Nonparametric factorial designs for multivariate observations are considered under the framework of general rank-score statistics. Unlike most of the literature, we do not assume the continuity of the underlying distribution functions. The models studied include general repeated measures designs, compound symmetry designs, and designs for longitudinal data. In particular, designs for ordered categorical data are included. The vectors of the multivariate observations may have different lengths. Moreover, our general framework includes missing values and singular covariance matrices which occur quite frequently in practical data analysis problems. The asymptotic properties of the proposed statistics are studied under general nonparametric hypotheses as well as under a sequence of nonparametric contiguous alternatives. L2-consistent estimators for the unknown covariance matrices are given and two types of quadratic forms are considered for testing the nonparametric hypotheses. The results are applied to a two-way mixed model assuming compound symmetry and to a factorial design for longitudinal data. The main idea of the proofs is based on some moment inequalities for empirical distribution functions in mixed models. The details are provided in the Appendix.  相似文献

Blocking is often used to reduce known variability in designed experiments by collecting together homogeneous experimental units. A common modeling assumption for such experiments is that responses from units within a block are dependent. Accounting for such dependencies in both the design of the experiment and the modeling of the resulting data when the response is not normally distributed can be challenging, particularly in terms of the computation required to find an optimal design. The application of copulas and marginal modeling provides a computationally efficient approach for estimating population‐average treatment effects. Motivated by an experiment from materials testing, we develop and demonstrate designs with blocks of size two using copula models. Such designs are also important in applications ranging from microarray experiments to experiments on human eyes or limbs with naturally occurring blocks of size two. We present a methodology for design selection, make comparisons to existing approaches in the literature, and assess the robustness of the designs to modeling assumptions.  相似文献

在搜索混料模型D-最优设计的计算机算法领域,主流算法包括经典的Fedorov算法,以及元启发类算法,但两者在一些特定的优化问题上,分别在收敛速度和收敛精度方面有进一步提升的空间.文章分别探讨了可能造成这种情况的两类算法各自的局限性,并采取优势互补的策略,构建了交换点式门限接受算法,即ETA (exchange threshold accepting)算法.以含倒数项混料模型为例,文章验证了ETA算法生成设计的D-最优性,并分别与Fedorov算法和元启发类的ProjPSO算法作比较.结果表明,至少在某些特殊的混料模型D-最优设计的搜索方面,ETA算法在收敛速度和精度方面均具有一定的优势.  相似文献

Sliced Latin hypercube designs are popularly adopted for computer experiments with qualitative factors. Previous constructions require the sizes of different slices to be identical. Here we construct sliced designs with flexible sizes of slices. Besides achieving desirable one-dimensional uniformity, flexible sliced designs (FSDs) constructed in this paper accommodate arbitrary sizes for different slices and cover ordinary sliced Latin hypercube designs as special cases. The sampling properties of FSDs are derived and a central limit theorem is established. It shows that any linear combination of the sample means from different models on slices follows an asymptotic normal distribution. Some simulations compare FSDs with other sliced designs in collective evaluations of multiple computer models.  相似文献

In this article, the problem of constructing efficient discrimination designs in a Fourier regression model is considered. We propose designs which maximize the power of the F-test, which discriminates between the two highest order models, subject to the constraints that the tests that discriminate between lower order models have at least some given relative power. A complete solution is presented in terms of the canonical moments of the optimal designs, and for the special case of equal constraints even more specific formulae are available.  相似文献

Gompertz functions have been widely used in characterizing biological growth curves. In this paper we consider D-optimal designs for Gompertz regression models. For homoscedastic Gompertz regression models with two or three parameters, we prove that D-optimal designs are minimally supported. Considering that minimally supported designs might not be applicable in practice, alternative designs are proposed. Using the D-optimal designs as benchmark designs, these alternative designs are found to be efficient in general.  相似文献

Sliced Latin hypercube designs are very useful for running a computer model in batches, ensembles of multiple computer models, computer experiments with qualitative and quantitative factors, cross-validation and data pooling. However, the presence of highly correlated columns makes the data analysis intractable. In this paper, a construction method for sliced (nearly) orthogonal Latin hypercube designs is developed. The resulting designs have flexible sizes and most are new. With the orthogonality or near orthogonality being guaranteed, the space-filling property of the resulting designs is also improved. Consider the design problem for estimation and extrapolation in approximately linear regression models with possible misspecification. The design space is a discrete set consisting of finitely many points, and the model bias comes from a reproducing kernel Hilbert space. Two different design criteria are proposed by applying the minimax approach for estimating the parameters of the regression response and extrapolating the regression response to points outside of the design space. A simulated annealing algorithm is applied to construct the minimax designs.These minimax designs are compared with the classical D-optimal designs and all-bias extrapolation designs. Numerical results indicate that the simulated annealing algorithm is feasible and the minimax designs are robust against bias caused by model misspecification.  相似文献

An efficient algorithm for the determination of Bayesian optimal discriminating designs for competing regression models is developed, where the main focus is on models with general distributional assumptions beyond the “classical” case of normally distributed homoscedastic errors. For this purpose, we consider a Bayesian version of the Kullback–Leibler (KL). Discretizing the prior distribution leads to local KL-optimal discriminating design problems for a large number of competing models. All currently available methods either require a large amount of computation time or fail to calculate the optimal discriminating design, because they can only deal efficiently with a few model comparisons. In this article, we develop a new algorithm for the determination of Bayesian optimal discriminating designs with respect to the Kullback–Leibler criterion. It is demonstrated that the new algorithm is able to calculate the optimal discriminating designs with reasonable accuracy and computational time in situations where all currently available procedures are either slow or fail.  相似文献

In this paper we consider complex deterministic problems, where there are two models that can be used to predict the performance for a given design. One of the models can give a precise estimation, but is complex and time consuming. The other model is simple and fast, but can only give a very crude estimation. We have proposed a learning-based ordinal optimization approach to tackle this problem. In this approach, we first run a simple model for all the designs and a complex model for a few designs, and then, through regression analysis, we estimate the noise trend, and this noise trend together with the crude estimates from the simple model will be used to screen the designs. The proposed approach is applied to solve an integrally bladed rotor (IBR) manufacturing problem where the production sequence and the production parameters need to be determined in order to minimize the overall manufacturing cost while satisfying the manufacturing constraints. The results indicate that, by using a very crude and simple model, we are able to identify good designs with a high degree of confidence.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce an appealing nonparametric method for estimating variance and conditional variance functions in generalized linear models (GLMs), when designs are fixed points and random variables respectively, Bias-corrected confidence bands are proposed for the (conditional) variance by local linear smoothers. Nonparametric techniques are developed in deriving the bias-corrected confidence intervals of the (conditional) variance. The asymptotic distribution of the proposed estimator is established and show that the bias-corrected confidence bands asymptotically have the correct coverage properties. A small simulation is performed when unknown regression parameter is estimated by nonparametric quasi-likelihood. The results are also applicable to nonparamctric autoregressive times series model with heteroscedastic conditional variance.  相似文献
