A new circuit for CuBr laser excitation   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A novel electrical circuit for CuBr laser excitation which consists of two interacting capacitive circuits is reported for the first time. An output power of 19 W with an efficiency of 1.6% was obtained. Some features of the laser operation, such as the voltage of the electrodes, the current pulse and the laser pulse, are given.  相似文献

Our investigations demonstrated that utilizing copper bromide (CuBr) mixture as a source of Cu atoms in a RF-excited discharge can be a promising alternative to the Cu sputtered system, when the development of Cu ion gas laser is considered. Both spectroscopic and laser investigations showed that the threshold input power for lasing was reduced about 5 times using the CuBr-based system instead of the Cu-sputtered system. Pulsed and CW laser oscillation on Cu+ transitions in the near IR spectral region was obtained in RF-excited He-CuBr discharge operated at 13.56 MHz and 27.12 MHz. At input RF power of 800 W, a laser output power of 10 mW at the 780.8 nm Cu ion laser line was achieved. An increase of laser output power by a factor of two, as well as better Cu vapour axial distribution and better discharge stability, was attained when DC discharge was superimposed on the RF discharge. Laser gain on 11 UV Cu ion lines was observed in RF-excited Ne-CuBr discharge. basing on the obtained results, we consider the CuBr laser system excited by RF discharge capable of generating UV laser radiation at relatively low input power. Experiments on the lifetime of a CuBr laser with flowing neon as a buffer gas are reported. The CuBr laser with a discharge tube of inner diameter 18 mm, electrode separation 465 mm at an average output power of 3 W, an efficiency of 0.4% for a lifetime of 734 h is obtained. In consideration of the flow of the buffer gas and combined structure of the discharge tube we have achieved prolongation of the laser lifetime.  相似文献

A standard corona preionized XeCl laser prototype has been excited by a very simple L-C circuit consisting of a large storage capacitance charged at relatively low voltage (12 kV) and discharged via a switch on the electrodes, tightly coupled with the peaking capacitors. The resulting overvoltage following the switch closure behaves as an effective and automatic prepulse, providing a homogeneous discharge lasting up to 400 ns. Energy output levels of the order of 150 mJ at 1.4% overall efficiency have been achieved.  相似文献

An output power of 1.74 W at 2.03 microm was generated at a slope efficiency of 51% when a double-clad Tm(3+)-doped silica fiber laser was pumped with high-power 1150 nm diode lasers. Pump excited state absorption from the upper laser level populates higher energy levels allowing cross relaxation to repopulate the upper laser level at a quantum efficiency greater than unity and to limit losses relating to additional pump excited state absorption. The output power was scaled to 4.77 W when both ends of the fiber were pumped.  相似文献

An optically pumped XeF(C-A) laser with 0.1-1 Hz pulse-repetition mode is demonstrated. The maximum output energy is up to 18.7 J, which corresponds to the conversion efficiency of the stored electrical energy to laser output energy of 0.25%. The laser active medium is optically excited by vacuum-ultraviolet radiation of two single-channel surface discharges initiated along opposite walls of the laser cell. The laser resonator output coupling is 10%, and the initial XeF2 concentration in the active gas mixture is ~1 x 10(17) cm(-3). The duration of the observed laser pulses is 0.8 to 1.2 micros, and the spectral band is 470-500 nm.  相似文献

A novel method for the pulse shortening of the 578 nm spectral line from a CuBr laser is proposed in this paper. By amplifying a seeded picosecond dye laser through the active medium of a CuBr laser, nearly Fourier-transform-limited picosecond pulses of the CuBr laser have been obtained and the output characteristics are also investigated in detail.  相似文献

为了使有广泛应用的CuBr激光器能稳定和高效运行,针对实验中出现的激光输出功率随放电频率起伏的情况,给出CuBr激光放电管内声波振动的数学模型。该模型选取圆柱形放电管轴为柱坐标轴对波动方程求解,通过数值计算,获得了放电管内声压分布的解析表达式。通过分析放电频率与激光管固有声振动频率的关系,明确了声共振会导致激光介质重新分布,它对激光输出功率有影响,理论计算结果和实验结果完全符合。  相似文献

利用一维流体模型研究了放电泵浦ArF准分子激光动力学过程,得到气体放电过程中放电电路的电流电压波形,得到了电子密度、光子密度、电场的时空分布特性,分析了放电参数对激光输出的影响。结果表明,电路参数、工作气压、氟气比例均对激光输出有显著影响,放电电路中的电感值对输出影响较小,参数范围较广,而电路中较小的峰化电容值有利于获得长脉冲输出,气压太大或太小都会使输出能量降低,同样,氟气比例太大或太小也会使输出能量降低。  相似文献

研究了外腔式PbWO4拉曼激光器在纳秒脉冲抽运下的输出特性。利用主动调Q的Nd:YAG激光器产生的脉冲宽度为31.4ns,最大输出能量为200mJ的1064nm激光作为抽运源。拉曼激光谐振腔采用的是平凹腔设计。测量了输出的拉曼光脉宽与抽运能量的关系,分析了输出的拉曼光脉冲波形图和光谱图,测量了输出的拉曼光脉冲能量与抽运能量的关系,计算了转换效率与抽运能量的关系。当注入抽运光能量达到42mJ时,得到了一阶斯托克斯光脉冲的最大能量和转换效率分别为10mJ和24%,获得外腔式PbWO4拉曼激光器的一阶斯托克斯光脉冲波长为1177.6nm,典型的一阶斯托克斯光脉冲脉宽为20ns。  相似文献

Investigations on the life-time of a whole-heated sealed-off CuBr laser are reported. Keeping the bromine concentration low enough not less than 500 h of laser operation is already realizable. The decrease of laser power is due mainly to output windows pollution.  相似文献

A distributed model of a continuous-wave erbium-doped fiber laser is discussed. The model is based on two contra-propagated traveling laser waves, and includes inhomogeneous pumping, excited state absorption at the pump and the laser wavelengths, amplified spontaneous emission and radial distribution of populations of erbium levels. It is shown that excited state absorption is a main limiting factor to the laser's efficiency. Moreover, consideration of radial distributions of erbium levels' populations in the model reduces laser efficiency and decreases optimal reflection of the laser output coupler. The modeling results are in excellent agreement with the experimental study on the EDFL efficiency.  相似文献

High beam quality output has been demonstrated from a single medium-scale (2 cm dia. × 50 cm) CuBr laser with hydrogen additives. The addition of hydrogen leads to beam divergence reduction and laser power lift-up finally yielding 5-fold increase in laser power spatial intensity compared with the case of no hydrogen added. With a simple positive-branch unstable resonator practical (pulse-average) divergence of 80 rad is achieved. The easy-feasible sealed-off version of CuBr laser makes it an attractive source for many high-quality laser beam applications.  相似文献

An improved version of the auto-prepulse excitation scheme for long-pulse operation of the XeCl excimer laser is reported. A pulsed reverse bias on the small peaking capacitance allows efficient (1.7%) operation at 100 mJ output level with a charge voltage limited to 5–7 kV. 对一台小型电激励连续波DF化学激光器进行了实验研究,在光轴位于喷管阵列出口平面下游10mm处和15mm处分别进行了出光实验,得到188.4W和205.8W的DF激光输出,输出激光波长为3.6~4.1μm,激光器的电效率分别为2.3%和2.5%。该小型电激励连续波DF化学激光器长时间(100s)运行的功率稳定性峰谷值和均方根值分别为±1.04%和0.49%,工作状态较为稳定,实验可重复性好,操作方便,是强光条件下镜片膜层吸收系数测量的适用红外激光光源。  相似文献

The atomic coherent population trapping in the system of an atom with one ground state, a pair of excited states and a set of continuum states, interacting with two temporally separated sets of laser pulses with different phases is investigated.
