Disjoint hypercyclic linear fractional composition operators

We characterize disjoint hypercyclicity and disjoint supercyclicity of finitely many linear fractional composition operators acting on spaces of holomorphic functions on the unit disc, answering a question of Bernal-González. We also study mixing and disjoint mixing behavior of projective limits of endomorphisms of a projective spectrum. In particular, we show that a linear fractional composition operator is mixing on the projective limit of the Sv spaces strictly containing the Dirichlet space if and only if the operator is mixing on the Hardy space.     

Topologically Mixing and Hypercyclicity of Tuples

In this paper,we characterize conditions under which a tuple of bounded linear operators is topologically mixing.Also,we give conditions for a tuple to be hereditarily hypercyclic with respect to a tuple of syndetic sequences.     

Approximations of Set-Valued Functions by Metric Linear Operators

In this paper we introduce new approximation operators for univariate set-valued functions with general compact images in Rⁿ. We adapt linear approximation methods for real-valued functions by replacing linear combinations of numbers with new metric linear combinations of finite sequences of compact sets, thus obtaining "metric analogues" of these operators for set-valued functions. The new metric linear combination extends the binary metric average of Artstein to several sets and admits any real coefficients. Approximation estimates for the metric analogue operators are derived. As examples we study metric Bernstein operators, metric Schoenberg operators, and metric polynomial interpolants.     

Stability of discrete-time positive evolution operators on ordered Banach spaces and applications

In this paper we discuss stability problems for a class of discrete-time evolution operators generated by linear positive operators acting on certain ordered Banach spaces. Our approach is based upon a new representation result that links a positive operator with the adjoint operator of its restriction to a Hilbert subspace formed by sequences of Hilbert–Schmidt operators. This class includes the evolution operators involved in stability and optimal control problems for linear discrete-time stochastic systems. The inclusion is strict because, following the results of Choi, we have proved that there are positive operators on spaces of linear, bounded and self-adjoint operators which have not the representation that characterize the completely positive operators. As applications, we introduce a new concept of weak-detectability for pairs of positive operators, which we use to derive sufficient conditions for the existence of global and stabilizing solutions for a class of generalized discrete-time Riccati equations. Finally, assuming weak-detectability conditions and using the method of Lyapunov equations we derive a new stability criterion for positive evolution operators.     

Boundedness and closedness of linear relations

This paper focuses on boundedness and closedness of linear relations, which include both single-valued and multi-valued linear operators. A new (single-valued) linear operator induced by a linear relation is introduced, and its relationships with other two important induced linear operators are established. Several characterizations for closedness, closability, bundedness, relative boundedness and boundedness from below (above) of linear relations are given in terms of their induced linear operators. In particular, the closed graph theorem for linear relations in Banach spaces is completed, and stability of closedness of linear relations under bounded and relatively bounded perturbations is studied. The results obtained in the present paper generalize the corresponding results for single-valued linear operators to multi-valued linear operators, and some improve or relax certain assumptions of the related existing results.     

Strong type of Steckin inequality for the linear combination of Bernstein operators

In this paper we obtain a new strong type of Steckin inequality for the linear combinations of Bernstein operators, which gives the optimal approximation rate. Moreover, a method to prove lower estimates for linear operators is introduced. As a result the lower estimate for the linear combinations of Bernstein operators is obtained by using the Ditzian–Totik modulus of smoothness.

Distributional chaos for operators with full scrambled sets

In this article we answer in the negative the question of whether hypercyclicity is sufficient for distributional chaos for a continuous linear operator (we even prove that the mixing property does not suffice). Moreover, we show that an extremal situation is possible: There are (hypercyclic and non-hypercyclic) operators such that the whole space consists, except zero, of distributionally irregular vectors.     

On perturbations for oblique projection generalized inverses of closed linear operators in Banach spaces

The main concern of this paper is the perturbation problem for oblique projection generalized inverses of closed linear operators in Banach spaces. We provide a new stability characterization of oblique projection generalized inverses of closed linear operators under T-bounded perturbations, which improves some well known results in the case of the closed linear operators under the bounded perturbation or that the perturbation does not change the null space.     

The iterative combinations of a new sequence of linear positive operators

In the present paper, we study a new sequence of linear positive operators. We obtain a Voronovskaja type asymptotic formula and an estimate on error in terms of higher-order modulus of continuity for the iterative combinations of the new sequence of linear positive operators. Here, we also note that the rates of convergence of these operators for bounded variation functions, for which one-sided limits f(ξ+) and f(ξ−) exist, are not analogous to the results of Gupta [1].     

Norms of composition operators with rational symbol

We compute the norms of composition operators with rational symbols that satisfy certain properties, extending Christopher Hammond's methods on operators with linear fractional symbols. This leads to a host of new examples of composition operators whose norms are calculable.

On Kaufmanʼs theorem

Kaufman?s theorem (Kaufman, 1978 [9]) on representing closed linear operators as quotients of bounded operators is given a new constructive proof, and is extended to operators between two Hilbert spaces. Two different definitions of operator quotients existing in the literature are compared.     

Unconditionally Converging Multilinear Operators

We introduce a notion of unconditionally converging multilinear operator which allows to extend many of the results of the linear case to the multilinear case. We prove several characterizations of these multilinear operators (one of which seems to be new also in the linear case), which allow to considerably simplify the work with this kind of operators.

本文引进Banach空间E的一个全新对偶空间概念—Lipschitz对偶空间,并证明：任何Banach空间的Lipschitz对偶空间是某个包含E的Banach空间的线性对偶空间,以所引进的新对偶空间为框架,本文定义了非线性Lipschitz算子的Lipshitz对偶算子,证明：任何非线性Lipschitz算子的Lipschitz对偶算子是有界线性算子．所获结果为推广线性算子理论到非线性情形（特别,运用线性算子理论研究非线性算子的特性）开辟了一条新的途径．作为例证,我们应用所建立的理论证明了若干新的非线性一致Lipschitz映象遍历收敛性定理.     

On the iterates of positive linear operators

We have devised a new method for the study of the asymptotic behavior of the iterates of positive linear operators. This technique enlarges the class of operators for which the limit of the iterates can be computed.     

Adjoint for operators in Banach spaces

In this paper we show that a result of Gross and Kuelbs, used to study Gaussian measures on Banach spaces, makes it possible to construct an adjoint for operators on separable Banach spaces. This result is used to extend well-known theorems of von Neumann and Lax. We also partially solve an open problem on the existence of a Markushevich basis with unit norm and prove that all closed densely defined linear operators on a separable Banach space can be approximated by bounded operators. This last result extends a theorem of Kaufman for Hilbert spaces and allows us to define a new metric for closed densely defined linear operators on Banach spaces. As an application, we obtain a generalization of the Yosida approximator for semigroups of operators.
