Time-resolved x-ray diffraction with picosecond temporal resolution is used to observe scattering from impulsively generated coherent acoustic phonons in laser-excited InSb crystals. The observed frequencies and damping rates are in agreement with a model based on dynamical diffraction theory coupled to analytic solutions for the laser-induced strain profile. The results are consistent with a 12 ps thermal electron-acoustic phonon coupling time together with an instantaneous component from the deformation-potential interaction. Above a critical laser fluence, we show that the first step in the transition to a disordered state is the excitation of large amplitude, coherent atomic motion.  相似文献

The possibility of increasing the resolution of an X-ray image by changing the relief of the crystal surface is studied. The simulation data for X-ray images obtained by X-ray diffraction from the crystal surface with a columnar relief are presented. It was shown that the resolution of the X-ray image increases more than ten times in the case of the relief of a columnar surface.  相似文献

If in a dense plasma the polarization of the medium by a moving neutrino is taken into account, the cross section of neutrino elastic scattering form nuclei differs noticeably from the Born cross section due to induced electric charge of the neutrino in the medium.  相似文献

Continuum radiation from the argon plasma generated by a cascade arc has been investigated over the pressure range 1–10 atm and the temperature range 12?16×1030K in the visible, near i.r. and u.v. spectral regions. Plasma temperatures were found from absolute intensities of the argon atom and ion lines; the concentrations of charged particles were determined from the ion-line half-widths.The results obtained on the continuum radiation intensity are compared with theoretical and experimental data obtained by other authors. At elevated pressures, the experimental data have been found to exceed theoretical values in the spectral region under investigation. The dependence of the recombination-threshold-shift in the plasma on azimuthal quantum number appears to be worthy of special attention. Possible reasons for excess radiation are discussed.  相似文献

A study is made of the propagation of an electromagnetic wave along a constant magnetic field B0 in a high-density plasma under cyclotron resonance conditions when the interaction between the electrons and the wave is strongly nonlinear. It is found that the relativistic reduction in the electron gyrofrequency in the field of the electromagnetic pulse stabilizes the wave. A solution is obtained in the form of an envelope soliton and it is shown that its group velocity is considerably reduced.State University, Rostov-on-Don. We measure transient strain in ultrafast laser-excited Ge by time-resolved x-ray anomalous transmission. The development of the coherent strain pulse is dominated by rapid ambipolar diffusion. This pulse extends considerably longer than the laser penetration depth because the plasma initially propagates faster than the acoustic modes. X-ray diffraction simulations are in agreement with the observed dynamics.  相似文献

Structure factors for Ca (x/2)Al xSi 1-xO (2) glasses (x = 0,0.25,0. 5,0.67) extended to a wave vector of magnitude Q = 40 A (-1) have been obtained by high-energy x-ray diffraction. For the first time, it is possible to resolve the contributions of Si-O, Al-O, and Ca-O coordination polyhedra to the experimental atomic pair distribution functions. It has been found that the connectivity of Si/Al-O tetrahedral network decreases with increasing x due to the emerging of nonbridging oxygens located on Si-O tetrahedra. Calcium maintains a rather uniform coordination sphere for all values of x and so it plays a certain role in determining the glass structure.  相似文献

An algorithm is constructed for solving the problem of diagnostics of an optically dense plasma from the absorption spectra of isolated self-reversed spectral lines. The basic parameters taken are the width of the absorption line at the level 0.8Jo, where Jo is the intensity of the transmitted radiation, and the asymmetry of the absorption profile. The problem is solved by computer with the iteration method on the basis of the transverse pattern of the spectra. The radial variation of the concentration of absorbing atoms, of the electron concentration, and of the thin layer profile is determined. An experimental study of the absorption of a laser light pulse in a transient, high-density, high-temperature plasma is presented. The plasma is generated around a metallic anode tip by a fast capacitive discharge occurring in vacuum. The amount of transmitted light is measured for plasmas made of different metallic ions in the regions of the discharge of high electronic density. Variation of the transmission during the laser pulse is also recorded. Plasma electrons are considered responsible for the very high absorption observed.  相似文献

An express method of diagnostics of a wide class of plasma objects (including dense plasma) with high spectral and spatial resolution is suggested, which allows measurement of spectral line widths comparable with the free spectral interval of a Fabry—Perot interferometer.
