The aim of this paper is to study the problem of which solvable Lie groups admit an Einstein left invariant metric. The space \({\mathcal{N}}\) of all nilpotent Lie brackets on \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) parametrizes a set of (n + 1)-dimensional rank-one solvmanifolds \({\{S_{\mu}:\mu\in\mathcal{N}\}}\), containing the set of all those which are Einstein in that dimension. The moment map for the natural GL n -action on \({\mathcal{N}}\), evaluated at \({\mu\in\mathcal{N}}\), encodes geometric information on S μ and suggests the use of strong results from geometric invariant theory. For instance, the functional on \({\mathcal{N}}\) whose critical points are precisely the Einstein S μ ’s, is the square norm of this moment map. We use a GL n -invariant stratification for the space \({\mathcal{N}}\) and show that there is a strong interplay between the strata and the Einstein condition on the solvmanifolds S μ . As an application, we obtain criteria to decide whether a given nilpotent Lie algebra can be the nilradical of a rank-one Einstein solvmanifold or not. We find several examples of \({\mathbb{N}}\)-graded (even 2-step) nilpotent Lie algebras which are not. A classification in the 7-dimensional, 6-step case and an existence result for certain 2-step algebras associated to graphs are also given.  相似文献

We discuss the proof of Kazhdan and Lusztig of the equivalence of the Drinfeld category \({\mathcal D}({\mathfrak g},\hbar)\) of \({\mathfrak g}\)-modules and the category of finite dimensional \(U_q{\mathfrak g}\)-modules, \(q=e^{\pi i\hbar}\), for \(\hbar\in{\mathbb C}\setminus{\mathbb Q}^*\). Aiming at operator algebraists the result is formulated as the existence for each \(\hbar\in i{\mathbb R}\) of a normalized unitary 2-cochain \({\mathcal F}\) on the dual \(\hat G\) of a compact simple Lie group G such that the convolution algebra of G with the coproduct twisted by \({\mathcal F}\) is *-isomorphic to the convolution algebra of the q-deformation G q of G, while the coboundary of \({\mathcal F}^{-1}\) coincides with Drinfeld’s KZ-associator defined via monodromy of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations.  相似文献

Let \({\mathcal{M}}\) be a semifinite von Neumann algebra with a faithful, normal, semifinite trace \({\tau}\) and E be a strongly symmetric Banach function space on \({[0,\tau({\bf 1}))}\) . We show that an operator x in the unit sphere of \({E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)}\) is k-extreme, \({k \in {\mathbb{N}}}\) , whenever its singular value function \({\mu(x)}\) is k-extreme and one of the following conditions hold (i) \({\mu(\infty, x) = \lim_{t\to\infty}\mu(t, x) = 0}\) or (ii) \({n(x)\mathcal{M}n(x^*) = 0}\) and \({|x| \geq \mu(\infty, x)s(x)}\) , where n(x) and s(x) are null and support projections of x, respectively. The converse is true whenever \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic. The global k-rotundity property follows, that is if \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic then E is k-rotund if and only if \(E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)\) is k-rotund. As a consequence of the noncommutative results we obtain that f is a k-extreme point of the unit ball of the strongly symmetric function space E if and only if its decreasing rearrangement \({\mu(f)}\) is k-extreme and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty,f)}\) . We conclude with the corollary on orbits Ω(g) and Ω′(g). We get that f is a k-extreme point of the orbit \({\Omega(g),\,g \in L_1 + L_{\infty}}\) , or \({\Omega'(g),\,g \in L_1[0, \alpha),\,\alpha < \infty}\) , if and only if \({\mu(f) = \mu(g)}\) and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty, f)}\) . From this we obtain a characterization of k-extreme points in Marcinkiewicz spaces.  相似文献

If every k-membered subfamily of a family of plane convex bodies has a line transversal, then we say that this family has property T(k). We say that a family \({\mathcal{F}}\) has property \({T-m}\), if there exists a subfamily \({\mathcal{G} \subset \mathcal{F}}\) with \({|\mathcal{F} - \mathcal{G}| \le m}\) admitting a line transversal. Heppes [7] posed the problem whether there exists a convex body K in the plane such that if \({\mathcal{F}}\) is a finite T(3)-family of disjoint translates of K, then m = 3 is the smallest value for which \({\mathcal{F}}\) has property \({T-m}\). In this paper, we study this open problem in terms of finite T(3)-families of pairwise disjoint translates of a regular 2n-gon \({(n \ge 5)}\). We find out that, for \({5 \le n \le 34}\), the family has property \({T - 3}\) ; for \({n \ge 35}\), the family has property \({T - 2}\).  相似文献

We show that symmetric block designs \({\mathcal {D}}=({\mathcal {P}},{\mathcal {B}})\) can be embedded in a suitable commutative group \({\mathfrak {G}}_{\mathcal {D}}\) in such a way that the sum of the elements in each block is zero, whereas the only Steiner triple systems with this property are the point-line designs of \({\mathrm {PG}}(d,2)\) and \({\mathrm {AG}}(d,3)\). In both cases, the blocks can be characterized as the only k-subsets of \(\mathcal {P}\) whose elements sum to zero. It follows that the group of automorphisms of any such design \(\mathcal {D}\) is the group of automorphisms of \({\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal {D}\) that leave \(\mathcal {P}\) invariant. In some special cases, the group \({\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal {D}\) can be determined uniquely by the parameters of \(\mathcal {D}\). For instance, if \(\mathcal {D}\) is a 2-\((v,k,\lambda )\) symmetric design of prime order p not dividing k, then \({\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal {D}\) is (essentially) isomorphic to \(({\mathbb {Z}}/p{\mathbb {Z}})^{\frac{v-1}{2}}\), and the embedding of the design in the group can be described explicitly. Moreover, in this case, the blocks of \(\mathcal {B}\) can be characterized also as the v intersections of \(\mathcal {P}\) with v suitable hyperplanes of \(({\mathbb {Z}}/p{\mathbb {Z}})^{\frac{v-1}{2}}\).  相似文献

It is shown that for any maximal dissipative operator A in some Hilbert space \({\mathcal H}\) , which is the orthogonal sum \({\mathcal H=\mathcal F\oplus \mathcal G}\) of two Hilbert spaces \({\mathcal F,\, \mathcal G}\) with \({{\rm dim}\,\mathcal G < \infty}\) , the compression \({\left. T:=P_\mathcal F\,A\right|_{{\rm dom}\,A\cap\mathcal F}}\) of A to \({\mathcal F}\) is again a maximal dissipative operator in \({\mathcal F}\) .  相似文献

Let \(\mathfrak{q}\)(n) be a simple strange Lie superalgebra over the complex field ?. In a paper by A.Ayupov, K.Kudaybergenov (2016), the authors studied the local derivations on semi-simple Lie algebras over ? and showed the difference between the properties of local derivations on semi-simple and nilpotent Lie algebras. We know that Lie superalgebras are a generalization of Lie algebras and the properties of some Lie superalgebras are similar to those of semi-simple Lie algebras, but \(\mathfrak{p}\)(n) is an exception. In this paper, we introduce the definition of the local superderivation on \(\mathfrak{q}\)(n), give the structures and properties of the local superderivations of \(\mathfrak{q}\)(n), and prove that every local superderivation on \(\mathfrak{q}\)(n), n > 3, is a superderivation.  相似文献

Let \({\mathscr {N}}\) be a 2-step nilpotent Lie algebra endowed with a non-degenerate scalar product \(\langle .\,,.\rangle \), and let \({\mathscr {N}}=V\oplus _{\perp }Z\), where Z is the centre of the Lie algebra and V its orthogonal complement. We study classification of the Lie algebras for which the space V arises as a representation space of the Clifford algebra \({{\mathrm{{\mathrm{Cl}}}}}({\mathbb {R}}^{r,s})\), and the representation map \(J:{{\mathrm{{\mathrm{Cl}}}}}({\mathbb {R}}^{r,s})\rightarrow {{\mathrm{End}}}(V)\) is related to the Lie algebra structure by \(\langle J_zv,w\rangle =\langle z,[v,w]\rangle \) for all \(z\in {\mathbb {R}}^{r,s}\) and \(v,w\in V\). The classification depends on parameters r and s and is completed for the Clifford modules V having minimal possible dimension, that are not necessary irreducible. We find necessary conditions for the existence of a Lie algebra isomorphism according to the range of the integer parameters \(0\le r,s<\infty \). We present a constructive proof for the isomorphism maps for isomorphic Lie algebras and determine the class of non-isomorphic Lie algebras.  相似文献

A linear map \({\phi}\) of operator algebras is said to preserve numerical radius (or to be a numerical radius isometry) if \({w(\phi(A))=w(A)}\) for all A in its domain algebra, where w(A) stands for the numerical radius of A. In this paper, we prove that a surjective linear map \({\phi}\) of the nest algebra \({{\rm Alg}\mathcal N}\) onto itself preserves numerical radius if and only if there exist a unitary U and a complex number ξ of modulus one such that \({\phi(A)= \xi UAU^*}\) for all \({A\in{\rm Alg}\mathcal N}\), or there exist a unitary U, a conjugation J and a complex number ξ of modulus one such that \({\phi(A)=\xi UJA^*JU^*}\) for all \({A\in{\rm Alg}\mathcal N}\).  相似文献

For each even lattice \({\mathcal L}\), there is a canonical way to construct an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra via lattice vertex operator algebra theory, we call this Lie algebra and its subalgebras the Borcherds type Lie algebras associated to \({\mathcal L}\). In this paper, we apply this construction to even lattices arising from representation theory of finite-dimensional associative algebras. This is motivated by the different realizations of Kac-Moody algebras by Borcherds using lattice vertex operators and by Peng-Xiao using Ringel-Hall algebras respectively. For any finite-dimensional algebra \(A\) of finite global dimension, we associate a Borcherds type Lie algebra \(\mathfrak {BL}(A)\) to \(A\). In contrast to the Ringel-Hall Lie algebra approach, \(\mathfrak {BL}(A)\) only depends on the symmetric Euler form or Tits form but not the full representation theory of \(A\). However, our results show that for certain classes of finite-dimensional algebras whose representation theory is ’controlled’ by the Euler bilinear forms or Tits forms, their Borcherds type Lie algebras do have close relations with the representation theory of these algebras. Beyond the class of hereditary algebras, these algebras include canonical algebras, representation-directed algebras and incidence algebras of finite prinjective types.  相似文献

For any grading by an abelian group G on the exceptional simple Lie algebra \(\mathcal {L}\) of type E 6 or E 7 over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, we compute the graded Brauer invariants of simple finite-dimensional modules, thus completing the computation of these invariants for simple finite-dimensional Lie algebras. This yields the classification of finite-dimensional G-graded simple \(\mathcal {L}\)-modules, as well as necessary and sufficient conditions for a finite-dimensional \(\mathcal {L}\)-module to admit a G-grading compatible with the given G-grading on \(\mathcal {L}\).  相似文献

Consider the restriction of an irreducible unitary representation π of a Lie group G to its subgroup H. Kirillov’s revolutionary idea on the orbit method suggests that the multiplicity of an irreducible H-module ν occurring in the restriction π|H could be read from the coadjoint action of H on \(\mathcal {O}^{G} \cap \text {pr}^{-1}({\mathcal {O}}^{H})\), provided π and ν are ‘geometric quantizations’ of a G-coadjoint orbit \(\mathcal {O}^{G}\) and an H-coadjoint orbit \(\mathcal {O}^{H}\), respectively, where \(\text {pr} \colon \sqrt {-1}\mathfrak {g}^{\ast } \to \sqrt {-1}\mathfrak {h}^{\ast }\) is the projection dual to the inclusion \(\mathfrak {h} \subset \mathfrak {g}\) of Lie algebras. Such results were previously established by Kirillov, Corwin and Greenleaf for nilpotent Lie groups. In this article, we highlight specific elliptic orbits \(\mathcal {O}^{G}\) of a semisimple Lie group G corresponding to highest weight modules of scalar type. We prove that the Corwin–Greenleaf number \(\sharp (\mathcal {O}^{G} \cap \text {pr}^{-1}({\mathcal {O}}^{H}))/H\) is either zero or one for any H-coadjoint orbit \(\mathcal {O}^{H}\), whenever (G,H) is a symmetric pair of holomorphic type. Furthermore, we determine the coadjoint orbits \(\mathcal {O}^{H}\) with nonzero Corwin–Greenleaf number. Our results coincide with the prediction of the orbit philosophy, and can be seen as ‘classical limits’ of the multiplicity-free branching laws of holomorphic discrete series representations (Kobayashi [Progr. Math. 2007]).  相似文献

We study nonlinear elliptic equations in divergence form
$$\text {div }{\mathcal A}(x,Du)=\text {div } G.$$
When \({\mathcal A}\) has linear growth in D u, and assuming that \(x\mapsto {\mathcal A}(x,\xi )\) enjoys \(B^{\alpha }_{\frac {n}\alpha , q}\) smoothness, local well-posedness is found in \(B^{\alpha }_{p,q}\) for certain values of \(p\in [2,\frac {n}{\alpha })\) and \(q\in [1,\infty ]\). In the particular case \({\mathcal A}(x,\xi )=A(x)\xi \), G = 0 and \(A\in B^{\alpha }_{\frac {n}\alpha ,q}\), \(1\leq q\leq \infty \), we obtain \(Du\in B^{\alpha }_{p,q}\) for each \(p<\frac {n}\alpha \). Our main tool in the proof is a more general result, that holds also if \({\mathcal A}\) has growth s?1 in D u, 2 ≤ sn, and asserts local well-posedness in L q for each q > s, provided that \(x\mapsto {\mathcal A}(x,\xi )\) satisfies a locally uniform VMO condition.

Let \(\mathcal{A} = \mathbb{F}[x,y]\) be the polynomial algebra on two variables x, y over an algebraically closed field \(\mathbb{F}\) of characteristic zero. Under the Poisson bracket, \(\mathcal{A}\) is equipped with a natural Lie algebra structure. It is proven that the maximal good subspace of \(\mathcal{A}*\) induced from the multiplication of the associative commutative algebra \(\mathcal{A}\) coincides with the maximal good subspace of \(\mathcal{A}*\) induced from the Poisson bracket of the Poisson Lie algebra \(\mathcal{A}\). Based on this, structures of dual Lie bialgebras of the Poisson type are investigated. As by-products, five classes of new infinite-dimensional Lie algebras are obtained.  相似文献

A sufficient criterion for the map \({C_{A, B}(S) = ASB}\) to be supercyclic on certain algebras of operators on Banach spaces is given. If T is an operator satisfying the Supercyclicity Criterion on a Hilbert space H, then the linear map \({C_{T}(V) = TVT^*}\) is shown to be norm-supercyclic on the algebra \({\mathcal{K}(H)}\) of all compact operators, COT-supercyclic on the real subspace \({\mathcal{S}(H)}\) of all self-adjoint operators and weak*-supercyclic on \({\mathcal{L}(H)}\) of all bounded operators on H. Examples including operators of the form \({C_{B_w, F_\mu}}\) are provided, where Bw and \({F_\mu}\) are respectively backward and forward shifts on Banach sequence spaces.  相似文献

Let \({\varphi: \mathbb{P}^N_K\to\mathbb{P}^N_K}\) be a morphism of degree d ≥ 2 defined over a field K that is algebraically closed field and complete with respect to a nonarchimedean absolute value. We prove that a modified Green function \({\hat{g}_\varphi}\) associated to \({\varphi}\) is Hölder continuous on \({\mathbb{P}^N(K)}\) and that the Fatou set \({\mathcal{F}(\varphi)}\) of \({\varphi}\) is equal to the set of points at which \({\hat{g}_\Phi}\) is locally constant. Further, \({\hat{g}_\varphi}\) vanishes precisely on the set of points P such that \({\varphi}\) has good reduction at every point in the forward orbit \({\mathcal{O}_\varphi(P)}\) of P. We also prove that the iterates of \({\varphi}\) are locally uniformly Lipschitz on \({\mathcal{F}(\varphi)}\) .  相似文献

Let α be a C curve in a homogeneous space G/H. For each point x on the curve, we consider the subspace \({S^{\alpha}_k}\) of the Lie algebra \({\mathcal{G}}\) of G consisting of the vectors generating a one parameter subgroup whose orbit through x has contact of order k with α. In this paper, we give various important properties of the sequence of subspaces \({\mathcal{G} \supset S^{\alpha}_1 \supset S^{\alpha}_2 \supset S^{\alpha}_3 \supset \cdots}\) . In particular, we give a stabilization property for certain well-behaved curves. We also describe its relationship to the isotropy subgroup with respect to the contact element of order k associated with α.  相似文献

We calculate the ordinal L p index defined in [3] for Rosenthal’s space X p , \({\ell_p}\) and \({\ell_2}\). We show that an infinite-dimensional subspace of L p \({(2 < p < \infty)}\) non-isomorphic to \({\ell_2}\) embeds in \({\ell_p}\) if and only if its ordinal index is the minimal possible. We also give a sufficient condition for a \({\mathcal{L}_p}\) subspace of \({\ell_p \oplus \ell_2}\) to be isomorphic to X p .  相似文献
