing CNTs. A softening behavior for the deflection amplitude-resonant frequency relation is observed for the first time in the bi-directional vibration of the embedded DWCNT, which can only be obtained using the Timoshenko beam theory.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to present the finite element modeling of laminate composite plates with embedded piezoelectric patches or layers that are then connected to active-passive resonant shunt circuits, composed of resistance, inductance and voltage source. Applications to passive vibration control and active control authority enhancement are also presented and discussed. The finite element model is based on an equivalent single layer theory combined with a third-order shear deformation theory. A stress-voltage electromechanical model is considered for the piezoelectric materials fully coupled to the electrical circuits. To this end, the electrical circuit equations are also included in the variational formulation. Hence, conservation of charge and full electromechanical coupling are guaranteed. The formulation results in a coupled finite element model with mechanical (displacements) and electrical (charges at electrodes) degrees of freedom. For a Graphite-Epoxy (Carbon-Fibre Reinforced) laminate composite plate, a parametric analysis is performed to evaluate optimal locations along the plate plane (xy) and thickness (z) that maximize the effective modal electromechanical coupling coefficient. Then, the passive vibration control performance is evaluated for a network of optimally located shunted piezoelectric patches embedded in the plate, through the design of resistance and inductance values of each circuit, to reduce the vibration amplitude of the first four vibration modes. A vibration amplitude reduction of at least 10 dB for all vibration modes was observed. Then, an analysis of the control authority enhancement due to the resonant shunt circuit, when the piezoelectric patches are used as actuators, is performed. It is shown that the control authority can indeed be improved near a selected resonance even with multiple pairs of piezoelectric patches and active-passive circuits acting simultaneously.  相似文献

This paper presents a semi-analytical solution for the vibration and sound radiation of a semi-infinite plate covered by a decoupling layer consisting of locally resonant acoustic metamaterial. Formulations are derived based on a combination use of effective medium theory and the theory of elasticity for the decoupling material. Theoretical results show good agreements between the method developed in this paper and the conventional finite element method(FEM), but the method of this paper is more efficient than FEM. Numerical results also show that system with acoustic metamaterial decoupling layer exhibits significant noise reduction performance at the local resonance frequency of the acoustic metamaterial, and such performance can be ascribed to the vibration suppression of the base plate. It is demonstrated that the effective density of acoustic metamaterial decoupling layer has a great influence on the mechanical impedance of the system. Furthermore, the resonance frequency of locally resonant structure can be effectively predicted by a simple model, and it can be significantly affected by the material properties of the locally resonant structure.  相似文献

研究了利用系统非线性来提高悬臂梁压电振子宽带低频振动能量俘获效率的随机共振机理,通过增加一对矩形永磁铁对传统线性悬臂梁压电振子结构进行了改进,结果揭示:在外部非线性磁力作用以及合适的磁铁间距条件下,这种外加磁力悬臂梁压电振子会构成一个双稳系统,在外部宽带低频随机振动源激励下发生随机共振现象,且发生随机共振时的输出电压明显增大,从而可以扩展悬臂梁压电振子的共振频率范围、提高低频振动能量的转化输出. 关键词: 压电悬臂粱 振动能量俘获 宽带低频 随机共振  相似文献

采用声-力-电类比建立粘接界面非线性力学行为的等效非线性振荡电路,以求解双层粘接板的超声非线性谐振频率。理论上导出非线性谐振频率方程,确定双层粘接板非线性谐振频率与激励幅度、三阶弹性劲度系数的解析关系。双层粘接铝板的超声实验发现:在不良粘接情形下,超声谐振频率发生偏移,其值大于粘接完好区,且激发了较强的三次谐波,但二次谐波幅度变化不大。实验结果表明三次谐波幅度上升,超声谐振频率也显著增大,与理论导出非线性谐振频率变化规律相吻合,且三次谐波与基波、二次谐波的比值反映了非线性谐振频率变化趋势,证实粘接层三阶劲度系数是产生非线性共振频率偏移的主要因素。   相似文献

针对悬臂梁振动能量采集器在大振幅振动下梁容易断裂的缺点,本文提出了一种基于摆式结构的具有宽频和倍频特性的振动能量采集器,该采集器由两个Terfenol-D/PMN-PT/Terfenol-D磁电换能器和嵌有六个磁铁的旋转摆构成.文中建立了摆式结构的摆动方程,分析了采集器的频率响应特性以及谐振时的机-磁-电转换特性,并对采集器输出电压波形进行了频谱分析.理论和实验研究表明:该采集器具有宽频和倍频特性,采集器样机在1 g(1 g=9.8 m/s~2)有效值加速度振动下,向下扫频时的半功率带宽达到4.8 Hz,且能在f=16.9 Hz的振动下获得3.569 mW的负载功率.利用双换能器以及采集器的倍频和宽频特性,能有效地提高低频时采集器的输出功率.  相似文献

A nonlinear (proportional to the vibration amplitude squared) decrease in the critical (in terms of instability) charge of a vibrating drop is found to be limited, as follows from third-order asymptotic calculations. This effect occurs when the spectrum of modes specifying the initial deformation of the drop contains, along with the fundamental mode, higher modes. The influence of the environment density on nonlinear corrections to the critical conditions for instability is analyzed.  相似文献

Abstract  

Consistent droplet bouncing driven by AC electrowetting was achieved by introducing a superhydrophobic surface instead of conventional hydrophobic surfaces. A superhydrophobic surface is very effective to reduce interfacial energy barrier or adhesion, allowing complete detachment of a droplet from the substrate. While a fixed electric potential (100 Vrms) was applied, the shape deformation and the droplet bouncing were significantly influenced by the frequency of the AC electrowetting. Consistent droplet bouncing only occurred at very narrow frequency ranges (e.g., 30–31 Hz for 8 μL droplets), indicating that resonance dominates the droplet bouncing. Interestingly, the resonance was 1/2 sub-harmonics, where every other actuation was skipped, when the droplet was in the air. Theoretical evaluation of the resonant frequency based on the linear theory implies that the fundamental resonance between the AC electrowetting and the vertical vibration of the shape oscillation could be important to produce consistent droplet bouncing.  相似文献

This paper describes a powerful new technique for nondestructive evaluation of ferromagnetic material. A method has been developed for measuring magnetic Barkhausen signals under different coil resonance frequencies. The measurements allow one to establish the behavior relating the power spectral density maximum and the resonant coil frequency. Time-frequency analysis of Barkhausen signals puts in evidence the tuning regions for each coil, and allows clear identification of each contribution to the Barkhausen signal spectrum. This concept was used in order to evaluate the relation between the degree of plastic deformation in carbon steel samples, and the power spectral density maximum at different resonance frequencies. This result also makes it possible to the selectively modify measurement sensibility to the magnetic Barkhausen signal by using different resonance frequencies.  相似文献

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamics of a beam-type resonant structure due to stretching of the beam is addressed. The resonant beam is excited by attached electrostatic comb-drive actuators. This structure is modeled as a thin beam-lumped mass system, in which an initial axial force is exerted to the beam. This axial force may have different origins, e.g., residual stress due to micro-machining. The governing equations of motion are derived using the mode summation method, generalized orthogonality condition, and multiple scales method for both free and forced vibrations. The effects of the initial axial force, modal damping of the beam, the location, mass, and rotary inertia of the lumped mass on the free and forced vibration of the resonator are investigated. For the case of the forced vibration, the primary resonance of the first mode is investigated. It has been shown that there are certain combinations of the model parameters depicting a remarkable dynamic behavior, in which the second to first resonance frequencies ratio is close to three. These particular cases result in the internal resonance between the first and second modes. This phenomenon is investigated in detail.  相似文献

It was found that thin crystals of polar (non-centrosymmetric) semiconductors constitute a new type of photo-sensitive system in which incident illumination is converted into mechanical energy: thus, illumination-induced elastic deformation (bending) was observed on thin (00.1) CdS and (111) GaAs crystals; furthermore, by employing chopped light the crystals were excited to their resonant vibration (photomechanical vibration); the dependence of the amplitude of this vibration on the energy of the incident radiation was found to be similar to the dependence of the surface photovoltage on the energy of the incident radiation (surface photovoltage spectrum). The present findings are consistent with a model based on light-induced modulation of the piezoelectric surface stresses.  相似文献

An essentially nonlinear piezoelectric shunt circuit is proposed for the practical realization of nonlinear energy sink, and then applied to a mistuned bladed disk for blade vibration reduction. First, the global dynamics of a single degree-of-freedom linear mechanical oscillator, coupled to an essentially nonlinear shunted piezoelectric attachment, is studied. Under certain conditions, the nonlinear targeted energy transfer, i.e. a fast, passive energy transfer from the mechanical oscillator to the nonlinear attachment is observed. A numerical method, referred to as the variable-coefficient harmonic balance method, is developed to calculate quasi-periodic responses arising in the electromechanical system under harmonic forcing. Characterized by the nonexistence of a resonance frequency, the essentially nonlinear shunt circuit is able to work robustly over a broad frequency band with a smaller inductance requirement compared with the linear resonant shunt circuit.  相似文献

以典型的双稳态系统——屈曲梁结构为例,基于等效模型,结合解析、数值和实验手段,研究了双稳态结构中的1/2次谐波共振特性、演化过程、参数调节规律及其对隔振特性的影响.研究发现,当非线性刚度系数或激励幅值增加到一定程度时,系统会在一定带宽下产生显著的1/2次谐波共振;随着激励幅值增加,阻尼系统的1/2次谐波遵循“产生-增强-衰退-消失”的过程,该过程对峰值频率和峰值传递率有重要影响;适当提高非线性强度能有效改善双稳态结构隔振特性.针对双稳态屈曲梁结构开展的实验验证了1/2次谐波特性和隔振特性变化规律.  相似文献

The analysis is carried out of the response of the center of gravity (dipole moment) of the distribution of noninteracting thermalized nonlinear oscillators to a sinusoidal driving force. Heat bath coupling is modeled by damping and noise. The driving is weak, but the frequency is resonant, so that there is a nonlinear resonance in the phase space. The response has a linear part that can be obtained from the perturbation analysis and a small nonlinear correction that is specific for the resonant structure.  相似文献
