We consider polyhedral approximations of strictly convex compacta in finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces (such compacta are also uniformly convex). We obtain the best possible estimates for errors of considered approximations in the Hausdorff metric. We also obtain new estimates of an approximate algorithm for finding the convex hulls.  相似文献

We study the coefficient stability of a difference scheme approximating a mixed problem for a one-dimensional semilinear parabolic equation. We obtain sufficient conditions on the input data under which the solutions of the differential and difference problems are bounded. We also obtain estimates of perturbations of the solution of a linearized difference scheme with respect to perturbations of the coefficients; these estimates agree with the estimates for the differential problem.  相似文献

We obtain sufficient conditions for the regular solvability of initial boundary-value problems for a class of operator-differential equations of third order with variable coefficients on the semiaxis. These conditions are expressed only in terms of the operator coefficients of the equations under study. We obtain estimates of the norms of intermediate derivative operators via the discontinuous principal parts of the equations and also find relations between these estimates and the conditions for regular solvability.  相似文献

We establish sharp estimates for the best approximations of convolution classes by entire functions of exponential type. To obtain these estimates, we propose a new method for testing Nikol’ski?-type conditions which is based on kernel periodization with an arbitrarily large period and ensuing passage to the limit. As particular cases, we obtain sharp estimates for approximation of convolution classes with variation diminishing kernels and generalized Bernoulli and Poisson kernels.  相似文献

We prove a Harnack inequality on connected Lie groups of polynomial volume growth. We use this inequality to study the large time behavior of the heat kernels associated to centered sub-Laplacians. Thus, we obtain Gaussian estimates and estimates of the type Berry—Esseen. We also obtain similar results for the convolution powers of centered densities.  相似文献

We construct a semiclassical parametrix for the resolvent of the Laplacian acting on functions on nontrapping conformally compact manifolds with variable sectional curvature at infinity. We apply this parametrix to analyze the Schwartz kernel of the semiclassical resolvent and Poisson operator and to show that the semiclassical scattering matrix is a semiclassical Fourier Integral Operator of appropriate class that quantizes the scattering relation. We also obtain high energy estimates for the resolvent and show existence of resonance free strips of arbitrary height away from the imaginary axis. We then use the results of Datchev and Vasy on gluing semiclassical resolvent estimates to obtain semiclassical resolvent estimates on certain conformally compact manifolds with hyperbolic trapping.  相似文献

We consider Tikhonov regularization of control-constrained optimal control problems. We present new a-priori estimates for the regularization error assuming measure and source-measure conditions. In the special case of bang–bang solutions, we introduce another assumption to obtain the same convergence rates. This new condition turns out to be useful in the derivation of error estimates for the discretized problem. The necessity of the just mentioned assumptions to obtain certain convergence rates is analyzed. Finally, a numerical example confirms the analytical findings.  相似文献

We estimate Weyl numbers and eigenvalues of operators via studying their abstract summing norms. In particular we prove estimates of these summing norms for abstract interpolation Lorentz spaces. For this we combine factorization theorems with estimates of concavity constants. Finally we apply our general eigenvalue results to integral operators with kernels of weakly singular type. We prove sharp pointwise estimates for functions in the Sobolev spaces of radial functions defined in a ball. As a consequence, we obtain some imbeddings of such Sobolev spaces in weighted Lq-spaces. We also prove similar imbeddings for Sobolev spaces of functions with partial symmetry. Our techniques lead to new Hardy type inequalities. It is important to observe that we do not require any vanishing condition on the boundary to obtain all our estimates. We apply these imbeddings to obtain radial solutions and partially symmetric solutions for a biharmonic equation of the Hénon type under both Dirichlet and Navier boundary conditions. We define and study Hilbert polynomials for certain holomorphic Hilbert spaces. We obtain several estimates for these polynomials and their coefficients. Our estimates inspire us to investigate the connection between the leading coefficients of Hilbert polynomials for invariant subspaces of the symmetric Fock space and Arveson's curvature invariant for coinvariant subspaces. We are able to obtain some formulas relating the curvature invariant with other invariants. In particular, we prove that Arveson's version of the Gauss-Bonnet-Chern formula is true when the invariant subspaces are generated by any polynomials.  相似文献
