Summary The title complexes of general formula [Cu(HL)Cl2] or [Cu(L)Cl] have been isolated and characterized by 1H and 13C-n.m.r., i.r. and electronic spectra. The i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectral data for the CuII complexes are compared with those of previously studied complexes. The antitumour and antiviral activities of the thiosemicarbazones and their complexes are discussed.  相似文献

Summary The synthesis and characterization of new NiII, PdII, PtII and CoIII complexes, with the BF inf2 sup+ -bridged,bis(-di-oximato) ligands are described. The initially formed six-coordinate hydrogen-bonded macrocycles, were used as metal templates to prepare the corresponding BF inf2 sup+ - capped macrocycles. Neutral complexes of CuII have been synthesised from the Schiff bases derived from salicylidene-4-aminoantipyrine and PhNH2/substituted anilines. The structural features have been determined from their microanalytical, i.r., u.v.–vis., 1H-, 13C-n.m.r., mass and e.s.r. spectral data. All the complexes exhibit square-planar geometry. Their magnetic susceptibility measurements and low conductance data provide evidence for the monomeric and non-electrolytic natures of the complexes respectively. The electrochemical behaviour of the complexes in MeCN at 298 K was studied. The kinetic parameters were determined and are discussed. The X-band e.s.r. spectra of the complexes in DMSO at 300 and 77 K were recorded and their salient features are reported. The powder XRD diffraction patterns for all the complexes are found to be similar. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and their copper complexes against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aerugenosa and Bacillus subtilis are also reported. The complexes have higher activities than those of the free Schiff bases. Moreover, they have higher activity than the control (ampicillin) except for Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aerugenosa.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) complexes of a large number of 2-acetylpyridine 4N-alkyl thiosemicarbazones were prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, were obtained. Both the thiosemicarbazones and their complexes show either modest or no growth inhibitory activity against Aspergillus niger, but many have considerable activity against Paecilomyces variotii. There is a relationship between the antifungal activity and size of the 4N-substituent for both the thiosemicarbazones and their copper(II) complexes.  相似文献

Summary Binuclear copper(II) complexes with six 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde N(3)-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as i.r., electronic, and 1H-and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. The crystal structure of a monomeric copper(II) complex of 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde piperidyl-thiosemicarbazone, H25NO2Sapip, grown from DMF solution, has been solved. Neither the thiosemicarbazones or their binuclear copper(II) complexes show growth inhibitory activity against Aspergillus niger, but the copper(II) complexes show some activity against the fungus Paecilomyces variotii.  相似文献

Summary The 4-hydroxyphenylthiocarboxyhydrazide (Hoth) ligand has been characterized by i.r.,1H and13C spectral studies. Its metal complexes with FeII, CoII,III, NiII, CuII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility. Mössbauer, visible, e.s.r., i.r.,1H and13C n.m.r. spectral studies. The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes are discussed. New bidentate N-(2,6-di-phenyl-1-hydroxyphenyl) salicylaldimines bearing X = H and 3,5-di-t-butyl substituents on the salicylaldehyde ring, L x H, and their copper(II) complexes, Cu(L x )2, have been synthesized and characterized by i.r., u.v./vis., 1H-n.m.r., 13C-n.m.r., e.s.r. spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. E.s.r. study has shown that chemical oxidation of Cu(L x )2 with PbO2 produces ligand-centered CuII-phenoxyl radical species. The complexes are easily reduced with PPh3 via intramolecular electron transfer from ligand to copper(II) to give unstable radical intermediates, which in time are converted to another stable secondary radical species. The analysis of e.s.r. spectra of Cu(L x )2 and generated radical intermediates are presented.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of 2-formylpyridine 3-piperidinyl-, 3-hexamethyleneiminyl- and 3-azabicyclo-[3.2.2]nonylthiosemicarbazones were prepared and characterized spectroscopically. 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones and a diamagnetic nickel(II) complex are reported, together with i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the metal complexes. The thiosemicarbazones and their copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes exhibit considerable growth inhibitory activity against Paecilomyces variotii, but show minimal activity against Aspergillus niger.  相似文献

Two new, Schiff base ligands containing cyclobutane and thiazole rings, 4-(1-methyl-1-mesitylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2,4-dihydroxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L1H) and 4-(1-methyl-1-mesitycyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L2H) and their mononuclear complexes with a 1:2 metal-ligand ratio have been prepared with acetate salts of CoII, CuII, NiII and ZnII in EtOH. The structures of the ligands and their complexes have been established by microanalyses, i.r., u.v.–vis., 13C- and 1H-n.m.r. spectra, and by magnetic susceptibility measurements. The complexes are mononuclear. Thermal properties of the ligands and complexes have been studied by t.g.a. and d.s.c. techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the ligands and their complexes have been tested against eight different microorganisms. Some of the complexes and L1H were found to be active against some of the microorganisms studied.  相似文献

Macrocyclic Schiff-bases, L1 and L2, and bis-macrocyclic ligands, L3 and L4, have been prepared by [1 + 1] and [2 + 1] cyclocondensation of 1,7-bis(2-formylphenyl)-1,4,7-trioxaheptane or 2,6-bis(2-formylphenoxymethyl)pyridine with 2,6-bis(o-aminophenoxymethyl)pyridine or 1,2,4,5-tetraaminebenzene · 4HCl, respectively. The related YIII, MII (M=Co, Ni, Zn, Cd or Pb) and LnIII nitrate or perchlorate complexes have been synthesised following a template procedure, demonstrating the effectiveness of these metal ions to promote the assembly of these four symmetric Schiff-base macrocycles. The complexes were characterised by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, mass spectrometry, i.r., u.v.–vis, and 1H-n.m.r spectroscopy.  相似文献

The cytotoxic and antitumour activities of four curcuminoid analogues, namely 1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione (HL1), 1,7-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione (HL2), 1,7-bis(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione (HL3), 1,7-bis(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione (HL4) and their CuII complexes were investigated.The Cu complexes were found to be more active as antitumour agents compared to the free curcuminoids, in both in vitro studies and in increasing the life span of tumour bearing mice. The synthesis and characterization of the curcuminoid analogues and their CuII chelates employing u.v., i.r., 1 H-n.m.r., e.s.r. and mass spectral studies are also included in this report.  相似文献

Summary o-Hydroxyacetophenone (N-benzoyl)glycyl hydrazone (o-HABzGH) has been characterized by i.r.,1H n.m.r.,13C n.m.r. and mass spectral studies, and its complexes of the types [Ln(o-HABzGH)Cl2(H2O)2]Cl and [Ln(o-HABzGH–2H)OH(H2O)3], where Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm and Eu, have been synthesized. The structures of the complexes have been studied by conductance, magnetic, electronic, i.r.,1H n.m.r. and13C n.m.r. spectral techniques. The hypersensitive bands of the electronic spectra suggest coordination numbers six and seven around NdIII in its adduct and neutral complexes respectively. I.r. and n.m.r. spectral data suggest a neutral bidentate behaviour for the ligand in the adducts and a dinegative tridentate nature in the neutral complexes.  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) complexes with 2-aminoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone and three N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been prepared in ethanolic solution and characterized by physical and spectral methods. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as i.r., electronic, and 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. The 2-aminoacetophenone thiosemicarbazones coordinate as neutral ligands via the thiosemicarbazone moiety's azomethine nitrogen and thione sulfur, except for the piperidylthiosemicarbazone, which undergoes deprotonation and coordinates via the thiolato sulfur, as well as through the azomethine nitrogen. Complexes formed in the presence of triethylamine also form complexes with the anionic form of these thiosemicarbazones.  相似文献

1,9-Dioxa-3,6-dithiacyclotridecane-10,12-dione (L1), and 1,4-dioxa-7,10-dithiacyclododecane-2,3-dione, (L2), two novel ligands, and their mono- and di-nuclear copper(II) and/or nickel(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, 1H- and 13C-n.m.r., i.r., magnetic moments and mass spectral studies. Elemental analyses, stochiometric and spectroscopic data on the complexes indicate that the metal ions are coordinated to the nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur atoms and the data support the proposed structure for the diones and their mono–dinuclear copper(II) complexes. Moreover, copper(II) complexes of the dione ligands have a 1:1 metal:ligand ratio.  相似文献

Coordination compounds of MnII, CuII, FeIII and ZnII ions with 4-acetylpyridine nicotinoylhydrazone (4-APNH) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, magnetic moments, i.r., u.v./vis., m.s., 1H-n.m.r. and thermal analyses. I.r. spectra show that the ligand can act either in the enol form as monovalent bidentate or in the keto form as neutral bidentate depending on the metal salt used. Octahedral structures are proposed for Fe complex and square – planar for the Cu complex, while tetrahedral structures were suggested for Zn and Mn complexes on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidences. Semi-empirical calculations ZINDO/1 have been used to study the molecular geometry and the harmonic vibrational spectra with the purpose to assist the experimental assignment of the complexes. The synthesis of some new manganese(II), oxovanadium(V) and dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes with 5-chloro-1,3-dihydro-3-[2-(phenyl)-ethylidene]-2H-indol-2-one-hydrazinecarbothioamide (L1H) and 5-chloro-1,3-dihydro-3-[2-(phenyl)-ethylidene]-2H-indol-2-one-hydrazinecarboxamide (L2H) were carried out in unimolar and bimolar ratios. All the new derivatives have been characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations, molar conductance, magnetic measurements, i.r., 1H-n.m.r. and e.s.r. studies. The i.r. and n.m.r. spectral data suggest the involvement of sulphur/oxygen and azomethine nitrogen in coordination to the central metal ion. The magnetic moment values of the manganese(II) complexes are in the 5.85–6.13 B.M. range, suggesting a high spin state in these complexes. Based on these spectral studies tetrahedral geometry for the manganese(II) complexes and octahedral geometry for the molybdenum complexes has been proposed. In the case of the oxovanadium complexes vanadium is in the penta and hexa coordinated environments. Compounds have been synthesized in an open vessel under microwave irradiation (MWI) using a domestic microwave oven. The reaction time decreases from hours to minutes with improved yield as compared to conventional heating. The free ligands and their metal complexes have been tested in vitro against a number of microorganisms in order to assess their antimicrobial properties. The results indicate that the ligands and their respective metal derivatives possess antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

A new approach combining the molecular mechanics (MM) method and the Gillespie-Kepert model was applied to calculate the geometry and strain energy of zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes with amino- and pyridyl-containing ligands. High accuracy of calculations of the geometry was demonstrated for more than 20 complexes of these metals. Typical r.m.s. deviations between the calculated and experimental values (X-ray diffraction analysis) were 0.02 Å for bond lengths, 2° for bond angles, and 4° for torsion angles. The size-match selectivity of several macrocycles and polydentate open-chain ligands was studied. Correlations between the calculated strain energies of metal complexes and the experimental values of their stability constants and enthalpies of formation are discussed.  相似文献

I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. Both the thiosemicarbazones and their CuII complexes show either modest or no growth inhibitory activity against Paecilomyces variotii. Some of the thiosemicarbazones demonstrated significant activity against tumour cell strains.  相似文献
