Reactions of ruthenium(II) complexes [RuHX(CO)(EPh3)2(B)] (X = H or Cl; B = EPh3, pyridine (py) or piperidine (pip); E = P or As) with bidentate Schiff base ligands derived by condensingo- hydroxyacetophenone with aniline,o- orp-methylaniline have been carried out. The products were characterized by analytical, IR, electronic and1H-NMR spectral studies and are formulated as [Ru(X)(CO) (L)(EPh3)(B)] (L = Schiff base anion; X = H or Cl; B = EPh3, py or pip; E = P or As). An octahedral structure has been tentatively proposed for the new complexes. The new complexes were tested for their catalytic activities in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde.  相似文献

New ruthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(CO)(B)(LL)(PPh3)] (where, LL = tridentate Schiff bases; B = PPh3, pyridine, piperidine or morpholine) have been prepared by reacting [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] or [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)2(B)] with Schiff bases containing donor groups (O, N, X) viz., salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (X = S), salicylaldehyde semicarbazone (X = O), o-hydroxyacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (X = S) and o-hydroxyacetophenone semicarbazone (X = O). The new complexes were characterised by elemental analysis, spectral (i.r., 1H- and 31P-n.m.r.), data.  相似文献

A series of octahedral RuII/RuIII complexes of the type [Ru(Y)(CO)(BAX)(PPh3)2] and [RuCl2(BAX)(PPh3)2] (Y = H or Cl; BAX = benzaldehydeacetylhydrazone anion; X = H, Me, OMe, OH, Cl or NO2) have been prepared and characterised by spectral, magnetic and cyclic voltammetric studies. The RuII complexes are low spin diamagnetic (S = 0) whereas the RuIII complexes are low spin and paramagnetic (S = 1/2). These RuII and RuIII complexes absorb in the visible region respectively at ca. 16,000 and 28,000 cm–1 which bands are assigned to the MLCT. The correlation of the max values of the RuIII complexes with the + Hammett parameter, is linear, indicating the profound effect of substituents on the electron density of the central metal. I.r. spectral data reveals that the hydrazone is chelated to ruthenium through the hydrazinic nitrogen and the deprotonated enolic oxygen. The rhombic nature of the e.s.r. spectra of the RuIII complexes indicates an asymmetry in the electronic environment around the Ru atom. RuII complexes in CH2Cl2 show an irreversible RuII/III redox couple at ca. 0.9–0.5 V, while the RuIII complexes show two reversible redox couples in the –0.1–0.1 and 0.8–0.6 V range, indicating that the higher oxidation state of ruthenium is stabilised by hydrazones.  相似文献

The products obtained by reacting ruthenium (II) complexes [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)2(B)] [B = PPh3, pyridine (py) or piperidine (pip)] with tridentate Schiff base ligands derived by condensing salicylaldehyde or o-vanillin with o-aminophenol and o-aminothiophenol, have been characterised by analytical, i.r., electronic, 1H-n.m.r. and 31P-n.m.r. spectral studies and formulated as [Ru(L)(CO)(PPh3)(B)] (L = bifunctional tridentate Schiff base anion, B = PPh3, py or pip). An octahedral structure has been tentatively proposed for the new complexes. Some have been tested for the in vitro growth inhibitory activity against bacteria Escherichia coli, Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp.  相似文献

The monobasic bidentate Schiff base complexes of palladium(II) and platinum(II) derived from 1H-indol-2,3-dione thiosemicarbazone (L1H) and 1H-indol-2,3-dione semicarbazone (L2H) have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, i.r., 1H n.m.r. and u.v. spectral studies. Based on these studies a square planar environment around the metal atoms has been proposed. Antimicrobial effects of both the ligands and their complexes on different species of pathogenic fungi and bacteria have been recorded and these are found to possess significant fungicidal and bactericidal properties.  相似文献

Four novel ON donor Schiff bases (E)-3-((4-phenoxyphenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol (HL1),(E)-3-((4-(4-biphenyloxy)phenyliminomethyl)benzene-1,2-diol (HL2), (E)-3-((4-naphthoxyphenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol (HL3), (E)-3-((4-(2-naphthoxy)phenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol (HL4) and their copper(II) complexes bis((E)-3-((4-phenoxyphenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol) copper(II) (Cu(L1)2) bis((E)-3-((4-(4-biphenyloxy)phenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol) copper(II) (Cu(L2)2), bis((E)-3-((4-naphthoxyphenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol) copper(II) (Cu(L3)2), bis((E)-3-((4-(2-naphthoxy)phenylimino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol) copper(II) (Cu(L4)2) have been synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic (FTIR, NMR, UV–visible) and elemental analysis. The crystal structures of HL1, HL2, HL3, and HL4 have been determined, which reveal intramolecular N-H?O (HL1, HL2, HL3, and HL4) hydrogen bonds in the solid state. Keto-amine and enol-imine tautomerism is exhibited by the Schiff bases in solid and solution states. The Schiff bases and their copper(II) complexes have been screened for their biological activities. In antimicrobial assays (antibacterial and antifungal), HL4 showed promising results against all strains through dual inhibition property while the rest of the compounds showed activity against selective strains. On the other hand, in cytotoxic, DPPH, and inhibition of hydroxyl (OH) free radical-induced DNA damage assays, the results were found significantly correlated with each other, i.e. the ligands HL1 and HL2 showed moderate activity while their complexes Cu(L1)2 and Cu(L2)2 exhibited prominent increase in activity. As the results of these assays are supporting each other, it represents the strong positive correlation and antioxidant nature of investigated compounds.  相似文献

This study describes the effects of the substituents on electrochemical behavior and antioxidant activity of the six tetradentate Schiff bases, containing ethane-1,2-diamine or propane-1,2-diamine as the amine part and pentane-2,4-dione and/or 1-phenylbutane-1,3-dione as ??-diketone, and corresponding copper(II) complexes. Cyclic voltammograms of these compounds were recorded in dimethylsulfoxide and 0.1?M sodium perchlorate as supporting electrolyte with glassy carbon as working electrode at different scan rates. The voltammograms of Schiff bases alone showed only one irreversible peak. Voltammograms recorded for complexes showed the presence of quasi-reversible processes taking place at the metal center and reversible process at the ligand part. Both steric and inductive effects of substituents and structure of imine bridge of Schiff base ligands as well as complexes were discussed. These effects appear relevant for the antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity of the investigated compounds expressed as Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity is also discussed. The electrochemical behavior showed a high correlation with the antioxidant activity for investigated compounds.  相似文献

Reactions of ruthenium(II) carbonyl complexes of the type [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)2(B)] [B?=?PPh3, pyridine (py), piperidine (pip) or morpholine (mor)] with bidentate Schiff base ligands derived from the condensation of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with aniline, o-, m- or p-toluidine in a 1?:?1 mol ratio in benzene resulted in the formation of complexes formulated as [RuCl(CO)(L)(PPh3)(B)] [L?=?bidentate Schiff base anion, B?=?PPh3, py, pip, mor]. The complexes were characterized by analyses, IR, electronic and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetric studies. In all cases, the Schiff bases replace one molecule of phosphine and a hydride ion from the starting complexes, indicating that Ru–N bonds in the complexes containing heterocyclic nitrogenous bases are stronger than the Ru–P bond to PPh3. Octahedral geometry is proposed for the complexes.  相似文献

A series of intramolecular complexes with Schiff base ligands having N∩S and N∩O donor systems were synthesized in an open vessel under microwave irradiation (MWI) using a domestic microwave oven. The reaction time has been brought down from hours to seconds with improved yield as compared with the conventional heating. The complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, conductance measurements and spectroscopic analysis. Based on the IR, 1H NMR, 11B NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopic studies, a tetrahedral geometry has been proposed for the resulting complexes. The compounds have been screened in vitro against bacteria and fungi to test their antimicrobial property and in vivo in male albino rats to test their antifertility property. The testicular sperm density, motility and density of cauda epididymal spermatozoa along with biochemical parameters of reproductive organs have been examined and discussed. Three asymmetric Schiff-base tetradentate diimines H2L1, H2L2, and H2L3 [(2-OH)C6H4N=CHC6H42-N=CHC6H3(2-OH)(5-X), X?=?H, CH3, Cl respectively] have been synthesized by a two step process. The reaction of 2-hydroxy aniline with 2-nitro-benzaldehyde in EtOH gave the starting Schiff base, 2-hydroxy-N-(2-nitrobenzylidene)aniline (SB-NO2), which was reduced into the amino derivative (SB-NH2) in solution. Reacting SB-NH2 with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-5-chlorobenzaldehyde gave the three new ligands H2L1, H2L2, and H2L3 respectively. Their dimeric, binuclear metal complexes with Ni(II) and Fe(III) have also been synthesized. The ligands and their complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, LC–MS, IR, electronic, 1H and 13C-NMR spectra, TGA, conductivity and magnetic measurements. All of the spectroscopic, analytical and other data indicate octahedral geometry M2L2(H2O)X2 (M: Ni,Co;X: Cl or H2O), except for NiL2 which is monomeric. Antimicrobial activities of the ligands and the complexes were evaluated against five bacteria. While the ligands and the Ni complexes are inactive towards Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, Fe complexes are active; only Fe complexes are inactive against Escherichia coli. All of the compounds have antimicrobial activities against Bacillus subtilis, and Yersinia enterecolitica.  相似文献

Treatment of [Ru(CHR)Cl2(PCy3)2] (Cy = cyclohexyl) with Tl[N(Pr2iPO)2] and AgLOEt (LOEt = [CpCo{P(O)(OEt)2}3]) afforded the Ru carbene complexes [Ru(CHPh)(PCy3)Cl{N(Pr2iPO)2}] (1) and [LOEtRu(CHR)(PCy3)Cl] (2), respectively. Chloride abstraction of complex 2 with TlPF6 in MeCN afforded [LOEtRu(CHPh)(PCy3)(MeCN)][PF6] (3). Complexes 1 and 2 are capable of catalyzing ring-closing metathesis of diethyl 1,2-diallylmalonate. The crystal structure of complex 2 has been determined.  相似文献
