First measurements and identification of minority ion-cyclotron emission (MICE) during ICRF (H)D minority heating in the JET tokamak are presented. An inner wall radiofrequency (rf) probe shows the new single MICE spectral line, down-shifted from the heating frequency and appearing approximately 400 ms after the ICRH switch-on. The line is narrow (Deltaomega/omega approximately 0.04), characterized by the ion-cyclotron frequency of minority protons in the outer-edge midplane plasma and is observed irrespective of whether single or multifrequency ICRH is applied. The observations are consistent with the classical evolution and population of the plasma edge with approximately 3 MeV ICRH protons on orbits near the outboard limiters. Particle loss and energy filtering contribute to a local non-Maxwellian energetic ion distribution, which is susceptible to ion-cyclotron instability.  相似文献

Turbulence properties in the scrape-off layer (SOL) in the presence of ion cyclotron frequency heating (ICRH) are compared to instances where it is absent. The discharges are all in a high-confinement mode (H-mode) regime. During ICRH, the SOL plasma density increases whereas turbulence large-scale and convective structures are shown to be suppressed. The probability distribution function is thus recorded to be closer to a Gaussian, and a net decrease in the low-frequency density fluctuations is reflected in the power spectra. Consequently, the level of turbulent fluctuations decreases significantly. Turbulence suppression is also reported during edge localized modes (ELMs) where both the ELMs-induced transport and duration are strongly affected. The increase of neutrals by gas puffing did not alter this behavior. We deduce that ICRH can be used as to suppress convective transport and reduce the ELM's amplitude.  相似文献

Recently, reversed magnetic shear operation was performed using only ion-cyclotron-resonance frequency minority heating (ICRH) during current ramp-up. A wide region of reversed magnetic shear has been obtained. For the first time, an electron internal transport barrier sustained by ICRH is observed, with a dramatical drop of density fluctuations. This barrier was maintained, on the current flat top, for about 2 s.  相似文献

For most of small and medium sized Tokamaks, the unstable mode responsible for the sawtooth crash is the resistive internal kink mode. However, the plasma parameters can be in the ion kinetic regime. In this paper, we consider the dependence of the mode growth rate on the magnetic shear which is changeable during a sawtooth cycle and find that the ion viscosity effect can completely stabilize the mode only for shear smaller than some critical value, corresponding to the stable phase of the sawtooth evolution. This is consistent with one of the salient phenomena of the sawtooth, the sudden onset.  相似文献

In order to have successful and reliable high-power ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) launchers operating in 5-MW power range by 1986-1988 time range, much research and development work is required. A discussion of the major electrical and thermodynamic problems associated with development of these high-power launchers is presented and two candidate high-power launchers are described in detail. One, an integrally tunable cavity-backed U-slot, can be flush mounted, can operate at high power, and can be tuned over a 2:1 frequency band. The other, a dielectrically loaded U-slot, can also be flush mounted, also operates at high power, but can operate at lower frequencies. Required tests and test scenarios for both hot (with plasma) and cold (no plasma) facilities are discussed. In addition, a brief discussion of potential reactor relevant ICRH materials is also included.  相似文献

A model for arrays of ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) antennae is presented, each antenna being fed by a separate generator with its own tuning system. In view of wave spectrum shaping, arbitrary phasing is introduced between the generators. The array is analyzed in quasi-TEM modes, and its equivalent impedance matrix is derived. In the case of an antenna pair, we study the matching of both generators, which becomes quite involved due to the strong coupling between antennae, and we investigate the consequences of tuning errors on the whole system.  相似文献

It is shown that for the ideal internal kink mode of tokamak plasma, there exists a critical magnetic shear s0c for its excitation when the finite ion Larmor radius effect is considered in the mode singular layer. This can be related to the sudden onset of the sawtooth and also to the stabilization of the sawtooth by the trapped hot ions observed experimentally. The alpha particle effect on this mode is revisited and some new results are reported.  相似文献

A general approach for deriving the expression of reference distribution functions by statistical thermodynamics is illustrated, and applied to the case of a magnetically confined plasma. The local equilibrium is defined by imposing the minimum entropy production, which applies only to the linear regime near a stationary thermodynamically non-equilibrium state and the maximum entropy principle under the scale invariance restrictions. This procedure may be adopted for a system subject to an arbitrary number of thermodynamic forces, however, for concreteness, we analyze, afterwords, a magnetically confined plasma subject to three thermodynamic forces, and three energy sources: (i) the total Ohmic heat, supplied by the transformer coil; (ii) the energy supplied by neutral beam injection (NBI); and (iii) the RF energy supplied by ion cyclotron resonant heating (ICRH) system which heats the minority population. In this limit case, we show that the derived expression of the distribution function is more general than that one, which is currently used for fitting the numerical steady-state solutions obtained by simulating the plasma by gyro-kinetic codes. An application to a simple model of fully ionized plasmas submitted to an external source is discussed. Through kinetic theory, we fixed the values of the free parameters linking them with the external power supplies. The singularity at low energy in the proposed distribution function is related to the intermittency in the turbulent plasma.  相似文献

A compound sawtooth with an incomplete relaxation was observed in EAST’s lower hybrid current drive(LHCD)plasma. The sub-crash phase of the compound sawtooth corresponds to a longer-lasting and slower-growing 1/1 mode.Based on the two-dimensional(2D) SXR tomography, the time-dependent 2D image of a compound sawtooth crash is obtained. The island produced during a resistive internal kink mode is observed in the all crash phases of the compound sawtooth. The destabilization of 1/1 long-lasting saturated 1/1 mode is related to the current driven by the LHCD near the q = 1 surface.  相似文献

在常规大气环境下,对常规、半圆和锯齿三种不同布局的等离子体气动激励器的放电特性与加速效果进行了实验研究,对不同激励参数下的频率与放电电压和频率与放电电流以及等离子体气动激励器诱导的边界层速度进行了测量。实验结果表明:当等离子气动激励器基本设计参数相同时,布局形式的改变使得放电电压和放电电流参数值发生变化,但其谐振频率保持不变,诱导气流速度则相应的发生改变;实验中还发现,半圆、锯齿等离子体气动激励器放电时离子流对绝缘材料有很强的破坏作用。  相似文献

利用HT-7装置上建立的多阵列软X射线诊断系统对等离子体放电中的锯齿不稳定性进行研究,发现锯齿的出现及其行为特点与等离子体电子密度Ne、电子温度Te、边界安全因子qα、壁条件等放电参数有密切关系。在低杂波电流驱动等离子体放电条件下,观察到m/n=1/1的中间模振荡出现在锯齿的上升阶段,并迅速发展、饱和、衰减,在锯齿塌陷或先兆振荡出现以前消失。分析和讨论了欧姆加热条件下和低杂波加热条件下的锯齿行为。  相似文献
