The present paper examines the creation?Cannihilation process of limit cycles in the Rayleigh?CDuffing oscillator with negative linear damping and negative linear stiffness. It is obtained by the perturbation method, in which the number of limit cycles in the Rayleigh?CDuffing oscillator varies with the linear damping and stiffness. Numerical simulations are performed in order to confirm the analytically obtained creation?Cannihilation process of limit cycles. Moreover, we compare the process of limit cycles in the Rayleigh?CDuffing oscillator to that of limit cycles in the van der Pol?CDuffing oscillator. The difference in these oscillator is only in nonlinear forces, which causes a qualitative difference in the creation?Cannihilation processes. 相似文献

The first-passage statistics of Duffing-Rayleigh- Mathieu system under wide-band colored noise excitations is studied by using stochastic averaging method. The motion equation of the original system is transformed into two time homogeneous diffusion Markovian processes of amplitude and phase after stochastic averaging. The diffusion process method for first-passage problem is used and the corresponding backward Kolmogorov equation and Pontryagin equation are constructed and solved to yield the conditional reliability function and mean first-passage time with suitable initial and boundary conditions. The analytical results are confirmed by Monte Carlo simulation. 相似文献

The active control approach generally requires power input to suppress vibrations of structures, while the conventional passive manner often causes waste of energy after transferring vibrations of the primary structure to the auxiliary system. In this work, an innovative control strategy based on energy harvesting for efficiently suppressing the cross-flow-induced vibrations such as galloping is proposed. The novel design facilitates the harvester of not only alleviating the oscillation of the primary structure but also seizing the transferred vibrational energy. An analytical model for the coupled nonlinear dynamical system is established by utilizing the Euler–Lagrange principle and implementing the Galerkin discretization. The impacts of the electrical load resistance and tip mass of the energy harvester on the coupled frequency, damping, and the onset speed of instability of the coupled multi-mode system are investigated in details. The results show that there exists an optimal load resistance for each tip mass which maximizes the onset speed of galloping. For control purposes, it is found that there is a well-defined tip mass of the energy harvester at which the coupled system has the highest onset speed of instability, and hence, the bluff body has the lowest vibration amplitude for all considered load resistances. However, to efficiently harvest energy and control the bluff body, both the tip mass of the energy harvester and electrical load resistance can be accurately determined. 相似文献

In this paper, we aim to investigate the dynamics of a system of Van der Pol–Duffing oscillators with delay coupling. First, taking the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, the stability of the equilibrium, and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Then using the center manifold reduction technique and normal form theory, we give the direction of the Hopf bifurcation. And then by means of the symmetric bifurcation theory for delay differential equations and the representation theory of groups, we claim the bifurcation periodic solution induced by time delay is antiphase locked oscillation. Recently, some new quadrilateral finite elements were successfully developed by the Quadrilateral Area Coordinate (QAC) method.
Compared with those traditional models using isoparametric coordinates, these new models are less sensitive to mesh distortion.
In this paper, a new displacement-based, 4-node 20-DOF (5-DOF per node) quadrilateral bending element based on the first-order
shear deformation theory for analysis of arbitrary laminated composite plates is presented. Its bending part is based on the
element AC-MQ4, a recent-developed high-performance Mindlin-Reissner plate element formulated by QAC method and the generalized
conforming condition method; and its in-plane displacement fields are interpolated by bilinear shape functions in isoparametric
coordinates. Furthermore, the hybrid post-processing procedure, which was firstly proposed by the authors, is employed again
to improve the stress solutions, especially for the transverse shear stresses. The resulting element, denoted as AC-MQ4-LC,
exhibits excellent performance in all linear static and dynamic numerical examples. It demonstrates again that the QAC method,
the generalized conforming condition method, and the hybrid post-processing procedure are efficient tools for developing simple,
effective and reliable finite element models.

It is reasonable to develop models and to investigate the dynamic behaviour of systems composed of cables since cable vibration can have an important effect on the motion of these mechanical systems. This paper deals with the application of the nonlinear formulation for flexible body dynamics called the absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF). It is used for modelling the systems composed of cables, pulleys, other rigid bodies and a motor with prescribed motion. The ANCF was chosen as a suitable approach, which that can allow to consider a detailed interaction of the cable and the pulley with its nonlinear dynamical behaviour. The ANCF uses absolute positions of nodes (reference vectors) and slopes (reference vector derivations) as a set of nodal coordinates. An in-house modelling tool in the MATLAB system was created based on the proposed modelling methodology and two case studies were performed. A simple system containing a pulley and a cable with two attached bodies was used in order to test the simulation tool based on the proposed modelling methodology with respect to different parameters. A more complex mechanical system composed of a driven weight joined with a motor by a cable led over a pulley was numerically and also experimentally investigated. The comparison of obtained numerical and experimental results shows sufficient agreement and proves that the proposed modelling approach can be used for dynamic analyses of such systems. 相似文献

Bifurcations and route to chaos of the Mathieu–Duffing oscillator are investigated by the incremental harmonic balance (IHB)
procedure. A new scheme for selecting the initial value conditions is presented for predicting the higher order periodic solutions.
A series of period-doubling bifurcation points and the threshold value of the control parameter at the onset of chaos can
be calculated by the present procedure. A sequence of period-doubling bifurcation points of the oscillator are identified
and found to obey the universal scale law approximately. The bifurcation diagram and phase portraits obtained by the IHB method
are presented to confirm the period-doubling route-to-chaos qualitatively. It can also be noted that the phase portraits and
bifurcation points agree well with those obtained by numerical time-integration. 相似文献

The stability of partly liquid filled spacecraft with flexible attachment was investigated in this paper.Liquid sloshing dynamics was simplified as the spring–mass model, and flexible attachment was modeled as the linear shearing beam. The dynamic equations and Hamiltonian of the coupled spacecraft system were given by analyzing the rigid body, liquid fuel, and flexible appendage. Nonlinear stability conditions of the coupled spacecraft system were derived by computing the variation of Casimir function which was added to the Hamiltonian. The stable region of the parameter space was given and validated by numerical computation. Related results suggest that the change of inertia matrix, the length of flexible attachment,spacecraft spinning rate, and filled ratio of liquid fuel tank have strong influence on the stability of the spacecraft system. 相似文献

Due to the two-dimensional nature of thin plates, the lamination theory considering the composite laminates with in-plane and plate bending problems coupling each other is treated in this paper by using complex variable formulation. By following the steps of Stroh formalism for two-dimensional linear anisotropic elasticity, a displacement complex variable formalism developed by the other researchers was introduced and re-derived in a different but more Stroh-like way. In addition, a brand-new mixed formalism (mixed use of displacements and stresses as basic functions) is established to compensate the displacement formalism. In order to transfer all the related formulae and mathematical techniques of the Stroh formalism to these two formalisms, the general solutions for the basic equations of lamination theory and their associated eigenrelations have been purposely arranged in the form of Stroh formalism. Moreover, by using the presently developed mixed formalism, the explicit expressions for the fundamental matrix and eigenvectors are obtained first time for the most general composite laminates. Furthermore, letting the coupling stiffness vanish, the formalism has been reduced to the case of symmetric laminates and checked by a recently developed Stroh-like formalism for the plate bending problems. The comparison between Stroh formalism for two-dimensional problem, Stroh-like formalism for plate bending problem, displacement formalism and mixed formalism is then made at the end of this paper, and through their connection some useful relations are obtained. 相似文献

The concept of symmetric bifurcation for a symmetric wheel-rail system is defined. After that, the time response of the system can be achieved by the numerical integration method, and an unfixed and dynamic Poincaré section and its symmetric section for the symmetric wheel-rail system are established. Then the ??resultant bifurcation diagram?? method is constructed. The method is used to study the symmetric/asymmetric bifurcation behaviors and chaotic motions of a two-axle railway bogie running on an ideal straight and perfect track, and a variety of characteristics and dynamic processes can be obtained in the results. It is indicated that, for the possible sub-critical Hopf bifurcation in the railway bogie system, the stable stationary solutions and the stable periodic solutions coexist. When the speed is in the speed range of Hopf bifurcation point and saddle-node bifurcation point, the coexistence of multiple solutions can cause the oscillating amplitude change for different kinds of disturbance. Furthermore, it is found that there are symmetric motions for lower speeds, and then the system passes to the asymmetric ones for wide ranges of the speed, and returns again to the symmetric motions with narrow speed ranges. The rule of symmetry breaking in the system is through a blue sky catastrophe in the beginning. 相似文献

A new method is developed to solve Biot's consolidation of a finite soil layer in the cylindrical coordinate system. Based on the governing equations of Biot's consolidation and the technique of Laplace transform, Fourier expansions and Hankel transform with respect to time t, coordinate θ and coordinate r, respectively, a relationship of displacements, stresses, excess pore water pressure and flux is established between the ground surface (z = 0) and an arbitrary depth z in the Laplace and Hankel transform domain. By referring to proper boundary conditions of the finite soil layer, the solutions for displacements, stresses, excess pore water pressure and flux of any point in the transform domain can be obtained. The actual solutions in the physical domain can be acquired by inverting the Laplace and the Hankel transforms. 相似文献

The dynamic interaction between ocean current and marine riser is complex in nature, and the riser׳s vortex-induced vibration (VIV) due to the current often strongly exhibits a non-stationary phenomenon. For investigating the time-varying dominant frequencies of the VIV motion, a joint time–frequency analysis is necessary. Traditional methods for time–frequency analysis include the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and Wavelet Transform (WT) methods, though both methods have significant drawbacks. Specifically, the STFT method suffers frequency resolution and leakage problems, while the WT method is highly sensitive to its basic wavelet selection. This paper newly introduces a robust high-resolution method, named the STPT-SS method, which is the Short Time Prony Transform (STPT) using a State-Space (SS) model. In particular, the STPT algorithm contributes to the high-resolution feature of the proposed method, and the SS model to the robustness. Using test VIV data that include a synthesized signal and measurements from laboratory and field experiments, the STPT-SS method is found to significantly outperform the STFT and WT methods in the time–frequency analysis. 相似文献
