Covariance is a useful property for handling supergravity theories. In this paper, we prove a covariance property of supergravity field equations: under reasonable conditions, field equations of supergravity are covariant modulo other field equations. We prove that for any supergravity there exist such covariant equations of motion, other than the regular equations of motion, that are equivalent to the latter. The relations that we find between field equations and their covariant form can be used to obtain multiplets of field equations. In practice, the covariant field equations are easily found by simply covariantizing the ordinary field equations.  相似文献

This paper deals with problems of finite-amplitude standing waves in acoustical resonators of variable cross-section. Set of two one-dimensional partial differential equations in the third approximation, formulated in conservative form, is derived from the fundamental equations of gas dynamics. The model equations which takes into account external driving force, gas dynamic nonlinearities and thermoviscous dissipation are solved numerically in time domain using a central scheme developed for convection-diffusion equations integration. In this paper numerical results for closed air-filled acoustic resonators are presented.  相似文献

This is the first paper on symmetry classification for ordinary differential equations (ODEs) based on Wu’s method. We carry out symmetry classification of two ODEs, named the generalizations of the Kummer-Schwarz equations which involving arbitrary function. First, Lie algorithm is used to give the determining equations of symmetry for the given equations, which involving arbitrary functions. Next, differential form Wu’s method is used to decompose determining equations into a union of a series of zero sets of differential characteristic sets, which are easy to be solved relatively. Each branch of the decomposition yields a class of symmetries and associated parameters. The algorithm makes the classification become direct and systematic. Yuri Dimitrov Bozhkov, and Pammela Ramos da Conceição have used the Lie algorithm to give the symmetry classifications of the equations talked in this paper in 2020. From this paper, we can find that the differential form Wu’s method for symmetry classification of ODEs with arbitrary function (parameter) is effective, and is an alternative method.  相似文献

This paper considers conditional Lie–Bäcklund symmetries of the radially symmetric nonlinear diffusion equations with source. We obtain a complete list of canonical forms for such equations which admit higher-order conditional symmetries. As a consequence, the solutions of the resulting equations are constructed on the invariant subspaces admitted by the corresponding equations.  相似文献

The object of this paper is to relate three equations in the Newman-Penrose system of equations to the conservation laws and, hence, to the equations of motion. To do so, the corresponding result is first obtained using the Einstein equations in a null coordinate system. The Newman-Penrose equations are then analyzed. They are separated into hypersurface, propagation, supplementary, and conservation equations. In this paper, a Birkhoff--Noether method of solving ordinary differential equations is presented. The differential equations can be expressed in terms of Birkhoff's equations. The first integrals for differential equations can be found by using the Noether theory for Birkhoffian systems. Two examples are given to illustrate the application of the method.  相似文献

In an earlier paper we considered a power-series expansion of the metric for a rotating field in terms of a parameter and constructed a solution of Einstein's equations to the first few orders in terms of two harmonic functions. We encountered a pair of Poisson-type equations which were apparently insoluble explicitly. The form of the metric considered was the Weyl-Lewis-Papapetrou form. In this paper we consider a power-series expansion of the most general form of a rotating metric and show that one encounters the same two Poisson equations as before. If these equations are insoluble explicitly, as seems likely, then a general solution depending on two harmonic functions cannot exist in closed form.  相似文献

The functional formalism described in a preceding paper, leads to a great number of integral equations for molecular distribution functions. Some of them have a certain symmetry property which, in the case of the pair distribution function includes symmetry with respect to the permutation of particles. This symmetry condition is necessary for any self consistent approximation. Among all integral equations known to date only the PY and the HNC equations satisfy this condition. In this paper we derive some new symmetric equations. Integral equations which are obtained with the help of the Percus method, involvingn-particle distribution functions (n > 2), cannot be symmetric with respect to the interchange of particles.  相似文献

In a recent paper K. Tomita and M. Den found a set of coupled differential equations for spatially flat, anisotropic homogeneous,N- dimensional cosmological models. Some particular exact solutions of those differential equations for a few specific equations of state were obtained by D. Lorentz-Petzold. In a recent paper, Mathiazhagan and Johri reduced the field equations for an isotropic, homogeneous, and almost flat universe with a constant vacuum-energy density by Brans-Dicke theory to a pair of coupled differential equations. They also obtained a particular solution of these equations. Further, they used this particular solution of the equations to estimate the value of the gravitational constant. Here we obtain the complete set of solutions of the above-mentioned coupled differential equations and improved the estimate of Mathiazhagan and Johri of the gravitational constant.  相似文献

In this paper, we give a KAM theorem for a class of infinite dimensional nearly integrable Hamiltonian systems. The theorem can be applied to some Hamiltonian partial differential equations in higher dimensional spaces with periodic boundary conditions to construct linearly stable quasi–periodic solutions and its local Birkhoff normal form. The applications to the higher dimensional beam equations and the higher dimensional Schrödinger equations with nonlocal smooth nonlinearity are also given in this paper.  相似文献

The equations of elasticity, the equations of electricity supplemented by the constitutive equations of a piezoelectric quartz have been employed to investigate the deformation of an annular piezoelectric disk containing a concentric inhomogeneous rigid inclusion.
