In this paper, the interpolating moving least-squares (IMLS) method is discussed in details. A simpler expression of the approximation function of the IMLS method is obtained. Compared with the moving least-squares (MLS) approximation, the shape function of the IMLS method satisfies the property of Kronecker δ function. Then the meshless method based on the IMLS method can overcome the difficulties of applying the essential boundary conditions. The error estimates of the approximation function and its first and second order derivatives of the IMLS method are presented in n-dimensional space. The theoretical results show that if the weight function is sufficiently smooth and the order of the polynomial basis functions is big enough, the approximation function and its partial derivatives are convergent to the exact values in terms of the maximum radius of the domains of influence of nodes. Then the interpolating element-free Galerkin (IEFG) method based on the IMLS method is presented for potential problems. The advantage of the IEFG method is that the essential boundary conditions can be applied directly and easily. For the purpose of demonstration, some selected numerical examples are given to prove the theories in this paper. 相似文献

In this article, we show that Koetter's algorithm for decoding one-point codes can compute error evaluator polynomials as well. We also show that the error evaluators do not need to be computed. The updating functions used in Koetter's algorithm can be used to compute error values instead. 相似文献

In this article, we consider an application of the abstract error estimate for a class of optimal control systems described by a linear partial differential equation (as stated in Numer. Funct. Anal. Optim. 2009; 30:523–547). The control is applied at the boundary and we consider both, Neumann and Dirichlet optimal control problems. Finite element methods are proposed to approximate the optimal control considering an approximation of the variational inequality resulting from the optimality conditions; this approach is known as classical one. We obtain optimal order error estimates for the control variable and numerical examples, taken from the literature, are included to illustrate the results. 相似文献

Lett. 63 (1997) 171-175] the authors study the asymptotic worst case ratio between the height of the strip needed to on-line pack a list of boxes by means of the Harmonic Shelf Algorithm and the height of the strip used by an optimal algorithm. We consider the problem of finding the coefficients of the first derivatives in a second-order hyperbolic equation. The additional information is the trace of a solution and its normal derivative on the lateral surface of the cylindrical domain of some direct problem for the original equation. The impulse point source lies outside the domain in which the sought coefficients are determined and is a parameter of the problem. We suppose that the number of sources for which the trace of a solution is given coincides with the number of the coefficients to be determined. The main result of this article is a stability estimate for a solution to the inverse problem under consideration. 相似文献

Shape gradient flows are widely used in numerical shape optimization algorithms. We investigate the accuracy and effectiveness of approximate shape gradients flows for shape optimization of elliptic problems. We present convergence analysis with a priori error estimates for finite element approximations of shape gradient flows associated with a distributed or boundary expression of Eulerian derivative. Numerical examples are presented to verify theory and show that using the volume expression is effective for shape optimization with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions. 相似文献
