Expressions for the temperature coefficients of frequency for magnetostatic waves in tangentially magnetized ferrite films having cubic anisotropy are obtained and analyzed. It is shown that in cases where the cubic axis lies in the plane of the film, temperature-induced changes in both the magnitude and direction of the external field can be used for thermostabilization of the frequencies. The problem of two-frequency thermostabilization is considered. The results of experimental investigations of the temperature characteristics of magnetization waves in a tangentially magnetized film of yttrium iron garnet with a {100} surface are presented. Zh. The propagation of surface and volume magnetostatic waves in unsaturated films of yttrium iron garnet is studied experimentally for the case when the wavelength greatly exceeds the domain width, while the domain width is comparable to the film thickness. The characteristics of these waves are examined for symmetric linear, asymmetric linear, and symmetric zigzag strip domain structures in the films. The effect of induced uniaxial anisotropy on the properties and parameters of the domain structure and phase transitions in yttrium-iron garnet (YIG) films is investigated. Based on the measurements and the derived formulas we determine the difference between the magnetization and the uniaxial anisotropy field for each of the films. We have also measured the parameters of the domain structures and phase transitions of the films for the magnetization parallel and perpendicular to the projections of the [111] crystallographic axes onto the plane of the film. We find that films of pure YIG films grown in (111) are characterized by the existence of some critical value of the uniaxial anisotropy field. It is found that for films in which the uniaxial anisotropy field is larger than this critical value and films in which it is less than this critical value, such parameters of the domain structures as the ratio of the width of the domains to the film thickness, the orientation of the magnetization of the domains, the orientation of the domain boundaries, and the magnitudes of the phase transition fields differ substantially. Analytical expressions are derived for the derivatives of the frequencies of magnetostatic waves with respect to the external magnetic field in anisotropic ferromagnetic films. Surface magnetoelastic Love waves and nonuniform distributions of the magnetization and elastic strains are investigated in a uniaxial ferromagnetic film on a massive nonmagnetic substrate in a tangential external magnetic field. A new inhomogeneous phase is predicted having spatial modulation of the order parameter, arising from magnetostrictive coupling of the magnetization with lattice strains near the interface of the magnetoelastic and elastic media. It is shown that, at some critical magnetic field H c, different from the orientational transition field in an isolated sample, a magnetoelastic Love wave propagating parallel to the magnetization vector in the film plane becomes unstable. The frequency and group velocity of the wave vanish at wave number k=k c≠0 and the wave freezes, forming a domain structure localized in the film and adjoining substrate. Fiz. Tverd. The magnetostatic spin wave theory in (111)-oriented ferromagnetic films characterized by cubic and uniaxial anisotropies (CUA) is developed. The theory is discussed for two cases when the magnetization vector is perpendicular or parallel to the sample plane. In CUA films, instead of the usually discussed magnetostatic surface waves known for the isotropic case, a new type of surface waves was found with the complex wavevector component normal to the surface.It is shown that for the pure yttrium-iron-garnet film the influence of the CUA effects on the dispersion characteristics of the surface waves is not very substantial.  相似文献

Thin uniaxial ferromagnetic films with the easy-magnetization axis oriented perpendicularly to the film plane are considered. The process of ideal magnetization of films with a twisted unipolar periodic domain structure is investigated by computer simulation. It is shown that during film magnetization the degree of twistedness of domain walls decreases and the magnetic structure becomes domainless.  相似文献

An experimental study is made of the effect of an in-plane field H p of various orientations on the domain structure and shape of the hysteresis loops of epitaxial iron garnet films with the (210) orientation. The characteristic of the magnetization reversal process (in fields somewhat lower than the anisotropy field) is taken to be the critical fields H p1, H p2, and H p3, for which the magnetization reversal processes is interrupted at distinct stages. A method is proposed for constructing the phase diagram of the magnetic states of films, using measurements of the critical fields H p for different amplitudes of the magnetization reversal field H z . Two directions in the plane of the film are determined with an accuracy of a fraction of a degree from the hysteresis loops, where in the corresponding field Hp the transition from a single-domain state to a multidomain state occurs as a second-order phase transition. The characteristic changes in the shape of the hysteresis loop are consistent with the features in the reorganization of the domain structure of the (210) film. The preferential orientations of the stripe domain structure of the samples are determined relative to the crystal axes as determined by x-ray methods. Zh. Tekh. A theoretical study is made of the trajectories and of the changes in magnitude and direction of the wave vectors of magnetostatic backward surface waves with different frequencies propagating in ferrite-insulator-metal structures with different insulating layer thicknesses and magnetized by a linearly nonuniform static field. It is shown that both forward and backward magnetostatic surface waves (MSSWs) propagate in a waveguide channel, on one side of which MSSWs undergo mirror reflection and on the other side of which their propagation direction is rotated, independently of the thickness of the insulator in the structure. It is shown that when MSSWs propagate in a nonuniform field, the forward wave is converted into a backward wave and, under certain conditions, the backward wave is converted into a forward wave. The dispersion relation of magnetostatic waves tangentially magnetized to saturation ferrite film, with a “magnetic wall” condition (tangential component of microwave magnetic field is equal to zero) on one of the film surface and with a metal condition on the opposite surface is analyzed. The dispersion characteristics show that unidirectional magnetostatic waves appear in this structure: they can transfer energy in one direction only and fundamentally cannot transfer energy in the opposite direction. The dispersion-free propagation of magnetostatic waves also is possible in the structure in a wide frequency interval.  相似文献

The magnetostatic energy and domain structure (DS) in a long ferromagnetic plate of a finite width with in-plane anisotropy are calculated for the case of the domain magnetization vectors lying in the plane of the plate. The situation where the DS period is much shorter than the width but is considerably larger than the thickness of the plate is analyzed in detail. The equilibrium DS period and the width ratio of two adjacent domains are determined as functions of an external magnetic field parallel to the plane of the plate by minimizing the energy. The DS period is found to be proportional to the plate width and the domain wall energy and inversely proportional to the squared saturation magnetization. While the width of the favorable domains (with the magnetization parallel to the field) grows with increasing field, the unfavorable domains, rather than disappearing completely, form relatively narrow transition regions between the favorable domains, i.e., 360° domain walls.  相似文献

The domain walls in ultrathin ferromagnetic films with uniaxial magnetic anisotropy are investigated theoretically. It is shown that taking account of the magnetodipole and magnetoelastic interactions leads to the appearance of an effective anisotropy with respect to the direction of the normal to the plane of the wall. The existence of a new type of domain walls—“corner” walls, at which the magnetization vector is rotated in the plane making a certain angle, which depends on the film parameters, with the plane of the domain wall and the static and dynamic properties of these walls are investigated. 给出了任意倾斜偏置磁场作用下相位失配时微波静磁波与导波光的磁光耦合方程,分析了相位失配对导波光衍射效率及其衍射方向的影响.计算了YIG薄膜波导中静磁反向体波与导波光非共线作用的Bragg衍射效率, 传统磁化时计算结果与实验结果一致.计算表明,与传统磁化情形相比,适当的偏斜磁场可使导波光衍射效率提高6dB以上;当导波光入射角保持不变时,由磁场方向改变引起的相位失配对衍射效率的影响不大.因此,优化偏置磁场方向是改善磁光Bragg器件衍射性能、提高磁光带宽的有效方法. 关键词: 磁光效应 Bragg衍射 静磁波  相似文献

The torque curves of hard magnetic CoNiW films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy are analysed. Using the dependence of the rotational hysteresis energy losses on the field, both in the film plane and perpendicular to it, a conclusion is drawn about the magnetic structure of the films and the mechanism of magnetization reversal consisting of an inhomogeneous rotation of the magnetization vector.  相似文献

The four-magnon instability of magnetostatic surface waves (MSSWs) in yttrium iron garnet epitaxial films is investigated experimentally. It is shown that four-magnon instability for MSSWs with wave numbers 30–600 cm−1 is a decay instability and develops for values of the wave magnetization close to the threshold level for second-order parametric instability of a homogeneous transverse pump wave. When the supercriticality of the MSSW power is 15–20 dB, the generated parametric spin waves themselves become unstable with respect to the four-magnon interaction, so that kinetic instability develops in the film. It is shown that the pump signal transmitted through the signal and the length of the “nonlinear” part of the film, where a MSSW is capable of exciting parametric spin waves, increase as the pump power is increased. The integral characteristics of magnetization switching in amorphous gadolinium-cobalt films with perpendicular anisotropy are studied by visualizing the domain structure and measuring magnetooptic hysteresis loops. The films have a radial gradient of magnetic properties that is due to a spatially nonuniform thermal field. Magnetization switching in those film areas where the domain wall motion depends only on the coercive force is simulated in simple terms. In a first approximation, local events of magnetization switching are shown to take place independently of each other and the net hysteresis loop can be represented as a sum of the local loops.  相似文献

The propagation of surface magnetostatic waves in a ferromagnetic film of variable thickness having a planar periodic structure in the form of a grating of etched parallel strips (one-dimensional magnon crystal) has been investigated. The dispersion characteristics of surface magnetostatic waves have been calculated using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin method. The intrinsic error of the method has been estimated, and the magnon spectrum of the surface magnetostatic wave has been studied. An analysis of the dispersion characteristics and the transmission capacity of these structures has demonstrated that they can be used for designing narrow-band and comb filters.  相似文献

The dispersional properties of a surface magnetostatic wave (MSW) in a laminar structure consisting of ferrite film and a high-temperature superconducting (HTSC) layer are studied in detail. The propagation of surface MSW in this structure is investigated, and the dispersional equation is obtained; the granular character of the HTSC films and the influence of constant magnetic field are taken into account here. The magnetic field is responsible for breakdown of the Josephson layer of granular HTSC films and the appearance of nonsuperconducting layers close to the film surface. It follows from the calculation results that, when the HTSC film passes to the superconducting state, the dispersional characteristics of the MSW undergo a discontinuity. The magnitude of the discontinuity depends on the film thickness, the critical current, and the granule size.
