Three types of two bright bound solitons with increasing coherence are investigated in the Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with the exponentially time-dependent interparticle interaction in an expulsive parabolic potential. Two methods are provided with symbolic computation to improve the number of matter density peaks within the given temporal range before the collapse of the solitons under the one-dimensional approximation: (i) enhancing the axial harmonic oscillator frequency; (ii) increasing the initial coherence of the bound solitons. Compression of the three- and four-bright-bound-soliton trains is presented. Estimation of the net binding forces among the bound solitons gives an explanation for the interaction patterns if the coherence of the bound state is limited. Our investigation theoretically reveals the existence of the bright bound solitons in the BECs and analyzes their complex interactions.  相似文献

We present a family of nonautonomous bright and dark soliton solutions of Bose-Einstein condensates with the time-dependent scattering length in an expulsive parabolic potential. These solutions show that the amplitude, width, and velocity of soliton can be manipulated by adjusting the atomic scattering length via Feshbach resonance. For the cases of both attractive and repulsive interactions, the total particle number is a conservation quantity, but the peak (dip) density can be controlled by the Feshbach resonance parameter. Especially, we investigate the modulation instability process in uniform Bose-Einstein condensates with attractive interaction and nonvanishing background, and clarify that the procedure of pattern formation is in fact the superposition of the perturbed dark and bright solitary waves. At last, we give the analytical expressions of nonautonomous dark one- and two-soliton solutions for repulsive interaction, and investigate their properties analytically.  相似文献

The evolution of solitons in Bose--Einstein condensates (BECs) with time-dependent atomic scattering length in an expulsive parabolic potential is studied. Based on the extended hyperbolic function method, we successfully obtain the bright and dark soliton solutions. In addition, some new soliton solutions in this model are found. The results in this paper include some in the literature ({\em Phys. Rev. Lett.} {\bf 94} (2005) 050402 and {\em Chin. Phys. Lett.} {\bf 22} (2005) 1855).  相似文献

We investigate the dynamics of matter-wave solitons in the one-dimensional (1-D)Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation describing Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) withtime-dependent scattering length in varying trapping potentials with feeding/loss term. Byperforming a modified lens-type transformation, we reduce the GP equation into a classicalnonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with distributed coefficients and find its integrablecondition. Under the integrable condition, we apply the generalized Jacobian ellipticfunction method (GJEFM) and present exact analytical solutions which describe thepropagation of a bright and dark solitons in BECs. Their stability is examined usinganalytic method. The obtained exact solutions show that the amplitude of bright and darksolitons depends on the scattering length, while their motion and the total number of BECatoms depend on the external trapping potential. Our results also shown that the loss ofatoms can dominate the aggregation of atoms by the attractive interaction, and thus thepeak density can decrease in time despite that the strength of the attractive interactionis increased.  相似文献

We report the analytical nonantonomous soliton solutions (NSSs) for two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with the presence of a time-dependent potential. These solutions show that the time-dependent potential can affect the velocity of NSS. The velocity shows the characteristic of both increasing and oscillation with time. A detailed analysis for the asymptotic behavior of NSSs demonstrates that the collision of two NSSs of each component is elastic.  相似文献

The exact solitonic solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, which describes the dynamics of bright soliton in Bose—Einstein condensates with the time-dependent interaction in an expulsive parabolic and complex potential, are obtained by Darboux transformation. The results show that one can compress a bright soliton into an assumed peak of matter wave density by adusting the experimental parameter of the ratio of axial oscillation to radial oscillation or feeding parameter. Especially, when parameters satisfy the relation λ=2γ, the soliton is stable with time evolution without changing its shape and amplitude.  相似文献

We study triaxial bright solitons made of attractive Bose-condensed atoms characterized by the absence of confinement in the longitudinal axial direction but trapped by an anisotropic harmonic potential in the transverse plane. By numerically solving the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation we investigate the effect of the transverse trap anisotropy on the critical interaction strength above which there is the collapse of the condensate. The comparison with previous predictions [A. Gammal, L. Tomio, T. Frederico, Phys. Rev. A 66 (2002) 043619] shows significant differences for large anisotropies.  相似文献

Evolution of periodic matter waves in one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates with time-dependent scattering length is described. It is shown that variation of the effective nonlinearity is a powerful tool for controlled generation of bright and dark solitons starting with periodic waves.  相似文献

We investigate a quasi one dimensional spin-1 Bose-Einstein Condensates (BEC) in the absence of an external confinement governed by a system of three coupled Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation. Based on the Lax-pair, we construct one soliton solution employing gauge transformation method. In addition, the multiple bright and dark soliton solutions are obtained by properly choosing amplitude dependent parameter in the Lax-pair. The results of the paper emphasizes the richness in the structure of soliton solutions admitted by the spin components, a phenomenon which has never been brought out to the fore. We have also extended the gauge transformation method to generate two soliton solutions.  相似文献

We have investigated the dynamics of bright solitons in a spin–orbit coupled spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate analytically and numerically. By using the hyperbolic sine function as the trial function to describe a plane wave bright soliton with a single finite momentum, we have derived the motion equations of soliton's spin and center of mass, and obtained its exact analytical solutions. Our results show that the spin–orbit coupling couples the soliton's spin with its center-of-mass motion, the spin oscillations induced by the exchange of atoms between components result in the periodical oscillation of center-of-mass, and the motion of center of mass of soliton can be viewed as a superposition of periodical and linear motions. Our analytical results have also been confirmed by the direct numerical simulations of Gross–Pitaevskii equations.  相似文献

In the dynamics of condensed systems described by a nonconservative non-linear Schrödinger equation, we investigate numerically the role of atomic feeding and inelastic collisions where dipolar relaxation is the dominant process. By analyzing the range of possible values of the nonconservative parameters to have stable (or unstable) solutions, we verify that spatio-temporal chaos patterns, known for attractive two-body systems due to collapsing effects, can also occur in the repulsive case when the term corresponding to the linear atomic feeding dominates the nonconservative contributions.  相似文献

The dynamics of dark solitons in one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates under the nonlinearity and harmonic potential managements is investigated. It is found that at the large particle limit the macroscopic wave function could evolve self-similarly, which provides a time-varying background for the propagation of dark solitons. The approximate dark soliton solution is derived and its center-of-mass motion is predicted analytically.  相似文献

We study dynamical behaviors of the weakly interacting Bose-Einstein condensate in the one-dimensional optical lattice with an overall double-well potential by solving the time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation. It is observed that the double-well potential dominates the dynamics of such a system even if the lattice depth is several times larger than the height of the double-well potential. This result suggests that the condensate flows without resistance in the periodic lattice just like the case of a single particle moving in periodic potentials. Nevertheless, the effective mass of atoms is increased, which can be experimentally verified since it is connected to the Josephson oscillation frequency. Moreover, the periodic lattice enhances the nonlinearity of the double-well condensate, making the condensate more “self-trapped” in the π-mode self-trapping regime.  相似文献

We study the stability of matter-wave bright solitons for a dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate in a harmonic potential which is transversely attractive and longitudinally expulsive. We map the regimes of stability as a function of dipole-dipole interaction strength using sech-based variational ansatz. The critical points for collapse and explosion are presented.  相似文献

We study the magnetic soliton dynamics of spinor Bose-Einstein condensates in an optical lattice which results in an effective Hamiltonian of anisotropic pseudospin chain. An equation of nonlinear Schrödinger type is derived and exact magnetic soliton solutions are obtained analytically by means of Hirota method. Our results show that the critical external field is needed for creating the magnetic soliton in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates. The soliton size, velocity and shape frequency can be controlled in practical experiment by adjusting the magnetic field. Moreover, the elastic collision of two solitons is investigated in detail.  相似文献

We review our recent theoretical advances in the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates with tunable interactions using Feshbach resonance and external potential. A set of analytic and numerical methods for Gross-Pitaevskii equations are developed to study the nonlinear dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates. Analytically, we present the integrable conditions for the Gross-Pitaevskii equations with tunable interactions and external potential, and obtain a family of exact analytical solutions for one- and two-component Bose-Einstein condensates in one and two-dimensional cases. Then we apply these models to investigate the dynamics of solitons and collisions between two solitons. Numerically, the stability of the analytic exact solutions are checked and the phenomena, such as the dynamics and modulation of the ring dark soliton and vector-soliton, soliton conversion via Feshbach resonance, quantized soliton and vortex in quasi-two-dimensional are also investigated. Both the exact and numerical solutions show that the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates can be effectively controlled by the Feshbach resonance and external potential, which offer a good opportunity for manipulation of atomic matter waves and nonlinear excitations in Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

A trapped-atom interferometer was demonstrated using gaseous Bose-Einstein condensates coherently split by deforming an optical single-well potential into a double-well potential. The relative phase between the two condensates was determined from the spatial phase of the matter wave interference pattern formed upon releasing the condensates from the separated potential wells. Coherent phase evolution was observed for condensates held separated by 13 microm for up to 5 ms and was controlled by applying ac Stark shift potentials to either of the two separated condensates.  相似文献

We investigate the coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equation describing the dynamics of two hyperfine states of Bose-Einstein condensates and deduce the integrability condition for the propagation of bright vector solitons. We show how the transient trap and scattering length can be suitably tailored to bring about fascinating collisional dynamics of vector solitons.  相似文献
