Order of a function on the Bruschlinsky group of a two-dimensional polyhedron

Homotopy classes of mappings of a compact polyhedron X to the circle T form an Abelian group B(X), which is called the Bruschlinsky group and is cananically isomorphic to H ¹ (X; ℤ), Let L be an Abelian group, and let f: B(X) → L be a function. One says that the order of f does not exceed r if for each mapping a: X → T the value f([a]) is ℤ-linearly expressed via the characteristic function I _r (a): (X × T) ^r → ℤ of (Γ _a ) ^r , where Γ _a ⊂ X × T is the graph of a. The (algebraic) degree of f is not greater than r if the finite differences of f of order r + 1 vanish. Conjecturally, the order of f is equal to the algebraic degree of f. The conjecture is proved in the case where dim X ≤ 2. Bibliography: 1 title.

关于两个群元素乘积的阶的研究

本文主要讨论满足交换性的两个元素乘积的阶的问题。设G是一个群,a,b∈G,ab=ba,a的阶为n1,b的阶为n2。一般情况下ab的阶不等于n1与n2的最小公倍数。例如当a=b,n1=n2=4时,ab=a2,ο(ab)=2≠[n1,n2]。本文获得了ab的阶等于n1与n2的最小公倍数的几个充分条件。

A Bound on the Order of Non-Abelian Tensor Square of a Prime-Power Group

Supertropical matrix theory was investigated in [6 Izhakian , Z. , Rowen , L. ( 2011 ). Supertropical matrix algebra III: powers of matrices and their supertropical eigenvalues . Journal of Algebra 341 ( 1 ): 125 – 149 .[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]], whose terminology we follow. In this work we investigate eigenvalues, characteristic polynomials and coefficients of characteristic polynomials of supertropical matrices and their powers, and obtain the analog to the basic property of matrices that any power of an eigenvalue of a matrix is an eigenvalue of the corresponding power of the matrix.     

Group Theoretic Properties of the Group of Computable Automorphisms of a Countable Dense Linear Order

We compare Aut(Q), the classical automorphism group of a countable dense linear order, with Aut _c (Q), the group of all computable automorphisms of such an order. They have a number of similarities, including the facts that every element of each group is a commutator and each group has exactly three nontrivial normal subgroups. However, the standard proofs of these facts in Aut(Q) do not work for Aut _c (Q). Also, Aut(Q) has three fundamental properties which fail in Aut _c (Q): it is divisible, every element is a commutator of itself with some other element, and two elements are conjugate if and only if they have isomorphic orbital structures.     

The Bruhat Order on the Involutions of the Symmetric Group

In this paper we study the partially ordered set of the involutions of the symmetric group S _n with the order induced by the Bruhat order of S _n. We prove that this is a graded poset, with rank function given by the average of the number of inversions and the number of excedances, and that it is lexicographically shellable, hence Cohen-Macaulay, and Eulerian.

The L* Partial Order on the Set of Group Matrices

In this paper,we use the L(o)wner partial order and the star partial order to introduce a new partial order (denoted by "L*") on the set of group matrices,and get some characteristics and properties of the new partial order.In particular,we prove that the L* partial order is a special kind of the core par-tial order and it is equivalent to the star partial order under some conditions.We also illustrate its difference from other partial orders with examples and find out under what conditions it is equivalent to other partial orders.

Hochschild Cohomology Ring of an Order of a Simple Component of the Rational Group Ring of the Generalized Quaternion Group

We will give an efficient bimodule projective resolution of an order Γ, where Γ is an order of a simple component of the rational group ring ? Q _{2 ^r} of the generalized quaternion 2-group Q _{2 ^r} of order 2 ^r+2. Moreover, we will determine the ring structure of the Hochschild cohomology HH*(Γ) by calculating the Yoneda products using this bimodule projective resolution.
