This paper reports the optical properties of Dy(3+) in sodium fluoroborate glasses of the type XNaF.(89-X)B(2)O(3).10 Al(2)O(3).1Dy(2)O(3) (where X=8, 12, 16, 20 and 24). Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters (Omega(2), Omega(4), Omega(6)) are derived from the absorption spectra. The Judd-Ofelt theory has been applied to interpret the local environment of Dy(3+) ions and bond covalency of RE-O bond. These parameters have been used to calculate radiative transition probabilities (A(rad)), lifetimes (tau(R)) and branching ratios (beta(R)) for the excited level (4)F(9/2). The predicted values of tau(R) are compared with the measured values for (4)F(9/2) level for five glass compositions (Glass (A-E)). The stimulated emission cross-section sigma(lambda(P)) are also evaluated for the (4)F(9/2)-->(6)H(J) (J=11/2, 13/2, and 15/2) transitions.  相似文献

This paper reports on the spectral properties of Mn2+, Co2+ and Ni2+ ions doped B2O3-ZnO-PbO glasses. XRD, FT-IR spectra and DSC profiles of these glasses have also been carried out, and the FT-IR profiles have shown the presence of both BO3 and BO4 units. It is interesting to notice that the FT-IR peak positions are slightly shifted towards higher energy with an increase in transition metal ion concentration change. From the measured DSC thermograms, glass transition (T(g)), crystallization (T(c)) and temperature of melting (T(m)) have been evaluated. From the UV absorption spectra of Mn2+, Co2+ and Ni2+ ions doped glasses, both direct and indirect optical band gaps have been calculated. The visible absorption spectra of Mn2+:glasses have shown a broad absorption band at 520 nm (6A1g(S) --> 4T1g(G)); with Co2+ ions one absorption band at 605 nm (4A2(4F) --> 4T1(4P)) and another at 1450 nm (4A2(4F) --> 4T1(4F)); and for Ni2+:glasses three absorption bands at 420 nm (3A2g(F) --> 3T1g(P)), 805 nm (3A2g(F) --> 1Eg(D)) and 880 nm (3A2g(F) --> 3T1g(F)) have been observed. For Mn2+:glasses, upon excitation with 262 nm, a green emission (539 nm) with a slight blue shift; and with 392 nm, a green emission (534 nm) with a slight red shift with Mn2+ ions concentration change (0.2-0.5 mol%) has been observed. This green emission has been assigned to (4T1(G) --> 6A1(S)) d-d transition of Mn2+ ions that are in tetrahedral co-ordination. For 0.5 mol% Co2+ ions doped glass, upon excitation with 580 nm, a red emission (625 nm) has been observed which originates from 2E(2G) --> 4A2(4F) transition of Co2+ ions in tetrahedral co-ordination. For Ni2+ ions doped glasses upon excitation with 420 nm, a green (577 nm) and red (670 nm) emissions are observed and are assigned to (1T2g(D) --> 3A2g(F)) and (1T2g(D) --> 3T2g(F)) d-d transitions of Ni2+ ions in octahedral co-ordination.  相似文献

Er(3+)/Yb(3+) co-doped 60Bi(2)O(3)-(40 - x)B(2)O(3)-xGeO(2) (BBG; x=0, 5, 10, 15 mol%) glasses that are suitable for fiber lasers, amplifiers have been fabricated and characterized. The absorption spectra, emission spectra, and lifetime of the (4)I(13/2) level and quantum efficiency of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition were measured and calculated. With the substitution of GeO(2) for B(2)O(3), both Delta lambda(eff) and sigma(e) decrease from 75 to 71 nm and 9.88 to 8.12 x 10(-21) cm(2), respectively. The measured lifetime of the (4)I(13/2) level and quantum efficiency of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition increase from 1.18 to 1.5 ms and 36.2% to 43.2%, respectively. The emission spectra of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition was also analyzed using a peak-fit routine, and an equivalent four-level system was proposed to estimate the stark splitting for the (4)I(15/2) and (4)I(13/2) levels of Er(3+) in the BBG glasses. The results indicate that the (4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) emission of Er(3+) can be exhibit a considerable broadening due to a significant enhance the peak A, and D emission.  相似文献

This paper reports on the structural and emission properties of newly synthesized Sm(3+) and Dy(3+):MgLaLiSi(2)O(7) powder phosphors based on the measurement of their XRD, SEM, FTIR and photoluminescence spectra. Emission spectra of the Sm(3+):MgLaLiSi(2)O(7) phosphors with lambda(exci)=402 nm ((6)H(5/2)-->(4)F(7/2)) and Dy(3+):MgLaLiSi(2)O(7) phosphors with lambda(exci)=385 nm ((6)H(15/2)-->(4)I(13/2)) have been analyzed. Emission mechanisms of these phosphors have also been explained.  相似文献

The Crystal Structure of Cu2M(BO3)O2 (M = Fe3+, Ga3+) Single Crystals of the compounds Cu2M(BO3)O2 (M = Fe3+ (I), Ga3+ (II)) were obtained by a B2O3 flux-technique. They crystallize in a monoclinic distorted variant of a Ludwigite structure with a partly ordered metal distribution. X-ray investigations on single crystals led to the space group C–P21/c (No. 14); I: a = 3.108(1); b = 12.003(1); c = 9.459(3) Å; b? = 96.66(3)°; Z = 4 and II: a = 3.1146(2); b = 11.921(3); c = 9.477(2) Å; b? = 97.91(2)°; Z = 4. All metal-sites are distorted octahedraly coordinated by oxygen-ions. The structure contains isolated planar BO3-units and oxygen which is not coordinated to boron.  相似文献

On a New Copper Cobalt Borate Oxide with Isolated B2O5 Units: Cu2Co(B2O5)O Single crystals of a new compound with the empirical formula Cu2CoB2O6 were obtained by using a B2O3 flux technique. X-ray single crystal technique led to a new structure type. Cu2CoB2O6 crystallizes monoclinic, space group C-P21/c (No. 14); a = 3.2250(6); b = 14.847(1); c = 9.1171(6) Å; β = 93.67°; Z = 4. All metal sites are octahedrally coordinated and form a two dimensional framework consisting of edge sharing octahedra ribbons. In addition one observes isolated B2O5-units and oxygen which is not coordinated to boron. The far relation to the crystal structure of the mineral Warwickite is illustrated.  相似文献

Size- (submicrometer-sized) and morphology- (spherical) controlled composite Gd-Eu oxalate particles were prepared in an emulsion liquid membrane (water-in-oil-in-water emulsion) system. The oxalate particles thus prepared were calcined in air to obtain Gd(2)O(3) : Eu(3+) phosphor particles and in sulfur atmosphere to obtain Gd(2)O(2)S : Eu(3+) phosphor particles. These submicrometer-sized spherical phosphor particles showed photoluminescence properties with emission peak at 614 nm for Gd(2)O(3) : Eu(3+) and 628 nm for Gd(2)O(2)S : Eu(3+).  相似文献

(100-x)TeO(2)-xNb(2)O(5) (x=5-20) niobic tellurite glasses doped with 0.5 mol.% Er(2)O(3) were synthesized, and their thermal, mechanical, and spectroscopic properties were measured and compared to the properties of the typical 75TeO(2)-20ZnO-5Na(2)O (TZN) tellurite glass. The refractive index (n(d)), density (rho), and glass transition temperature (T(g)) of bulk glasses increase with the Nb(2)O(5) content. The Vickers microhardness (H(v)) of bulk glass in niobic tellurite glasses also increases with the Nb(2)O(5) content. The values (2.5-3.2GPa) of H(v) in the niobic tellurite glasses are 47-88% larger than that (1.7GPa) in TZN glass. The effect of Nb(2)O(5) content on absorption spectra, the Judd-Ofelt parameters Omega(t) (t=2, 4, 6), fluorescence spectra and the lifetimes of Er(3+):I(13/2) level were also investigated, and the stimulated emission cross-section was calculated from McCumber theory. With increasing Nb(2)O(5) content in the glass composition, the Omega(t) (t=2, 4, 6) parameters, fluorescence full width at half maximum (FWHM) of I(13/2) of Er(3+) increase, while the (4)I(13/2) lifetimes of Er(3+) decreases. Compared with TZN glass, the gain bandwidth properties of Er(3+)-doped TeO(2)-Nb(2)O(5) glass is much larger than in tellurite glass based TeO(2)-ZnO-Na(2)O system, bismush-based glass, germanate, and silicate glasses, which indicates that TeO(2)-Nb(2)O(5) glasses are better choice as a practical available host material for broadband Er(3+)-doped amplifier.  相似文献

The X-band EPR study of a polycrystalline Cs2Cu(ZrF6)2*6H2O demonstrates a feature of plasticity of the Jahn-Teller Cu(H2O)6 complex in the crystal lattice of this compound. The temperature- and pressure-induced evolution of the spectra shows that the copper complex is extremely sensitive to these factors, which due to the ferroelastic properties of the compound studied modify the internal tetragonal and orthorhombic strains acting on the complex. It is supported by the analysis of the temperature dependencies of the principal values of the g-factor under various pressures, indicating that the complex varies its shape adapting it to the varied conditions. A pressure-induced phase transition is discovered.  相似文献

The structure of laser glasses in the system (Y(2)O(3))(0.2){(Al(2)O(3))(x))(B(2)O(3))(0.8-x)} (0.15 ≤ x ≤ 0.40) has been investigated by means of (11)B, (27)Al, and (89)Y solid state NMR as well as electron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) of Yb-doped samples. The latter technique has been applied for the first time to an aluminoborate glass system. (11)B magic-angle spinning (MAS)-NMR spectra reveal that, while the majority of the boron atoms are three-coordinated over the entire composition region, the fraction of three-coordinated boron atoms increases significantly with increasing x. Charge balance considerations as well as (11)B NMR lineshape analyses suggest that the dominant borate species are predominantly singly charged metaborate (BO(2/2)O(-)), doubly charged pyroborate (BO(1/2)(O(-))(2)), and (at x = 0.40) triply charged orthoborate groups. As x increases along this series, the average anionic charge per trigonal borate group increases from 1.38 to 2.91. (27)Al MAS-NMR spectra show that the alumina species are present in the coordination states four, five and six, and the fraction of four-coordinated Al increases markedly with increasing x. All of the Al coordination states are in intimate contact with both the three- and the four-coordinate boron species and vice versa, as indicated by (11)B/(27)Al rotational echo double resonance (REDOR) data. These results are consistent with the formation of a homogeneous, non-segregated glass structure. (89)Y solid state NMR spectra show a significant chemical shift trend, reflecting that the second coordination sphere becomes increasingly "aluminate-like" with increasing x. This conclusion is supported by electron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) data of Yb-doped glasses, which indicate that both borate and aluminate species participate in the medium range structure of the rare-earth ions, consistent with a random spatial distribution of the glass components.  相似文献

Copper doped sodium leadbismuthate glasses were prepared in the chemical composition (wt.%) 35Bi2O3+35PbO+(30-x)Na2O+xCuO (where x=1, 2, 3 and 4). The optical spectra of the glasses have been investigated. The optical absorption spectra of Cu2+ doped glasses show a broad absorption band between 560 and 880 nm, which is attributed to the 2Eg-->2T2g transition of Cu2+ ion. FTIR spectral studies confirm the Bi-O bonds and the presence of [BiO3] pyramidal units.  相似文献

The magnetic structures of the Cu(2)O(3) spin lattices present in Cu(4)O(3) and Ag(2)Cu(2)O(3) were analyzed by studying their spin exchange interactions on the basis of spin dimer analysis. Calculations of spin exchange parameters were calibrated by studying LiCuVO(4) whose intrachain and interchain antiferromagnetic spin exchange parameters are known experimentally. The magnetic phase transition of Cu(4)O(3) at 42.3 K doubles the unit cell along each crystallographic direction. The spin arrangements of the Cu(2)O(3) lattice consistent with this experimental observation are different from conventional antiferromagnetic ordering. Our analysis indicates that spin fluctuation should occur in Cu(4)O(3), low-dimensional magnetism should be more important than magnetic frustration in Cu(4)O(3), and Ag(2)Cu(2)O(3) and Cu(4)O(3) should have similar structural and magnetic properties.  相似文献

A new open-framework copper borophosphate was hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Its structure may be regarded as a layer forming via vertex-sharing BO3(OH) and PO4 tetrahedra bonded together with CuO2(OH)2(H2O)2 octahedral units. The thermal stability and magnetic properties are also discussed.  相似文献

Glasses in the system Cu2O-P2O5-MoO3 were prepared. The transformation temperature of glasses,T g, ranges from 122 to 436°C and depends strongly on their composition.T g values are mainly controlled by the oxygen-packing density. The structure of glasses was studied by infrared spectroscopy. The presence of various phosphate and molybdate units, from discrete monomeric to those with three-dimensional networks, has been observed. The electrical conductivity of prepared glasses depends mainly on Cu2O content and varies from 10–14–1cm–1, for the glass free of Cu2O, to 10–6–1cm–1, for glasses with compositions near of the binary Cu2O-MoO3 composition. This work was supported by grant No 1/731/94 of the Slovak Grant Agency for Science. The paper was presented on TERMANAL'94, XIII. International Conference on Thermal Analysis, October 1994, High Tatras, Slovakia.  相似文献

Three malonato-bridged copper(II) complexes of the formulas [[Cu(H2O)3][Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)]]n (1), [[Cu(H2O)4]2[Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)]] [Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2][[Cu(H2O)4][Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2]] (2), and [Cu(H2O)4][Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2] (3) (C3H2O4 = malonate dianion) have been prepared, and the structures of the two former have been solved by X-ray diffraction methods. The structure of compound 3 was already known. Complex 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pcab, Z = 8, with unit cell parameters of a = 10.339(1) A, b = 13.222(2) A, and c = 17.394(4) A. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2/c, Z = 4, with unit cell parameters of a = 21.100(4) A, b = 21.088(4) A, c = 14.007(2) A, and beta = 115.93(2) degrees. Complex 1 is a chain compound with a regular alternation of aquabis(malonato)copper(II) and triaquacopper(II) units developing along the z axis. The aquabis(malonato)copper(II) unit acts as a bridging ligand through two slightly different trans-carboxylato groups exhibiting an anti-syn coordination mode. The four carboxylate oxygens, in the basal plane, and the one water molecule, in the apical position, describe a distorted square pyramid around Cu1, whereas the same metal surroundings are observed around Cu2 but with three water molecules and one carboxylate oxygen building the equatorial plane and a carboxylate oxygen from another malonato filling the apical site. Complex 2 is made up of discrete mono-, di-, and trinuclear copper(II) complexes of the formulas [Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2]2-, [[Cu(H2O)4] [Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2]], and [[Cu(H2O)4]2[Cu(C3H2O4)2(H2O)]]2+, respectively, which coexist in a single crystal. The copper environment in the mononuclear unit is that of an elongated octahedron with four carboxylate oxygens building the equatorial plane and two water molecules assuming the axial positions. The neutral dinuclear unit contains two types of copper atoms, one that is six-coordinated, as in the mononuclear entity, and another that is distorted square pyramidal with four water molecules building the basal plane and a carboxylate oxygen in the apical position. The overall structure of this dinuclear entity is nearly identical to that of compound 3. Finally, the cationic trimer consists of an aquabis(malonato)copper(II) complex that acts as a bismonodentate ligand through two cis-carboxylato groups (anti-syn coordination mode) toward two tetraaqua-copper(II) terminal units. The environment of the copper atoms is distorted square pyramidal with four carboxylate oxygens (four water molecules) building the basal plane of the central (terminal) copper atom and a water molecule (a carboxylate oxygen) filling the axial position. The magnetic properties of 1-3 have been investigated in the temperature range 1.9-290 K. Overall, ferromagnetic behavior is observed in the three cases: two weak, alternating intrachain ferromagnetic interactions (J = 3.0 cm-1 and alpha J = 1.9 cm-1 with H = -J sigma i[S2i.S2i-1 + alpha S2i.S2i+1]) occur in 1, whereas the magnetic behavior of 2 is the sum of a magnetically isolated spin doublet and ferromagnetically coupled di- (J3 = 1.8 cm-1 from the magnetic study of the model complex 3) and trinuclear (J = 1.2 cm-1 with H = -J (S1.S2 + S1.S3) copper(II) units. The exchange pathway that accounts for the ferromagnetic coupling, through an anti-syn carboxylato bridge, is discussed in the light of the available magneto-structural data.  相似文献

A new polymorph of nonacopper(II) bis(orthoborate) bis(hexaoxodiborate), Cu9(BO3)2(B2O6)2, or Cu3B2O6 with Z′ = 3, has a pseudo‐layered monoclinic structure containing BO3 triangles and B2O6 units consisting of corner‐sharing BO3 triangles and BO4 tetrahedra. The compound was obtained during an investigation of the Li–Cu–B–O system. In contrast to the triclinic form of Cu3B2O6, the layers are linked to one another by BO4 tetrahedra.  相似文献
