A new type of metal coordinated liquid crystalline polymers has been synthesized by complexation of metal ions with β-diketone based side chain liquid crystal polysiloxane (DKLCP). The complexation of copper ions with DKLCP greatly increases the phase transition temperature T_k from crystalline state to liquid crystalline state and T_(cl) from LC to isotropic state and makes the range of phase transition ΔT (ΔT=T_(cl)-T_k) widened. These complexes are soluble in common organic solvents. However, the incorporation of europium ions into DKLCP molecules gives rise to reduction in liquid crystallinity and crosslinking in some cases. The DKLCP coordinated with suitable amount of Eu ions can show good liquid crystallinity and fluorescent property.  相似文献

Side chain liquid crystalline polysiloxanes containing benzyl ether linkingunits were synthesized by the hydrosilylation of poly (methylhydrosiloxane) with a series of4-(4-alkoxybenzyloxy)-4'-allyloxybiphenyl monomers [4-(4-methoxybenzyloxy )-4'-allyloxy-biphenyl(M_1), 4-(4-ethoxybenzyloxy)-4'-allyloxybiphenyl (M_2), 4-(4-propoxybenzyloxy)-4'-allyloxybiphenyl (M_3), 4-(4-butoxybenzyloxy)-4'-allylox(M_4), 4-(4-pentoxy-benzyloxy)-4'-allyloxybiphenyl (M_5), 4-benzyloxy-4'-allyloxybiphenyl (M_6)]. The phasebehavior of monomeric and polymeric liquid crystals was characterized by differential scan-ning calorimetry and optical polarization microscopy where the groups are ranged frommethoxy to pentoxy Both the monomeric and polymeric liquid crystals exhibit 1iquidcrystal behaviors.  相似文献

New thermotropic chloro-bridged dinuclear palladium coordinating imine side chain liquid crystalline polysiloxanes have been synthesized. Their mesomorphic properties have been investigated by DSC, X-ray diffraction and polarizing microscopy. The polymeric complexes show nematicdiscotic (Nd) mesophase. It is found that the temperature range of liquid crystalline state of chloro- bridged polymeric complexes is much wider than that of acetato- bridged ones and imine side chain polysiloxane. This indicates that the disc-like chloro-bridged palladium complexing units play a role as mesogen in mesophase.  相似文献

A new type of palladium chelate of β-diketone-based side chain liquid crystal polysiloxane (Pd-DKLCP) has been synthesized by chelation reaction of palladium dichloride with polymeric ligand, β-diketone polysiloxane (DKLCP), using THF as solvent at R.T.. The Pd-chelation results in greatly increasing the phase transition temperature T_K and the enthalpy change △H_K from crystal to liquid crystal state and making the temperature range of LC state △T(△T=T_(Cl)-T_K) widened. All these chelates Pd-DKLCP's do not show T_(Cl) until decomposition at 205℃. It is noteworthy that the Pd-chelation can exert more positive effect on the mesomorphic behaviour of the polymer ligand than the counterpart Cu-DKLCP does. It is probable due to the bigger size of disc-like mesogen formed from β-diketone and Pd~(+2) ion with 4d orbital.  相似文献

A novel side chain liquid crystalline polymer (SCLCP) combining the polysiloxane as main chain with azo-based mesogen moieties as side chain through a flexible spacer has been synthesized by the hydrosilylation reaction using Cp_2PtCl_2 as catalyst. The phase transition behavior of both side chain monomer (AZO-C_6C_(11))and polymer (P-AZO-C_6C_(11))has been characterized via combination of hot-stage polarized microscope, DSC and X-ray diffraction methods (including temperature-variation and quenching techniques). As normal, the transition process included K→S→N→I. Some pretransition features have been observed.  相似文献

A novel palladium-coordinating Azo-type liquid crystalline polysiloxane (Pd-AZLCP) has been synthesized by chelation reaction of polymeric ligand, Azo-type liquid crystalline polysiloxane(AZLCP), with palladium dichloride and potassium chloride in the presence of tetrahydrofuran (THF) as reaction medium instead of dioxane/water system, which has been used since Cope first reported the synthesis of palladium-azobenzene in 1965 . The mesogenic behaviors examined by DSC, temperature-variable X-ray diffraction and polarizing microscopy indicate that the incorporation of Pd ions into the liquid crystal polymer can play a positive effect on the mesogenic property of the parent polymeric ligand. It is exhibited that the isotropization temperature T_i is increased and the mesophase range ΔT has been widened, too.  相似文献

Two kinds of fishbone-like, β-diketone-based liquid crystalline polysilsesquioxanes(FBDKLCP'S), homopolymeric (H-FBDKLCP) and copolymeric (C-FBDKaLCP) have been first synthesized via the hydrosilylation reaction of a vinyl-terminated β-diketone with the homopolymeric ladderlike polyhydrosilsesquioxane (LPHSQ) and random copolymethylhydrosilsesquioxane (LRPMHSQ) respectively. These new kinds of FBDKLCP with M of 10~4 is thermotroic liquid crystalline polymer and its clearing temperatures T_i's and mesophase range △T's are much higher than those of the corresponding comb-like β-diketone liquid crystalline polysiloxane (DKLCP) by about 200℃. Similar results have been observed with the comparison of the two different structure Cu-coordinating compounds The significant increases in T_((?))'s and △T's of the FBDKLCP and Cu-FBDKLCP are mainly attributed to the great rigidity of the ladderlike polysilsesquioxane backbone.  相似文献

Several novel aromatic liquid crystalline copolyesters with regular sequence structure were prepared by melt Sehotten-Baumann polycondensation via complex monomer. Polarizing microscope with hot stage, thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction were used to investigate the structure and properties of the copolyesters. The effects of structural units, such as flexible spacer, noncolinear meta-linked phenylene unit, crankshaft unit, kink with flexible bridging unit and various substituted benzene rings on melting temperature of aromatic copolyesters were studied and discussed on the basis of crystalline structure of the polymers.  相似文献

A series of main chain liquid crystal aromatic copolyesters with X-shapedand rod-shaped mesogenic units were synthesized via solution condensation polymerizationsof 4, 4'-(α,ω-octanedioyloxy)-dibenzoyl dichlorides with 2,5-bis(p-octanoxy benzoyloxy)-hydroquinone and diphenol. All of the copolyesters showed thermotropic liquid crystallinebehaviors through observations using DSC, polarized microscopy and X-ray diffraction.The melting point (T_m) and the isotropization temperature (T) change regularly withvarying the content of diphenol unit in the copolymers.  相似文献

Poly{2, 5- bis [ (p- methoxyphenyl ) oxycarbonyl] styrene } was successfully syn-thesized. This new polymer has a structure characteristic of mesogen-jacketed liquidcyrstalline polymers (MJLCPs) and does form a liquid crystal phase above its glass tran-sition. It thus became the starting member of a new series of MJLCPs. The synthesis ofthe polymer as well as the liquid crystalline properties of the polymer and its monomerwas discussed. A novel series of main chain liquid crystalline copolyesters with X-shaped two-dimensional mesogenic unit and crown ether cycle of cis-4,4′-bis(4-hydroxyphenylazo) dibenzo-18-crown-6 was prepared via solution condensation polymerization from 4,4′-(α,ω-hexanedioyloxy) dibenzoyl dichloride (M1), 2,5-bis(p-octyloxybenzoyloxy) hydro-quinone (M2) and cis-4,4′-bis(4-hydroxyphenylazo) dibenzo-18-crown-6 (M3). Monomer M1 was synthesized by esterification and substitution of adipoyl chloride with p-hydroxybenzoic acid, monomer M2 was synthesized by esterfication and reduction reaction of 2,5-dihydroxybenzoquinone and p-octanoxybenzoyl chloride and monomer M3 was synthesized by diazotization and coupling reaction of cis-diaminodibenzo-18-crown-6 with phenol. The molecular weights of copolyesters are not high,and the intrinsic viscosity [η] of copolyesters ranges from 0.25-0.35. The monomers' structures were identified by using elemental analysis, IR, UV, 1H-NMR, MS, etc. All the copolyesters are yellowish powders and insoluble in THF and CHCl3 at room temperature except CP9. The properties of copolyesters were investigated by using GPC, [η] , DSC, TG,WAXD and POM. It was found that all the copolyesters entered into liquid crystal phase when they were heated to above their melting temperature (Tm). The typical smectic and nematic phase texture can be observed on POM. Their mesophase transition temperature and thermal stability change regularly with varying the content of cis-4,4′-bis(4-hydroxyphenylazo)dibenzo-18-crown-6 unit in the copolyesters.  相似文献

A series of thermotropic liquid crystalline polyesteramides with differ-ent sequence structure based on dimethylbenzidine (DMBD), bisphenol-A(BPA) and p-terephthalyl chloride (TPC) was synthesized by changing the feeding order of monomers inlow temperature solution polycondensation system. By means of NMR and a computer pro-gram the sequence structure parameters were measured. Polymeric β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) supported by crosslinked poly(acrylamide-co-vinylamine) was synthesized as anartificial analog of hydrolytic enzyme and its catalysis of the hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate (p-NPA) was theninvestigated. The result showed that the polymer-supported β-CD could accelerate the hydrolytic reaction of p-NPA morequickly than β-CD itself and crosslinked poly(acrylamide-co-vinylamine) alone. The acceleration rate of the polymer-supported β-CD was about 10 times as fast as that of free β-CD in 0.01 mol/L phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) containing 32%DMSO at 37±0.1℃ when the molar amount of β-CD units in the polymer was equal to that of free β-CD in the experiments.The enhanced acceleration of thc polymer-supported β-CD should be ascribed to the cooperative contribution of theinclusion effect of β-CD ring and the nucleophilic effect of amino groups on the polymeric support.  相似文献

A new series of liquid crystal polyesters with T-shaped two-dimensional mesogenic units weresynthesized by melt polycondensation of the diacetates of 2-(4'-alkoxy -phenyl)-hydroquinones with 4,4'-alkylenedioxydibenzoic acid. The polymers were characterized by using polarized microscopy, DSC and X-ray diffraction. It was realized that all the polymers have nematic thermotropic liquid crystallinecharacteristics. The melting temperature (T_m) and isotropization temperature (T_i) of the polymers changeregularly with varying lengths of the alkoxy side group and the length of the alkylene group in the main chainin company with an even-odd effect. The mesophase temperature range also varies regularly with the polymerstructure. It is shown that the mesophase range has been widened.  相似文献

Four γ-substituted-propylcyclotetrasiloxanes have been synthesized. Emulsion copolymerizations of these cyclosiloxanes with octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane have been carried out both in cationic and anionic emulsion systems. By way of these reactions, stable emulsions of organosilicon polymers which contain carbonfuctional groups such as γ-hydroxypropyl, γ-acetoxypropyl and γ-chloropropyi have been obtained.The effects of temperature, catalyst and the amount of γ-substituted-propylcyclotetrasiloxanes in emulsion copolymerizations have been studied.  相似文献
