Both linear and nonlinear propagation of electrostatic solitary waves (ESWs) in magnetized electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasmas are analyzed. The electrons and positrons are assumed to be dynamic, whereas positively charged ions are considered stationary. Using the reductive perturbation method, a Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived and exact soliton solutions are presented. It is found that both compressive and rarefactive ESWs can propagate. The conditions of transitions from compressive to rarefactive ESWs are specified. The nature of these electrostatic solitary waves structures which depends on the magnetic field, the obliqueness, the ion-to-electron number density ratio, and the positron-to-electron temperature ratio, are discussed.  相似文献

The basic properties of the nonlinear propagation of the nonplanar(cylindrical and spherical) positronacoustic(PA) shock waves(SHWs) in an unmagnetized electron-positron-ion(e-p-i) plasma containing immobile positive ions, mobile cold positrons, and superthermal(kappa distributed) hot positrons and electrons are investigated both analytically and numerically. The modified Burgers equation(mBE) is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of PA SHWs are significantly modified by the cold positron kinematic viscosity(η),superthermal parameter of electrons(κ_e),superthermal parameter of hot positrons(κ_p),the ratio of the electron temperature to hot positron temperature(σ),the ratio of the electron number density to cold positron number density(μ_e),and the ratio of the hot positron number density to cold positron number density(μ_(ph)).This study could be useful to identify the basic properties of nonlinear electrostatic disturbances in dissipative space and laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

This work investigates the interactions among solitons and their consequences in the production of rogue waves in an unmagnetized plasmas composing non-relativistic as well as relativistic degenerate electrons and positrons, and inertial non-relativistic helium ions. The extended Poincare′–Lighthill–Kuo(PLK) method is employed to derive the two-sided Korteweg–de Vries(Kd V) equations with their corresponding phase shifts. The nonlinear Schr o¨dinger equation(NLSE) is obtained from the modified Kd V(m Kd V) equation, which allows one to study the properties of the rogue waves. It is found that the Fermi temperature and quantum mechanical effects become pronounced due to the quantum diffraction of electrons and positrons in the plasmas. The densities and temperatures of the helium ions, degenerate electrons and positrons, and quantum parameters strongly modify the electrostatic ion acoustic resonances and their corresponding phase shifts due to the interactions among solitons and produce rogue waves in the plasma.  相似文献

Fully nonlinear propagation of ion-acoustic solitary waves in a collisionless dense/quantum electron–positron–ion plasma is investigated. The electrons and positrons are assumed to follow the Thomas–Fermi density distribution and the ions are described by the hydrodynamic equations. An energy balance-like equation involving a Sagdeev-type pseudo-potential is derived. Finite amplitude solutions are obtained numerically and their characteristics are discussed. The small-but finite-amplitude limit is also considered and an exact analytical solution is obtained. The present studies might be helpful to understand the excitation of nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves in a degenerate plasma such as in superdense white dwarfs.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ion-acoustic (IA) shock waves (SHWs) in a nonextensive multi-ion plasma system (consisting of inertial positive light ions as well as negative heavy ions, noninertial nonextensive electrons and positrons) has been studied. The reductive perturbation technique has been employed to derive the Burgers equation. The basic properties (polarity, amplitude, width, etc.) of the IA SHWs are found to be significantly modified by the effects of nonextensivity of electrons and positrons, ion kinematic viscosity, temperature ratio of electrons and positrons, etc. It has been observed that SHWs with positive and negative potential are formed depending on the plasma parameters. The findings of our results obtained from this theoretical investigation may be useful in understanding the characteristics of IA SHWs both in laboratory and space plasmas.  相似文献

Using a reductive perturbation technique (RPT), the Korteweg‐de Vries (KdV) equation for nonlinear electrostatic waves in multi‐ion plasmas is derived with appropriate boundary conditions. Furthermore, compressive and rarefactive cnoidal wave and soliton solutions are discussed. In our model, the multi‐ion plasma consists of light dynamic warm ions, heavy cold ions, and inertialess electrons, which follows the Maxwell‐Boltzmann distribution. It is observed that in such an unmagnetized multi‐ion plasma, two characteristic electrostatic waves i.e., slow ion‐acoustic (SIA) waves and fast ion‐acoustic (FIA) waves, can propagate. The results are discussed by considering two types of multi‐ion plasmas i.e., H+–O+–e plasma and H?–O+–e plasma that exist in space plasmas. It is found that for H+–O+–e plasma, the SIA cnoidal wave and soliton form both positive (compressive) and negative (rarefactive) potential pulses, which depend on the temperature and density of the light and warm ions. However, only electrostatic positive potential structures are obtained for FIA cnoidal wave and soliton in H+–O+–e plasma. In the case of H?–O+–e plasma, the SIA cnoidal wave and soliton form only compressive structures, while the FIA cnoidal wave and soliton compose rarefactive structures. The effects of light ions' density and temperature on nonlinear potential structures are investigated in detail. The parametric results are also demonstrated, which are applicable to space and laboratory multi‐ion plasma situations.  相似文献

The propagation of linear and nonlinear electrostatic waves is investigated in a magnetized anisotropic electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasma with superthermal electrons and positrons. A two-dimensional plasma geometry is assumed. The ions are assumed to be warm and anisotropic due to an external magnetic field. The anisotropic ion pressure is defined using the double adiabatic Chew-Golberger-Low (CGL) theory. In the linear regime, two normal modes are predicted, whose characteristics are investigated parametrically, focusing on the effect of superthermality of electrons and positrons, ion pressure anisotropy, positron concentration and magnetic field strength. A Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) type equation is derived for the electrostatic potential (disturbance) via a reductive perturbation method. The parametric role of superthermality, positron content, ion pressure anisotropy and magnetic field strength on the characteristics of solitary wave structures is investigated. Following Allen and Rowlands [J. Plasma Phys. 53, 63 (1995)], we have shown that the pulse soliton solution of the ZK equation is unstable to oblique perturbations, and have analytically traced the dependence of the instability growth rate on superthermality and ion pressure anisotropy.  相似文献

Head-on collision between two ion acoustic solitary waves in a Thomas-Fermi plasma containing degenerate electrons and positrons is investigated using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The results show that the phase shifts due to the collision are strongly dependent on the positron-to-electron number density ratio, the electron-to-positron Fermi temperature ratio and the ion-to-electron Fermi temperature ratio. The present study might be helpful to understand the excitation of nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves in a degenerate plasma such as in superdense white dwarfs.  相似文献

This work presents theoretical and numerical discussion on the dynamics of ion-acoustic solitary wave for weakly relativistic regime in unmagnetized plasma comprising non-extensive electrons, Boltzmann positrons and relativistic ions. In order to analyse the nonlinear propagation phenomena, the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived using the well-known reductive perturbation method. The integration of the derived equation is carried out using the ansatz method and the generalized Riccati equation mapping method. The influence of plasma parameters on the amplitude and width of the soliton and the electrostatic nonlinear propagation of weakly relativistic ion-acoustic solitary waves are described. The obtained results of the nonlinear low-frequency waves in such plasmas may be helpful to understand various phenomena in astrophysical compact object and space physics.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of positron acoustic periodic(PAP) travelling waves in a magnetoplasma composed of dynamic cold positrons, superthermal kappa distributed hot positrons and electrons, and stationary positive ions is examined. The reductive perturbation technique is employed to derive a nonlinear Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation that governs the essential features of nonlinear PAP travelling waves. Moreover, the bifurcation theory is used to investigate the propagation of nonlinear PAP periodic travelling wave solutions. It is found that kappa distributed hot positrons and electrons provide only the possibility of existence of nonlinear compressive PAP travelling waves. It is observed that the superthermality of hot positrons, the concentrations of superthermal electrons and positrons, the positron cyclotron frequency, the direction cosines of wave vector k along the z-axis,and the concentration of ions play pivotal roles in the nonlinear propagation of PAP travelling waves. The present investigation may be used to understand the formation of PAP structures in the space and laboratory plasmas with superthermal hot positrons and electrons.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ultra-low-frequency dust-acoustic (DA) waves in a strongly coupled cryogenic dusty plasma has been investigated, by using the Boltzmann distributed electrons and ions, as well as modified hydrodynamic equations for strongly coupled charged dust grains. The reductive perturbation technique is used to derive the Burger equation. It is shown that strong correlations among negatively charged dust particles acts like a dissipation, which is responsible for the formation of the DA shock waves. The latter are associated with the negative potential, i.e. with the compression of negatively charged cryogenic dust particle density. It is also found that the effective dust-temperature, which arises from electrostatic interactions among negatively charged dust particles, significantly affects the height of the DA shock structures. New laboratory experiments at cryogenic temperature should be conducted to verify our theoretical prediction.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear ion acoustic waves are studied in unmagnetized electron-ion quantum plasmas. Sagdeev potential approach is employed to describe the nonlinear quantum ion acoustic waves. It is found that density dips structures are formed in the subsonic region in a electron-ion quantum plasma case. The amplitude of the nonlinear structures remains constant and the width is broadened with the increase in the quantization of the system. However, the nonlinear wave amplitude is reduced with the increase in the wave Mach number. The numerical results are also presented.  相似文献

Abstract

The theoretical and numerical studies have been investigated on the nonlinear propagation of electrostatic ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in an un-magnetized Thomas–Fermi plasma system consisting of electron, positrons, and positive ions for both of ultra-relativistic and non-relativistic degenerate electrons. Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) equation is derived from the model equations by using the well-known reductive perturbation method. This equation is solved by employing the generalized Riccati equation mapping method. The hyperbolic functions type solutions to the K-dV equation are only considered for describing the effect of plasma parameters on the propagation of electrostatic IAWs for both of ultra-relativistic and non-relativistic degenerate electrons. The obtained results may be helpful in proper understanding the features of small but finite amplitude localized IAWs in degenerate plasmas and provide the mathematical foundation in plasma physics.  相似文献

The properties of dust ion acoustic waves are investigated in an unmagnetized multicomponent plasma system consisting of ion beam, charged positive and negative ions, electrons obeying nonthermal-Tsallis distribution and stationary negatively charged dust grains by the conventional Sagdeev pseudopotential method, through which the condition for existence of several nonlinear structures is analyzed theoretically. The dispersion relation for electrostatic waves is derived and analyzed and an expression of the energy integral equation is obtained. It is reported here that our plasma model supports solitions, double layers and supersoliton solutions for certain range of parameters. Finally, the effects of different physical plasma parameters on these nonlinear structures are studied numerically. The present theory should be helpful in understanding the salient features of the electrostatic waves in space and in laboratory plasmas where two distinct groups of ions and non-Maxwellian distributed electrons are present.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear ion acoustic waves in the presence of adiabatically heated ions in magnetized electron-positron-ion plasmas are studied. The Sagdeev potential approach is employed to obtain the energy integral equation in such a mulitcomponent plasma using fluid theory. It is found that electron density humps are formed in the subsonic region in magnetized electron-positron-ion plasmas. The amplitude of electron density hump is decreased with the increase of hot ion temperature in electron-positron-ion plasmas. However, the increase in positron concentration and obliqueness of the wave increases the amplitude of nonlinear structure. The increase in positron concentration also reduces the width of the nonlinear structure in a magnetized multicomponent plasma. The numerical solutions in the form of solitary pulses are also presented for different plasma cases. The results may be applicable to astrophysical plasma situations, where magnetized electron-positron-ion plasma with hot ions can exist.  相似文献

It is shown that ions can be accelerated by the space charge electric force arising from the separation of electrons and positrons due to the ponderomotive force of the magnetic field-aligned circularly polarized electromagnetic (CPEM) wave in a magnetized electron–positron–ion plasma. The ion acceleration critically depends on the external magnetic field strength. The result is useful in understanding differential ion acceleration in magnetized electron–positron–ion plasmas, such as those in magnetars and in some laboratory experiments that aim to mimic astrophysical environments.  相似文献

Ion acoustic shock waves (IASW's) are studied in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of electrons, positrons and adiabatically hot positive ions. This is done by deriving the Kortweg-deVries-Burger (KdVB) equation under the small amplitude perturbation expansion method. The dissipation is introduced by taking into account the kinematic viscosity among the plasma constituents. It is found that the strength of ion acoustic shock wave is maximum for spherical, intermediate for cylindrical, and minimum for planar geometry. It is observed that the positron concentration, ratio of ion to electron temperature, and the plasma kinematic viscosity significantly modifies the shock structure. Finally, it is found that the temporal evolution of the non-planar IASW's is quite different by comparison with the planar geometry. The relevance of the present study with regard to the dense astrophysical environments is also pointed out.  相似文献

The propagation of one-dimensional shock-like waves (SLWs) in a dissipative quantum magnetoplasma medium is studied. A quantum magnetohydrodynamic (QMHD) model is used to take into account the effects of quantum force associated with the Bohm potential and the pressure-like spin force for electrons. It is shown that the nonlinear evolution equation [Korteweg-de-Vries-Burger (KdVB)], which describes the dynamics of small but finite amplitude magnetosonic waves (MSWs) (where the dissipation is provided by the plasma resistivity) exhibits both oscillatory and monotonic shock-like perturbations (SLPs) by the effects of collective tunneling and spin alignment. Both the quantum and spin force significantly modify the shock-like structures and the strength of SLPs. The theoretical results could be of important for strongly magnetized astrophysical (e.g., pulsars, magnetars) plasmas.  相似文献
