THz spectroscopic investigation of 2,4-dinitrotoluene   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
We have investigated the terahertz (THz) spectrum of 2,4-DNT by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in the 0.2–19.5 THz region. We also examined low-frequency intermolecular or phonon modes between 0.2 and 1.8 THz via THz time-domain spectroscopy. The extracted absorption coefficient and refractive index of an intermolecular band at 1.08 THz are 110 cm−1 and 1.67, respectively. Density functional theory (DFT) was applied to obtain structure and vibrational frequencies of 2,4-DNT. The calculated results are in agreement with the experimental data. Observed vibrational frequencies have been interpreted using DFT. Two intermolecular or phonon modes were identified at 1.08 and 2.52 THz.  相似文献

In this work, THz absorption spectra of some saccharides and their metal complexes were measured. The main purpose of this work is to investigate the M-O vibrations, intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonds and other vibrations in the FIR region using powerful spectroscopic techniques adopting the metal-sugar complexes prepared in our laboratory. The M-O vibrations in the FIR spectra of metal-sugar complexes indicate the formation of metal complexes. The THz spectrum of glucose below 100cm(-1) was measured at first to confirm the THz experimental method. Characteristic absorption bands in the spectra of various samples are observed. THz spectra of saccharides below 100cm(-1) often have several absorption bands, and different saccharides have various absorption peaks in the THz region, which may be used to distinguish different saccharides. The differences in the number of bands observed are related to different structures of the samples, and these absorption bands are related to the collective motion of molecules. But the THz spectra of their metal complexes are different from the ligands, and no band appears in the region below 50cm(-1) at the present experimental condition, which indicates that THz spectroscopy may also be helpful to identify the formation of metal-sugar complexes, and the changes after complexation in the THz spectra below 100cm(-1) may be related to different metal ions. The metal-sugar complexes with similar crystal structures resemble mid-IR spectra, but their THz spectra may have some differences.  相似文献

应用太赫兹时域光谱(THz-TDS)技术, 在室温下对构成蛋白质的20种基本氨基酸的多晶粉末压片样品进行了光谱测试分析. 结果表明, 所有氨基酸对THz波反应非常灵敏, 在0.2-3.0 THz的有效频谱范围内, 表现出各自特征吸收峰, 故而利用THz光谱可以有效地区别不同种类的氨基酸. 我们以新数据验证和补充了前人的研究结果, 建立了以氨基酸分子结构及其THz光谱特征为基础的分类方案, 讨论并揭示了氨基酸分子的结构差异与其THz吸收光谱之间的相关性. 认知这些相关性将有助于鉴定氨基酸分子, 促进THz光谱学的理论研究以及在生物医学领域的推广应用.  相似文献

利用太赫兹时域光谱技术(THz-TDS)对D-、L-和DL-青霉胺的研究发现, 三种样品在0.2 THz到1.8 THz波段的吸收光谱存在显著差异, 实验结果表明, THz吸收光谱能够鉴别青霉胺对映异构体, 这一特点将可以用于青霉胺药物的检测. 本文利用纯D-、L-青霉胺的THz吸收光谱, 对D-、L-青霉胺混合样品的THz吸收光谱进行拟合, 证明可以用THz光谱定量分析混合样品中D-、L-青霉胺的相对含量. 这项研究为手性药物分子检测和分析提供了新的实验方法, 也对深入了解手性药物与生物靶分子之间相互作用提供了启示.  相似文献

The measurement of absorption spectra using angle-dependent terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy for amino acid single crystals of l-cysteine and l-histidine is reported for the first time. Linearly polarized THz radiation enables us to observe angle-dependent far-infrared absorption spectra of amino acid single crystals and determine the direction of the oscillating dipole of the molecules in the 20-100 cm(-1) range. By comparing the THz spectra of a single crystal and powder, we found that there was a clear hydrogen-bond peak in the crystal spectrum as a result of the larger hydrogen-bond network. The low-temperature THz spectra of amino acid microcrystals showed more intermolecular vibrational modes than those measured at room temperature. An ab initio frequency calculation of a single amino acid molecule was used to predict the intramolecular vibrational modes. The validity of the calculation models was confirmed by comparing the results with experimentally obtained data in the Raman spectral region.  相似文献

利用太赫兹时域光谱技术(THz-TDS)在室温下对L-福多司坦和DL-福多司坦进行测量,发现L-和DL-福多司坦在THz波段都有特征吸收峰,且两者的吸收谱有明显差异.运用密度泛函理论的B3LYP方法计算了L-和DL-福多司坦在太赫兹波段的吸收谱,并对L-和DL-福多司坦的特征吸收峰进行了指认,理论计算与实验结果基本吻合.此外,还对福多司坦胶囊成品药进行了测量,发现该胶囊的吸收谱与L-福多司坦非常吻合,证明胶囊药的主要成分为L-福多司坦.这项研究对手性物质的检测以及化合物有效成分的鉴别有一定的参考作用.  相似文献

运用THz时域光谱测试技术(THz-TDS)与理论模拟相结合的方法, 研究了β-丙氨酸在THz波段的光谱特性. 在室温氮气环境中, 得到了样品在0.2~2.4 THz波段的吸收谱和折射率谱, 表明其特征吸收峰位于2.11 THz处, 平均折射率为1.96. 同时利用Gaussian 03软件的半经验理论计算了该分子在0.1~10.0 THz的振动吸收谱, 其在0.2~2.4 THz波段的吸收峰与实验相互对应, 且峰位符合较好. 研究了分子低频的振动模式, 并给出了分子的构象参数.  相似文献

Well-resolved absorption spectra of benzoic acid and its derivatives with one hydrogen atom replaced by a substituent group CH3, OH, NH2 or NO2 were reported in the frequency region between 6 and 67 cm^-1 at room temperature with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). These substances can be distinguished easily based on the terahertz absorption spectra. The measurements suggested that even minor changes in the molecular configuration and chemical composition lead to distinct differences in THz spectrum. Density functional theory (DFT) method was used to assist the analysis and assignment of the individual THz absorption spectra of benzoic acid and its methyl derivatives. Observed THz responses of samples can be assigned to the collective vibrations associated with intermolecular hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

The enantiomers of 2-(2-chlorophenoxy) propanoic acid and 2-(3-chlorophenoxy) propanoic acid were resolved on a chiral HPLC column and investigated using mid-infrared vibrational circular dichroism (VCD). Experimental infrared vibrational absorption and VCD spectra were measured in CDCl3 solution in the 2000-900 cm-1 region and compared with the ab initio predictions of absorption and VCD spectra. The predicted spectra were obtained with density functional theory using B3LYP/6-31G* basis set for the stable and dominant conformers. But the predicted spectra did not provide unambiguous structural information due to intermolecular hydrogen bonding in solution. To eliminate the hydrogen bonding effects, the acids were converted to the corresponding methyl esters and the experimental absorbance and VCD spectra of methyl esters were measured. B3LYP predicted spectra were also obtained for the stable and dominant conformers of the esters. From a comparison of the experimental VCD spectra of methyl esters with corresponding ab initio predictions, the absolute configurations of esters, and therefore of their parent acids, are unambiguously determined to be (+)-(R).  相似文献

Infrared spectra of weakly bound hydrogen-krypton complexes have been studied at high spectral resolution (0.04 cm(-1)) using a long-path (154 m) low temperature (100 K) absorption cell and a Fourier transform spectrometer. In addition to spectra from the regions of the H(2) and D(2) fundamental vibrational bands in the midinfrared, the results also include the region of the pure rotational S(0)(0) transition of H(2) in the far infrared. A total of 219 measured line positions from these spectra have been fully assigned to specific quantum transitions and form the basis for determining a greatly improved semiempirical three-dimensional intermolecular potential energy surface for hydrogen-krypton in an accompanying paper.  相似文献

利用太赫兹时域光谱(THz-TDS)技术研究室温条件下多晶含硫氨基酸L-蛋氨酸(Met)和L-半胱氨酸(Cys)的光谱特性, 得到相应的吸收谱和折射率谱, 表明含硫氨基酸在THz波段具有区别于其它氨基酸的显著特征. 在实验测量的有效光谱范围0.2~2.8 THz内, L-蛋氨酸的THz吸收峰分别位于1.06, 1.88和2.70 THz; L-半胱氨酸的吸收峰分别位于1.40, 1.70, 2.33和2.61 THz, 两种氨基酸的平均折射率均为1.44. 利用GAUSSIAN 03软件包中的Hartree-Fock理论计算了蛋氨酸双分子的低频振动谱, 表明了与蛋氨酸各吸收峰对应的分子微观振动模式, 并对实验光谱进行了解析讨论.  相似文献

利用太赫兹时域光谱测得了2,4-DNT和 2,6-DNT在0.3-2.0THz频谱范围的吸收谱和折射谱。借助高斯03程序对2,6-DNT进行结构优化和频率计算。2,6-DNT在1.09, 1.36 and 1.55 THz有三个明显吸收并被归因于分子间的相互作用。本文使用太赫兹光谱法对2,4-DNT和 2,6-DNT混合物做了定量分析。分析的结果与实际值基本一致,相对误差约为8%。  相似文献

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) is used to study the intra- and intermolecular vibrational modes of aromatic carboxylic acids, for example, o-phthalic acid, benzoic acid, and salicylic acid, which form either intra- or intermolecular hydrogen bond(s) in different ways. Incorporating the target molecules in nano-sized spaces in mesoporous silicate (SBA-16) is found to be effective for the separate detection of intramolecular hydrogen bonding modes and intermolecular modes. The results are supported by an analysis of the differences in the peak shifts, which depend on temperature, caused by the different nature of the THz absorption. Raman spectra revealed that incorporating the molecules in the nano-sized pores of SBA-16 slightly changes the molecular structures. In the future, THz-TDS using nanoporous materials will be used to analyze the intra- and intermolecular vibrational modes of molecules with larger hydrogen bonding networks such as proteins or DNA.  相似文献

The intermolecular clusters of sulfur dioxide with water, SO2(H2O)n (n = 2~5), are studied by using B3LYP density functional theory and MP2 ab initio methods along with the large basis sets (6-311++G(d,p) and aug-cc-pVDZ). The equilibrium geometries, intermolecular binding energies, and anharmonic frequencies of the clusters are calculated and compared with those of pure water clusters and available experiments. SO2 tends to form cyclic hydrogen-bonded complexes with two or three water molecules. In the larger clusters, however, water molecules begin to retain the structure of pure water clusters and segregate from SO2. Infrared absorption assignments for the small clusters are discussed to resolve a possible incorrect assignment in a recent spectroscopic experiment on the clusters.  相似文献

The experimental solid-state terahertz (THz) spectrum (3 to 120 cm(-1)) of the high explosive pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN, C(5)H(6)N(4)O(12)) has been modeled using solid-state density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Solid-state DFT, employing the BP density functional, is in best qualitative agreement with the features in the previously reported THz spectrum. The crystal environment of PETN includes numerous intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions that contribute to large (up to 80 cm(-1)) calculated shifts in molecular normal-mode positions in the solid state. Comparison of the isolated-molecule and solid-state normal-mode calculations for a series of density functionals reveals the extent to which the inclusion of crystal-packing interactions and the relative motions between molecules are required for correctly reproducing the vibrational structure of solid-state THz spectra. The THz structure below 120 cm(-1) is a combination of both intermolecular (relative rotations and translations) and intramolecular (torsions, large amplitude motions) vibrational motions. Vibrational-mode analyses indicate that the first major feature (67.2 cm(-1)) in the PETN THz spectrum contains all of the optical rotational and translational cell modes and no internal (molecular) vibrational modes.  相似文献

The electronic excitation spectra of unsubstituted linear silanes (n-Si(m)H(2m+2), m = 1-6), cyclopentasilane (c-Si5H10), and neopentasilane (neo-Si5H12) have been studied at the coupled-cluster approximate singles and doubles (CC2) level using Dunning's quadruple-zeta basis sets augmented with diffuse functions (aug-cc-pVQZ). Comparisons with measured ultraviolet spectra for Si2H6 and n-Si3H8 show that CC2 calculations using these basis sets yield excitation energies in good agreement with experiment. The calculated excitation thresholds for Si2H6 and n-Si3H8 of 7.61 and 6.68 eV are only 0.05 eV larger than the gas-phase values of 7.56 and 6.63 eV, respectively. For n-Si4H10, n-Si5H12, and neo-Si5H12, the calculated excitation thresholds of 6.51, 6.14, and 6.87 eV for the lowest dipole-allowed transitions are about 0.4 eV larger than the corresponding liquid-phase data of 6.05, 5.77, and 6.53 eV; the discrepancy can mainly be attributed to solvent effects. The obtained excitation thresholds for n-Si6H14 is 5.85 eV, whereas no experimental data are available for its optical gap. Calculations using the Karlsruhe triple-zeta valence basis sets augmented with single and double sets of polarization functions show that very large basis sets augmented with diffuse functions are needed for obtaining accurate excitation energies. The optical gaps for silanes obtained using the triple-zeta polarization basis sets were found to be 0.4 and 0.2 eV larger than those obtained using Dunning's quadruple-zeta basis sets. Excitation thresholds calculated at density functional theory levels using generalized gradient approximation are 0.7-1.0 eV smaller than the experimental values and by employing hybrid functionals they are 0.3-0.4 eV below the experimental thresholds. By adding the present basis-set correction and environmental effects to the previously calculated CC2 value for the excitation threshold of the Si29H36 silicon nanocluster, the extrapolated absorption threshold is 4.0 eV as compared to the recently reported experimental value of 3.7 eV.  相似文献

Low-energy vibrational modes have been investigated in polycrystalline naphthalene and its derivatives naphthols using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) over the frequency range from 17 to 73 cm–1 (0.5–2.2 THz) at room temperature. We propose that naphthalene and naphthols show spectral features originating from intermolecular vibrational modes. Because of the collective origin of the observed modes, the absorption spectra are highly sensitive to the overall structure and configuration of the molecules, as well as their environments. For light-sensitive materials, the THz-TDS procedure can avoid effects like photobleaching.  相似文献

We present the first report on the synthesis of chiral ureas, (R)- and (S)-2-heptylurea, and their gelling behaviors. The ureas were prepared by the reactions of chiral amines and phenyl carbamate in the presence of triethylamine. On cooling from homogeneous solutions, the chiral ureas form gels in water and various nonpolar organic solvents, such as cyclohexane, toluene, and tetrachloromethane, while the racemate gelatinize only toluene and tetrachloromethane among the solvents we examined. The gelling ability of the enantiomeric urea is higher than the racemate, as the critical gelling concentrations in toluene, for example, were 0.2% and 0.7% (wt/wt), respectively. The enhanced gelling ability of the enantiomeric ureas is due to the 1D supramolecular structure formed during gelation. In contrast, the racemate crystallizes into two-dimensional lamellae, where the (R)- and (S)-2-heptylurea exist alternatingly in a plane (P2(1)/c space group). Powder X-ray diffraction pattern of the enantiomeric urea showed that it has a different crystal lattice from that of the racemate, implying that the steric effect by the methyl group at the chiral center prevents the pure enantiomers from having 2D hydrogen bonding networks, which lead to sheet-like structures for the racemate and the achiral analog. Thus the pure enantiomers self-organize into one-dimensional fibrous structures. The simplicity and the ambidextrous gelling behaviors of the chiral ureas in forming both hydrogels and organogels present numerous possibilities for future applications.  相似文献

Vibrational absorption and circular dichroism (VCD) spectra of (-)-(1S,3R)-camphanic acid have been measured in deuterated chloroform solutions at different concentrations (0.005, 0.045, and 0.200 M) in the mid-infrared spectral range. Experimental spectra have been compared with the density functional theory (DFT) absorption and VCD spectra, calculated using the B3PW91 functional and cc-pVTZ basis set for three conformers of both the monomer and the dimer forms of (-)-(1S,3R)-camphanic acid. These calculations indicate that, in the dilute solution, the conformer with intramolecular hydrogen-bonding between the hydroxyl and lactone groups is of lowest energy and represents 70% of the different monomer conformers at room temperature, whereas, in concentrated solution, the dimer formed by intermolecular hydrogen-bonding of carboxyl groups of the two distinct monomer conformations is stabilized. The vibrational absorption and circular dichroism spectra calculated from the Boltzmann population of the individual monomer and dimer conformers are in very good overall agreement with the corresponding experimental spectra, allowing the absolute conformation and configuration of (-)-(1S,3R)-camphanic acid in dilute and concentrated solution, respectively. Experiments were also performed on (-)-(1S,3R)-camphanic chloride for which the populations predicted by DFT calculations are found to be in disagreement with those deduced from experimental spectra.  相似文献

Temperature-dependent terahertz (THz) absorption spectra of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate)s (PHAs) were measured by using a Fourier transform far-infrared (FT-FIR) spectrometer and a THz time-domain spectrometer over a temperature range of 10 K to 465 K with a liquid helium cryostat and a heating cell. Clear differences were observed between the spectra of crystalline and amorphous polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), indicating that the absorption peaks observed in the THz spectra originated in the higher-order conformation of PHB. The polarization spectra of a stretched PHB sample were measured, and the direction of the vibrational transition moment was determined. The temperature dependences of the spectra reveal frequency shifts and broadening of the absorption peaks with temperature, suggesting large anharmonicity of the vibrational potential. The temperature shift behaviour is quite different in each transition. Some of the transitions show a blue shift, which cannot be explained by a simple anharmonic potential model. Frequency shifts of the peaks were mainly observed below 10 THz, which suggests a large anharmonicity of the vibrational potential at lower frequencies.  相似文献
