Let R be a ring. A map ${F : R \rightarrow R}$ F : R → R is called a multiplicative (generalized)-derivation if F(xy) = F(x)yxg(y) is fulfilled for all ${x, y \in R}$ x , y ∈ R where ${g : R \rightarrow R}$ g : R → R is any map (not necessarily derivation). The main objective of the present paper is to study the following situations: (i) ${F(xy) \pm xy \in Z}$ F ( xy ) ± xy ∈ Z , (ii) ${F(xy) \pm yx \in Z}$ F ( xy ) ± yx ∈ Z , (iii) ${F(x)F(y) \pm xy \in Z}$ F ( x ) F ( y ) ± xy ∈ Z and (iv) ${F(x)F(y) \pm yx \in Z}$ F ( x ) F ( y ) ± yx ∈ Z for all x, y in some appropriate subset of R. Moreover, some examples are also given.  相似文献

A group G is called 3-abelian if the map ${x \mapsto x^{3}}$ is an endomorphism of G and it is called generalized 3-abelian, if there exist elements ${c_{1}, c_{2}, c_{3} \in G}$ such that the map ${\varphi : x \longmapsto {x^{c_{1}} x^{c_{2}} x^{c_{3}}}}$ is an endomorphism of G. Abdollahi, Daoud and Endimioni have proved that a generalized 3-abelian group G is nilpotent of class at most 10. Here, we improve the bound to 3 and we show that the exponent of its derived subgoup is finite and divides 9. We also prove that G is 3-Levi, 9-central, 9-abelian and 3-nilpotent of class at most 2.  相似文献

Let f be a completely multiplicative function that assumes values inside the unit disc. We show that if ${\sum_{n \leq x}f(n)\ll x/(\rm log x)^A}$ ∑ n ≤ x f ( n ) ? x / ( l o g x ) A , ${x \geq 2}$ x ≥ 2 , for some A > 2, then either f(p) is small on average or f pretends to be ${\mu(n)n^{it}}$ μ ( n ) n i t for some t.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring with center Z(R). For a fixed positive integer n, a permuting n-additive map ${\Delta : R^n \to R}$ is known to be permuting n-derivation if ${\Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_i x'_{i},\ldots, x_n) = \Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_i, \ldots, x_n)x'_i + x_i \Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x'_i, \ldots, x_n)}$ holds for all ${x_i, x'_i \in R}$ . A mapping ${\delta : R \to R}$ defined by δ(x) = Δ(x, x, . . . ,x) for all ${x \in R}$ is said to be the trace of Δ. In the present paper, we have proved that a ring R is commutative if there exists a permuting n-additive map ${\Delta : R^n \to R}$ such that ${xy + \delta(xy) = yx + \delta(yx), xy- \delta(xy) = yx - \delta(yx), xy - yx = \delta(x) \pm \delta(y)}$ and ${xy + yx = \delta(x) \pm \delta(y)}$ holds for all ${x, y \in R}$ . Further, we have proved that if R is a prime ring with suitable torsion restriction then R is commutative if there exist non-zero permuting n-derivations Δ1 and Δ2 from ${R^n \to R}$ such that Δ1(δ 2(x), x, . . . ,x) =  0 for all ${x \in R,}$ where δ 2 is the trace of Δ2. Finally, it is shown that in a prime ring R of suitable torsion restriction, if ${\Delta_1, \Delta_2 : R^n \longrightarrow R}$ are non-zero permuting n-derivations with traces δ 1, δ 2, respectively, and ${B : R^n \longrightarrow R}$ is a permuting n-additive map with trace f such that δ 1 δ 2(x) =  f(x) holds for all ${x \in R}$ , then R is commutative.  相似文献

We consider singular solutions of the functional equation ${f(xf(x)) = \varphi (f(x))}$ where ${\varphi}$ is a given and f an unknown continuous map ${\mathbb R_{+} \rightarrow \mathbb R_{+}}$ . A solution f is regular if the sets ${R_f \cap (0, 1]}$ and ${R_f \cap [1, \infty)}$ , where R f is the range of f, are ${\varphi}$ -invariant; otherwise f is singular. We show that for singular solutions the associated dynamical system ${({R_f}, \varphi|_{R_f})}$ can have strange properties unknown for the regular solutions. In particular, we show that ${\varphi |_{R_f}}$ can have a periodic point of period 3 and hence can be chaotic in a strong sense. We also provide an effective method of construction of singular solutions.  相似文献

Let ${\phi(x)}$ be a rational function of degree >?1 defined over a number field K and let ${\Phi_{n}(x,t) = \phi^{(n)}(x)-t \in K(x,t)}$ where ${\phi^{(n)}(x)}$ is the nth iterate of ${\phi(x)}$ . We give a formula for the discriminant of the numerator of Φ n (x, t) and show that, if ${\phi(x)}$ is postcritically finite, for each specialization t 0 of t to K, there exists a finite set ${S_{t_0}}$ of primes of K such that for all n, the primes dividing the discriminant are contained in ${S_{t_0}}$ .  相似文献

Let ${(\phi, \psi)}$ be an (m, n)-valued pair of maps ${\phi, \psi : X \multimap Y}$ , where ${\phi}$ is an m-valued map and ${\psi}$ is n-valued, on connected finite polyhedra. A point ${x \in X}$ is a coincidence point of ${\phi}$ and ${\psi}$ if ${\phi(x) \cap \psi(x) \neq \emptyset}$ . We define a Nielsen coincidence number ${N(\phi : \psi)}$ which is a lower bound for the number of coincidence points of all (m, n)-valued pairs of maps homotopic to ${(\phi, \psi)}$ . We calculate ${N(\phi : \psi)}$ for all (m, n)-valued pairs of maps of the circle and show that ${N(\phi : \psi)}$ is a sharp lower bound in that setting. Specifically, if ${\phi}$ is of degree a and ${\psi}$ of degree b, then ${N(\phi : \psi) = \frac{|an - bm|}{\langle m, n \rangle}}$ , where ${\langle m, n \rangle}$ is the greatest common divisor of m and n. In order to carry out the calculation, we obtain results, of independent interest, for n-valued maps of compact connected Lie groups that relate the Nielsen fixed point number of Helga Schirmer to the Nielsen root number of Michael Brown.  相似文献

We study that the n-graph defined by a smooth map ${f:\Omega\subset\mathbb R^{n}\to \mathbb R^{m}, m\ge 2,}$ in ${\mathbb R^{m+n}}$ of the prescribed mean curvature and the Gauss image. Under the condition $$\Delta_f=\left[\text{det}\left(\delta_{ij}+\sum_\alpha{\frac {\partial {f^\alpha}}{\partial {x^i}}}{\frac {\partial {f^\alpha}}{\partial {x^j}}}\right)\right]^{\frac{1}{2}} < 2,$$ we derive the interior curvature estimates $$\sup_{D_R(x)}|B|^2\le{\frac{C}{R^2}}$$ when 2 ≤ n ≤ 5 with constant C depending on the given geometric data. If there is no dimension limitation we obtain $$\sup_{D_R(x)}|B|^2\le CR^{-a}\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}(2-\Delta_f)^{-\left({\frac{3}{2}}+{\frac{1}{s}}\right)},\quad s=\min(m, n)$$ with a < 1. If the image under the Gauss map is contained in a geodesic ball of the radius ${{\frac{\sqrt{2}}{4}}\pi}$ in G n,m we also derive corresponding estimates.  相似文献

We study limit behavior for sums of the form $\frac{1}{|\Lambda_{L|}}\sum_{x\in \Lambda_{L}}u(t,x),$ where the field $\Lambda_L=\left\{x\in {\bf{Z^d}}:|x|\le L\right\}$ is composed of solutions of the parabolic Anderson equation $$u(t,x) = 1 + \kappa \mathop{\int}_{0}^{t} \Delta u(s,x){\rm d}s + \mathop{\int}_{0}^{t}u(s,x)\partial B_{x}(s). $$ The index set is a box in Z d , namely $\Lambda_{L} = \left\{x\in {\bf Z}^{\bf d} : |x| \leq L\right\}$ and L = L(t) is a nondecreasing function $L : [0,\infty)\rightarrow {\bf R}^{+}. $ We identify two critical parameters $\eta(1) < \eta(2)$ such that for $\gamma > \eta(1)$ and L(t) = eγ t , the sums $\frac{1}{|\Lambda_L|}\sum_{x\in \Lambda_L}u(t,x)$ satisfy a law of large numbers, or put another way, they exhibit annealed behavior. For $\gamma > \eta(2)$ and L(t) = eγ t , one has $\sum_{x\in \Lambda_L}u(t,x)$ when properly normalized and centered satisfies a central limit theorem. For subexponential scales, that is when $\lim_{t \rightarrow \infty} \frac{1}{t}\ln L(t) = 0,$ quenched asymptotics occur. That means $\lim_{t\rightarrow \infty}\frac{1}{t}\ln\left (\frac{1}{|\Lambda_L|}\sum_{x\in \Lambda_L}u(t,x)\right) = \gamma(\kappa),$ where $\gamma(\kappa)$ is the almost sure Lyapunov exponent, i.e. $\lim_{t\rightarrow \infty}\frac{1}{t}\ln u(t,x)= \gamma(\kappa).$ We also examine the behavior of $\frac{1}{|\Lambda_L|}\sum_{x\in \Lambda_L}u(t,x)$ for L = e γ t with γ in the transition range $(0,\eta(1))$   相似文献

We discuss the Funk function $F(x,y)$ on a Teichmüller space with its Weil–Petersson metric $(\mathcal{T },d)$ introduced in Yamada (Convex bodies in Euclidean and Weil–Petersson geometries, 2011), which was originally studied for an open convex subset in a Euclidean space by Funk [cf. Papadopoulos and Troyanov (Math Proc Cambridge Philos Soc 147:419–437, 2009)]. $F(x,y)$ is an asymmetric distance and invariant by the action of the mapping class group. Unlike the original one, $F(x,y)$ is not always convex in $y$ with $x$ fixed (Corollary 2.11, Theorem 5.1). For each pseudo-Anosov mapping class $g$ and a point $x \in \mathcal{T }$ , there exists $E$ such that for all $n\not = 0$ , $ \log |n| -E \le F(x,g^n.x) \le \log |n|+E$ (Corollary 2.10), while $F(x,g^n.x)$ is bounded if $g$ is a Dehn twist (Proposition 2.13). The translation length is defined by $|g|_F=\inf _{x \in \mathcal{T }}F(x,g.x)$ for a map $g: \mathcal{T }\rightarrow \mathcal{T }$ . If $g$ is a pseudo-Anosov mapping class, there exists $Q$ such that for all $n \not = 0$ , $\log |n| -Q \le |g^n|_F \le \log |n| + Q.$ For sufficiently large $n$ , $|g^n|_F >0$ and the infimum is achieved. If $g$ is a Dehn twist, then $|g^n|_F=0$ for each $n$ (Theorem 2.16). Some geodesics in $(\mathcal{T },d)$ are geodesics in terms of $F$ as well. We find a decomposition of $\mathcal{T }$ by sets, each of which is foliated by those geodesics (Theorem 4.10).  相似文献

A space X is discretely generated at a point \({x \in X}\) if for any \({A \subseteqq X}\) with \({x \in \textsf{cl}(A)}\) , there exists a discrete set \({D \subseteqq A}\) such that \({x \in \textsf{cl}(D)}\) . The space X is discretely generated if it is discretely generated at every point \({x \in X}\) . We say that X is weakly discretely generated if for any non-closed set \({A \subseteqq X}\) , there exists a discrete set \({D \subseteqq A}\) such that \({\textsf{cl}(D) \setminus A \neq \emptyset}\) . New results about these properties in the classes of pseudocompact and ?ech-complete spaces are obtained and a theorem of Ivanov and Osipov concerning the ordinal function idc is generalized to the class of ?ech-complete spaces.  相似文献

Let ${I\subset\mathbb{R}}$ be a nonvoid open interval and let L : I 2I be a fixed strict mean. A function M : I 2I is said to be an L-conjugate mean on I if there exist ${p,q\in\,]0,1]}$ and ${\varphi\in CM(I)}$ such that $$M(x,y):=\varphi^{-1}(p\varphi(x)+q\varphi(y)+(1-p-q) \varphi(L(x,y)))=:L_\varphi^{(p,q)}(x,y),$$ for all ${x,y\in I}$ . Here L(x, y) : = A χ(x, y) ${(x,y\in I)}$ is a fixed quasi-arithmetic mean with the fixed generating function ${\chi\in CM(I)}$ . We examine the following question: which L-conjugate means are weighted quasi-arithmetic means with weight ${r\in\, ]0,1[}$ at the same time? This question is a functional equation problem: Characterize the functions ${\varphi,\psi\in CM(I)}$ and the parameters ${p,q\in\,]0,1]}$ , ${r\in\,]0,1[}$ for which the equation $$L_\varphi^{(p,q)}(x,y)=L_\psi^{(r,1-r)}(x,y)$$ holds for all ${x,y\in I}$ .  相似文献

A conflict-avoiding code (CAC) \({\mathcal{C}}\) of length n and weight k is a collection of k-subsets of \({\mathbb{Z}_{n}}\) such that \({\Delta (x) \cap \Delta (y) = \emptyset}\) for any \({x, y \in \mathcal{C}}\) , \({x\neq y}\) , where \({\Delta (x) = \{a - b:\,a, b \in x, a \neq b\}}\) . Let CAC(n, k) denote the class of all CACs of length n and weight k. A CAC with maximum size is called optimal. In this paper, we study the constructions of optimal CACs for the case when n is odd and k = 3.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with center Z(R). An additive mapping ${F : R \longrightarrow R}$ is said to be a generalized derivation on R if there exists a derivation ${d : R \longrightarrow R}$ such that F(xy) = F(x)y + xd(y), for all ${x, y \in R}$ (the map d is called the derivation associated with F). Let R be a semiprime ring and U be a nonzero left ideal of R. In the present note we prove that if R admits a generalized derivation F, d is the derivation associated with F such that d(U) ≠ (0) then R contains some nonzero central ideal, if one of the following conditions holds: (1) R is 2-torsion free and ${F(xy) \in Z(R)}$ , for all ${x, y \in U}$ , unless F(U)U = UF(U) = Ud(U) = (0); (2) ${F(xy) \mp yx \in Z(R)}$ , for all ${x,y \in U}$ ; (3) ${F(xy) \mp [x,y] \in Z(R)}$ , for all ${x,y \in U}$ ; (4) F ≠ 0 and F([x,y]) = 0, for all ${x, y \in U}$ , unless Ud(U) = (0); (5) F ≠ 0 and ${F([x, y]) \in Z(R)}$ , for all ${x, y \in U}$ , unless either d(Z(R))U = (0) or Ud(U) = (0)n.  相似文献

Given a vector field ${\mathfrak{a}}$ on ${\mathbb{R}^3}$ , we consider a mapping ${x\mapsto \Pi_{\mathfrak{a}}(x)}$ that assigns to each ${x\in\mathbb{R}^3}$ , a plane ${\Pi_{\mathfrak{a}}(x)}$ containing x, whose normal vector is ${\mathfrak{a}(x)}$ . Associated with this mapping, we define a maximal operator ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ on ${L^1_{loc}(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ for each ${N\gg 1}$ by $$\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_Nf(x)=\sup_{x\in\tau} \frac{1}{|\tau|} \int_{\tau}|f(y)|\,dy$$ where the supremum is taken over all 1/N ×? 1/N?× 1 tubes τ whose axis is embedded in the plane ${\Pi_\mathfrak{a}(x)}$ . We study the behavior of ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ according to various vector fields ${\mathfrak{a}}$ . In particular, we classify the operator norms of ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ on ${L^2(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ when ${\mathfrak{a}(x)}$ is the linear function of the form (a 11 x 1?+?a 21 x 2, a 12 x 1?+?a 22 x 2, 1). The operator norm of ${\mathcal{M}^\mathfrak{a}_N}$ on ${L^2(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ is related with the number given by $$D=(a_{12}+a_{21})^2-4a_{11}a_{22}.$$   相似文献

Let ${\mathbf{T}=\{T(t)\} _{t\in\mathbb{R}}}$ be a ??(X, F)-continuous group of isometries on a Banach space X with generator A, where ??(X, F) is an appropriate local convex topology on X induced by functionals from ${ F\subset X^{\ast}}$ . Let ?? A (x) be the local spectrum of A at ${x\in X}$ and ${r_{A}(x):=\sup\{\vert\lambda\vert :\lambda \in \sigma_{A}(x)\},}$ the local spectral radius of A at x. It is shown that for every ${x\in X}$ and ${\tau\in\mathbb{R},}$ $$\left\Vert T(\tau) x-x\right\Vert \leq \left\vert \tau \right\vert r_{A}(x)\left\Vert x\right\Vert.$$ Moreover if ${0\leq \tau r_{A}(x)\leq \frac{\pi}{2},}$ then it holds that $$\left\Vert T(\tau) x-T(-\tau)x\right\Vert \leq 2\sin \left(\tau r_{A}(x)\right)\left\Vert x\right\Vert.$$ Asymptotic versions of these results for C 0-semigroup of contractions are also obtained. If ${\mathbf{T}=\{T(t)\}_{t\geq 0}}$ is a C 0-semigroup of contractions, then for every ${x\in X}$ and ????? 0, $$\underset{t\rightarrow \infty }{\lim } \left\Vert T( t+\tau) x-T(t) x\right\Vert\leq\tau\sup\left\{ \left\vert \lambda \right\vert :\lambda \in\sigma_{A}(x)\cap i \mathbb{R} \right\} \left\Vert x\right\Vert. $$ Several applications are given.  相似文献

For q?≥ 3, we let ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the projectivization of the set of symmetric q × q matrices with coefficients in ${\mathbb{C}}$ . We let ${I(x)=(x_{i,j})^{-1}}$ denote the matrix inverse, and we let ${J(x)=(x_{i,j}^{-1})}$ be the matrix whose entries are the reciprocals of the entries of x. We let ${K|\mathcal{S}_q=I\circ J:~\mathcal{S}_q\rightarrow \mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the restriction of the composition I ? J to ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ . This is a birational map whose properties have attracted some attention in statistical mechanics. In this paper we compute the degree complexity of ${K|\mathcal{S}_q}$ , thus confirming a conjecture of Angles d’Auriac et?al. (J Phys A Math Gen 39:3641–3654, 2006).  相似文献

Letq be a regular quadratic form on a vector space (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) and assume dimV ≥ 4 and ¦ $\mathbb{F}$ ¦ ≥ 4. We consider a permutation ? of the central affine quadric $\mathcal{F}$ := {x εV ¦q(x) = 1} such that $$(*)x \cdot y = \mu \Leftrightarrow x^\varphi \cdot y^\varphi = \mu \forall x,y\varepsilon \mathcal{F}$$ holds true, where μ is a fixed element of $\mathbb{F}$ and where “·” is the scalar product associated withq. We prove that ? is induced (in a certain sense) by a semi-linear bijection (σ,?): (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) → (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) such thatq o ?o q, provided $\mathcal{F}$ contains lines and the pair (μ, $\mathbb{F}$ ) has additional properties if there ar no planes in $\mathcal{F}$ . The cases μ, 0 and μ = 0 require different techniques.  相似文献

Let ${I\subset\mathbb{R}}$ be a nonempty open interval and let ${L:I^2\to I}$ be a fixed strict mean. This paper is concerned with estimations of solutions of the Sturm–Liouville equation $$\big(p(x)y'(x)\big)'+\Big(\mu^2 -2i\mu d(x)-q(x)\Big)\rho(x)y(x)=0, \ \ x\in[0,1],$$ ( p ( x ) y ' ( x ) ) ' + ( μ 2 - 2 i μ d ( x ) - q ( x ) ) ρ ( x ) y ( x ) = 0 , x ∈ [ 0 , 1 ] , where ${\mu\in\mathbb{C}}$ μ ∈ C is a spectral parameter. We assume that the strictly positive function ${\rho\in L_{\infty}[0,1]}$ ρ ∈ L ∞ [ 0 , 1 ] is of bounded variation, ${p\in W^1_1[0,1]}$ p ∈ W 1 1 [ 0 , 1 ] is also strictly positive, while ${d\in L_1[0,1]}$ d ∈ L 1 [ 0 , 1 ] and ${q\in L_1[0,1]}$ q ∈ L 1 [ 0 , 1 ] are real functions. The main result states that for any r > 0 there exists a constant c r such that for any solution y of the Sturm–Liouville equation with μ satisfying ${|{\rm Im}\, \mu|\leq r}$ | Im μ | ≤ r , the inequality ${\|y(\cdot,\mu)\|_C\leq c_r\|y(\cdot,\mu)\|_{L_1}}$ ∥ y ( · , μ ) ∥ C ≤ c r ∥ y ( · , μ ) ∥ L 1 is true. We apply our results to a problem of vibrations of an inhomogeneous string of length one with damping, modulus of elasticity and potential, rewritten in an operator form. As a consequence, we obtain that the operator acting on a certain energy Hilbert space is the generator of an exponentially stable C 0-semigroup.  相似文献
