In this paper, we theoretically investigate the effect of the bias and temperature on the electron transport properties in a magnetic nanostructure. It is found that the large spin-polarization can be achieved in such a nanostructure, and the degree of spin-polarization obviously increases with increasing applied bias. It is also found that the conductance curves for the different temperatures obviously intersect at the same Fermi energy for the low Fermi energy, and the degree of spin-polarization decreases with the increase of temperature. Thus, we can control the electron transport through changing the bias and temperature.  相似文献

We examine the transition between discrete and ultradiscrete (cellular-automaton-like) systems, the dynamics of which exhibit limit cycles. Motivated by results obtained previously for three-dimensional systems, we consider here a more manageable two-dimensional model. We show that one can follow the changes in dynamics of the system when a parameter that tunes the discrete-ultradiscrete transition is varied. In particular we explain the phenomenon of the splitting of a discrete limit cycle to a profusion of periodic orbits at the ultradiscrete limit.  相似文献

The effect of bias voltage on electron tunneling across a junction with a ferroelectric-ferromagnetic composite barrier is investigated theoretically. Because of the inversion symmetry breaking of the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization, bias voltage dependence of the electron tunneling shows significant differences between the positive bias and the negative one. The differences of spin filtering or tunnel magnetoresistance increase with the increasing absolute value of bias voltage. Such direction preferred electron tunneling is found intimately related with the unusual asymmetry of the electrical potential profile in two-phase composite barrier and provides a unique change to realize rectifying functions in spintronics.  相似文献

Anomalous X-ray diffraction was used for the investigation of shape and chemical composition of self-organized PbSe quantum dots covered by PbEuTe capping layers. From reciprocal-space maps of diffracted intensities measured at two energies of the primary radiation, we discriminated the contributions of the dot volumes and the surrounding crystal lattice to the diffracted intensity. We have found that the presence of Eu atoms suppresses the flattening of the dots during their overgrowth.  相似文献

Self-organized magnetic nanoparticles are obtained through selective silicidation of cobalt using a silicon substrate pre-structured with tri-dimensional gold islands as template. On the step bunches array of a vicinal Si(1 1 1) surface, gold deposition results in the formation of nanodroplets aligned along the step bunches. A subsequent cobalt deposition is performed onto this gold islands-covered Si surface, with two silicidation processes investigated: reactive deposition (RD) and solid phase reaction (SPR). The cobalt is converted into a non-magnetic silicide film except where the surface is locally masked by the gold islands, giving rise to cobalt nanomagnets which can be capped by a gold layer. A scanning tunneling microscopy comparative study of RD and SPR processes demonstrates that the former induces strong surface morphology changes while the latter preserves the pristine islands. Magnetic measurements performed with alternating gradient force magnetometry at room temperature are used to demonstrate the presence of ferromagnetic cobalt nanoparticles on SPR-processed samples. These nanomagnets show a clear in-plane anisotropy behavior.  相似文献

We present in this work an investigation of the magnetic behavior of FePt films as a function of film thickness and thermal treatment. The films have been sputter-deposited on oxidized Si (1 0 0) crystals and are ferromagnetic at room temperature. Using ferromagnetic resonance techniques at 9.5 GHz we have studied a series of four films with a thickness in the range . The resonance spectra of these films were measured at and also above room temperature. The high temperature measurements produce irreversible changes in the samples which depend on the maximum temperature reached during the experiment. For relatively low measuring temperatures () the magnetic properties are generally improved, probably due to the release of stress formed during film fabrication. For larger temperatures () the absorption linewidth gradually broadens and the line could be hardly observed at room temperature if the measuring temperature exceeded . This behavior is due to the partial transformation of the metastable FCC phase to the ordered L10 high anisotropy phase. These data are consistent with the results found in samples annealed outside the resonant cavity.  相似文献

In this study, a phase-change memory device was fabricated and the origin of device failure mode was examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) was used as the active phase-change material in the memory device and the active pore size was designed to be 0.5 m. After the programming signals of more than 2×106 cycles were repeatedly applied to the device, the high-resistance memory state (reset) could not be rewritten and the cell resistance was fixed at the low-resistance state (set). Based on TEM and EDS studies, Sb excess and Ge deficiency in the device operating region had a strong effect on device reliability, especially under endurance-demanding conditions. An abnormal segregation and oxidation of Ge also was observed in the region between the device operating and inactive peripheral regions. To guarantee an data endurability of more than 1×1010 cycles of PRAM, it is very important to develop phase-change materials with more stable compositions and to reduce the current required for programming.  相似文献

Analytical results have been obtained in the framework of the generalized mean-field theory for diluted semiconductors with RKKY interaction. That theory accounts for the non-equivalency of different lattice sites by introducing the distribution function of local effective magnetic fields for non-regular (random) systems with magnetic interaction. The procedure is described that permits to deduce the analytical expression for that function. Corresponding improvement of the traditional mean-field theory could be observed by comparing results of such a generalized analytical model with exact results known for some simple cases, with numerical results of different authors considering the disorder of magnetic impurities’ arrangement, and with experimental data, as well.  相似文献

We show that the dependence of the total energy of the atoms on their atomic number can follow a q-exponential (as proposed by C. Tsallis), for practically all elements of the periodic table. Using a master equation for the reduced density matrix of open quantum system, the influence of coordinate-dependent microscopical diffusion coefficients on the decay rate from a potential well is studied. For different temperatures, frictions, heights of barrier and ratios of stiffnesses of the potential in the minimum and on the top of the barrier, the quasistationary decay rates are obtained with the sets of coordinate-dependent and -independent microscopical diffusion coefficients, and coordinate-dependent phenomenological diffusion coefficients.  相似文献

We explore the pattern of frequency-dependent linear and non-linear optical (NLO) response of one electron quantum dots harmonically confined in two dimensions. For some fixed values of transverse magnetic field strength (ωc), and harmonic confinement potential (ω0), the influence of effective mass (m*) of the system and the symmetry breaking anharmonic interaction on the frequency-dependent linear (α), and the first (β), and second (γ) NLO responses of the dot is computed through linear variational route. The investigation reveals interesting roles played by the anharmonic interaction and effective mass in modulating the response properties.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the electron transport properties in a non-magnetic heterostructure with both Dresselhaus and Rashba spin-orbit interactions. The detailed-numerical results show that (1) the large spin polarization can be achieved due to Dresselhaus and Rashba spin-orbit couplings induced splitting of the resonant level, although the magnetic field is zero in such a structure, (2) the Rashba spin-orbit coupling plays a greater role on the spin polarization than the Dresselhaus spin-orbit interaction does, and (3) the transmission probability and the spin polarization both periodically change with the increase of the well width.  相似文献

A method for characterization of sub-nanometer thick Co/V and Co/Mo interfaces is proposed that uses magneto-optical ellipsometry. Both the polar Kerr rotation and ellipticity are fitted simultaneously to different models of interface layer. The magneto-optical data are measured for varying thicknesses of the cobalt layer and overlayer by scanning of a laser beam over the samples with two orthogonal wedges. Decrease of magneto-optical effect at both interfaces Co/V and Co/Mo were observed, which corresponds to interface layers of thicknesses ranging from one to two monoatomic layers. In the case of vanadium, the interface layer is sharper and can be explained either by reduced magnetic moment of cobalt, or by anti-parallel magnetic moment of vanadium near the Co/V interface.  相似文献

We study planar waves in a circulating, draining fluid flow, which: (i) exhibit an analogue of the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect in Quantum Mechanics; (ii) obey a Klein-Gordon equation on an ‘effective spacetime’ which resembles the Kerr spacetime of General Relativity; and (iii) may be observed in the laboratory using gravity waves in a shallow basin. We describe a modified AB effect which depends on two dimensionless parameters, associated with the circulation α and draining β rates; we call this the ‘αβ effect’. We show that the αβ effect is inherently asymmetric even in the low-frequency limit, and that it leads to novel interference patterns which carry the signature of both rotation and absorption.  相似文献

A quantum neutral particle, constrained to move on a conical surface, is used as a toy model to explore bound states due to both a inverse squared distance potential and a δ-function potential, which appear naturally in the model. These pathological potentials are treated with the self-adjoint extension method which yields the correct boundary condition (not necessarily a null wavefunction) at the origin. We show that the usual boundary condition requiring that the wavefunction vanishes at the origin is arbitrary and drastically reduces the number of bound states if used. The situation studied here is closely related to the problem of a dipole moving in conical space.  相似文献

We study the Casimir effect at finite temperature for a massless scalar field in the parallel plates geometry in N spatial dimensions, under various combinations of Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions on the plates. We show that in all these cases the entropy, in the limit where energy equipartitioning applies, is a geometrical factor whose sign determines the sign of the Casimir force.  相似文献

We consider five fractional generalizations of the Markovian α-stable Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process and explore the dependence structure of these stochastic models. Since the variance of α-stable distributed random variables is infinite, we describe the dependence structure of the introduced processes in the language of the function called codifference. We present exact formulas for the asymptotic behavior of codifference and answer the question of long-range dependence property (Joseph effect) for the discussed fractional α-stable models. We show that the fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes can display both Noah and Joseph effect.  相似文献
