We observe that, given a poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ and a finite covering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}} = {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} \cup \cdots \cup {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} $ of its ordering, the height of the poset does not exceed the natural product of the heights of the corresponding sub-relations: $$\mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)} \leqslant \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} } \right)} \otimes \cdots \otimes \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}.$$ Conversely for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, every poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at most $\xi_1\otimes\cdots\otimes\xi_n$ admits a partition ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ such that each ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at most $\xi_k$ . In particular for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, the ordinal $$\xi _{1} \underline{ \otimes } \cdots \underline{ \otimes } \xi _{n} : = \sup {\left\{ {{\left( {\xi ^{\prime }_{1} \otimes \cdots \otimes \xi ^{\prime }_{n} } \right)} + 1:\xi ^{\prime }_{1} < \xi _{1} , \cdots ,\xi ^{\prime }_{n} < \xi _{n} } \right\}}$$ is the least $\xi$ for which the following partition relation holds $$\mathfrak{H}_{\xi } \to {\left( {\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{1} }} , \cdots ,\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{n} }} } \right)}^{2} $$ meaning: for every poset ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at least $\xi$ and every finite covering ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ , there is a $k$ for which the relation ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at least $\xi_k$ . The proof will rely on analogue properties of vertex coverings w.r.t. the natural sum.  相似文献

In this paper we study integral operators of the form $$T\,f\left( x \right) = \int {k_1 \left( {x - a_1 y} \right)k_2 \left( {x - a_2 y} \right)...k_m \left( {x - a_m y} \right)f\left( y \right)dy} ,$$ $$k_i \left( y \right) = \sum\limits_{j \in Z} {2^{\frac{{jn}}{{q_i }}} } \varphi _{i,j} \left( {2^j y} \right),\,1 \leqq q_i < \infty ,\frac{1}{{q_1 }} + \frac{1}{{q_2 }} + ... + \frac{1}{{q_m }} = 1 - r,$$ $0 \leqq r < 1$ , and $\varphi _{i,j}$ satisfying suitable regularity conditions. We obtain the boundedness of $T:L^p \left( {R^n } \right) \to T:L^q \left( {R^n } \right)$ for $1 < p < \frac{1}{r}$ and $\frac{1}{q} = \frac{1}{p} - r$ .  相似文献

The present paper proposes a general theory for $\left( \mathcal{Z}_{1}, \mathcal{Z}_{2}\right) $ -complete partially ordered sets (alias $\mathcal{Z} _{1}$ -join complete and $\mathcal{Z}_{2}$ -meet complete partially ordered sets) and their Stone-like representations. It is shown that for suitably chosen subset selections $\mathcal{Z}_{i}$ (i?=?1,...,4) and $\mathcal{Q} =\left( \mathcal{Z}_{1},\mathcal{Z}_{2},\mathcal{Z}_{3},\mathcal{Z} _{4}\right) $ , the category $\mathcal{Q}$ P of $\left( \mathcal{Z}_{1},\mathcal{Z}_{2}\right) $ -complete partially ordered sets and $\left( \mathcal{Z}_{3},\mathcal{Z}_{4}\right) $ -continuous (alias $\mathcal{ Z}_{3}$ -join preserving and $\mathcal{Z}_{4}$ -meet preserving) functions forms a useful categorical framework for various order-theoretical constructs, and has a close connection with the category $\mathcal{Q}$ S of $\mathcal{Q}$ -spaces which are generalizations of topological spaces involving subset selections. In particular, this connection turns into a dual equivalence between the full subcategory $ \mathcal{Q}$ P s of $\mathcal{Q}$ P of all $\mathcal{Q}$ -spatial objects and the full subcategory $\mathcal{Q}$ S s of $\mathcal{Q}$ S of all $\mathcal{Q}$ -sober objects. Here $\mathcal{Q}$ -spatiality and $\mathcal{Q}$ -sobriety extend usual notions of spatiality of locales and sobriety of topological spaces to the present approach, and their relations to $\mathcal{Z}$ -compact generation and $\mathcal{Z}$ -sobriety have also been pointed out in this paper.  相似文献

We examine the fourth order problem $\Delta ^2 u = \lambda f(u) $ in $ \Omega $ with $ \Delta u = u =0 $ on $ {\partial \Omega }$ , where $ \lambda > 0$ is a parameter, $ \Omega $ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R }^N$ and where $f$ is one of the following nonlinearities: $ f(u)=e^u$ , $ f(u)=(1+u)^p $ or $ f(u)= \frac{1}{(1-u)^p}$ where $ p>1$ . We show the extremal solution is smooth, provided $$\begin{aligned} N < 2 + 4 \sqrt{2} + 4 \sqrt{ 2 - \sqrt{2}} \approx 10.718 \text{ when} f(u)=e^u, \end{aligned}$$ and $$\begin{aligned} N < \frac{4p}{p-1} + \frac{4(p+1)}{p-1} \left( \sqrt{ \frac{2p}{p+1}} + \sqrt{ \frac{2p}{p+1} - \sqrt{ \frac{2p}{p+1}}} - \frac{1}{2} \right) \end{aligned}$$ when $ f(u)=(u+1)^p$ . New results are also obtained in the case where $ f(u)=(1-u)^{-p}$ . These are substantial improvements to various results on critical dimensions obtained recently by various authors. To do that, we derive a new stability inequality satisfied by minimal solutions of the above equation, which is more amenable to estimates as it allows a method of proof reminiscent of the second order case.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{R }$ be a prime ring of characteristic different from $2, \mathcal{Q }_r$ the right Martindale quotient ring of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{C }$ the extended centroid of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{I }$ a nonzero left ideal of $\mathcal{R }, F$ a nonzero generalized skew derivation of $\mathcal{R }$ with associated automorphism $\alpha $ , and $n,k \ge 1$ be fixed integers. If $[F(r^n),r^n]_k=0$ for all $r \in \mathcal{I }$ , then there exists $\lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $F(x)=\lambda x$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{I }$ . More precisely one of the following holds: (1) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -inner automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $b,c \in \mathcal{Q }_r$ and $q$ invertible element of $\mathcal{Q }_r$ , such that $F(x)=bx-qxq^{-1}c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ . Moreover there exists $\gamma \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $\mathcal{I }(q^{-1}c-\gamma )=(0)$ and $b-\gamma q \in \mathcal{C }$ ; (2) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -outer automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $c \in \mathcal{Q }_r, \lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ , such that $F(x)=\lambda x-\alpha (x)c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ , with $\alpha (\mathcal{I })c=0$ .  相似文献

Let ${\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{N}}$ be a Lipschitz domain and Γ be a relatively open and non-empty subset of its boundary ${\partial\Omega}$ . We show that the solution to the linear first-order system $$\nabla \zeta = G\zeta, \, \, \zeta|_\Gamma = 0 \quad \quad \quad (1)$$ is unique if ${G \in \textsf{L}^{1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{(N \times N) \times N})}$ and ${\zeta \in \textsf{W}^{1,1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{N})}$ . As a consequence, we prove $$||| \cdot ||| : \textsf{C}_{o}^{\infty}(\Omega, \Gamma; \mathbb{R}^{3}) \rightarrow [0, \infty), \, \, u \mapsto \parallel {\rm sym}(\nabla uP^{-1})\parallel_{\textsf{L}^{2}(\Omega)}$$ to be a norm for ${P \in \textsf{L}^{\infty}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ with Curl ${P \in \textsf{L}^{p}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ , Curl ${P^{-1} \in \textsf{L}^{q}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ for some p, q > 1 with 1/p + 1/q = 1 as well as det ${P \geq c^+ > 0}$ . We also give a new and different proof for the so-called ‘infinitesimal rigid displacement lemma’ in curvilinear coordinates: Let ${\Phi \in \textsf{H}^{1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3})}$ satisfy sym ${(\nabla\Phi^\top\nabla\Psi) = 0}$ for some ${\Psi \in \textsf{W}^{1,\infty}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3}) \cap \textsf{H}^{2}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3})}$ with det ${\nabla\Psi \geq c^+ > 0}$ . Then, there exist a constant translation vector ${a \in \mathbb{R}^{3}}$ and a constant skew-symmetric matrix ${A \in \mathfrak{so}(3)}$ , such that ${\Phi = A\Psi + a}$ .  相似文献

We study the structure of a metric n-Lie algebra G over the complex field C. Let G = SR be the Levi decomposition, where R is the radical of G and S is a strong semisimple subalgebra of G. Denote by m(G) the number of all minimal ideals of an indecomposable metric n-Lie algebra and R ⊥ the orthogonal complement of R. We obtain the following results. As S-modules, R ⊥ is isomorphic to the dual module of G/R. The dimension of the vector space spanned by all nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms on G is equal to that of the vector space of certain linear transformations on G; this dimension is greater than or equal to m(G) + 1. The centralizer of R in G is equal to the sum of all minimal ideals; it is the direct sum of R ⊥ and the center of G. Finally, G has no strong semisimple ideals if and only if R⊥■R.  相似文献

We study cohomological induction for a pair $ {\left( {\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{k}} \right)} $ , $ \mathfrak{g} $ being an infinitedimensional locally reductive Lie algebra and $ \mathfrak{k} \subset \mathfrak{g} $ being of the form $ \mathfrak{k}_{0} \subset C_{\mathfrak{g}} {\left( {\mathfrak{k}_{0} } \right)} $ , where $ \mathfrak{k}_{0} \subset \mathfrak{g} $ is a finite-dimensional reductive in $ \mathfrak{g} $ subalgebra and $ C_{\mathfrak{g}} {\left( {\mathfrak{k}_{0} } \right)} $ is the centralizer of $ \mathfrak{k}_{0} $ in $ \mathfrak{g} $ . We prove a general nonvanishing and $ \mathfrak{k} $ -finiteness theorem for the output. This yields, in particular, simple $ {\left( {\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{k}} \right)} $ -modules of finite type over k which are analogs of the fundamental series of generalized Harish-Chandra modules constructed in [PZ1] and [PZ2]. We study explicit versions of the construction when $ \mathfrak{g} $ is a root-reductive or diagonal locally simple Lie algebra.  相似文献

For three coadjoint orbits \(\mathcal {O}_1, \mathcal {O}_2\) and \(\mathcal {O}_3\) in \(\mathfrak {g}^*\) , the Corwin–Greenleaf function \(n(\mathcal {O}_1 \times \mathcal {O}_2, \mathcal {O}_3)\) is given by the number of \(G\) -orbits in \(\{(\lambda , \mu ) \in \mathcal {O}_1 \times \mathcal {O}_2 \, : \, \lambda + \mu \in \mathcal {O}_3 \}\) under the diagonal action. In the case where \(G\) is a simple Lie group of Hermitian type, we give an explicit formula of \(n(\mathcal {O}_1 \times \mathcal {O}_2, \mathcal {O}_3)\) for coadjoint orbits \(\mathcal {O}_1\) and \(\mathcal {O}_2\) that meet \(\left( [\mathfrak {k}, \mathfrak {k}] + \mathfrak {p}\right) ^{\perp }\) , and show that the formula is regarded as the ‘classical limit’ of a special case of Kobayashi’s multiplicity-free theorem (Progr. Math. 2007) in the branching law to symmetric pairs.  相似文献

Let $\{\varphi _n(z)\}_{n\ge 0}$ be a sequence of inner functions satisfying that $\zeta _n(z):=\varphi _n(z)/\varphi _{n+1}(z)\in H^\infty (z)$ for every $n\ge 0$ and $\{\varphi _n(z)\}_{n\ge 0}$ has no nonconstant common inner divisors. Associated with it, we have a Rudin type invariant subspace $\mathcal{M }$ of $H^2(\mathbb{D }^2)$ . The ranks of $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ for $\mathcal{F }_z$ and $\mathcal{F }^*_z$ respectively are determined, where $\mathcal{F }_z$ is the fringe operator on $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ . Let $\mathcal{N }= H^2(\mathbb{D }^2)\ominus \mathcal{M }$ . It is also proved that the rank of $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ for $\mathcal{F }^*_z$ equals to the rank of $\mathcal{N }$ for $T^*_z$ and $T^*_w$ .  相似文献

Let ${{\mathbb H}_n, n \geq 1}$ , be the near 2n-gon defined on the 1-factors of the complete graph on 2n?+?2 vertices, and let e denote the absolutely universal embedding of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ into PG(W), where W is a ${\frac{1}{n+2} \left(\begin{array}{c}2n+2 \\ n+1\end{array}\right)}$ -dimensional vector space over the field ${{\mathbb F}_2}$ with two elements. For every point z of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ and every ${i \in {\mathbb N}}$ , let Δ i (z) denote the set of points of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ at distance i from z. We show that for every pair {x, y} of mutually opposite points of ${{\mathbb H}_n, W}$ can be written as a direct sum ${W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n}$ such that the following four properties hold for every ${i \in \{0,\ldots,n \}}$ : (1) ${\langle e(\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)) \rangle = {\rm PG}(W_i)}$ ; (2) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(x) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_i)}$ ; (3) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(y) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_{n-i}\oplus W_{n-i+1} \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n)}$ ; (4) ${\dim(W_i) = |\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)| = \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i\end{array}\right)^2 - \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i-1\end{array}\right) \cdot \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i+1\end{array}\right)}$ .  相似文献

We introduce an irrational factor of order k defined by \({I_{k}(n) ={\prod_{i=1}^{l}} p_{i}^{\beta_{i}}}\) , where \({n = \prod_{i=1}^{l} p_{i}^{\alpha_{i}}}\) is the factorization of n and \({\beta_{i} = \left\{\begin{array}{ll}\alpha_i, \quad \quad {\rm if} \quad \alpha_i < k \\ \frac{1}{\alpha_i},\quad \quad {\rm if} \quad \alpha_i \geqq k \end{array}\right.}\) . It turns out that the function \({\frac{I_{k} (n)}{n}}\) well approximates the characteristic function of k-free integers. We also derive asymptotic formulas for \({\prod_{v=1}^{n} I_{k}(v)^{\frac{1}{n}}, \sum_{n \leqq x} I_{k}(n)}\) and \({\sum_{n \leqq x} (1 - \frac{n}{x}) I_{k}(n)}\) .  相似文献

Let $(Q(k):k\ge 0)$ be an $M/M/1$ queue with traffic intensity $\rho \in (0,1).$ Consider the quantity $$\begin{aligned} S_{n}(p)=\frac{1}{n}\sum _{j=1}^{n}Q\left( j\right) ^{p} \end{aligned}$$ for any $p>0.$ The ergodic theorem yields that $S_{n}(p) \rightarrow \mu (p) :=E[Q(\infty )^{p}]$ , where $Q(\infty )$ is geometrically distributed with mean $\rho /(1-\rho ).$ It is known that one can explicitly characterize $I(\varepsilon )>0$ such that $$\begin{aligned} \lim \limits _{n\rightarrow \infty }\frac{1}{n}\log P\big (S_{n}(p)<\mu \left( p\right) -\varepsilon \big ) =-I\left( \varepsilon \right) ,\quad \varepsilon >0. \end{aligned}$$ In this paper, we show that the approximation of the right tail asymptotics requires a different logarithm scaling, giving $$\begin{aligned} \lim \limits _{n\rightarrow \infty }\frac{1}{n^{1/(1+p)}}\log P\big (S_{n} (p)>\mu \big (p\big )+\varepsilon \big )=-C\big (p\big ) \varepsilon ^{1/(1+p)}, \end{aligned}$$ where $C(p)>0$ is obtained as the solution of a variational problem. We discuss why this phenomenon—Weibullian right tail asymptotics rather than exponential asymptotics—can be expected to occur in more general queueing systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we mainly consider the Hilbert boundary value problem (BVP) for h-regular functions in ${\mathbb{R}_{+}^{n+1}}$ .  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem of the variation (if any) of the sets of convergence and divergence everywhere or almost everywhere of a multiple Fourier series (integral) of a function $f \in L_p $ , $p \geqslant 1$ , $f(x) = 0$ , on a set of positive measure $\mathfrak{A} \subset \mathbb{T}^N = [ - \pi ,\pi )^N $ , $N \geqslant 2$ , depending on the rotation of the coordinate system, i.e., depending on the element $\tau \in \mathcal{F}$ , where $\mathcal{F}$ is the rotation group about the origin in $\mathbb{R}^N $ . This problem has been reduced to the study of the change in the geometry of the sets $\tau ^{ - 1} (\mathfrak{A}) \cap \mathbb{T}^N $ (where $\tau ^{ - 1} \in \mathcal{F}$ satisfies $\tau ^{ - 1} \cdot \tau = 1$ ) and $\mathbb{T}^N \backslash {\text{supp}}(f \circ \tau )$ depending on the “rotation,” i.e., on $\tau \in \mathcal{F}$ . In the present paper, we consider two settings of this problem (depending on the sense in which the Fourier series of the function $f \circ \tau $ is understood) and give (for both cases) possible solutions of the problem in the class $L_1 (\mathbb{T}^N )$ , $N \geqslant 2$ .  相似文献

Let C[-1,1] be the Banach space of continuous complex functions $f$ on the interval [-1,1] equipped with the standard maximum norm $\left\| f \right\|$ ; let $\omega \left( \cdot \right) = \omega \left( { \cdot ,f} \right)$ be the modulus of continuity of $f$ ; and let $R_n = R_n \left( f \right)$ be the best uniform approximation of $f$ by rational functions (r.f.) whose degrees do not exceed $n = 1, 2, \ldots $ . The space C[-1,1] is also regarded as a pre-Hilbert space with respect to the inner product given by $\left( {f,g} \right) = \left( {1/\pi } \right)\int_{ - 1}^1 {f\left( x \right)g\left( x \right)} \left( {1 - x^2 } \right)^{ - 1/2} dx$ . Let $z_n = \{ z_1 , z_2 , \ldots z_n \} $ be a set of points located outside the interval [-1,1]. By $F\left( { \cdot ,f,z_n } \right)$ we denote an orthoprojection operator acting from the pre-Hilbert space C[-1,1] onto its ( ${n + 1}$ )-dimensional subspace consisting of rational functions whose poles (with multiplicity taken into account) can only be points of the set $z_n $ . In this paper, we show that if $f$ is not a rational function of degree $ \leqslant n$ , then we can find a set of points $z_n = z_n \left( f \right)$ such that $\left\| {f\left( \cdot \right) - F\left( { \cdot ,f,z_n } \right)} \right\| \leqslant 12R_n ln\frac{3}{{\omega ^{ - 1} \left( {R_n /3} \right)}}.$   相似文献

We propose a first-order augmented Lagrangian algorithm (FALC) to solve the composite norm minimization problem $$\begin{aligned} \begin{array}{ll} \min \limits _{X\in \mathbb{R }^{m\times n}}&\mu _1\Vert \sigma (\mathcal{F }(X)-G)\Vert _\alpha +\mu _2\Vert \mathcal{C }(X)-d\Vert _\beta ,\\ \text{ subject} \text{ to}&\mathcal{A }(X)-b\in \mathcal{Q }, \end{array} \end{aligned}$$ where $\sigma (X)$ denotes the vector of singular values of $X \in \mathbb{R }^{m\times n}$ , the matrix norm $\Vert \sigma (X)\Vert _{\alpha }$ denotes either the Frobenius, the nuclear, or the $\ell _2$ -operator norm of $X$ , the vector norm $\Vert .\Vert _{\beta }$ denotes either the $\ell _1$ -norm, $\ell _2$ -norm or the $\ell _{\infty }$ -norm; $\mathcal{Q }$ is a closed convex set and $\mathcal{A }(.)$ , $\mathcal{C }(.)$ , $\mathcal{F }(.)$ are linear operators from $\mathbb{R }^{m\times n}$ to vector spaces of appropriate dimensions. Basis pursuit, matrix completion, robust principal component pursuit (PCP), and stable PCP problems are all special cases of the composite norm minimization problem. Thus, FALC is able to solve all these problems in a unified manner. We show that any limit point of FALC iterate sequence is an optimal solution of the composite norm minimization problem. We also show that for all $\epsilon >0$ , the FALC iterates are $\epsilon $ -feasible and $\epsilon $ -optimal after $\mathcal{O }(\log (\epsilon ^{-1}))$ iterations, which require $\mathcal{O }(\epsilon ^{-1})$ constrained shrinkage operations and Euclidean projection onto the set $\mathcal{Q }$ . Surprisingly, on the problem sets we tested, FALC required only $\mathcal{O }(\log (\epsilon ^{-1}))$ constrained shrinkage, instead of the $\mathcal{O }(\epsilon ^{-1})$ worst case bound, to compute an $\epsilon $ -feasible and $\epsilon $ -optimal solution. To best of our knowledge, FALC is the first algorithm with a known complexity bound that solves the stable PCP problem.  相似文献
