将Yakhot和Orszag提出的RNGk-ε模型推广应用于半封闭狭缝冲击射流场的数值模拟,以评价该模型对这种复杂湍流的预测能力。将计算得到的流场平均速度分布、湍流强度分布和流函数分布与标准k—ε模型的预测结果以及相应的实验数据进行了比较,结果表明:RNGk—ε模型的预测结果总体上要好于标准k—ε模型,但与实验值相比,所有预测结果都还存在不同程度的误差,尤其是近壁区和滞止点较远下游处的湍流强度分布。说明RNG模型虽然已在某些湍流的预测中取得了一定的成功,但要定量准确地预测冲击射流场,还必须针对其流动特征对模型加以改进。 相似文献

Direct numerical simulation(DNS) of spatially developing round turbulent jet flow with Reynolds number 4,700 was carried out.
Over 20 million grid points were used in this simulation. Fully compressible three-dimensional Navier–Stokes equations were
solved. High order explicit spatial difference schemes and Runge–Kutta time integration scheme were used to calculate derivatives
and time marching, respectively. Non-reflecting boundary conditions and exit zone techniques were adopted. Some refined computational
grids were used in order to capture the smallest turbulent structures near the centerline of the jet. Low level disturbance
were imposed on the jet inflow velocity to trigger the developing of turbulence. Turbulent statistics such as mean velocity,
Reynolds stresses, third order velocity moments were obtained and compared with experimental data. One-dimensional velocity
autospectra was also calculated. The inertial region where the spectra decays according to the k − 5/3 was observed. The quantitative profiles of mean velocity and all of the third order velocity moments which were difficult
to measure via experimental techniques were presented here in detail. The jet flow was proven to be close to fully self-similar
around 19 jet diameters downstream of jet exit. The statistic data and revealed flow feature obtained in this paper can provide

A linear eddy model for subgrid mixing and combustion has been coupled to a large eddy simulation of the turbulent nonpremixed piloted jet flame (Sandia Flame D). For the combustion reaction, simplified, single-step, irreversible, Arrhenius kinetics are used. The large scale and the subgrid structure of the flow are compared with experimental observations and, where appropriate, with a flamelet model of the flame. The main objective of this work is to demonstrate the feasibility of the LES-LEM approach for determining the structure of the subgrid scalar dissipation rate and the turbulence-chemistry interactions. The results for the large- and subgrid-scale structure of the flow show a reasonable agreement with the experimental observations. 相似文献

In this numerical study, an algebraic flame surface wrinkling (AFSW) reaction submodel based on the progress variable approach is implemented in the large-eddy simulation (LES) context and validated against the triangular stabilized bluff body flame configuration measurements i.e. in VOLVO test rig. The quantitative predictability of the AFSW model is analyzed in comparison with another well validated turbulent flame speed closure (TFC) combustion model in order to help assess the behaviour of the present model and to further help improve the understanding of the flow and flame dynamics. Characterization of non-reacting (or cold) and reacting flows are performed using various subgrid scale models for consistent grid size variation with 300,000 (coarse), 1.2 million (intermediate) and 2.4 million (fine) grid cells. For non-reacting flows at inlet velocity of 17?m/s and inlet temperature 288?K, coarse grid leads to over prediction of turbulence quantities due to low dissipation at the early stage of flow development behind the bluff body that convects downstream eventually polluting the resulting solution. The simulated results with the intermediate (and fine) grid for mean flow and turbulence quantities, and the vortex shedding frequency (fs) closely match experimental data. For combusting flows for lean propane/air mixtures at 35?m/s and 600?K, the vortex shedding frequency increase threefold compared with cold scenario. The predicted results of mean, rms velocities and reaction progress variable are generally in good agreement with experimental data. For the coarse grid the combustion predictions show a shorter recirculation region due to higher turbulent burning rate. Finally, both cold and reacting LES data are analyzed for uncertainty in the solution using two quality assessment techniques: two-grid estimator by Celik, and model and grid variation by Klein. For both approaches, the resolved turbulent kinetic energy is used to estimate the grid quality and error assessment. The quality assessment reveals that the cold flows are well resolved even on the intermediate mesh, while for the reacting flows even the fine mesh is locally not sufficient in the flamelet region. The Klein approach estimates that depending on the recirculation region in cold scenario both numerical and model errors rise near the bluff-body region, while in combusting flows these errors are significant behind the stabilizing point due to preheating of unburned mixture and reaction heat release. The total error mainly depends on the numerical error and the influence of model error is low for this configuration. 相似文献

A newly developed fractal dynamic SGS (FDSGS) combustion model and a scale self-recognition mixed (SSRM) SGS stress model are evaluated along with other SGS combustion, scalar flux and stress models in a priori and a posteriori manners using DNS data of a hydrogen-air turbulent plane jet premixed flame. A posteriori tests reveal that the LES using the FDSGS combustion model can predict the combustion field well in terms of mean temperature distributions and peak positions in the transverse distributions of filtered reaction progress variable fluctuations. A priori and a posteriori tests of the scalar flux models show that a model proposed by Clark et al. accurately predicts the counter-gradient transport as well as the gradient diffusion, and introduction of the model of Clark et al. into the LES yields slightly better predictions of the filtered progress variable fluctuations than that of a gradient diffusion model. Evaluations of the stress models reveal that the LES with the SSRM model predicts the velocity fluctuations well compared to that with the Smagorinsky model. 相似文献

The Stochastic Fields approach is an effective way to implement transported Probability Density Function modelling into Large Eddy Simulation of turbulent combustion. In premixed turbulent combustion however, thin flame-like structures arise in the solution of the Stochastic Fields equations that require grid spacing much finer than the filter scale used for the Large Eddy Simulation. The conventional approach of using grid spacing equal to the filter scale yields substantial numerical error, whereas using grid spacing much finer than the filter length scale is computationally-unaffordable for most industrially-relevant combustion systems. A Thickened Stochastic Fields approach is developed in this study in order to provide physically-accurate and numerically-converged solutions of the Stochastic Fields equations with reduced compute time. The Thickened Stochastic Fields formulation bridges between the conventional Stochastic Fields and conventional Thickened-Flame approaches depending on the numerical grid spacing utilised. One-dimensional Stochastic Fields simulations of freely-propagating turbulent premixed flames are used in order to obtain criteria for the thickening factor required, as a function of relevant physical and numerical parameters, and to obtain a model for an efficiency function that accounts for the loss of resolved flame surface area caused by applying the thickening transformation to the Stochastic Fields equations. The Thickened Stochastic Fields formulation is tested by performing LES of a laboratory premixed Bunsen flame. The results demonstrate that the Thickened Stochastic Fields method produces accurate predictions even when using a grid spacing equal to the filter scale. The present development therefore facilitates the accurate application of the Stochastic Fields approach to industrially-relevant combustion systems. 相似文献

The turbulent structure of a submerged axisymmetric impinging jet containing small gas bubbles is studied experimentally under conditions of periodic external excitation. On the basis of measuring the surface-friction pulsatory component in the jet impinging on an obstacle, the effect of the suppression of large-scale eddies at large gas volume fractions is registered. The conditions of resonant growth of coherent structures and the suppression of wide-band turbulence are determined for both the single-phase and the two-phase impinging jet. An analysis of the development of different pulsatory friction components in the impinging-jet gradient region is presented. 相似文献

Compressible subsonic turbulent starting jet with a relatively large Reynolds number of significant practical importance is investigated using large eddy simulation (LES), starting from a smooth contraction nozzle. The computational domain of truncated conical shape is determined through the comparison of the time-averaged numerical solution with the particle imaging velocimetry measurements for the steady jet. It is shown that the starting jet consists of a leading vortex ring followed by a quasi-steady jet, and the instantaneous velocity field exhibits contraction and expansion zones, corresponding to the high pressure (HP) and low pressure (LP) regions formed by the convecting vortex rings, and are related to the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. The thin boundary layer inside the smooth contraction nozzle evolves into a shear layer at the nozzle exit and develops with the downstream penetration of the jet. Using λ 2 criterion, the formation and evolution of the vortical structures are temporally visualized, illustrating distortion of vortex rings into lobed shapes prior to break-down. Rib-shape streamwise vortex filaments exist in the braid region between a pair of consecutive vortex rings due to secondary instabilities. Finally, formation and dynamics of hairpin vortices in the shear layer is identified. 相似文献

A new turbulent injection procedure dedicated to fully compressible direct numerical simulation (DNS) or large eddy simulation (LES) solvers is proposed. To avoid the appearance of spurious acoustic waves, this method is based on an accurate tracking of the turbulent structures crossing the boundary at the inlet of the domain. A finite difference DNS solver has been coupled with a spectral simulation in which a statistically stationary homogeneous turbulence evolves to provide fluctuating boundary conditions.A new turbulence forcing method, dedicated to spectral solvers, has been developed as well to control the major properties of the injected flow (turbulent kinetic energy, dissipation rate and integral length scale). One-dimensional Navier–Stokes characteristic boundary conditions extended to non-stationary flows are coupled with the injection procedure to evaluate is potential in four various configurations: spatially decaying turbulence, dispersion of vaporizing sprays, propagation of one- and two-phase V-shape turbulent flames. 相似文献

In this article, a numerical investigation is performed on flow and heat transfer of confined impinging slot jet, with a mixture of water and Al2O3 nanoparticles as the working fluid. Two-dimensional turbulent flow is considered and a constant temperature is applied on the impingement surface. The k ? ω turbulence model is used for the turbulence computations. Two-phase mixture model is implemented to study such a flow field. The governing equations are solved using the finite volume method. In order to consider the effect of obstacle angle on temperature fields in the channel, the numerical simulations were performed for different obstacle angles of 0° ? 60°. Also different geometrical parameters, volume fractions and Reynolds numbers have been considered to study the behavior of the system in terms of stagnation point, average and local Nusselt number and stream function contours. The results showed that the intensity and size of the vortex structures depend on jet- impingement surface distance ratio (H/W) and volume fraction. The maximum Nusselt number occurs at the stagnation point with the highest values at about H/W = 1. Increasing obstacle angle, from 15° to 60°, enhances the heat transfer rate. It was also revealed that the minimum value of average Nusselt number occurs in higher H/W ratios with decreasing the channel length. 相似文献

Large-eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent combustion with premixed flamelets is investigated in this paper. The approach solves
the filtered Navier–Stokes equations supplemented with two transport equations, one for the mixture fraction and another for
a progress variable. The LES premixed flamelet approach is tested for two flows: a premixed preheated Bunsen flame and a partially
premixed diffusion flame (Sandia Flame D). In the first case, we compare the LES with a direct numerical simulation (DNS).
Four non-trivial models for the chemical source term are considered for the Bunsen flame: the standard presumed beta-pdf model,
and three new propositions (simpler than the beta-pdf model): the filtered flamelet model, the shift-filter model and the
shift-inversion model. A priori and a posteriori tests are performed for these subgrid reaction models. In the present preheated
Bunsen flame, the filtered flamelet model gives the best results in a priori tests. The LES tests for the Bunsen flame are
limited to a case in which the filter width is only slightly larger than the flame thickness. According to the a posteriori
tests the three models (beta-pdf, filtered flamelet and shift-inversion) show more or less the same results as the trivial
model, in which subgrid reaction effects are ignored, while the shift-filter model leads to worse results. Since LES needs
to resolve the large turbulent eddies, the LES filter width is bounded by a maximum. For the present Bunsen flame this means
that the filter width should be of the order of the flame thickness or smaller. In this regime, the effects of subgrid reaction
and subgrid flame wrinkling turn out to be quite modest. The LES-results of the second case (Sandia Flame D) are compared
to experimental data. Satisfactory agreement is obtained for the main species. Comparison is made between different eddy-viscosity
models for the subgrid turbulence, and the Smagorinsky eddy-viscosity is found to give worse results than eddy-viscosities
that are not dominated by the mean shear.

In order to simulate the turbulent combustion process occurring in spark-ignition (IC) engines, it is necessary to provide
suitable and numerically economical models, the latter being particularly important in the application to industrial problems.
Moreover, these models must deliver sufficiently accurate results for the unsteady operation of spark combustion engines,
concerning variable geometries, temperatures, pressures and charge development in different configurations. In this work different
turbulent combustion models for premixed hydrocarbon combustion are compared with respect to their ability to accurately predict
the propagation of turbulent perfectly premixed flames.
As a first configuration a cylinder of constant volume was studied. Transient calculations were used to simulate the propagation
of the turbulent flame and to evaluate the resulting turbulent burning velocity. These calculations were performed for a perfect
mixture of air and hydrocarbons at stoichiometric mixture and different initial conditions concerning pressure, temperature
and turbulence intensity. As a second configuration a stationary turbulent bunsen-type flame with methane fuel was used to
validate the turbulent combustion model of [Lindstedt and Vaos, Combust. Flame 116 (1999) 461] at different pressures. Calculated results were then compared to experimental data of [Kobayashi, Tamura,
Maruta and Niioka. In: Proceedings of the 26th Symposium on Combustion, 1996, p. 389] and show excellent agreement for the turbulent burning velocity at several pressure levels using only a single

The results of modeling a turbulent supersonic jet at M = 5 using large-eddy simulation (LES) are presented. The structural features of turbulence formed in this flow are analyzed. The possibilities of the large-eddy simulation method and the complexities of simulation of the compressibility effects in jet flows at high Mach numbers are considered. Such features of the supersonic jet as the local turbulent shocklets and Mach waves are reproduced numerically. It is shown that in the neighborhood of the jet the trajectories of ejection flow are located along the front of Mach waves. Anisotropic turbulent structures whose longitudinal scale is greater than the transverse scale by an order of magnitude are revealed in the jet. An estimate of the baroclinic effects shows their weak influence on the vorticity generation in the jet flow considered. 相似文献

Turbulent opposed jet burners are an excellent test case for combustion research and model development due to the burners’
compactness, relative simplicity, and the good optical access they provide. The flow-field in the flame region depends strongly
on the turbulence generation inside the nozzles, so that realistic flow simulations can only be achieved if the flow inside
the nozzles is represented correctly, which must be verified by comparison to suitable experimental data. This paper presents
detailed particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements of the flow issuing from the turbulence generating plates (TGP) inside
a glass nozzle. The resulting data is analyzed in terms of first and second moments, time-series, frequency spectra and phase
averages. The measurements show how individual high velocity jets emerging from the TGP interact and recirculation zones are
formed behind the solid parts of the TGP. Vortex shedding is observed in the jet’s shear layer were high levels of turbulent
kinetic energy are generated. Time series measurements revealed periodic pulsations of the individual jets and implied a coupling
between adjacent jets. The peak frequencies were found to be a function of the Reynolds-number. 相似文献

Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of a hot combustion product jet interacting with a lean premixed hydrogen-air coflow are conducted to fundamentally investigate turbulent jet ignition (TJI) in a three-dimensional configuration. TJI is an efficient method for initiating and controlling combustion in ultra-lean combustion systems. Fully compressible gas dynamics and species equations are solved with high order finite difference methods. The hydrogen-air reaction is simulated with a reliable detailed chemical kinetics mechanism. The physical processes involved in the TJI-assisted combustion are investigated by considering the flame heat release, temperature, species concentrations, vorticity, and Baroclinc torque. The complex turbulent flame and flow structures are delineated in three main: i) hot product jet, ii) burned-mixed, and iii) flame zones. In the TJI-assisted combustion, the flow structures and the flame features such as flame speed, temperature, and species distribution are found to be quite different than those in “standard” turbulent premixed combustion due to the existence of a high energy turbulent hot product jet. The flow structures and statistics are also found to be different than those normally seen in non-isothermal non-reacting jets. 相似文献

We perform a finely resolved Large-eddy simulation to study coherent vortical structures populating the initial (near-nozzle) zone of a pipe jet at the Reynolds number of 5300. In contrast to ‘top-hat’ jets featured by Kelvin-Helmholtz rings with the non-dimensional frequency S t≈0.3?0.6, no high-frequency dominant mode is observed in the near field of a jet issuing from a fully-developed pipe flow. Instead, in shear layers we observe a relatively wide peak in the power spectrum within the low-frequency range (S t≈0.14) corresponding to the propagating helical waves entering with the pipe flow. This is confirmed by the Fourier transform with respect to the azimuthal angle and the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition complemented with the linear stability analysis revealing that this low-frequency motion is not connected to the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. We demonstrate that the azimuthal wavenumbers m=1?5 contain the most of the turbulent kinetic energy and that a common form of an eigenmode is a helical vortex rotating around the axis of symmetry. Small and large timescales are identified corresponding to “fast” and “slow” rotating modes. While the “fast” modes correspond to background turbulence and stochastically switch from co- to counter-rotation, the “slow” modes are due to coherent helical structures which are long-lived and have low angular velocities, in agreement with the previously described spectral peak at low S t. 相似文献

In this work, the turbulent mixing of a confined coaxial jet in air is investigated by means of simultaneous particle image velocimetry and planar laser induced fluorescence of the acetone seeded flow injection. The jet is injected into a turbulent duct flow at atmospheric pressure through a 90 ° pipe bend. Measurements are conducted in a small scale windtunnel at constant mass flow rates and three modes of operation: isothermal steady jet injection at a Dean number of 20000 (R e d =32000), pulsed isothermal injection at a Womersley number of 65 and steady injection at elevated jet temperatures of ΔT=50 K and ΔT=100 K. The experiment is aimed at providing statistically converged quantities of velocity, mass fraction, turbulent fluctuations and turbulent mass flux at several downstream locations. Stochastic error convergence over the number of samples is assessed within the outer turbulent shear layer. From 3000 samples the statistical error of time-averaged velocity and mass fraction is below 1 % while the error of Reynolds shear stress and turbulent mass flux components is in the of range 5-6 %. Profiles of axial velocity and turbulence intensity immediately downstream of the bend exit are in good agreement with hot-wire measurements from literature. During pulsed jet injection strong asymmetric growing of shear layer vortices lead to a skewed mass fraction profile in comparison with steady injection. Phase averaging of single shot PLIF-PIV measurements allows to track the asymmetric shear layer vortex evolvement and flow breakdown during a pulsation cycle with a resolution of 10°. Steady injection with increased jet temperature supports mixing downstream from 6 nozzle diameters onward. 相似文献
