New six-coordinate ruthenium(III) Schiff-base complexes of general formula [Ru(X)(PPh3)(L)] (where X = Cl/Br and L = mononucleating bibasic tetradentate ligand derived by condensing actetoacetanilide/acetoacetotoludide with o-aminophenol/o-aminothiophenol/o-aminobenzoic acid in 1 : 2 molar ratio in ethanol) have been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. The new ruthenium(III) complexes possess 2NO/2NS metal binding sites and are catalysts for the oxidation of alcohols using molecular oxygen as co-oxidant and in C–C coupling reactions. These complexes possess good biocidal (antibacterial and antifungal) activity.  相似文献

Some new tetradentate ligands with a NNOS coordination sphere were prepared and their corresponding nickel(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis and mass spectrophotometry. The thermodynamic formation constants of the complexes were measured spectrophotometrically, at a constant ionic strength of 0.1 M (NaClO4) at 25 °C in DMF solvent. The trend of the complex formation for nickel is as follows:  相似文献

The VO(IV) complexes of tridentate ONO Schiff ligands were synthesised and characterized by IR, UV–vis and elemental analysis. The electrochemical properties of the vanadyl complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. A good correlation was observed between the oxidation potentials and the electron withdrawing character of the substituents on the Schiff base ligands, showing the following trend: MeO < H < Br < NO2 and H < Cl. The thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermoanalysis (DTA) of the VO(IV) complexes were carried out in the range of 20–700 °C. The VOL1(OH2) decomposed in two steps whereas the remaining six complexes decomposed in three steps. The thermal decomposition of these complexes is closely related to the nature of the Schiff base ligands and proceeds via first order kinetics.  相似文献

Two new reduced Schiff base ligands, [HL1 = 4-{2-[(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-amino]-ethylimino}-pentan-2-one and HL2 = 4-[2-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylamino)-ethylimino]-pentan-2-one] have been prepared by reduction of the corresponding tetradentate unsymmetrical Schiff bases derived from 1:1: 1 condensation of 1,2-ethanediamine, acetylacetone and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde/2-acetyl pyridine. Four complexes, [Ni(L1)]ClO4 (1), [Cu(L1)]ClO4 (2), [Ni(L2)]ClO4 (3), and [Cu(L2)]ClO4 (4) with these two reduced Schiff base ligands have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The mono-negative ligands L1 and L2 are chelated in all four complexes through the four donor atoms to form square planar nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes. Structures of 3 and 4 reveal that enantiomeric pairs are crystallized together with opposite chirality in the nitrogen and carbon atoms. The two CuII complexes (2 and 4) exhibit both irreversible reductive (CuII/CuI; Epc, −1.00 and −1.04 V) and oxidative (CuII/CuIII; Epa, +1.22 and +1.17 V, respectively) responses in cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemically generated CuI species for both the complexes are unstable and undergo disproportionation.  相似文献

Three new mononuclear Schiff-base complexes, namely [Mn(L)Cl] (1), [Ni(L)] (2), and [Cu(L)] (3), where L?=?anion of [N,N′-bis(2-hydroxybenzophenylidene)]propane-1,2-diamine, have been synthesized by reacting equimolar amounts of the respective metal chloride and the tetradentate Schiff base, H2L, in methanol. The complexes have been characterized by microanalytical, spectroscopic, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and other physicochemical studies. Structural studies reveal that 1 adopts a distorted square-pyramidal geometry whereas 2 and 3 are isotypic with distorted square-planar geometries. The antibacterial activities of 13 along with their Schiff base have been tested against some Gram(+) and Gram(?) bacteria.  相似文献

In dendrimer complexes of iron (III) with Schiff base (three complexes of iron (III) based on azomethine 4,4′-dodecyloxybenzoyloxybenzoyl-4-salicylidene-2-aminopyridine, a significant magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and heat capacity was found the first time. It was found that the magnitude of MCE depends on the nature of the counter-ion of the complex. MCE were measured with a microcalorimeter over the temperature range of 278–320 K and in a magnetic induction of 0–1.0 T. The temperature dependences of the MCE dendrimer complexes of iron (III) with Schiff base were obtained for the first time. For all the samples studied, the existence of extreme temperature dependence of MCE in the range of temperatures 300–350 K, which is possibly the result of the magnetic phase transition, is shown. The correlation between the thermotropic mesomorphism with the magnetic phase transition in complexes has been established.  相似文献

Two octahedral complexes [Ni(HL1)2](ClO4)2 (1) and [Ni(HL2)2](ClO4)2 (2) and a square planar complex [Ni(HL3)]ClO4 (3) have been prepared, where [HL1 = 3-(2-amino-ethylimino)-butan-2-one oxime, HL2 = 3-(2-amino-propylimino)butan-2-one oxime] and H2L3 = 3-[2-(3-hydroxy-1-methyl-but-2-enylideneamino)-1-methyl-ethylimino]-butan-2-one oxime. All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, spectral studies and room temperature magnetic moment measurements. The molecular structures of all three compounds were elucidated on the basis of X-ray crystallography; complexes 1 and 2 are seen to be the mer isomers.  相似文献

Summary Some thorium(IV) complexes were synthesized with the tetradentate Schiff base ligands (N2O2 donor set) obtained by the condensation of ethylenediamine with salicylaldehyde (H2salen) or acetylacetone (H2 acacen). In all cases the neutral Schiff bases and not their anions are coordinated to the central thorium(IV) atom. The complexes have the general formula: ThL2Xa (L = H2 salen; X = Cl, Br, 1, NCS and L = lie acacen; X = Cl, 1, NCS, ClO4) or ThLX4 (L = H2 salen; X = NO3, ClO4 and L = H2 acacen; X = Br, NO3). The stoichiometry and coordination number of the complexes was determined on the basis of elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, i.r. spectra and t.g.a./d.t.a. data. The coordination number of the complexes is either 12 or 8 for the bisor monocomplexes respectively.  相似文献

1,2-bis(2′-aminophenoxy)-4-methylbenzene provides a Schiff base by reaction with 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde. The stereochemical rigidity of ortho-aminophenyl diamines causes this latter, as well as the corresponding nitro precursors, be chiral. The chiral conformation of the diamine precursor is maintained in the octahedral zinc(II) and cobalt(II) complexes prepared from the Schiff base. The crystal structures of [ZnL(NO3)(H2O)]NO3 and CoLCl2 complexes exhibit non-planar cis-α configurations with both enantiomers (Δ and Λ). This implies that in the Schiff base ligand the two α-diimine systems shape an octahedral cavity having the same chirality of the precursory diamine.  相似文献

Ruthenium(III) complexes of three tetradentate Schiff bases with N2O2 donors formulated as [RuCl(LL1)(H2O)], [RuCl(LL2)(H2O)] and [RuCl(LL3)(H2O)] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, FTIR, and electronic spectral measurements. The FTIR data showed that the tetradentate Schiff base ligands coordinate to Ru ions through the azomethine nitrogen and enolic oxygen. The antioxidant activities of the complexes were investigated through scavenging activity on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radicals. The DPPH activity for [RuCl(LL2)(H2O)] with IC50 = 0.031 mg mL?1 was higher than the values obtained for the other Ru(III) compounds. The study revealed that the synthesized Ru(III) complexes of the tetradentate Schiff base exhibited strong scavenging activities against DPPH and moderate against ABTS radicals. In addition, the antiproliferative studies of the complexes were also tested against human renal cancer cells (TK10), human melanoma cancer cells (UACC62), and human breast cancer cells (MCF7) using the SRB assay. The results indicated that the Ru(III) complexes showed low anticancer activities against the tested human cancer cell lines.  相似文献

Diorganotin(IV) complexes, [SnR2L] (1)-(4), (R = Me, Ph), of the terdentate Schiff bases N-[(2-pyrroyl)methylidene]-N′-tosylbenzene-1,2-diamine (H2L1) and N-[(2-hydroxyphenyl)metylidene]-N′-tosylbenzene-1,2-diamine (H2L2) have been synthesised. The complexes were obtained by addition of the appropriate ligand to a methanol suspension of the corresponding diorganotin(IV) dichloride in the presence of triethylamine. However, the reaction between the precursor [η5-C5H5Fe(CO)2]2SnCl2 and the Schiff bases in the presence of triethylamine gave (5) and (6), respectively. The crystal structures of the ligands and complexes have been studied by X-ray diffraction. The structure of [SnR2L] complexes shows the tin to be five-coordinate in a distorted square pyramidal environment with the dianionic ligand acting in a terdentate manner. In 5 and 6, the iron atom is in a slightly distorted octahedral environment and is meridionally coordinated by two ligands. Spectroscopic data for the ligands and complexes (IR, 1H, 13C and 119Sn NMR and mass spectra) are discussed and related to the structural information.  相似文献

Three unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligands, H2salipn, H2salipn-Br4 and H2salipn-Cl2, have been synthesized from the typical condensation reactions of treating 1,2-diaminopropane with salicylaldehyde, 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde and 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde, respectively. Treatment of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn or H2salipn-Br4 in the presence of triethylamine in tetrahydrofuran (THF) afforded the corresponding ruthenium(III) complexes [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn)] (1) and [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn-Br4)] (2). Interaction of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn-Cl2 or H2salipn-Br4 under the same conditions led to isolation of ruthenium(II) complexes [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Cl2)] (3) and [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Br4)] (4), respectively, in which one of the imine bonds was nucleophilically attacked by hydride to result in the formation of a mixed imine-amine ligand. The molecular structures of 1?1.5CH2Cl2, 2, 3?0.5CH2Cl2 and 4 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical properties of 14 were also investigated. Their cyclic voltammograms displayed quasi-reversible Ru(IV)/Ru(III) and Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples with Eo ranging from 0.67 to 1.05 V and 0.74 to 0.80 V vs. Ag/AgCl (0.1 M), respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

A series of six new mononuclear Schiff base complexes, 16 of cobalt(III) of the general formula, [CoLX] or its adduct with methanol, is reported. The pentadentate Schiff base ligand (H2L) was obtained by the condensation of N-(3-aminopropyl)-N-methylpropane-1,3-diamine with 1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone (H2L1) or 1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)propan-1-one (H2L2). X stands for the pseudohalides, N3, N(CN)2? , and NCS. The complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of equimolar amounts of cobalt(II) nitrate with H2L1 or H2L2 in the presence of the respective pseudohalide in methanol medium. All the complexes have been characterized by microanalytical, spectroscopic, single crystal XRD (except 3), and other physicochemical studies. Structural studies reveal that the central Co(III) ion in 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 adopts a distorted octahedral geometry with a CoN4O2 chromophore. Weak intermolecular H-bonding and/or π-interactions are operative in these complexes to bind the molecular units. The antimicrobial activity of all the complexes and their constituent Schiff bases has been tested against some common bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

The synthesis of three hexadentate Schiff base ligands has been carried out, which contain two sets of ONO donor atoms. These were reacted with diorganotin(IV) dichloride derivatives (R = Me, nBu, Ph) to prepare seven dinuclear diorganotin(IV) complexes in moderate yields. Aside from IR and NMR (1H, 13C, 119Sn) spectroscopic studies, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis, four tin complexes were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The spectroscopic analyses showed that in solution the tin atoms have five-coordinate environments with a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. Each tin atom is coordinated to the nitrogen atom and forms covalent bonds with two oxygen atoms and two carbon atoms. Due to the presence of a methylene group as bridge between the two ONO chelates, the overall molecular structures can have cis or trans conformation, having either mirror or C2-symmetry. While in solution a fast equilibrium can be supposed, in the solid state different intermediate conformations have been detected. Furthermore, for the dialkyltin derivatives Sn?O intermolecular interactions were found allowing for a dimeric or crinkled polymeric organization, whereas for the diphenyltin derivatives no such interactions were observed.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of several hexa‐coordinated ruthenium(III) Schiff base complexes of the type [RuX(EPh3)(L)] (X = Cl or Br; E = P or As; L = dianion of the tetradentate Schiff base) are reported. IR, EPR, electronic spectra and cyclic voltammetric data of the complexes are discussed. An octahedral geometry has been tentatively proposed for all of these complexes. The new complexes have been subjected to catalytic activity in the reaction of oxidation of alcohols in the presence of N‐methylmorpholine‐N‐oxide. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Two new half‐sandwich Ru (II)(p‐cymene) complexes ( 1 and 2 ) containing dopamine‐based (N, O) Schiff base ligands ( L 1 H and L 2 H ) were synthesized and characterized by FT‐IR, UV–Visible and 1H & 13C NMR spectral techniques, and elemental analyses. The spectroscopic and analytical data revealed monobasic bidentate coordination of the ligands with Ru ion. The molecular structures of L 1 H , L 2 H and 2 were further confirmed by single crystal X‐ray diffraction study. Complexes 1 and 2  have been employed as catalysts in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones using 2‐propanol as a hydrogen source at 85 °C under base‐free condition. Good to the excellent yield of secondary alcohols, gram scale synthesis, and high TON and TOF made this catalytic system interesting.  相似文献

We describe the synthesis and characterization of a new tetradentate Schiff base ligand obtained from 2,3-diaminopyridine and 5-methoxysalicylaldehyde. This ligand (H2L) reacted with nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) acetates to give complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes were characterized using analytical, spectral data (UV–vis, IR, and mass spectroscopy), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The crystal structure of the copper complex was elucidated by X-ray diffraction studies. The electrochemical behavior of these compounds, using CV, revealed that metal centers were distinguished by their intrinsic redox systems, e.g. Ni(II)/Ni(I), Cu(II)/Cu(I), and Zn(II)/Zn(I). Moreover, the electrocatalytic reactions of Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes catalyze the oxidation of methanol and benzylic alcohol.  相似文献

The reactions of the tetradentate amine-phenol type Schiff bases H2sal2en (1,2-ethylenebis(salicylideneimine) and H2sal2mp (1,2-benzylenebis(salicylideneimine)) with trans-[ReOCl3(PPh3)2] or (n-Bu4N)[ReOCl4] in air gave the products (µ-O)[ReO(sal2en)]2 (1) and [ReOCl(sal2mp)] (2), respectively. X-ray and spectroscopic studies have shown that 1 contains the linear O=Re–O–Re=O grouping, with the four donor atoms of sal2en2? coordinating in the square plane cis to the oxo ions. In 2, a cis oxo-chloro arrangement is observed with a phenolic oxygen being coordinated trans to the oxo group. The terminal Re=O bond lengths in 1 and 2 are 1.709(4) and 1.683(3)?Å, respectively.  相似文献

N,N′-bis((2-hydroxyphenyl)(phenyl)methylidene)propane-1,2-diaminato-N,N′,O,O′)-(nitrato-O)-manganese(III) methanol solvate ([Mn(C29H24N2O2)(NO3)CH3OH]) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR, UV–Vis, TG–FTIR, TG/DSC, molar conductivity, magnetic moment measurement and single crystal X-ray analysis. In the structure, the Mn(III) ion adopts a distorted octahedral geometry with two nitrogen and two oxygen atoms from the Schiff base ligand in the equatorial plane, and the nitrate ion and methanol molecule in the axial position. The effects of organic solvents of various polarities on the UV–Vis spectra of the ligand and complex were investigated. The manganese(III) complex is easily dissolved in organic polar aprotic solvents and has moderate solubility in organic polar protic solvents.  相似文献
