Pre-concentration and determination of 8 phenolic compounds in water samples has been achieved by in situ derivatization and using a new liquid–liquid microextraction coupled GC–MS system. Microextraction efficiency factors have been investigated and optimized: 9 μL 1-undecanol microdrop exposed for 15 min floated on surface of a 10 mL water sample at 55 °C, stirred at 1200 rpm, low pH level and saturated salt conditions. Chromatographic problems associated with free phenols have been overcome by simultaneous in situ derivatization utilizing 40 μL of acetic anhydride and 0.5% (w/v) K2CO3. Under the selected conditions, pre-concentration factor of 235–1174, limit of detection of 0.005–0.68 μg/L (S/N = 3) and linearity range of 0.02–300 μg/L have been obtained. A reasonable repeatability (RSD ≤ 10.4%, n = 5) with satisfactory linearity (0.9995 ≥ r2 ≥ 0.9975) of results illustrated a good performance of the present method. The relative recovery of different natural water samples was higher than 84%. 相似文献

A screen-printed three-electrode amperometric biosensor based on urease and the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydrogen (NADH)–glutamic dehydrogenase system was developed and applied to the screening of heavy metals in environmental samples. The development of an amperometric sensor for the monitoring of urease activity was feasible by coupling the urea breakdown reaction catalysed by urease to the reductive ammination of ketoglutarate catalysed by glutamic dehydrogenase (GLDH). The ammonia provided by the urea conversion is required for the conversion of ketoglutarate to glutamate with the concomitant oxidation of the NADH cofactor. NADH oxidation is monitored amperometrically at 0.3 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) after urease immobilization onto the screen-printed three-electrode configuration. Immobilization of urease on the surface of screen-printed electrodes was performed by entrapment in alginate gel and adsorption on the electrode in a nafion film. Low sensitivity to inactivation by metals was recorded after urease entrapment in alginate gel with detection limits of 2.9 and 29.8 mg L–1 for Hg(II) and Cu(II), respectively. The use of the negatively charged nafion film created a more concentrated environment of cations in proximity to the enzyme, thus enhancing the urease inhibition when compared to gel entrapment. The calculated detection limits were 63.6 and 55.3 g L–1 for Hg(II) and Cu(II), respectively, and 4.3 mg L–1 for Cd(II). A significant urease inactivation was recorded in the presence of trace amounts of metals (g L–1) when the enzyme was used free in solution. Analysis of water and soil samples with the developed nafion-based sensor produced inhibition on urease activity according to their metal contents. The obtained results were in agreement with the standard methods employed for sample analysis. Nevertheless, the use of the amperometric assay (with free urease) proved more feasible for the screening of trace amounts of metals in polluted samples. 相似文献

It is well known that the first step of the sol-gel method consists in obtaining of amorphous or incipient crystallized materials that could be kept in the same state or could be transformed into vitreous or crystallized materials by adequate thermal treatments. In the present study, examples regarding the relevance of the thermal analysis methods for the characterization of the sol–gel-derived oxide systems, inorganic–organic hybrids, and composite nanomaterials are discussed. For the oxide systems, case studies regarding undoped and doped monocomponent oxides and polycomponent systems are discussed. In the case of inorganic–organic hybrids, the correlation between the type of precursors and the thermal behavior is presented. For the composite nanomaterials, examples for thermal behavior of two types of nanocomposites, namely both compositionally and structurally different, as well as inorganic–organic hybrid sol-gel nanocomposites are shown. In all studied cases, the thermal analysis methods allow obtaining important information not only on thermal behavior but also on the chemical composition of the as-prepared gels and powders. Different structural investigations methods (XRD, FTIR, and Raman) sustain the results obtained by thermal investigations. 相似文献

An at-line analysis protocol is presented that allows the determination of four UV filters, two polycyclic musk compounds and caffeine in water at concentration level of ng L−1. The fully automated method includes analytes enrichment by Microextraction by packed sorbent (MEPS) coupled directly to large volume injection-gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Two common SPE phases, C8 and C18, were examined for their suitability to extract the target substances by MEPS. The analytes were extracted from small sample volumes of 800 μL with recoveries ranging from 46 to 114% for the C8-sorbent and 65–109% for the C18-sorbent. Limits of detection between 34 and 96 ng L−1 enable the determination of the analytes at common environmental concentration levels. Both sorbents showed linear calibration curves for most of the analytes up to a concentration level of 20 ng mL−1. Carryover was minimized by washing the sorbents 10 times with 100 μL methanol. After this thorough cleaning, the MEPS are re-used and up to 70 analyses can be performed with the same sorbent. The fully automated microextraction GC–MS protocol was evaluated for the influence of matrix substances typical for wastewater. Dilution of samples prior to MEPS is recommended when the polar caffeine is present at high concentration. Real water samples were analyzed by the MEPS-GC–MS method and compared to standard SPE. 相似文献

A new simple and rapid dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction has been applied to preconcentrate trace levels of cobalt as a prior step to its determination by spectrophotometric detection. In this method a small amount of chloroform as the extraction solvent was dissolved in pure ethanol as the disperser solvent, then the binary solution was rapidly injected by a syringe into the water sample containing cobalt ions complexed by 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN). This forms a cloudy solution. The cloudy state was the result of chloroform fine droplets formation, which has been dispersed in bulk aqueous sample. Therefore, Co-PAN complex was extracted into the fine chloroform droplets. After centrifugation (2 min at 5000 rpm) these droplets were sedimented at the bottom of conical test tube (about 100 µL) and then the whole of complex enriched extracted phase was determined by a spectrophotometer at 577 nm. Complex formation and extraction are usually affected by some parameters, such as the types and volumes of extraction solvent and disperser solvent, salt effect, pH and the concentration of chelating agent, which have been optimised for the presented method. Under optimum conditions, the enhancement factor (as the ratio of slope of preconcentrated sample to that obtained without preconcentration) of 125 was obtained from 50 mL of water sample, and the limit of detection (LOD) of the method was 0.5 µg L?1and the relative standard deviation (RSD, n = 5) for 50 µg L?1 of cobalt was 2.5%. The method was applied to the determination of cobalt in tap and river water samples. 相似文献

A procedure for the determination of seven parabens (esters of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid), including the distinction between branched
and linear isomers of propyl- and butyl-parabens and triclosan in water samples, was developed and evaluated. The procedure
includes in-sample acetylation-non-porous membrane-assisted liquid–liquid extraction and large volume injection–gas chromatography–ion
trap–tandem mass spectrometry. Different derivatisation strategies were considered, i.e. post-extraction silylation with N-methyl-N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)-trifluoroacetamide and in situ acylation with acetic anhydride (Ac2O) and isobutylchloroformate. Moreover, acceptor solvent and the basic catalyser of the acylation reaction were investigated.
Thus, in situ derivatisation with Ac2O and potassium hydrogenphosphate (as basic catalyser) was selected. Potassium hydrogenphosphate overcomes some drawbacks
of other basic catalysers, e.g. toxicity and bubble formation, while leads to higher responses. Subsequently, other experimental
variables affecting derivatisation–extraction yield such as pre-stirring time, salt addition and volume of Ac2O were optimised by an experimental design approach. Under optimised conditions, the proposed method achieved detection limits
from 0.1 to 1.4 ng L−1 for a sample volume of 18 mL and extraction efficiencies, estimated by comparison with liquid–liquid extraction, between
46% (for methyl- and ethyl-parabens) and 110% (for benzylparaben). The reported sample preparation approach is free of matrix
effects for parabens but affected for triclosan with a reduction of ≈ 40% when wastewater samples are analysed; therefore,
both internal and external calibration can be used as quantification techniques for parabens, but internal standard calibration
is mandatory for triclosan. The application of the method to real samples revealed the presence of these compounds in raw
wastewater at concentrations up to 26 ng mL−1, the prevalence of the linear isomer of propylparaben (n-PrP), and the coexistence of the two isomers of butylparaben (i-BuP and n-BuP) at similar levels. 相似文献

Membrane-assisted solvent extraction coupled to large volume injection in a programmable temperature vaporisation injector
using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis was optimised for the simultaneous determination of a variety of endocrine
disrupting compounds in environmental water samples (estuarine, river and wastewater). Among the analytes studied, certain
hormones, alkylphenols and bisphenol A were included. The nature of membranes, extraction solvent, extraction temperature,
solvent volume, extraction time, ionic strength and methanol addition were evaluated during the optimisation of the extraction.
Matrix effects during the extraction step were studied in different environmental water samples: estuarine water, river water
and wastewater (influent and effluent). Strong matrix effects were observed for most of the compounds in influent and effluent
samples. Different approaches were studied in order to correct or minimise matrix effects, which included the use of deuterated
analogues, matrix-matched calibration, standard addition calibration, dilution of the sample and clean-up of the extract using
solid-phase extraction (SPE). The use of deuterated analogues corrected satisfactorily matrix effect for estuarine and effluent
samples for most of the compounds. However, in the case of influent samples, standard addition calibration and dilution of
the sample were the best approaches. The SPE clean-up provided similar recoveries to those obtained after correction with
the corresponding deuterated analogue but better chromatographic signal was obtained in the case of effluent samples. Method
detection limits in the 5–54 ng L−1 range and precision, calculated as relative standard deviation, in the 2–25% range were obtained. 相似文献

A new simple and rapid vortex-assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method was applied for the determination of thorium in water samples. In this method, chloroform used as extraction solvent was directly injected into the water sample solution. The extraction solvent was dispersed into the aqueous phase under vigorously shaking with the vortex. After centrifuging, the fine droplets of extractant phase were settled to the bottom of the conical-bottom centrifuge tube. The effect of different experimental parameters on the performance of the method were studied and discussed. Under the optimum conditions, the detection limit for Th(IV) was 7.5 ng mL?1. The precision of the method, evaluated as the relative standard deviation obtained by analyzing of 10 replicates, was 2.8 %. The practical applicability of the developed method was examined using natural water and monazite sand samples. 相似文献

A simple and rapid analytical method based on in-matrix ethyl chloroformate (ECF) derivatization has been developed for the
quantitative determination of bisphenol-A (BPA) in milk and water samples. The samples containing BPA were derivatised with
ECF in the presence of pyridine for 20 s at room temperature, and the non-polar derivative thus formed was extracted using
polydimethylsiloxane solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibres with thicknesses of 100 μm followed by analysis using gas chromatography–mass
spectrometry. Three alkyl chloroformates (methyl, ethyl and isobutyl chloroformate) were tested for optimum derivatisation
yields, and ECF has been found to be optimum for the derivatisation of BPA. Several parameters such as amount of ECF, pyridine
and reaction time as well as SPME parameters were studied and optimised in the present work. The limit of detection for BPA
in milk and water samples was found to be 0.1 and 0.01 μg L−1, respectively, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 3:1. The limit of quantitation for BPA in milk and water was found to be 0.38
and 0.052 μg L−1, respectively, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 10:1. In conclusion, the method developed was found to be rapid, reliable
and cost-effective in comparison to silylation and highly suitable for the routine analysis of BPA by various food and environmental
laboratories. 相似文献

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are flame retardants, which due to their widespread use are frequently present as pollutants in the environment. In the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) six PBDE congeners (BDE 28, BDE47, BDE 99, BDE 100, BDE 153 and BDE 154) are listed as priority substances. The uncertainty of the analytical method used for their determination in water samples at environmental quality standard (EQS) level (0.5 ng L−1 for the ΣPBDEs) should be equal or less than 50% and the limit of quantification (LOQ) for ΣPBDEs below 0.15 ng L−1. To meet these requirements, an analytical procedure for the determination of these six PBDEs in environmental water samples by gas chromatography–inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (GC–ICP-MS) was developed. The acidification of water samples to pH 2 maintained the stability of PBDEs for at least 20 days. The use of Tris–citrate buffer enabled efficient desorption of PBDEs from suspended particulate matter (SPM) and humic acids (HA), and their further quantitative solvent extraction into 2 mL of iso-octane. When 300 mL of water sample was used for analysis and the organic phase concentrated to 25 μL, the expanded uncertainty for determination of PBDEs at EQS level was found to be around 40% (a coverage factor for a confidence level of 95%, k = 2), and the LOQ for the ΣPBDEs 0.109 ng L−1. Finally, to demonstrate the applicability of the newly developed GC–ICP-MS procedure, PBDEs were determined in river and sea water samples. 相似文献

Three primary nerve agent degradation products (ethyl-, isopropyl- and pinacolyl methylphosphonic acid) have been determined in water samples using on-line solid phase extraction-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (SPE-LC–MS) with electrospray ionisation. Porous graphitic carbon was employed for analyte enrichment followed by hydrophilic interaction chromatography. Diethylphosphate was applied as internal standard for quantitative determination of the alkyl methylphosphonic acids (AMPAs). By treating the samples with strong cation-exhange columns on Ba, Ag and H form, the major inorganic anions in water were removed by precipitation prior to the SPE-LC–MS determination. The AMPAs could be determined in tap water with limits of detection of 0.01–0.07 μg L−1 with the [M−H]− ions extracted at an accuracy of ±5 mDa. The within and between assay precisions at analyte concentrations of 5 μg L−1 were 2–3%, and 5–9% relative standard deviation, respectively. The developed method was employed for determination of the AMPAs in three natural waters and a simulated waste water sample, spiked at 5 μg L−1. Recoveries of ethyl-, isopropyl- and pinacolyl methylphosphonic acid were 80–91%, 92–103% and 99–106%, respectively, proving the applicability of the technique for natural waters of various origins. 相似文献

A new micro-extraction technique named low-density magnetofluid dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (LMF-DMMLE) has been developed, which permits a wider range of solvents and can be combined with various detection methods. Comparing with the existing low density solvents micro-extraction methods, no special devices and complicated operations were required during the whole extraction process. Dispersion of the low-density magnetofluid into the aqueous sample is achieved by using vortex mixing, so disperser solvent was unnecessary. The extraction solvent was collected conveniently with an external magnetic field placed outside the extraction container after dispersing. Then, the magnetic nanoparticles were easily removed by adding precipitation reagent under the magnetic field. In order to evaluate the validity of this method, ten organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were chosen as the analytes. Parameters influencing the extraction efficiency such as extraction solvents, volume of extraction solvents, extraction time, and ionic strength were investigated and optimized. Under the optimized conditions, this method showed high extraction efficiency with low limits of detection of 1.8–8.4 ng L−1, good linearity in the range of 0.05–10.00 μg L−1 and the precisions were in the range of 1.3–9.6% (RSD, n = 5). Finally, this method was successfully applied in the determination of OCPs in real water samples. 相似文献

A restricted access media–molecularly imprinted polymer (RAM–MIP) for cyclobarbital has been developed for selective extraction of antiepileptics in river water samples. The RAM–MIP was prepared using 4-vinylpyridine and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a functional monomer and cross-linker, respectively, by a multi-step swelling and polymerization method followed by a surface modification technique. The RAM–MIP for cyclobarbital showed molecular recognition abilities for phenobarbital, amobarbital and phenytoin as well as cyclobarbital. Thus, selective analysis of antiepileptics in river water samples was attained with RAM–MIP extraction followed by column-switching liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. The concentrations of phenobarbital and phenytoin in river water samples were about 15 and 4 ng/L, respectively, while that of amobarbital was below the limit of quantitation. 相似文献

A method has been developed for quantitative determination of carbonyl disinfection by-products (DBP) from aqueous samples by derivatization with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine combined with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem mass spectrometry (MS-MS). The effect of excess of derivatization reagent and derivatization time, the effect of buffer and dry-gas temperature in the ESI process, and the effect of focus potential and collision energy in MS measurement are shown. Major fragment ions for compound identification on the basis of collision-induced dissociation (CID) mass spectra (MS) are given, as are common fragments for screening analyses by MS experiments such as the use of precursor ion scans. Detection limits in the microg x L(-1) range could be achieved by selected ion monitoring measurements without sample preconcentration. Solid-phase extraction improved the sensitivity by a factor of 25 to 250. The applicability of the method is illustrated by DBP analyses of samples from outdoor swimming pools after chlorination. Several carbonyl compounds, e.g. aldehydes, ketones, hydroxybenzaldehyde, and dicarbonyl compounds were identified. 相似文献

Hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC)–electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) was evaluated for the analysis of tributyltin (TBT) and triphenyltin (TPT) in water samples. Separation was performed in isocratic mode on an Atlantis HILIC silica (2.1 mm × 150 mm, 5 μm) column with a mobile phase of acetonitrile–0.1% aqueous HCOOH (86:14, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min. Under optimum conditions, limits of detection for TBT and TPT were 10 and 20 pg injected onto the column, respectively. The extraction of triorganotin compounds from seawater samples was carried out using a polymer-based solid phase extraction cartridge of mixed modes with reversed-phase and weak anion exchange. Tributyltin-d27 chloride and triphenyltin-d15 chloride were used as internal standards. The relative standard deviations for the analysis were less than 4%. Using the proposed method, it was possible to analyze concentrations of TPT and TBT in seawater at ppt levels. 相似文献

Levetiracetam is one of the new generation anti–epileptic agents (also known as anticonvulsants or antiseizure drugs). Following its approval for marketing in 2000, levetiracetam has been widely used in the treatment of epilepsy due to its broad spectrum effects. One of the advantages of this antiseizure drug is its rapid and complete absorption after oral administration. It has also minimal drug–drug and food interactions, and shows more than 95% bioavailability. The determination of levetiracetam in various samples is carried out using several analytical methods including HPLC–based methods. HPLC–based methods are used for different pharmaceutical analyses and play an important role in drug monitoring during patient follow–ups. This review provides a summary of the HPLC–based methods used in the determination and quantification of levetiracetam in biological fluids and pharmaceutical preparations. 相似文献

In this work, a rapid, simple and efficient homogeneous liquid–liquid microextraction via flotation assistance (HLLME-FA) method was developed based on applying low density organic solvents without no centrifugation. For the first time, a special extraction cell was designed to facilitate collection of the low-density solvent extraction in the determination of four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in water samples followed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID). The effect of different variables on the extraction efficiency was studied simultaneously using experimental design. The variables of interest in the HLLME-FA were selected as extraction and homogeneous solvent volumes, ionic strength and extraction time. Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to investigate the optimum conditions of all the variables. Using optimized variables in the extraction process, for all target PAHs, the detection limits, the precisions and the linearity of the method were found in the range of 14–41 μg L−1, 3.7–10.3% (RSD, n = 3) and 50–1000 μg L−1, respectively. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of four target PAHs in the water samples, and satisfactory results were obtained. 相似文献
