The synthesis and structure determination of an alkynyl‐protected Pt‐doped Ag superatom nanocluster, [PtAg42(C≡CC6H4CH3)28](SbF6)6 (1) , are reported. The metallic core of this cluster can be viewed as a concentric three‐shell Russian doll comprising Pt@Ag12@Ag30, in which the missing icosidodecahedral Ag30 shell and a new structural unit, M43, have been observed. On the surface of 1 , 28 alkynyl groups and 4 SbF6 anions were found co‐protecting it. The protective role of SbF6 in nanoclusters is unprecedented. Moreover, of the 28 alkynyl ligands, 12 are connected not only with the outermost Ag30 shell, but also the inner Ag12 shell through the twelve pentagonal faces of the outermost icosidodecahedral Ag30 shell. Overall, by determining the crystal structure of 1 , we discovered the missing icosidodecahedral Ag30 shell and the protective effect of SbF6 anions and demonstrated a novel M43 structural unit and the unique penetrability of pentagonal faces.  相似文献

Ligand‐protected gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) have emerged as a new class of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) luminophores for their interesting catalytic and emission properties, although their quantum yield (ΦECL) in aqueous medium is low with a poor mechanistic understanding of the ECL process. Now it is shown that drying AuNCs on electrodes enabled both enhanced electrochemical excitation by an electrocatalytic effect, and enhanced emission by aggregation‐induced ECL (AIECL) for 6‐aza‐2‐thiothymine (ATT) protected AuNCs with triethylamine (TEA) as a coreactant. The dried ATT‐AuNCs/TEA system resulted in highly stable visual ECL with a ΦECL of 78 %, and a similar enhancement was also achieved with methionine‐capped AuNCs. The drying enabled dual‐enhancement mechanism has solved a challenging mechanistic problem for AuNC ECL probes, and can guide further rational design of ECL emitters.  相似文献

The assembly of atomically precise metal nanoclusters offers exciting opportunities to gain fundamental insights into the hierarchical assembly of nanoparticles. However, it is still challenging to control the assembly of individual nanoclusters at a molecular or atomic level. Herein, we report the dimeric assembly of Au25(PET)18 (PET=2‐phenylethanethiol), where two Au25(PET)18 monomers are bridged together by two Ag atoms to form the Ag2Au50(PET)36 dimer. The Ag2Au50(PET)36 dimer is a unique mesomer, which has not been found in any other chiral metal nanoclusters. Furthermore, the Ag2Au50(PET)36 dimer is distinct from the Au25(PET)18 monomer in its optical, electronic, and catalytic properties. This study is expected to provide a feasible strategy to precisely modulate the assembly of metal nanoclusters with controllable structures and properties.  相似文献

A deep understanding on the luminescence property of aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) featured metal nanoclusters (NCs) is highly desired. This paper reports a systematic study on enhancing the luminescence of AIE‐featured Au NCs, which is achieved by Ag doping to engineer the size/structure and aggregation states of the AuI‐thiolate motifs in the NC shell. Moreover, by prolonging the reaction time, the luminescence of the as‐synthesized AuAg NCs could be further tailored from orange to red, which is also due to the variation of the AuI‐thiolate motifs of NCs. This study can facilitate a better understanding of this AIE‐featured luminescent probe and the design of other synthetic routes for this rising family of functional materials.  相似文献

The reaction of new dinuclear gold(I) organometallic complexes containing mesityl ligands and bridging bidentate phosphanes [Au2(mes)2(μ‐LL)] (LL=dppe: 1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphano)ethane 1 a , and water‐soluble dppy: 1,2‐bis(di‐3‐pyridylphosphano)ethane 1 b ) with Ag+ and Cu+ lead to the formation of a family of heterometallic clusters with mesityl bridging ligands of the general formula [Au2M(μ‐mes)2(μ‐LL)][A] (M=Ag, A=ClO4?, LL=dppe 2 a , dppy 2 b ; M=Ag, A=SO3CF3?, LL=dppe 3 a , dppy 3 b ; M=Cu, A=PF6?, LL=dppe 4 a , dppy 4 b ). The new compounds were characterized by different spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry The crystal structures of [Au2(mes)2(μ‐dppy)] ( 1 b ) and [Au2Ag(μ‐mes)2(μ‐dppe)][SO3CF3] ( 3 a ) were determined by a single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study. 3 a in solid state is not a cyclic trinuclear Au2Ag derivative but it gives an open polymeric structure instead, with the {Au2(μ‐dppe)} fragments “linked” by {Ag(μ‐mes)2} units. The very short distances of 2.7559(6) Å (Au? Ag) and 2.9229(8) Å (Au? Au) are indicative of gold–silver (metallophilic) and aurophilic interactions. A systematic study of their luminescence properties revealed that all compounds are brightly luminescent in solid state, at room temperature (RT) and at 77 K, or in frozen DMSO solutions with lifetimes in the microsecond range and probably due to the self‐aggregation of [Au2M(μ‐mes)2(μ‐LL)]+ units (M=Ag or Cu; LL=dppe or dppy) into an extended chain structure, through Au? Au and/or Au? M metallophilic interactions, as that observed for 3 a . In solid state the heterometallic Au2M complexes with dppe ( 2 a – 4 a ) show a shift of emission maxima (from ca. 430 to the range of 520‐540 nm) as compared to the parent dinuclear organometallic product 1 a while the complexes with dppy ( 2 b–4 b ) display a more moderate shift (505 for 1 b to a max of 563 nm for 4 b ). More importantly, compound [Au2Ag(μ‐mes)2(μ‐dppy)]ClO4 ( 2 b ) resulted luminescent in diluted DMSO solution at room temperature. Previously reported compound [Au2Cl2(μ‐LL)] (LL dppy 5 b ) was also studied for comparative purposes. The antimicrobial activity of 1–5 and Ag[A] (A=ClO4?, SO3CF3?) against Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria and yeast was evaluated. Most tested compounds displayed moderate to high antibacterial activity while heteronuclear Au2M derivatives with dppe ( 2 a – 4 a ) were the more active (minimum inhibitory concentration 10 to 1 μg mL?1). Compounds containing silver were ten times more active to Gram‐negative bacteria than the parent dinuclear compound 1 a or silver salts. Au2Ag compounds with dppy ( 2 b , 3 b ) were also potent against fungi.  相似文献

Synthesis of atom‐precise alloy nanoclusters with uniform composition is challenging when the alloying atoms are similar in size (for example, Ag and Au). A galvanic exchange strategy has been devised to produce a compositionally uniform [Ag24Au(SR)18]? cluster (SR: thiolate) using a pure [Ag25(SR)18]? cluster as a template. Conversely, the direct synthesis of Ag24Au cluster leads to a mixture of [Ag25?xAux(SR)18]?, x=1–8. Mass spectrometry and crystallography of [Ag24Au(SR)18]? reveal the presence of the Au heteroatom at the Ag25 center, forming Ag24Au. The successful exchange of the central Ag of Ag25 with Au causes perturbations in the Ag25 crystal structure, which are reflected in the absorption, luminescence, and ambient stability of the particle. These properties are compared with those of Ag25 and Ag24Pd clusters with same ligand and structural framework, providing new insights into the modulation of cluster properties with dopants at the single‐atom level.  相似文献

Atomically precise polyoxometalate–Ag2S core–shell nanoparticles were generated in a top‐down approach under solvothermal conditions and structurally confirmed by X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction as an interesting core–shell structure comprising an in situ generated Mo6O228? polyoxometalate core and a mango‐like Ag58S38 shell. This result demonstrates the possibility to integrate polyoxometalate and Ag2S nanoparticles into a core–shell heteronanostructure with precisely controlled atomical compositions of both core and shell.  相似文献

A 23‐gold‐atom nanocluster was prepared by NaBH4‐mediated reduction of a solution of PhC?CAu and Ph3PAuSbF6 in CH2Cl2. The cluster composition was determined to be [Au23(PhC?C)9(Ph3P)6]2+ and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction revealed that the cluster has an unprecedented Au17 kernel protected by three PhC2‐Au‐C2(Ph)‐Au‐C2Ph motifs and six Ph3P groups. The Au17 core can be viewed as the fusion of two Au10 units sharing a Au3 triangle. Electronic structure analysis from DFT calculations suggests that the stability of this unusual 12‐electron cluster is a result of the splitting of the superatomic 1D orbitals under D3h symmetry of the Au17 kernel. The discovery and determination of the structure of the Au23 cluster demonstrates the versatility of the alkynyl ligand in leading to the formation of new cluster compounds.  相似文献

An alkynyl‐protected gold nanocluster [Au24(C?CPh)14(PPh3)4](SbF6)2 has been prepared by a direct reduction method. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction reveals that the molecular structure contains a Au22 core that is made of two Au13‐centered cuboctahedra that share a square face. Two staple‐like PhC?C? Au? C?CPh motifs are located around the center of the rod‐like Au22 core. This Au24 nanocluster is highly emissive in the near‐infrared region with λmax=925 nm and the nature of the HOMO–LUMO transition is investigated by time‐dependent DFT calculations.  相似文献

Herein, we report the synthesis and atomic structure of the cluster‐assembled [Au60Se2(Ph3P)10(SeR)15]+ material. Five icosahedral Au13 building blocks from a closed gold ring with Au–Se–Au linkages. Interestingly, two Se atoms (without the phenyl tail) locate in the center of the cluster, stabilized by the Se‐(Au)5 interactions. The ring‐like nanocluster is unprecedented in previous experimental and theoretical studies of gold nanocluster structures. In addition, our optical and electrochemical studies show that the electronic properties of the icosahedral Au13 units still remain unchanged in the penta‐twinned Au60 nanocluster, and this new material might be a promising in optical limiting material. This work offers a basis for deep understanding on controlling the cluster‐assembled materials for tailoring their functionalities.  相似文献

Three new NPI–BODIPY dyads 1 – 3 (NPI=1,8‐naphthalimide, BODIPY=boron‐dipyrromethene) were synthesized, characterized, and studied. The NPI and BODIPY moieties in these dyads are electronically separated by oxoaryl bridges, and the compounds only differ structurally with respect to methyl substituents on the BODIPY fluorophore. The NPI and BODIPY moieties retain their optical features in molecular dyads 1 – 3 . Dyads 1–3 show dual emission in solution originating from the two separate fluorescent units. The variations of the dual emission in these compounds are controlled by the structural flexibilities of the systems. Dyads 1 – 3 , depending on their molecular flexibilities, show considerably different spectral shapes and dissimilar intensity ratios of the two emission bands. The dyads also show significant aggregation‐induced emission switching (AIES) on formation of nano‐aggregates in THF/H2O with changes in emission color from green to red. Whereas the flexible and aggregation‐prone compound 1 shows AIES, rigid systems with less favorable intermolecular interactions (i.e., 2 and 3 ) show aggregation‐induced quenching of emission. Correlations of the emission intensity and structural flexibility were found to be reversed in solution and aggregated states. Photophysical and structural investigations suggested that intermolecular interactions (e.g., π–π stacking) play a major role in controlling the emission of these compounds in the aggregated state.  相似文献

Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) provides an efficient strategy to synthesize highly luminescent metal nanoclusters (NCs), however, rational control of emission energy and intensity of metal NCs is still challenging. This communication reveals the impact of surface AuI‐thiolate motifs on the AIE properties of Au NCs, by employing a series of water‐soluble glutathione (GSH)‐coordinated Au complexes and NCs as a model ([Au10SR10], [Au15SR13], [Au18SR14], and [Au25SR18]?, SR=thiolate ligand). Spectroscopic investigations show that the emission wavelength of Au NCs is adjustable from visible to the near‐infrared II (NIR‐II) region by controlling the length of the AuI‐SR motifs on the NC surface. Decreasing the length of AuI‐SR motifs also changes the origin of cluster luminescence from AIE‐type phosphorescence to Au0‐core‐dictated fluorescence. This effect becomes more prominent when the degree of aggregation of Au NCs increases in solution.  相似文献

We report supracolloidal self‐assembly of atomically precise and strictly monodisperse gold nanoclusters involving p‐mercaptobenzoic acid ligands (Au102pMBA44) under aqueous conditions into hexagonally packed monolayer‐thick two‐dimensional facetted colloidal crystals (thickness 2.7 nm) and their bending to closed shells leading to spherical capsids (d ca. 200 nm), as controlled by solvent conditions. The 2D colloidal assembly is driven in template‐free manner by the spontaneous patchiness of the pMBA ligands around the Au102pMBA44 nanoclusters preferably towards equatorial plane, thus promoting inter‐nanocluster hydrogen bonds and high packing to planar sheets. More generally, the findings encourage to explore atomically precise nanoclusters towards highly controlled colloidal self‐assemblies.  相似文献

Luminescent metal clusters show promise for applications in imaging and sensing. However, promoting emission from metal clusters at room temperature is a challenging task owing to the lack of an efficient approach to suppress the nonradiative decay process in metal cores. We report herein that the addition of a silver atom into a metal interstice of the radarlike thiolated silver cluster [Ag27(StBu)14(S)2(CF3COO)9(DMAc)4]?DMAc ( NC1 , DMAc=dimethylacetamide), which is non‐emissive under ambient conditions, produced another silver cluster [Ag28(AdmS)14(S)2(CF3COO)10(H2O)4] ( NC2 ) that displayed bright green room‐temperature photoluminescence aided by the new ligand 1‐adamantanethiol (AdmSH). The 28th Ag atom, which hardly affects the geometrical and electronic structures of the Ag–S skeleton, triggered the emission of green light as a result of the rigidity of the cluster structure.  相似文献

The controlled synthesis and structure determination of a bimetallic nanocluster Au57Ag53(C≡CPh)40Br12 (Au57Ag53) is presented. The metal core has a four‐shell Au2M3@Au34@Ag51 @Au20 (M=1/3 Au+2/3 Ag) architecture. In contrast to the previously reported large nanoclusters that have highly symmetric kernel structures, the metal atoms in Au57Ag53 are arranged in an irregular manner with C1 symmetry. This cluster exhibits excellent thermal stability and is robust under oxidative or basic conditions. The silver precursors play a key role in dictating the structures of the nanoclusters, which suggests the importance of the counteranions used.  相似文献

Soluble short single‐walled carbon nanotubes in aerated D2O emit in the near‐infrared (NIR) region (see picture) with a quantum yield of (3.9±0.5) ×10?3 and a half‐life of 7.65 μs. This emission is quenched by electron‐ acceptor molecules.

Two heteroctanuclear Au4Ag4 cluster complexes of 4,5-diethynylacridin-9-one (H2L) were prepared through the self-assembly reactions of [Au(tht)2](CF3SO3), Ag(tht)(CF3SO3), H2L and PPh3 or PPh2Py (2-(diphenylphosphino)pyridine). The Au4Ag4 cluster consists of a [Au4L4]4− and four [Ag(PPh3)]+ or [Ag(PPh2Py)]+ units with Au4L4 framework exhibiting a twisted paper clip structure. In CH2Cl2 solutions at ambient temperature, both compounds show ligand fluorescence at ca. 463 nm as well as phosphorescence at 650 nm for 1 and 630 nm for 2 resulting from admixture of 3IL (intraligand) of L ligand, 3LMCT (from L ligand to Au4Ag4) and 3MC (metal-cluster) triplet states. Crystals or crystalline powders manifest bright yellow-green phosphorescence with vibronic-structured emission bands at 530 (568sh) nm for complex 1 and 536 (576sh) nm for complex 2. Upon mechanical grinding, yellow-green emission in the crystalline state is dramatically converted to red luminescence centered at ca. 610 nm with a drastic redshift of the emission after crystal packing is destroyed.  相似文献

Luminescent metal nanoclusters (NCs) are emerging as a new class of functional materials that have rich physicochemical properties and wide potential applications. In recent years, it has been found that some metal NCs undergo aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) and an interesting fluorescence‐to‐phosphorescence (F‐P) switching in solutions. However, insights of both the AIE and the F‐P switching remain largely unknown. Now, gelation of water soluble, atomically precise Ag9 NCs is achieved by the addition of antisolvent. Self‐assembly of Ag9 NCs into entangled fibers was confirmed, during which AIE was observed together with an F‐P switching occurring within a narrow time scale. Structural evaluation indicates the fibers are highly ordered. The self‐assembly of Ag9 NCs and their photoluminescent property are thermally reversible, making the metal–organic gels good candidates for luminescent ratiometric thermometers.  相似文献

Light‐emitting Mn‐doped semiconductor nanocrystals have been extensively studied for the last three decades for their intense and stable Mn d–d emission. In principle, this emission should be fixed at 585 nm (yellow), but recent studies have shown that the emission can be widely tuned even to 650 nm (red). This is a spectacular achievement as this would make Mn‐doped nanocrystals efficient and tunable light emitters. Keeping these developments in view, the chemistry of the synthesis of these materials, their photophysical processes and the expected origins of their red emission are summarized in this Minireview. All the related important studies from 1992 onwards are chronologically discussed, and one particular case is elaborated on in detail. As these materials are potentially important for biology, and photovoltaic, sensing and light‐emitting devices, this Minireview is expected to help researchers investigating the chemistry, physics and applications of these materials.  相似文献
