We show that the Lusternik–Schnirelmann category of a simple, simply connected, compact Lie group G is bounded above by the sum of the relative categories of certain distinguished conjugacy classes in G corresponding to the vertices of the fundamental alcove for the action of the affine Weyl group on the Lie algebra of a maximal torus of G.  相似文献

A Poisson algebra is a Lie algebra endowed with a commutative associative product in such a way that the Lie and associative products are compatible via a Leibniz rule. If we part from a Lie color algebra, instead of a Lie algebra, a graded-commutative associative product and a graded-version Leibniz rule we get a so-called Poisson color algebra (of degree zero). This concept can be extended to any degree, so as to obtain the class of Poisson color algebras of arbitrary degree. This class turns out to be a wide class of algebras containing the ones of Lie color algebras (and so Lie superalgebras and Lie algebras), Poisson algebras, graded Poisson algebras, z-Poisson algebras, Gerstenhaber algebras, and Schouten algebras among other classes of algebras. The present paper is devoted to the study of structure of Poisson color algebras of degree g0, where g0 is some element of the grading group G such that g0 = 0 or 4g0≠0, and with restrictions neither on the dimension nor the base field, by stating a second Wedderburn-type theorem for this class of algebras.  相似文献

We define noncommutative deformations of algebras of regular functions on certain transversal slices to the set of conjugacy classes in an algebraic group G which play the role of Slodowy slices in algebraic group theory. The algebras called q-W algebras are labeled by (conjugacy classes of) elements s of the Weyl group of G. The algebra is a quantization of a Poisson structure defined on the corresponding transversal slice in G with the help of Poisson reduction of a Poisson bracket associated to a Poisson–Lie group G? dual to a quasitriangular Poisson–Lie group. We also define a quantum group counterpart of the category of generalized Gelfand–Graev representations and establish an equivalence between this category and the category of representations of the corresponding q-W algebra. The algebras can be regarded as quantum group counterparts of W-algebras. However, in general they are not deformations of the usual W-algebras.  相似文献

We study the density of closed geodesics property on 2-step nilmanifolds Γ\N, where N is a simply connected 2-step nilpotent Lie group with a left invariant Riemannian metric and Lie algebra ?, and Γ is a lattice in N. We show the density of closedgeodesics property holds for quotients of singular, simply connected, 2-step nilpotent Lie groups N which are constructed using irreducible representations of the compact Lie group SU(2).

Let Uε(g) be the simply connected quantized enveloping algebra at roots of one associated to a finite dimensional complex simple Lie algebra g. The De Concini-Kac-Procesi conjecture on the dimension of the irreducible representations of Uε(g) is proved for the representations corresponding to the spherical conjugacy classes of the simply connected algebraic group G with Lie algebra g. We achieve this result by means of a new characterization of the spherical conjugacy classes of G in terms of elements of the Weyl group.  相似文献

Given a compact Lie group, endowed with a bi-invariant Riemannian metric, its complexification inherits a Kähler structure having twice the kinetic energy of the metric as its potential, and Kähler reduction with reference to the adjoint action yields a stratified Kähler structure on the resulting adjoint quotient. Exploiting classical invariant theory, in particular bisymmetric functions and variants thereof, we explore the singular Poisson-Kähler geometry of this quotient. Among other things we prove that, for various compact groups, the real coordinate ring of the adjoint quotient is generated, as a Poisson algebra, by the real and imaginary parts of the fundamental characters. We also show that singular Kähler quantization of the geodesic flow on the reduced level yields the irreducible algebraic characters of the complexified group.  相似文献

We construct a family of simply connected 2-step nilpotent Lie groups of higher rank such that every geodesic lies in a flat. These are as Riemannian manifolds irreducible and arise from real representations of compact Lie algebras. Moreover we show that groups of Heisenberg type do not even infinitesimally have higher rank. Received: 2 July 2001 / Revised version: 19 October 2001  相似文献

We study geometrical structures on the cotangent bundle T * G of a Lie group G which are left-invariant with respect to the Lie group structure on T * G determined by a left-invariant affine structure ∇ on G. In particular, we investigate the existence of conformally hyper-K?hler metrics and hyper-K?hler with torsion (HKT) structures on the cotangent bundle of hypercomplex 4-dimensional Lie groups. By applying In?nü-Wigner contractions to compact semisimple Lie algebras we obtain non semisimple Lie algebras endowed with invariant HKT structures. We consider the natural Lie algebra structure on the (associative) group algebra of a finite group G, and show that the Lie subalgebras associated to natural involutive antiautomorphisms of this group algebra are reductive ones. We give a decomposition in simple factors of these Lie algebras, in terms of the ordinary representations of G.  相似文献

In this paper we give a characterization of those reductive or solvable connected, not necessarily simply connected, Lie groups which permit a non-degenerate group order. A non-degenerate group ordering on G always defines a pointed generating invariant convex cone W in the Lie algebra of G, but not every such cone arises in this way. The cones that do are called global. To decide whether a given cone is global or not is a difficult problem which for simply connected groups and invariant cones has completely been solved by Gichev. The aim of the paper is to investigate spectral properties of the Lie algebras corresponding to the symmetry groups of certain flags of vector bundles over a compact space. Under natural hypotheses, such Lie algebras are solvable, being in general infinite dimensional. The spectral theory of finite-dimensional solvable Lie algebras of operators is extended to this natural class of infinite-dimensional solvable Lie algebras. The discussion uses the language of continuous fields of -algebras. The flag manifolds in -algebraic framework are naturally involved here, they providing the basic method for obtaining flags of vector bundles. We show that to any Poisson manifold and, more generally, to any triangular Lie bialgebroid in the sense of Mackenzie and Xu, there correspond two differential Gerstenhaber algebras in duality, one of which is canonically equipped with an operator generating the graded Lie algebra bracket, i.e. with the structure of a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra.  相似文献

We consider homogeneous spaces G/K with G a simple compact Lie group, endowed with an arbitrary G-invariant Riemannian metric. We classify those spaces where the action of K on G/K is polar and show that such spaces are locally symmetric. Moreover we give a classification of pairs (G,K) with G compact semisimple such that K has polar linear isotropy representation. For each compact Lie algebra ? and each real representation V of ? we consider a two-step nilpotent Lie group N(?,V), endowed with a natural left-invariant riemannian metric. The homogeneous nilmanifolds so obtained are precisely those which are naturally reductive. We study some geometric aspects of these manifolds, finding many parallels with H-type groups. We also obtain, within the class of manifolds N(?,V), the first examples of non-weakly symmetric, naturally reductive spaces and new examples of non-commutative naturally reductive spaces. A super Lie group is a group whose operations are G mappings in the sense of Rogers. Thus the underlying supermanifold possesses an atlas whose transition functions are G functions. Moreover the images of our charts are open subsets of a graded infinite-dimensional Banach space since our space of supernumbers is a Banach Grassmann algebra with a countably infinite set of generators. In this context, we prove that if h is a closed, split sub-super Lie algebra of the super Lie algebra of a super Lie group G, then h is the super Lie algebra of a sub-super Lie group of G. Additionally, we show that if g is a Banach super Lie algebra satisfying certain natural conditions, then there is a super Lie group G such that the super Lie algebra g is in fact the super Lie algebra of G. We also show that if H is a closed sub-super Lie group of a super Lie group G, then GG/H is a principal fiber bundle. We emphasize that some of these theorems are known when one works in the super-analytic category and also when the space of supernumbers is finitely generated in which case, one can use finite-dimensional techniques. The issues dealt with here are that our supermanifolds are modeled on graded Banach spaces and that all mappings must be morphisms in the G category.  相似文献

We define a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras that generalize the universal enveloping algebra of the algebra sl(2, ℂ) regarded as a Lie algebra. These algebras are a special case of ℤ-graded Lie algebras with a continuous root system, namely, their Cartan subalgebra is the algebra of polynomials in one variable. The continuous limit of these algebras defines new Poisson brackets on algebraic surfaces. In memory of M. V. We call a central Z-extension of a group G weakly universal for an Abelian group A if the correspondence assigning to a homomorphism ZA the corresponding A-extension yields a bijection of extension classes. The main problem discussed in this paper is the existence of central Lie group extensions of a connected Lie group G which is weakly universal for all Abelian Lie groups whose identity components are quotients of vector spaces by discrete subgroups. We call these Abelian groups regular. In the first part of the paper we deal with the corresponding question in the context of topological, Fréchet, and Banach–Lie algebras, and in the second part we turn to the groups. Here we start with a discussion of the weak universality for discrete Abelian groups and then turn to regular Lie groups A. The main results are a Recognition and a Characterization Theorem for weakly universal central extensions.  相似文献

In a previous paper (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris Sér. I 333 (2001) 763–768), the author introduced a notion of compatibility between a Poisson structure and a pseudo-Riemannian metric. In this paper, we introduce a new class of Lie algebras called pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras. The two notions are closely related: we prove that the dual of a Lie algebra endowed with its canonical linear Poisson structure carries a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric if and only if the Lie algebra is a pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra. Moreover, the Lie algebra obtained by linearizing at a point a Poisson manifold with a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric is a pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra. We also give some properties of the symplectic leaves of such manifolds, and we prove that every Poisson manifold with a compatible Riemannian metric is unimodular. Finally, we study Poisson Lie groups endowed with a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric, and we give the classification of all pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras of dimension 2 and 3.  相似文献
