Isatin Derivatives Containing Sterically Hindered Phenolic Fragment and Water-Soluble Acyl Hydrazones on Their Basis: Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity

Condensation reactions of isatin derivatives with 3,5-di(tert-butyl)-4-hydroxybenzyl acetate and the Girard’s reagent T has afforded a series of novel water-soluble isatin-3-acyl hydrazones containing a sterically hindered phenolic fragment in position 1 of the heterocycle; antimicrobial activity of the products has been estimated. It has been shown that the isatin derivatives with bromine or methoxy substituent in the benzo fragment as well as the acyl hydrazones containing 5-methyl or 5-ethyl group are the most active against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus.     

Synthesis and Physicochemical Study of Binuclear Copper(II) Chelates Containing an Asymmetric Exchanged Fragment

Series of novel binuclear copper(II) chelate complexes containing an asymmetric exchanged fragment were synthesized for the first time. The ligands were the products of condensation of salicylaldehyde derivatives and 1,3-diaminopropan-2-ol or carbonohydrazide. The compositions and structures of the complexes obtained were proved by elemental analysis, IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopy, and magnetochemistry. The antiferromagnetic exchange parameters 2J were determined in terms of the isotropic-exchange HDVV model. Supramolecular Assembly of Metal Chelates Based on Synthetic Bilayer Membranes

Synthetic bilayer membranes are two-dimensional arrays of am-phiphilic molecules. A large number of bilayer-forming am-phiphiles are designed by combinations of the structural elements (hydrophilic head, hydrophobic tail, connector, rigid segment, etc.). Metal chelate units have been incorporated into bilayer membranes as part of the bilayer component or as guest molecules. In the former example, a positively charged Cu(II)/polyamine complex and a Cu(II)/diketone unit are used as the hydrophilic head and rigid segment, respectively. The anisotropic orientation of these Cu(II) chelates is confirmed on the basis of the anisotropic ESR patterns observed for cast films of aqueous bilayer dispersions. Anionic planar Cu(II) complexes are incorporated noncovalently into cast films of ammonium bilayer membranes. These Cu(II) complexes are placed either horizontally or vertically, depending on the distribution of negative charges within each molecule. Strong antiferromagnetic interaction is observed when Cu(II) chelates are arranged two-dimensionally on bilayer membranes.     

Metal Containing New Inorganic Ring Systems Based on Siloxane and Phosphazane Frameworks

High-field ³¹P NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies have been used to study the ring opening and nucleophilic substitution reactions of the λ³-cyclotriphosphazane [EtNPCl]₃. The synthesis of the ring opened silicophosphonate [RSi(OH){OP(O)(H)(OH)}]₂O (R = (2,6-iPr₂C₆H₃)NSiMe₃) (1) represents the first ever molecular silicophosphonate to be isolated bearing free reactive hydroxyl groups. The structure and conformation of the bulky aryloxide substituted λ³-cyclotriphosphazane derivative [EtNP(OAr)]₃ (Ar = 2,6-iPr₂C₆H₃) (2) has also been investigated. Interaction of 2 with transition metal precursor complexes leads to the isolation of phosphazane metal complexes with different mode of co-ordination of 2. Further, the reaction of Cp Ti(OAr)Cl₂ (Ar = 2,6-(CH₃)₂C₆H₃OH) with O{SiPh₂(OH)}₂ gave the eight-membered trititanosiloxane [Cp Ti(Cl) (O(SiPh₂O)₂SiPh₂O) (3). Siloxane chain expansion effects, presumed to be a consequence of ring strain, have been observed in the product. The presence of reactive Ti-Cl bond in 3 offers opportunities for its reaction chemistry to be explored.

The number of water and organic solvent molecule adducts surrounding several ligands and metal chelates were determined in both the aqueous and organic phases. Data is presented to show that these adducts change in number during an extraction.     

Iodide-Selective PVC Membrane Electrodes Based on Five Transitional Metal Chelates of bis-furfural-semi-o-tolidine

Abstract

Some new PVC membrane electrodes based on Co(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)chelates of bis-furfural-semi-o-tolidine as carriers are described. The electrodes exhibited different selectivity behaviour compared with the electrode using a classical anion exchanger such as tetraalkyl ammonium. The results showed that the Cobalt(II) chelate-based electrodes had a Nernstian response to iodide ion ranging from 1.0 × 10^?1 to 1.0 × 10^?6 mol.L^?1 in a phosphate buffer solution of pH 2.0 with a detection limit of 6.4 × 10^?7 mol.L^?1 and a slope of 57.8 mV/dec at 25deg;C. The response mechanism was also investigated by use of both a.c. impedance and SPQC techniques. The Co(II) chelate-based electrodes were used to determine the iodide content of a drug with satisfactory results.

合成了两种支链含有光致变色的螺吡喃结构的复合高分子材料, 观察了光激发下材料的光致变色动力学过程. 一种高分子材料为丙烯酸甲脂(MMA)和丙烯酸-螺吡喃单体(MMA-Spiropyran)的共聚物, 另一种是丙烯酸-查尔酮单体(MMA-Chalcone)和丙烯酸-螺吡喃单体的共聚物. 利用紫外-可见光谱仪对合成的复合高分子材料的光敏性能进行了考察, 从研究中发现, 材料的光致聚合过程对其光致变色显色体稳定性的影响.     

New Metal Chelates with Sterically Hindered Azo Ligands: Synthesis and Physicochemical Properties

Metal chelates based on 3,5-di-(tert-butyl)-2-hydroxyazobenzene are synthesized and their physicochemical properties were studied. Four alternative structures and isomeric transformations between these structures were suggested on the basis of NMR data, electric dipole and magnetic moments, X-ray diffraction and quantum-chemical data. Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of New Acridone Derivatives Containing an Isoxazoline Fragment

A method was developed for the preparation of N-(4-R-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-5-yl)methylacridones by the reaction of aromatic aldehyde oximes with allyl acridones.
